Hello, beautiful friends. How are you doing this week? I am gearing up for yet another travel conference. I feel like there's been so many this spring. But I guess because we've been not going to events for the past two years. Everybody's kind of making up for lost time. And I personally have been wanting to get out there and network and collaborate with other content creators. So this was the spring for me to do that. And I don't know if I'll keep my springs this busy but I'm very much enjoying the conferences that I've been going to. But that's what I've been up to. And but today for today's episode I wanted to share with you my restaurant picks for Scottsdale and let me tell you there are plenty of restaurants to choose from when you visit Scottsdale ranging from budget friendly to super Luxe. So whether you're looking for fresh top shelf margaritas paired with tableside gwoc Or if you want Bloody Mary creations paired with your brunch favorites, you will love these top restaurants in Scottsdale. So I'm gonna go through my picks for each meal and I'm going to go over coffee breakfast lunch, Happy Hour dinner and dessert. So let's jump into coffee. My first recommendation would be Joe Joe coffee house. Joe J Joe Joe Coffee House is a light and airy breakfast eatery serving coffee and espresso drinks and all day brunch menu homemade sangria and mimosas and craft cocktails. They have live music on Saturday and Sunday and food menu favorites include the breakfast burrito and the cinnamon roll pancake breakfast. The flights here are pretty epic in both presentation and taste. Not only can you try a mimosa flight but you could also try a coffee flight was which was something I did and I was super excited to because I never seen that before. When you order the Mimosa flight you can try five flavors orange, cranberry lime, peach Bellini, pineapple and apple cinnamon. And I tried the iced coffee flight which comes with Joe Joe cold brew coffee, mocha latte caramel macchiato and white mocha flavors. My absolute favorite was the iced white mocha. Next place for coffee coffee is Berdena's. It's an aesthetic and cheerful spot and it's a local favorite in Old Town Scottsdale. Decor is characterized by black and white tiles natural elements like wood and greenery. And the inside of the shop is relatively small but they do offer outdoor seating with bright orange metal mesh seating. While here try the cardamom latte or the honey lavender latte and be sure to grab a pastry. Now moving on to breakfast hash kitchen is a great spot if you want a filling breakfast paired with a killer Bloody Mary. They have creative and a lively breakfast and bar with live DJ music. It's known as the home of the original build your own Bloody Mary bar and it is pretty impressive. You can expect quite the cocktail spread at hash kitchen they have over 50 craft toppings to create the ultimate breakfast drink. And you should check out the pictures of these bloody marys. They've got all these skewers with like food and pickles and you know, like limes and lemons like just so much stuff just coming out of the top of these bloody marys. There are two hash kitchen locations in Scottsdale one In Gainey village and the other in north Scottsdale, which is a great location to visit if you have done a morning hike around McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Then you can come back into town and stop at that North Scottsdale location. Another beautiful breakfast spot is Arcadia farms cafe. If you're looking for a cozy rustic chic breakfast setting, you can go to Arcadia farms. It's a boutique new American restaurant serving break breakfast, staples like crepes, omelets and French toast. weekend brunch is served on Saturday from eight to 3pm and on Sunday from eight to 230 There's a patio and garden seating in a serene setting as well as inside seating with French countryside decor. Arcadia is a popular local spot for showers and birthdays so reservations are recommended. Now for lunch I would definitely recommend Diego pops. It is a cute place in old town and it's got playful and modern decor and of course they they serve tacos and Mexican food. Happy Hour is seven days a week from three to 6pm. I tried the F and F as a cocktail. It has strawberries, tequila and jalapenos and it was really delicious and it actually had a pretty spicy kick to it which I liked. And also don't miss out on the street corn you can get it on or off the cob. I got it off the cob just because it's easier to eat and they dust it with flaming hot Cheeto dust and it was so good. Next for lunch is postino Arcadia. If you like bruschetta and wine Pacino will be your favorite spot. But Siena is a community oriented Italian cafe that specializes in wine and a wide selection of bruschetta, including sweet and spicy pepper jam and goat cheese, and also Bree apple and Fred fig. They also serve appetizers, boards, soups, salads, paninis, and desserts. There are two locations in Scottsdale, one in the Highland area and the other in Kierland. postino is a great option for groups that want more of a shared plate experience but it also could be suitable for his solo diners and couples. If the weather's nice try to get patio seating for a comfortable and more enjoyable dining experience. Now moving on to happy hour. The Beverly on Main is a swanky cocktail lounge with a nostalgic style. There's leather booths exposed brick and vintage chandeliers in this place. Now there is a food menu with shareables skewers, burgers and more. But the main draw of this place is the craft cocktails and they serve things like classic old fashions lemondrop, martinis, and a decent number of the food items can be prepared vegan, and, or and or are gluten free. Happy our pricing is on select beverages and bites and it's every day from open to 8pm. Now if money is no object, you can order a cocktail from the flexson menu where specialty drinks go for $50 to $500 a piece. Now this next place is a really unique spot. It's called Platform 18. And it is an entirely adults only cocktail experience. It's an it's an immersive 90 minute experience. Now this is technically in Phoenix but Phoenix and Scottsdale are so close that it's fine. But it feels like you've just boarded this 1920s presidential Pullman inspired train car. There's no actual trembling or vibrations that like a real train would have. But when you do enter, it has these well quote unquote windows that and basically these windows have synchronized screens on them which shows scenic landscapes so it makes you feel like you're actually passing through like this Canadian countryside. Reservations are required for this place and there's a fee to reserve your seat and you can choose either a bar or a booth. The fee includes entry, a glass of champagne, and a Buffalo Trace bourbon infused chocolate bonbon. When you close out, once inside, you can order from an extensive cocktail menu, or you can get recommendations from the bartenders. For me the 90 minute experience was enough to try to to different cocktails, you can also try an alcohol infused sorbet. If you have a sweet tooth. Now the setting is rather like long and narrow, because, you know, you want to feel like you're actually in a train car. So if I tried this experience again, I would definitely choose a booth seating versus the bar seating because the booths are way more comfortable, and the booths are more expensive than the bar seating, but I would say it's probably more worth it so that you'll have a better experience. Now if trains aren't your thing you can try the other sister experiences to platform 18 one is called under toe, which is like a nautical inspired bar like you're on a pirate ship. Or you can try grant gray hen AR x which is a mid 1800s New Orleans inspired pharmacy bar. Now moving on to dinner, the mission is a great place if you're craving some good tableside guacamole. It is a Restaurant and Lounge serving modern Latin cuisine. There's a location in Kierland but I went to the Old Town location which I think is the original and it was beautiful. The mission is designed to be sophisticated yet casual, it's very dimly lit. But it's surrounded by this glow of a large Himalayan salt block wall so it's got this like pink salt block that kind of has this like pink hue coming off of it. There are chandeliers hanging from the ceilings and I found this atmosphere to be more on the romantic side but there were families and groups and and whatever else. I tried the duck carnitas empanadas and they were so good. I highly recommend them. And for a more Luxe dinner experience. I loved going to tea cooks. It is the restaurant inside of Royal Palms Resort and it's named after the son of the original owner of the Historic Royal Palms property. Tea cooks features creative Mediterranean dishes. There are two outdoor patios making four stunning views of the lush landscape of the Royal Palms Resort. And there's also views of Camelback Mountain. The burrata melted in your mouth and the pesto and focaccia were fresh and herbaceous. I was most impressed by the Bolognese dish for a common and simple recipe. I wasn't expecting much, but it was truly done perfectly. I wanted to eat the entire thing I truly did, but it was so filling that I couldn't quite finish. And as a bonus, I would recommend Virtu honest craft. This was a really exquisite dining experience. You must make reservations for it because it's a prefix menu. And this virtue is nestled in the bespoke in bed and breakfast. It's an intimate upscale restaurant serving Mediterranean inspired prefix menu that changes very frequently sometimes daily. This award winning menu created by Chef Gio Osso. He likes to feature seafood Prime Meats, fresh handmade pasta and regional produce prepared with a Mediterranean influence. The standard prefix menu comes with three courses a small bite starter and entree and dessert. wine pairings are optional as well as a second course of pasta and or a fourth course of cheeses. And I wrote a separate blog post entirely on my experience at for to honest craft and I'll probably create a podcast episode on it if I haven't already, I can't remember. But it was a great experience. Moving on our last meal of the day dessert. Sugar Bowl is a great spot for dessert. It is a Scottsdale staple and it's been so since 1958 This is an ice cream parlor that also serves shakes, malts, floats, salads and sandwiches. It's an easy spot to to find because it has bubblegum pink walls on the outside. And on the inside. It has heart shaped tables and pink booths. Super fun. You'll feel like you've stepped back in the in time with this historic parlor slash diner. And they also have an original soda fountain machine so, a few classics to try here is the banana split or even just the good old PB and J. And for dessert another option would be unbaked. If you're looking for an instant where the dessert shop unbaked is a great option, it's an edible cookie dough and ice cream shop. Aside from edible cookie dough and ice cream, you can also try milkshakes, floats, baked items, and even boozy shakes. The desserts are aesthetically pleasing with artfully dripped syrup and toppings like sprinkles and cotton candy. If you go here, you've got to take an obligatory pic in front of the pink neon sign that says I got unbaked. So are you ready to try some delicious meals yet? I am. It's about to be lunchtime.
