Let's jump into today's episode Hello, beautiful jet setters. Can you believe it's already a new year? I mean, I know people say that every year, but it just feels like a whirlwind sometimes. So in the effort of reflection around the new year and setting goals, I wanted to share with you 10 travel experiences to try in 2023. And I definitely wouldn't recommend you trying to get all of these 10 done in a single year because that would be quite ambitious. However, you, there are definitely some awesome ones and maybe you can do just one in the year and make it an annual tradition where you check one of these amazing experiences off of your list each year. So let's get into it. I've got a little bit of everything from snow capped mountains to green valleys to ocean experiences and deserts. So hopefully we cover everything. And the first one we have got to include capturing the magnificent Northern Lights, otherwise known as the Aurora Borealis. This has been on my bucket list for a very long time. I've not done it yet. However, if. Have seen any images or video, I, they just look amazing. It's probably on most people's list for the must visit places on the planet. It's one of nature's most beautiful creations. It's also one of the seven natural wonders of the earth. The northern lights are the closest thing we have to seeing real magic in this world. It's not only one of the prettiest sites that you can. A glimpse of, but it's also highly picturesque. The bright light, the vast palette of colors and the serene atmosphere make it a must visits site on every traveler's list. And I've recommended in the Where to travel series of the podcast, in the blog where it's best to see these northern lights, but just to name a few places, any of the Scandinavian c. Are great for seeing that Iceland is a good destination and also some places in Canada. So if you want specific destinations, check out those where to travel podcast episodes, and I'll give you more specific Destin. All right, next up is a romantic getaway to Santorini Greece. Santorini is one of the most famous islands in Greece. The island consists of a group of smaller islands, and the scenic beauty of this place is really second to none. Santorini has a sense of calm and an aura of peace. All of this, along with an active volcano is a combination, rarely found else. The view of the Caldera accompanied by the local cuisine is worth every penny that you can shell out and it can get expensive. So be aware of that, but it is the perfect combination of natural and manmade beauty. it's highly romantic. One of my friends did her honeymoon there and raved about it, so it's definitely a beautiful bucket list item to add. Next we have the historic pyramids of Giza in Egypt. As a kid, I was absolutely obsessed with Egyptian culture and history and. and I still am so this is absolutely on my list. And for a long time I was told, oh, Egypt is not safe. Don't go. And you do need to be careful and maybe hire a private travel guide, which is what I would personally do before I. But I absolutely will be going to see the pyramids in person in my lifetime. Now the pyramids are also another seven wonders of the world. For thousands of years, these architectural marvels were the tallest, manmade structures. You can even enter the pyramids to Marvel at the wondrous construction. The Giza Plateau is right up against the sprawling city of gi. There are a number of hotels where you can actually book a room with the view of the pyramids. Now that would be pretty epic, I would say Next we have paying a visit to the Taj Mahal in India. Another one that I've not. Checked off my list, but would like to, and so when you think of India, one of the first things that comes to my mind at least, is the majestic beauty of the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is the epitome of the royal and lavish lifestyle of the Al Emperors that once ruled the lands. It's a breathtaking piece of architecture and one of the most beautiful monuments on. The structure was so intricately designed that it took 22 years to complete. It's an ode to love by the emperor to his love, and so it's also got a romantic quality to it. Next we have exploring the fairytale town of Centra Portugal, which of course is something that I did check off my list in 2022 because that is where I had. Wonderful we wedding ceremony to my husband and it truly was fairytale it like a fairytale come true. And I absolutely adored this town. I loved the architecture, I loved the landscape. I loved how it was set in the mountains and a little bit. Misty, kind of overcast quality to it. It's, it is just, it feels very mysterious. So I, hi. If you go to Portugal try to do a centra trip and most people just do a day trip. But if you could spend a couple days there, if not more, you won't regret it because it's just, it's famous for its 19th century romanticism. Architecture and there are castles and royal towns, and the food is amazing. So highly recommend All right, next up we have dive into the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The Great Barrier Reef stretches over 2,300 kilometers, making it the world's largest coral reef. It's also one of the seven natural wonders of the. You can swim through the coral formations, dive to the depths of the reef, and even soak up the sun on the soft sands of one of the beaches, so it is truly a traveler's paradise. Next we have staying on the beaches of the Maldives. Searching for a summer vacation Maldives might be the ticket for you because it is known for its beautiful beaches, and it's known for being calming and relaxing. You can go snorkeling and diving in the clear waters, and it's a highly sought after romantic destination, especially for anniversaries and honeymoons. So there are plenty of resort chains including individual bungalows and villas that you can choose from. You can even visit by taking a private jet if you would. number eight is going to the top of the Birch Khalifa in Dubai. The sheer size of this monument speaks for itself. It's in Dubai and it is the world's tallest building standing at 828 meters. It is the epitome of luxury. It's highest observation deck is at 555 meters. Dubai fountain dance in front of the building and it's beautiful to witness. Traveling in and out of the sprawling city of Dubai is best with a local guide, so you might wanna consider that before going. number nine is climbing the Himalayas in Nepal. The Himalayas are the tallest mountains in the world, and Mount Everest is the highest peak on the planet. A trip to this unique wonder of nature will reveal magnificent mountain ranges and a vast spectrum of cultures. Hiking. The heights of the Himalayas will give people views unlike any other. This scenic beauty and eerie calmness are both relaxing and potentially even frightening, but the pristine environment makes it a must see. Now, this is definitely on many people's lists if they are extreme adventurers, so definitely add this one to your list if you love the outdoors and love adventure. And the final experience on our list is taking a walk in Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone National Park is in the US and it is a true marvel to behold. The park in its entirety is the largest active volcano in the world. The park offers hiking trails, spectacular views, and natural geyser's shooting water over a hundred feet. Complete with colorful hot springs, mud pots, and breathtaking waterfalls. It's easy to understand how one might find it otherworldly. It's one of the top tourist attractions in North America. So every year calls for a new adventure, thus a new vacation, and I hope you start tackling some of these amazing travel experiences that entice you and check them off your list.
