Okay, so I know this one is late We are not in December anymore, but I did want to make sure that I included this in the roundup of the series of where to travel for each month, and I couldn't just skip December. So, I'm sorry that when this is being published, that it's past December. However, you can save this and come back to it for when you're planning your December travel next year. So why travel in December? Well, it's a great TA time to take vacation for several reasons. One, the holiday season is in full swing, which means that many destinations are decorated with festive lights and decor. And the overall atmosphere of the trip will feel more special and festive. Additionally, December is typically a slower time for travel in some areas, so you might be able to find deals on flights, hotels, and activities depending on where you're going. The weather in many popular vacation destinations is pleasant in December. Making it a great time to enjoy outdoor activities, whether it's beach going or hiking, if you're going to a warm place, or skiing and snowboarding if you're going to a cold place. So I've got a little bit of both in this roundup and let's jump into it. The first is Anchorage, Alaska. High of 25, low of 13, winter season and low tourist season. December is the start of the winter season in Anchorage, which means that the city is blanketed in snow and the holiday lights are up creating a magical atmosphere. It's also the start of ski season, so it's a great time to hit the slopes and enjoy some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the world. You may also get to see the Northern Lights as long, dark nights, provide the perfect conditions for viewing this natural wonder. Next is Belgium high of 45, low of 38. It's winter season and low tourist season. December is of course the start of the holiday season in Belgium, which means that cities like Brussels and brew are decorated with beautiful Christmas lights and Christmas markets. Belgium is known for its delicious chocolate, and December is a great time to try some of the best chocolate in the world, especially Hot Co. There are also some cultural events such as the Brussels Jazz Marathon and the G Light Festival. Next, we have Finland High of 24, low of 11 winter season and low tourist season in December. Finland is blanketed in snow and the holiday lights are up creating a magical atmosphere. It's a great time and place to see the Northern Lights as well. And Finland is also known for its winter sports. So if you like cross-country skiing, sh snowshoeing and ice fishing, Finland is a great spot to visit. We have next Dresden Germany it high of 41, low of 32. It's winter season and low tourist season In December, Dresden is decorated with beautiful Christmas lights and there's ice skating on the frozen. The destination is also known for cultural events like The Streets Will Mark, which I, sorry if I didn't pronounce that correctly, but it is one of the oldest Christmas markets in Germany, meaning if you are a Christmas market fan, you've got to add Dresden to your list. now moving over to a warmer destination. We have Goa India high of 90, low of 70. It is high tourist season. December marks the start of the peak tourist season in Goa, which means that the weather is warm and pleasant and there are plenty of activities and events to enjoy. It's a great place to experience cultural events and vibrant nightlife with bars, clubs, and beach parties. A few events around this time of year is the Sunburn Festival and the Goa Food and Cultural Festival. Next is Laos the high of 94, low 62. It's winter season and mid tourist season. December is start of the dry season in Laos, which means that weather will be warm and sunny, making it a better time to explore the country's natural beauty. During this time of year, there are cultural events and unique cuisine to enjoy. Some of those events include the LAO New Year and the Thought Luang Festival. I'm sorry if I mispronounce that. We're going back over to the US and we have 11 worth. Massachusetts Hive 34, LO 21. It's winter and low tourist season In December, Leavenworth is decorated with beautiful Christmas lights and. It's a beautiful place for winter activities, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and ice skating. They have the was sale fest as well as a Christmas lighting festival. So it's a very cute it's a cute town if you want a European Christmas market feel, but without going to Europe, Next, we have Los Cabos, Mexico high of 81, low of 62, winter season and high tourist season though December is the start of peak season in Los Cabos. It does promise warm and sunny weather. There's key cultural events as well as vibrant nightlife bars, clubs, beach parties, et cetera, and there's a film festival and jazz festival around this time of year. Another great sunny, beachy place to visit is Maui, Hawaii. or really any of the islands. But for this one, we're picking Maui The high is 72 as low as SI 56. It's winter season and mid to high to our season. There's really no bad time to visit Hawaii. We've said this before. Maui is known for its beautiful beaches, which are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing. It's home to many world class resorts and hotels, which offer luxurious accommodations and amenities. So Hawaii in December is always a good idea, in my opinion. Now, we couldn't have this list without including New York City in December. High of 44, low of 31 winter season and mid to high tourist season. New York City is a delightful place to get into the Christmas spirit with its beautiful lights and decor. It's also known for world class shopping, making it a great place to take care of your Christmas shopping list. Be sure to get into the holiday spirit by attending a show such as the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. And the New York City ballet's production of the Nutcracker. Next we have Park City, Utah, a high of 35, low 14 winter season, low tourist season. December is the start of ski season in Park City, which means it's a great time to hit the slopes and enjoy some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the world. Park City is also known for its vibrant nightlife, and December is a great time to experience the. Dining areas, restaurants, bars, clubs, et cetera. Next we have Pan Panang, Malaysia. It's the high of 88, low of 75. It's winter season and mid tour season. December is the start of dry season in this destination, which means that the weather is warm and sunny. which is a better time to visit the island and explore the natural beauty. It's known for beautiful beaches, making it a great destination to get away, relax, and enjoy the unique culture and food. Next up, we have Pettet Thailand high of 89, low of 76, winter season and high to our season. December is the start of peak tourist season in Pouquette, which means that the weather is beautiful and there's plenty of events and activities to enjoy outside. In addition to beautiful beaches, there are also great water sport options like snorkeling diving and jet skiing. Next, moving back to a colder environment. We've got Prague in the Czech Republic. It's a high of 40, low of 32 winter season and mid tour season. Now Prague is yet another Christmas hub decorated with beautiful Christmas lights and decor, so I would highly recommend coming here if you want to explore Christmas markets ice skate on frozen rivers and enjoy traditional dishes and desserts. Another beautiful spot is Salzburg Austria high of 39, low of 27, winter season and mid tour season. Similar to Prague Fest. Salzburg is a festive place to visit in December with beautiful Christmas lights and markets and ice skating and more. Next, we have Sao Paolo, Brazil, hive, 83, low of 68, summer season and low tourist season. December is the start of summer in South Palo, which means that the weather is sunny and warm, making it a great time to explore the outdoor. You can visit Iguazu Falls for hiking and water activities, or explore the city and experience the nightlife and the delicious food. Next, we have se Siesta Keys, Florida High of 74, low of 55, winter season and mid tour season. Siesta Keys in December. Usually warm and sunny. It technically wasn't this past year because we had a cold front move through, but typically it is a great place to relax on the beach and enjoy warm weather within the US during the month of December. Siesta Keys is known for delicious seafood, so it's definitely a place to try the region's f fresh catches of the. Next we have South Padre Island, which is actually where I spend most of my Christmas holidays as of lately, and that's in the very southern most point of Texas. The high of 72, low of 57. It's winter season and low tourist season. The weather is usually warm and. With average high temperatures in the mid seventies and low humidity. December is truly a great time to visit the island's. Beautiful beach. as the crowds are typically smaller than on peak season, and personally I enjoy it to the much more hotter months of June and July where I feel like I'm just sweating bullets. So South Padre Island is known for great fishing and December's also a great time to catch a variety of fish species such as red fish, speckled trout, and flounder, assuming that the wind's not too sharp. Cold Next, we have St. Petersburg, Florida High of 72, low 57 winter season and mid tourist season. The weather is typically mild and pleasant in December in St. Petersburg. The high temperatures are in the low seventies and there's low humidity. It's a great time to enjoy the city's many outdoor attractions such as beaches, parks, and botanical garden. It's also a great destination for foodies with a diverse range of restaurants, cafes, and breweries to enjoy from fresh seafood, to classic southern comfort food. There's something for everyone in St. Petersburg. Now, if you're a skier, you might want to consider Sun Valley Idaho High of 31, low of seven. It's winter season and lower to tourist season. now. December is prime ski season in Sun Valley and the area is known for its challenging runs and beautiful mountain scenery. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced skier, you'll find plenty of great slopes to explore. Sun Valley is a picturesque mountain town and the holiday season is a special time to visit with festive lights and decorations and a variety of holiday events and activities. The weather in Sun Valley in December is cold, but typically sunny and dry, which makes it a nice time to have outdoor activities. Skiing, ice skating, sledding, and more. Next, we have Tulum Mexico high of 83, low of 62, winter season and mid tourist season. December is a great time to enjoy tulums beautiful beaches, as the crowds are typically smaller than during peak season. The weather's also usually warm and pleasant with average high temperatures in the mid eighties and low humidity. Tulum is known for its Mayan ruins, and December is a great time to explore the area's rich history and culture. The Tulum archeological site and the Cian Khan Biosphere Reserve are just a few of the many attractions worth visiting. Another destination to visit in December is Uruguay. It's high of 79, low of 64, summer season and high tourist season. December is peak season for tourism in Uruguay, and there are many events and activities to enjoy at this time of year, such as music festivals, art fairs, and sports events. December is a great time to visit because the weather is typically warm and pleasant with average highs in the mid seventies. It's a place to explore beaches, natural national parks, and. Another great destination is the Virgin Islands, the US Virgin Islands high of 84, low of 76 winter season, and mid to high tourist season. December is peak season for tourism in the US Virgin Islands, so there are many events and activities to enjoy, such as music festivals and sporting events. It is warm and pleasant weather with high temperatures in the low 80. And it's a beautiful island chain to explore and spend some time by the beach. We've got another destination. We have two more, so hang in there with me. The second to last one is Williamsburg Virginia high of 53, low of 33. It's winter season and low tourist season. The holiday season is a special time in Williamsburg with festive lights and decorations. I actually have been during the December timeframe for a wedding, and it really is a very picturesque town when they decorate for the holidays, there are Christmas parades, holiday markets, and even the there's a section in Williamsburg that is like an old colonial town with reenactments and even they get into the holiday spirit and dress up. Fancier dress for the Christmas time. It's a really cool spot to visit. Now, when I visited, the weather wasn't amazing, but typically it should be fairly mild and pleasant with average high temperatures in the mid fifties. So at the time when we visited, it was much colder, but mid fifties is pretty good Anyway it's a great place to visit the historical attractions such as Colonial Williamsburg, which is the little town that I referred to earlier, and then also Jamestown. And our final destination on where to travel in December is Zurich and the Swiss Alps in Switzerland, high of 41, low of 30 threes winter season and low tourist season. December is a great time to visit Zurich, as the weather is typically cold but sunny with average temperatures in the low forties. It's a great time to enjoy the city's many outdoor attractions such as the lakes and parks and the Swiss Alps are a beautiful destination to visit during the winter months. Because the peaks are snow capped, the villages are picturesque, and particularly in this time of year, the Swiss Alps are great for winter sports enthusiasts and many ski resorts open for the season in December. So it's the perfect opportunity to hit the slopes and enjoy skiing or snowboarding in this beautiful alpine environment. Crowds are generally smaller during the peak summer season, and it provides a more peaceful and relaxed environment for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of every. And as a bonus, we have a few more destinations for where to travel in December 1st is Aswan Egypt. Barlo, Argentina, Fredericksburg, Texas, Guatemala, Jekyll Island and Sea Island in Georgia, LA Roman in Dominican Republic, new Hope, Pennsylvania. Sierra Leon in Africa and Taos, New Mexico.
