Not to be confused with my name, the jet set. Blonde and I know this isn't maybe a brand new travel trend. It probably ebbs and flows. It's definitely, we're seeing more of it in the travel space right now. So what is it? Well, have you ever watched a TV show or a movie and found yourself daydreaming about visiting the locations featured on the screen? If so, you're not alone because in recent years, there's been a growing trend among travelers to visit destinations that they've seen on TV as filming locations for their favorite shows and movies. This trend is known as set jetting, and it's become increasingly popular as people seek out unique and immersive travel experiences. With the proliferation of streaming platforms and the ability to binge watch entire seasons in a short amount of time, it's no surprise that people are looking to recreate the that onscreen magic in real. One of the biggest motivators for set jetting is the desire to visit the actual locations where TV shows and MO movies were filmed from the cobblestone streets of Dublin and normal people to the picturesque coast of Croatia. In games of Game of Thrones set, jetters are drawn to the authentic and immersive experiences that these locations. Set Jetting allows travelers to not only visit the beautiful locations featured on screen, but also to connect with their favorite characters and storylines in a deeper way. It's a chance to step into the world of a TV show or movie and experience it firsthand. Many set jetters also want to experience the local culture and traditions that are depicted on screen. For example, fans of Outlander may want to visit Scotland or try their hand at traditional Scottish crafts, or those who are inspired by the Italian job may want to take a tour of Italy's iconic sports. In addition to the cultural experiences set, jetting also allows travelers to connect with like-minded individuals who share their love for a particular show or movie. It's not uncommon to find fan groups or tours that cater to set Jetters, providing the opportunity to meet new people and make lasting memories with fellow. So let's talk about a few of the popular set jetting destinations right now. And, but this is by no means a comprehensive list, but this does call out a few that have good following around them. The first is Dublin, which is featured in normal people. The critically acclaimed TV series Normal People is based on the novel by Sally Rooney and follows the complicated relationship between Maryanne and Connell. The show is filmed in various locations around Dublin, including Trinity College, St. Steven, St. Stevens Green, and O'Connell Street. Set Jetters can visit these iconic locations and get a feel for the city that served as the backdrop for the show. And I'm not gonna go into it in this podcast, but if you are interested in actually seeing some tours with real itineraries of these that include these filming locations, I have those links on my blog. At jet setting blonde.com, so you can actually click into some of these tours if you're interested in booking something yourself. All right. Next up we have Croatia and Ireland in Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones is known for its stunning locations, and Croatia was featured prominently in the series. Dubrovnik, a City on the Adriatic Sea served as the setting for King's Landing while split a city on the Dalmatian. Was used for the City of Marine Set. Jetters can take a tour of these locations and visit the same famous landmarks featured in the show, such as The Red Keep and the Miis Fighting Pits. In addition to Croatia Game of Thrones, also filmed in various locations in Ireland, including Belfast and the Mourn Mountain. Set Jetters can visit these locations and see iconic landmarks from the show, such as The Dark Hedges, which served as the King's Road, the Cenon caves where me LaSandra gave birth to a shadow monster in the show. And Castle Ward, which served as Winterfell in Belfast Set. Jetters can also visit the Titanic studios where many of the show's interiors were. Next we have Scotland featured in Outlander. Outlander is a historical drama based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon. The show follows the story of Claire, a World War II nurse who travels back in time to 18th century Scotland. Set Jetters can visit various locations in Scotland that were used as filming locations such as the beautiful highlands and the ancient castles. For more cultural experiences, fans of the show can try their hand at traditional Scottish crafts, such as whiskey making or wool spinning, and learn more about the country's rich history. Next we have Italy in the Italian job, and this is actually referencing the original Italian job, although I'm sure the second one probably has its own following as well. The Italian job is a classic heist film that follows a group of thieves as they plot to steal gold from an Italian palazzo. The film was shot in various locations around Italy, including Turin and Alro Bello Set. Jitters can take a tour of these locations and see the iconic landmarks featured in the. In addition, Italy is known for its sports cars and set. Jetters can take a tour of some of the country's iconic vehicles such as the Ferrari and the Lamborghini. I've actually been to the Ferrari and the Ducati factories in Italy, and it was a really fun, exciting way to experience a different aspect of Italian culture. Next we have the United Kingdom in Harry Potter. We cannot leave Harry Potter out of this roundup, could we? Harry Potter is a beloved series of books and movies that has inspired a generation of fans set. Jetters can visit various locations in the United Kingdom that were used as filming locations such as the Historic Oxford University and the iconic Warner Brothers studio. I for one, have been to Oxford University and have actually stayed there for a summer, and it really does feel like you're walking around the world of Harry Potter. It the whole town is just feels magical and part of that magic for me was probably because that was my first trip overseas ever was to Oxford, England and to study abroad for the summer and. it. It was a life-changing experience to be honest. So of course Oxford will always hold a magical quality in my heart. But if you wanna know, so the specific filming locations, Oxford has the Bolden Library, which served as the inspiration for the Hogwarts Library and the Great Hall at Christ Church College. And that served as inspiration for the Hogwarts Great Hall. Then there's Warner Brothers Studios, which has been created since I've well after I was there as a student and at this particular place, it brings the world of Harry Potter to life, and you can take a tour of the sets and see authentic costumes and props from the movie. And it goes into detail about the making of the Harry Potter series. Next, I'm sure you guess this would be on the list is New Zealand in Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit Lord of the Rings in the Hobbit are epic fantasy series that were filmed in New Zealand Set Jitters can visit the stunning landscapes and natural wonders that served as the backdrop for the movies such as the Gorgeous Beaches and the Majestic Mountain. Also set Jetters can visit the HA Baton movie set, which has been preserved and turned into a tourist attraction. Another popular destination for Set Jetters is the state of Georgia featured in The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead is a popular TV series about a group of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world. The show is filmed in various locations around Georgia, including Atlanta and son. Set Jetters can visit these locations and see the iconic landmarks featured in the show such as the Alexandria Safe Zone and the Hilltop Colony. In addition, set, jetters can take a tour of the show's sets and see authentic costumes and props. And finally, I think the most latest inspiration for Set Jetters has been the TV series, the White Lotus. And this has been a bit of a different inspiration because the first season was set in Hawaii and the second season was set in Sicily. So the first one was actually and this, so this one is, there's not really a tour that you can take, but you can actually stay in the hotels where these TV series were filmed. So the fir okay, let's just back up for a second. The White Lotus is a comedy drama TV series and the first season was filmed in Hawaii. So set Jetters can visit the beautiful islands of Hawaii and ex experience the exquisite beaches. and they can go to a hula dancing and a luau party, which was seen in the White Lotus. And this particular hotel is actually the Four Seasons Resort, Maui at Walia. I've been to this hotel and it really is beautiful. The landscape is perfect. The beaches are amazing. So it is definitely worth your visit. And then the second season in Sicily actually took place in, in another Four Seasons resort, and it's called San Domenico Palace. So Four Seasons, definitely getting some good PR here. If you would like to book your stay at one of these, I'd be happy to do that. Complimentary. That's one of the services that I. In my custom travel planning services and yeah I would highly recommend the either of those. Alright, so let's wrap this up. The trend of Set jetting offers a unique way for travelers to engage with their favorite TV shows and movies on a deeper level. Personally, I am a. TV show and movie fan. I love watching series, especially the fantasy ones. So you know, the Lord of the Rings, the Harry Potter, even the Outlander kind of has that fantasy aspect to it. I love those. So I think it's a fun way to bring a country to life. I don't know if I would base my entire vacation around that particular. Movie or TV show. So like I don't think I would go to New Zealand and just make it all about The Hobbit and Lord the Rings. However, I think it could be a fun aspect and a fun way to spend your day to take a tour of those things. and it could make for a very unique travel experience, so why not consider it?
