“Ultra” Tim Davis joins host Brad Dalton on the Best Self Podcast. Tim is an avid ultra-runner and triathlete, and an advocate for mental health and 12 step programs. His story begins in his 20's when fell off exercising as drinking and drugging consumed most of his life. He was diagnosed with pre-diabetes and weighed in at 250 pounds on a frame that wasn't built for that kind of weight. He was just over a year sober from drugs and alcohol, but still smoking over a pack of disgusting cigarettes per day. His doctor told him he may not make it to 50 at the rate he was going and this was his wakeup call.
He is a 12-time Ironman triathlon finisher, one-time double ironman triathlon finisher, and a 7-time 100-mile endurance run finisher.
He teaches and coaches how physical training promotes mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. He has completed hundreds of marathons, ultramarathons, and triathlons. He lives in the Los Angeles area with his wife and 3 children. He has been an athletics coach and science teacher for over 20 years.
