Welcome to God's Reporter Podcast, where we serve the risen king and share the good news of God's word. And now, your host, David Fry. But first, first, before we get started, we always start out with a prayer. With prayer. Excuse me, I can't talk today. So let's pray. Father God, we love you so much, and we thank you for giving us another day. We thank you for the many blessings that you give us and all that you do for us, Lord. Father, we thank you for my listeners, Lord. I pray that you will watch over them. Give them blessings, Lord. Help them with whatever they may be going through, Lord. Lift them up, Lord, so that they can see your power, Lord, and your love and your grace and your mercy, Lord. Father, I pray for the countries that are at war right now, especially Israel, the United States, and Iran. I pray for the innocent victims of these countries, Lord. I pray that you will watch over them and keep them all safe. Father, I pray for the leaders of these countries that they will come together and find a peaceful solution to all of these problems, Lord. Father, I pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen. Now before we get started, if you have a prayer request, or you'd like someone to pray with you, or you have a Bible question, or you'd like to give your testimony on the on the uh podcast, I will give you all that contact information at the end of the episode. Stick around for that. Also, we're having a it's a God's reported Bible ministry where we're giving away free of charge, no no charge to you, a free new living translation, new believers Bible. Now it has the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It also has Bible stories in it, it has the first steps of becoming a new Christian, how to pray, how to minister to others. It's great for new believers, but it's also great for believers who's who've been a believer for a few years now, or even the old believers that would like to brush up on what they need to be doing for God to obeying God's will. So if you would like one of these, I'll give you all that information at the end of the episode. So stick around for that. But let's get on with the message. We're going to start we're going to talk about Palm Sunday, which was this past Sunday, through the day that Jesus is arrested and they want him crucified. Now starting out in Matthew 21 through 11, Jesus sent his disciples to get a small colt, and he brought it back to Jesus, and he got up on it, and they rode down the middle of the road of Jerusalem. And everyone that was there was praising his name. Oh Hosanna, Hosanna of the Highest, praise Jesus. They were putting palms branches down on the ground for him to ride over. Now what I want to know is, how can it go from praising Jesus' name in Matthew 20 to going to crucify him in Matthew 27? Well, I'm going to tell you how. You see, when the Jews saw Jesus coming, they believed he was the Messiah, and he is the Messiah. But they also believed that they were going to be saved from Rome. But Jesus came to save their souls, to save them from their own sins, to give them salvation and eternal life, that welcomed them into the kingdom of heaven when they came when they died. And you see, the religious leaders, they thought he was going against their religion, which he was. And they knew that Jesus could be dangerous for their religion and their own followers. So they were getting people to believe that Jesus was dangerous, that he needed to be crucified. So when in Matthew 27, 22 and 23, Jesus got arrested and took and was taken to Pontius Pilate. Now Pontius Pilate didn't know that much about Jesus. He told him, he said, So you are the king of the Jews. And Jesus said, You have said it. So they made a crown of thorns and put on his head, and put gave him a royal robe for him to wear, and they mocked his name, spit on him, whipped him. And then he Pontius Pilate went to the window to the crowd and said, What shall I do with this king of the Jews? And they all were yelling out, Crucify him, crucify him. So that's what he did. So we had to carry across through the streets of Rome to the place where he was crucified. But you see, isn't that like what we are today with the with the pastors of the church or even the leaders of the countries? We love our pastors. Because the past if the pastor is doing what we want, we love him and we praise his name, don't we? But the first time he does something against what we want, they want him out, don't they? Maybe the pastor is doing what God wants instead of what what you want. Did you ever think about that? Maybe the pastor is following God's commands and not the people in the church. And maybe, just maybe the leaders of the countries, you know, the the people that live in that country, they are all for the leader of the country until he does something against what the people want. Just maybe he's doing the right thing instead of doing more of the wrong thing what she has been doing. Maybe he or she is doing something that will bless you instead of giving you a short bit of happiness Think about that for a minute. That's what Jesus was doing. He did what was good for the people. He did what God asked him to do. What God told him to do, what the Holy Spirit was telling him to do. But you know, Jesus loves every one of us. He loves us all and he doesn't want to do anything that would have that would hurt us in in any way. So he does things that are for our own good. Jesus is God and just like our fathers and mothers, he disciplines us when we do things wrong. So we must ask for forgiveness for our sins. We must pray every day. We must read his word. Do you read your word daily? Do you pray to him daily? Do you talk to Jesus? If something's not going right in your life, ask him about it. Ask Jesus, are you doing this? Or is something am I doing something wrong to make this happen? And if I'm and I am doing something wrong, Lord, help me to fix it. Or explain to me what you're doing. And usually if he is doing something to discipline you, something good always comes out at the end. Trust me on that. I know. So if you don't know Jesus today, I'm asking you now. Isn't it about time? Isn't it? Are you ready to know Jesus? Are you ready to to be a follower of Christ? Why not right now? Why not give your heart and life to him and accept him as your Savior and have eternal life and have salvation and know without a doubt that you will be in heaven? I would hate to go through life not knowing for sure if I was saved or not, not knowing for sure if I was going to be greeted into heaven or thrown down into the pits of hell. I'd rather know for sure. So if you don't know Jesus today, ask him into your heart right now. Accept him as your Lord and Savior. Believe in him, have faith and trust in him and no one else and no other God, for there is no other real God. If you're following religion instead of a relationship with Jesus, you need to stop it today. Religion will lead you straight to hell. If you're following a denomination instead of Jesus, you need to stop right now. A denomination would lead you straight to hell. The only one that can put you in heaven, that's Jesus Christ.
