Show Notes

In Episode #26, we interview Theresa Broome and Kim Sabanayagam from Children and Families First. Theresa is the Program Manager of several programs at Children and Families First while Kim is a Case Manger, working directly with families to provide services. For the purpose of today's podcast, we really focused on Family Search and Engagement, a program supported by Children and Families First with the purpose of finding supportive adults for youth in foster care. While permanency is the ultimate goal, Kim and her colleagues work with biological relatives, children, and other agency workers to identify possible supportive adults to remain in a child's life and help them transition into adulthood.

During this episode, Kim and Theresa reference MY LIFE Services. These are services offered to youth in foster care and stands for My Young Life In Foster care Explained. We have a great recorded video training on this topic, which can be found here.

Please enjoy your chat with Theresa and Kim!
