In Episode #29, we chat with Sue Murray, Deputy Director of the Division of Family Services. Sue has been with DFS for 25 years and now mostly manages the operational side of the division. She has a wealth of knowledge on child welfare and we focus our chat on specific initiatives the DFS has been working on over the past few years. From 2013-2016, DFS underwent a process called "Outcomes Matter" which highlighted efforts to focus on Family First and provide prevention services rather than reactive treatment measures. In our chat, Sue discusses three of these main initiatives and how they are going. She also chats about how the pandemic has affected DFS efforts and where she sees DFS going in the next few years.
