In Episode #53, we chat with Meredith Seitz, Chief Policy Advisor to the Division of Services for Children, Youth, and their Families as well as Antonisha Busby, the Youth In Transition Coordinator at the Office of the Child Advocate. These amazing ladies discuss the recently signed House Bill 123 which grants higher education tuition waivers to youth who have experienced foster care. This bill has been in the making for a few years and finally came to fruition in 2021. It has been supported by many including former-foster-youth-turned-CASA-volunteer Mayda Berrios and was chiefly sponsored by Representative Krista Griffith among many others. Meredith and Antonisha discuss how this tuition waiver is applicable to the University of Delaware, Delaware State University, and Delaware Technical Community College.
