Various tools are available that allow sheep farmers to both improve worm control and slow the development of anthelmintic resistance. These include tools to understand life cycles, grazing and pasture management, knowledge of farm anthelmintic resistance status and avoiding highly selective practices. Ally Anderson of Zoetis discusses the parasites and clinical signs farmers need to watch out for this grazing season, with nematodirus and coccidiosis becoming prevalent on Scottish farms this week. Graeme Mather of Shandford Farm operates a clean grazing strategy to minimise the risk of worm burden on young lambs. Download now to hear how Graeme uses strategies such as this to reduce the requirement to worm lambs through the grazing period.

For more information, QMS have developed a booklet in collaboration with HCC and AHDB named worm control in sheep https://www.qmscotland.co.uk/worm-control-sheep-1

Head to the SCOPS website for the Nematodirus Forecast https://www.scops.org.uk/ to assess the risk in your area.
