When we were kids, our mom used to sing us a song, “All the Pretty Little Horses”. There’s a line that says “Dapples, grey”, but we sang it as “dapple and grey”. We wanted a name that meant something to us, and as I (Rishelle) was thinking about what it could be, I thought about our childhood and this came to mind.
