Visibility, Comfort Zones and 3 Minute Dance Parties - Charlotte Fowles
Charlotte Fowles is also known as The Executive Adventurer. She helps corporate leaders who are frustrated, lost or bored to achieve their fully uncompromised life without sacrificing their current success.
Always one to practice what she preaches, she has spent a lot of her life pushing herself way outside her comfort zone in pursuits such as free diving, marathon running, solo-hiking whilst on chemotherapy, and crossing the Australian outback for months in an ancient 4x4 truck. After enduring over a decade of personal trauma, she is an expert at creating triumph from tragedy and living life in spite of this, and brings this epic resilience to her coaching.
But in addition to this, and one of the reasons I wanted to speak to Charlotte for the podcast, was that 3 times a day, for 14 weeks over lockdown, she held a 3 minute dance party over zoom. Starting from an idea that came to her whilst she was out running, her audience snowballed and it turned into an event that made an enormous difference to the mental health and sense of connection of those who attended at such a challenging time.
In our conversation, Charlotte talks about what inspired her to start the dance parties and the huge benefits she personally experienced - including those she never predicted. We also cover barriers to visibility and why going out of our comfort zones is so important to our belief in what we can achieve.
