Richard Wurmbrand: A Persecuted Christian with an Important Voice for Today
Show Notes

In the last years, 340 million Christians were living in places where they experience high levels of persecution. Over 4,500 Christians were killed for their faith, and over 4,000 Christians were detained without trial, arrested, sentenced, or imprisoned.

One of the most well-known persecuted Christians was Romanian pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who later became the founder of the group Voice of the Martyrs (www.persecution.com). His story and that of Sabina Wurmbrand is frequently not heard, although a film has been released recently (www.sabinamovie.com).

In this interview, we ask Rev. Dr. Octavian Baban about Richard Wurmbrand. Like the Wurmbrands, Octavian Baban lived for 30 years under Communist oppression in Romania. He has read and interacted with them. He is also Associate Professor of New Testament at University of București, Romania and Institutul Teolgic Baptist București. He serves as a pastor at Baserică Baptistă Sfânta Treime, also in București, România.
