00:00:28 Speaker 3

Post send a busy.

00:00:29 Speaker 2

So definitely a busy week in the news.

00:00:30 Speaker 3

Week in the news.

00:00:35 Speaker 2

I figured we could talk a little bit about.

00:00:38 Speaker 2

The submarine or submersible that went to visit the Titanic, obviously you you listeners don't know, but I've always been obsessed with the Titanic and I can remember when they first it's actually been years that.

00:00:51 Speaker 2

I've first saw something that said you could pay to go down there and see it, and I remember instantly.

00:00:58 Speaker 2

And like, Oh my God, that would be so amazing to get to see.

00:01:01 Speaker 2

It in real life.

00:01:02 Speaker 2

And then this happened and not sure if I would want.

00:01:05 Speaker 2

To do it now.

00:01:08 Speaker 3

Apparently there are.

00:01:09 Speaker 3

Like very few companies that even offer it, and obviously like a high price to pay, not just money wise, but you know, life or death wise as well.

00:01:17 Speaker 3

It's a quite risky but something.

00:01:21 Speaker 3

I mean not to find humor in it, but you know, with all of the news happening, there were lots of memes and like, tick tocks and, you know, people kind of up in arms about how much people pay to do this kind of thing.

00:01:34 Speaker 3

But one thing that someone said was, you know, the ghost of Titanic, we're getting their revenge.

00:01:41 Speaker 3

On these, like wealthy people coming down to see their grave, and I just thought that was an interesting perspective to have on on all of this that went.

00:01:52 Speaker 3

Down well.

00:01:53 Speaker 2

Yeah, and like I.

00:01:54 Speaker 2

Said, you know, as a person who's really into history and that kind of.

00:01:57 Speaker 2

Thing in my head I thought, wow.

00:01:59 Speaker 2

That would be so amazing to go down there.

00:02:02 Speaker 2

And just see it.

00:02:03 Speaker 2

And then I also watched a.

00:02:05 Speaker 2

Video from this woman on TikTok and she's like.

00:02:08 Speaker 2

You know, it's not the fact that they spent all this money to go down there or that the the submersible had a handle from the camper world, the PlayStation controller.

00:02:21 Speaker 2

She's like, it's the fact that they spent them like that.

00:02:23 Speaker 2

They're down there and you can only see it through this small window.

00:02:28 Speaker 2

All five of you.

00:02:30 Speaker 2

What are you actually really gonna see that you couldn't see on YouTube?

00:02:33 Speaker 2

Or something and I'm like.

00:02:35 Speaker 2

That's actually really a good point that I didn't think about.

00:02:38 Speaker 2

Are you really gonna be able to see that much?

00:02:40 Speaker 2

It's not like you can get really cool.

00:02:42 Speaker 2

Pictures of you in this ship.

00:02:45 Speaker 2

I mean like you like I.

00:02:46 Speaker 2

Saw a few of.

00:02:47 Speaker 2

Those other researchers and stuff like their pictures and them with the circle window.

00:02:52 Speaker 2

And like a tiny piece of wood from the ship.

00:02:54 Speaker 4

Or something like you could really.

00:02:55 Speaker 3

Be looking at anything.

00:02:56 Speaker 3

No one would know that it.

00:02:58 Speaker 2

Wasn't hiding and so that.

00:02:59 Speaker 3

OK.

00:03:00 Speaker 2

Part is the interesting part to me.

00:03:03 Speaker 2

Like what are you actually really?

00:03:05 Speaker 2

Seeing that you couldn't.

00:03:07 Speaker 2

The sitting up above the water on a ship with the robotics down there, looking at stuff.

00:03:13 Speaker 2

You know what?

00:03:13 Speaker 2

I mean, yeah.

00:03:15 Speaker 3

Like it's just.

00:03:15 Speaker 3

Not worth the risk to do that, especially with today's technology, to be able to see these videos that we have of it, like it doesn't look any different than those videos.

00:03:26 Speaker 2

Yeah, it's not like you get.

00:03:27 Speaker 2

You dive down and take a piece of Barnacle from the Titanic thing you.

00:03:32 Speaker 2

Know like it?

00:03:32 Speaker 3

They'll sit in the dining room chair.

00:03:35 Speaker 2

You're in a small enclosed area with five people looking through.

00:03:39 Speaker 2

A A small window.

00:03:40 Speaker 3

I just think that claustrophobia and alone would get me like being in that tight of a space with.

00:03:46 Speaker 3

Five people for that long, I mean.

00:03:49 Speaker 2

4 percent, 100% but still such a terrible thing to lose. You know anybody just like you said, all those memes and stuff like some of them, of course, were funny.

00:04:00 Speaker 2

But in the grand scheme of things, it's never it's never funny to lose somebody in.

00:04:04 Speaker 2

Such a tragic way.

00:04:07 Speaker 3

Our thoughts are with their families and friends and you know, let's let Titanic lie where it is and be the grave that it is for the thousands of people that died there.

00:04:18 Speaker 2

Yeah. And now five more.

00:04:20 Speaker 3

Back to the main topic of our podcast, which is Ghost and Spooky things.

00:04:25 Speaker 3

This is a really.

00:04:27 Speaker 3

Interesting episode.

00:04:28 Speaker 3

I think, especially if you've never heard of a skin Walker.

00:04:33 Speaker 3

I interviewed Julie and she was out on a hike with her boyfriend and they had a really strange experience.

00:04:41 Speaker 3

Take a listen.

00:04:45 Speaker 4

Me and my boyfriend, we like to go hiking and stuff and we participate.

00:04:50 Speaker 4

In a lot.

00:04:51 Speaker 4

Of scary activities with ghost hunting and we like to go to haunted locations and stuff.

00:04:55 Speaker 4

Like that.

00:04:56 Speaker 4

A few weeks ago it was actually about two weeks ago now we went to the Grand Canyon and we decided to stay at night to Stargate.

00:05:06 Speaker 4

So we found a spot near the rim cause I was like, I don't know if you've ever been there, but there's a bunch of trees around the Grand Canyon area.

00:05:16 Speaker 4

And if you're sitting at the rim, that's where you can have an.

00:05:20 Speaker 4

Unobstructed view of the sky.

00:05:23 Speaker 4

And you can actually see the Milky Way and.

00:05:24 Speaker 4

Stuff from there, it's.

00:05:25 Speaker 4

Very pretty E one of the best spots in the United States in the Star game.

00:05:29 Speaker 4

So that's why we decided to do that.

00:05:32 Speaker 4

And when we were sitting at the rim.

00:05:36 Speaker 4

It was dark at that point, and my boyfriend he just got this awful feeling and he.

00:05:42 Speaker 4

Was like we need to leave.

00:05:44 Speaker 4

I feel like something is watching us and I'm a big believer that if your gut is telling you that something's wrong, then you should listen to it.

00:05:53 Speaker 4

So I was like, OK, let's leave.

00:05:56 Speaker 4

And as we were walking back, we were about 20 minutes from the car and we were walking down this trail and it was pitch black.

00:06:06 Speaker 4

You literally could not see your hand in front of your face, was how dark it was.

00:06:10 Speaker 4

And we were walking and he was acting so strange.

00:06:16 Speaker 4

We've been together for five years and he's never acted like this before.

00:06:20 Speaker 4

Like he was panicking, having a panic attack and out of nowhere we just heard this whistle from behind us.

00:06:29 Speaker 4

It sounded like a man whistling in the trees.

00:06:34 Speaker 4

And we both just stopped and we were looking behind us.

00:06:38 Speaker 4

We were pointing the flashlight cause we thought someone was following us.

00:06:41 Speaker 4

And we didn't see anyone at all.

00:06:44 Speaker 4

There were no people around us that.

00:06:46 Speaker 4

We knew of and at that point we were.

00:06:48 Speaker 4

Like, OK, we we need.

00:06:49 Speaker 4

To hurry up our pace and go to.

00:06:52 Speaker 4

The car faster so.

00:06:54 Speaker 4

As we were walking towards the car.

00:06:57 Speaker 4

Her he he just said like we're not going the right way.

00:07:03 Speaker 4

I feel like we need to go the opposite way, which is where the whistling came from.

00:07:07 Speaker 4

And I was like, we are not going that way and that's not the right way.

00:07:11 Speaker 4

And I had to have like a full conversation with him to get him to believe me, to go the opposite way.

00:07:18 Speaker 4

Like you still didn't believe me at that point, we.

00:07:20 Speaker 4

Kept walking towards the car and we got to the visitor center area.

00:07:24 Speaker 4

There are some lights over there, so that's how I knew that we were.

00:07:28 Speaker 4

In the right spot.

00:07:29 Speaker 4

Because we parked near there.

00:07:31 Speaker 4

And for some reason he was like, we need to just keep walking into the pitch blackness, which was away from the lights where we parked.

00:07:40 Speaker 4

And I was like, that was not the right way.

00:07:44 Speaker 4

It was honestly, the strangest experience.

00:07:47 Speaker 4

He's not like that.

00:07:49 Speaker 4

He's not anxious at all.

00:07:50 Speaker 4

He's not bad with direction.

00:07:52 Speaker 4

And it just really freaked me.

00:07:54 Speaker 4

So I convinced him to go towards the parking lot because I knew where it was and we saw our car in the distance.

00:08:02 Speaker 4

It was pretty far.

00:08:03 Speaker 4

It's a huge parking lot to accommodate for all.

00:08:05 Speaker 4

The people that go there.

00:08:07 Speaker 4

And there were no cars in the parking lot.

00:08:10 Speaker 4

There were no other.

00:08:10 Speaker 4

People around us.

00:08:12 Speaker 4

And as we're walking towards our car.

00:08:14 Speaker 4

We heard this really heavy panting.

00:08:18 Speaker 4

The best way to describe it is.

00:08:21 Speaker 4

Like a demonic dog.

00:08:23 Speaker 4

Like it was just.

00:08:24 Speaker 4

Heavy breathing and it sounded like an animal, like it was gonna attack us.

00:08:30 Speaker 4

And it just sounded like it was getting closer to us, like it was running towards us and for some reason my boyfriend, he was just standing there.

00:08:39 Speaker 4

He like, I was having like.

00:08:40 Speaker 4

No reaction to this like he.

00:08:42 Speaker 4

Heard it, but he wasn't.

00:08:44 Speaker 4

His instinct wasn't to run away from it like me.

00:08:46 Speaker 4

I was just ready to run for.

00:08:48 Speaker 2

The visitor center.

00:08:50 Speaker 4

And I told him I was like, we need to run and like, there's something coming.

00:08:54 Speaker 4

With this and I got him to follow me and we ran towards the visitor.

00:08:58 Speaker 4

Center and we.

00:09:00 Speaker 4

Finally got out of the distance of it, panting like we didn't hear it anymore.

00:09:05 Speaker 4

And we're standing there and we're like, what the heck just happened?

00:09:08 Speaker 4

Cause he point, like, pointed the flashlight around.

00:09:11 Speaker 4

There was no animals.

00:09:13 Speaker 4

There's no people, nothing.

00:09:14 Speaker 4

We heard it so loudly.

00:09:16 Speaker 4

But we didn't see anything.

00:09:17 Speaker 4

It just didn't make.

00:09:19 Speaker 4

And we were standing at the visitor center, regrouping.

00:09:24 Speaker 4

We were trying to figure out what to do because there was nobody around us.

00:09:28 Speaker 4

I thought about calling like the police or like a Ranger, but I was like, they're gonna think I'm crazy.

00:09:35 Speaker 4

So we just really didn't know to do.

00:09:36 Speaker 4

The only thing we could think of doing is just.

00:09:38 Speaker 4

You know, run towards the car and hope that whatever there isn't gonna attack us.

00:09:45 Speaker 4

So we both just ran towards the car.

00:09:50 Speaker 4

Everything was normal like nothing was over there.

00:09:53 Speaker 4

We didn't hear that panting noise.

00:09:54 Speaker 4

We didn't see anyone.

00:09:55 Speaker 4

We got in the car and we left.

00:09:59 Speaker 4

And he he was.

00:10:00 Speaker 4

So weird for like an hour.

00:10:03 Speaker 4

After that experience he was just not himself at all.

00:10:06 Speaker 4

He really was freaked out and scared and panicked and.

00:10:10 Speaker 4

Yeah, that was.

00:10:12 Speaker 4

Our encounter with that, whatever it was, there was a big debate between it being a Mountain Lion and it being a skinwalker.

00:10:20 Speaker 4

Those were the main two things and I didn't know mountain lions could.

00:10:25 Speaker 4

I looked it up and I listened to a couple different videos of mountain lions whistling.

00:10:30 Speaker 4

And it sounded nothing like what we heard, what we heard sounded like a person, like a man whistling.

00:10:36 Speaker 4

It's very.

00:10:37 Speaker 4

To hard to confuse the two.

00:10:40 Speaker 4

If you've listened to them, and also I tried to find videos of like mountain lions panting, I'm pretty sure when they can't, they don't make a noise.

00:10:50 Speaker 4

I couldn't find a video of them making a noise.

00:10:52 Speaker 4

So I I pretty much just debunked that.

00:10:56 Speaker 4

I don't think it was a Mountain Lion at all.

00:10:58 Speaker 4

I think we would have been able to recognize the noise or have seen something.

00:11:04 Speaker 4

And then I looked into the skinwalker claims, which I really don't want to look into, cause that sounds terrifying, but I did look into it, and unfortunately it makes the most sense for what we encountered.

00:11:20 Speaker 4

So they are Navajo witches.

00:11:25 Speaker 4

Can transform into animals and they try and.

00:11:30 Speaker 4

Like lure people to their death.

00:11:33 Speaker 4

They it's very common for them to whistle and try and like, get people's attention. I've heard that.

00:11:39 Speaker 4

They mess with peoples's.

00:11:41 Speaker 4

Emotions and feelings and lick your head.

00:11:45 Speaker 4

And something that really creeps me.

00:11:46 Speaker 4

Out I read in.

00:11:48 Speaker 4

The TikTok comments. Someone said that when a skinwalker like whistles and it sounds far away, it means that they're actually like really close.

00:11:58 Speaker 4

Few, and if they like, make a noise and it sounds like it's really close or far away from you.

00:12:04 Speaker 4

So that just made me think when we were standing there and we heard the whistle and it sounded kind of far away from us.

00:12:12 Speaker 4

It was actually probably.

00:12:13 Speaker 4

Right by us.

00:12:15 Speaker 4

Finally, leaving and it sounded right in front of us.

00:12:19 Speaker 4

It could have meant that it was actually really far away from.

00:12:22 Speaker 4

Us so that creeped me.

00:12:23 Speaker 4

Out everything that I researched about skin workers kind of matches.

00:12:28 Speaker 4

Up with.

00:12:28 Speaker 4

The experience that we had, unfortunately.

00:12:30 Speaker 4

So that's kind of where I'm at.

00:12:32 Speaker 4

Right now I've.

00:12:33 Speaker 4

Heard stories about Skinwalkers and never thought that I would encounter one in my lifetime.

00:12:40 Speaker 4

And the fact.

00:12:41 Speaker 4

That we possibly did freaks me out a lot, so I'm sure would freak anyone out.

00:12:47 Speaker 4

The best way to describe it is it sounded like it was like mocking us like it was a very sinister whistle.

00:12:54 Speaker 4

That's why we were scared that there was a person following us that maybe had bad intentions.

00:13:00 Speaker 4

Or something like that.

00:13:02 Speaker 4

It wasn't like a friendly whistle, and it it definitely freaked us out.

00:13:06 Speaker 4

It wasn't just like a whistle you hear in nature like a bird or something.

00:13:09 Speaker 4

And you're like, ohh, that's.

00:13:11 Speaker 3

An animal like you said, your boyfriend, right?

00:13:14 Speaker 3

Is is who is with you.

00:13:16 Speaker 3

So after this and he was like acting all weird.

00:13:19 Speaker 3

Did you ask him like, hey, what the heck was going on?

00:13:23 Speaker 4

Yeah, I did cause he has never acted like that and he had no idea what had happened to him.

00:13:32 Speaker 4

Like he felt like something had.

00:13:33 Speaker 4

Messed with his head.

00:13:35 Speaker 4

He's never felt like that before, and right after it happened, he actually wanted to call his.

00:13:42 Speaker 4

Grandfather, who's a priest and ask him to, like, cry over him because he was really scared with what had happened.

00:13:50 Speaker 4

He just felt like he had, like, lost control of his mind, been together for five years.

00:13:54 Speaker 4

We've been to so many haunted places, and he's never acted like that.

00:13:59 Speaker 4

It really freaked me out, too.

00:14:01 Speaker 4

I hate to admit this, but.

00:14:04 Speaker 4

Last week, me and my boyfriend, we were in the kitchen cooking and it was later in the day around 8:00 o'clock.

00:14:11 Speaker 4

It was dark.

00:14:11 Speaker 4

Over here and we both.

00:14:13 Speaker 4

Heard a whistle come from our backyard.

00:14:16 Speaker 4

I wish that I was like making.

00:14:18 Speaker 4

This up but.

00:14:18 Speaker 4

We both were like, did you just hear that?

00:14:22 Speaker 4

And we we both we're like, OK, we're gonna ignore.

00:14:26 Speaker 4

That that didn't happen.

00:14:28 Speaker 4

Because that's what I've learned from the tick Tock comments.

00:14:31 Speaker 4

If you hear a whistle and it just ignore it, do not investigate it and then also my boyfriend, he told me this a couple days ago.

00:14:42 Speaker 4

He was freaked out to tell me this because he.

00:14:44 Speaker 4

Doesn't want me.

00:14:44 Speaker 4

To think that he's going crazy or anything.

00:14:47 Speaker 4

But he said that ever.

00:14:49 Speaker 4

Since we've got home.

00:14:51 Speaker 4

He is just being been seeing dark shadows, like in the corner of his eye, just like walking by him and he's never had anything like.

00:14:59 Speaker 4

That happen before.

00:15:00 Speaker 4

So it's really freaking.

00:15:01 Speaker 4

Him out so.

00:15:02 Speaker 4

We are looking into like to staging our houses or we've been told to go to like a medicine.

00:15:10 Speaker 4

And to get rid of whatever happened, but it's definitely been scary.

00:15:16

At our house.

00:15:17 Speaker 4

So we've, we've never had anything like that.

00:15:20 Speaker 4

Happened before, so it's been an experience.

00:15:25 Speaker 4

So I have.

00:15:26 Speaker 4

Always believed in ghosts.

00:15:28 Speaker 4

I've never.

00:15:29 Speaker 4

I'm open to like other monsters and stuff, you know?

00:15:34 Speaker 4

Like and like witches, like skin walkers and stuff.

00:15:36 Speaker 4

I've never encountered anything like that.

00:15:38 Speaker 4

I've encountered ghosts.

00:15:40 Speaker 4

Before though, cuz we've gone to many haunted places.

00:15:45 Speaker 4

When I was a kid, I actually used Ouija board a lot with my friends and family.

00:15:52 Speaker 4

Yeah, that was my first experience with the paranormal, and after using that, I was a big believer in ghosts because I had a lot of crazy stuff happened.

00:16:02 Speaker 4

To me as a kid.

00:16:04 Speaker 4

So yeah, I've I've believed in that stuff.

00:16:06 Speaker 4

Pretty much my whole life.

00:16:08 Speaker 4

I'd have to say after using the Ouija board.

00:16:12 Speaker 4

Me and my friend, we'd have sleepovers a lot at my house.

00:16:17 Speaker 4

So this was around when I was like, I don't know, 10 or 12 years old sometime in that range.

00:16:24 Speaker 4

So we would be in my house and we experienced this dark.

00:16:32 Speaker 4

Child like Shadow Figure a few times and this was the first time where I really.

00:16:39 Speaker 4

It was like, Oh my gosh, this stuff's real because both of.

00:16:42 Speaker 4

Us saw it.

00:16:44 Speaker 4

And prior to that, I was the only one experiencing it.

But we had a shared experience that was like, OK, this is real.

00:16:51 Speaker 4

So we were sitting in my face.

00:16:57 Speaker 4

To the left.

00:16:58 Speaker 4

Of us, we saw this figure just crawl across the basement floor.

00:17:05 Speaker 4

And it was just this dark, like child, like figure.

00:17:08 Speaker 4

It just crawled like so fast.

00:17:10 Speaker 4

And both of us stopped.

00:17:12 Speaker 4

We were doing.

00:17:13 Speaker 4

And we were like.

00:17:15 Speaker 4

Did you just see it and?

00:17:19 Speaker 4

I was like, Oh my.

00:17:19 Speaker 4

Gosh, like my brother has to be down.

00:17:22 Speaker 4

Here, he's probably just messing with us.

00:17:23 Speaker 4

He just, like, crawled in the basement and like we went over and looked and there was nobody downstairs.

00:17:28 Speaker 4

My brother was even home and we were like, Oh my gosh.

00:17:34 Speaker 4

That that was a ghost like something.

00:17:36 Speaker 3

Just crawled across the floor.

00:17:37 Speaker 3

We both.

00:17:38 Speaker 4

Just saw that with the heck.

00:17:39 Speaker 4

Yeah, that was just like the first encounter right now.

00:17:42 Speaker 4

That was like a shared experience that made me really believe in ghosts.

00:17:49 Speaker 2

Definitely an interesting story because I am not that well versed in skin walkers.

00:17:55 Speaker 2

This is the.

00:17:55

As most.

00:17:55 Speaker 2

1st right.

00:17:55 Speaker 3

People are not.

00:17:57 Speaker 2

This is the first skinwalker story I'm pretty sure that we've had.

00:18:02 Speaker 2

And so it's pretty creepy to just see their experience along this hike.

00:18:07 Speaker 2

And then the fact that she's noticing her boyfriend is acting strange.

00:18:11 Speaker 2

Like, no.

00:18:12 Speaker 2

No, no, no, no.

00:18:14 Speaker 2

We're not going to do.

00:18:14 Speaker 2

That especially not.

00:18:16 Speaker 2

On a hike.

00:18:17 Speaker 3

I thought it was so interesting too for just like where they were hiking that it has this sort of Native American connection.

00:18:24 Speaker 3

And just to sort of reiterate what she said, a skin Walker is believed to be from Navajo culture and is a type of harmful witch.

00:18:33 Speaker 3

Who has the ability to turn into possess or disguise themselves as an animal?

00:18:38 Speaker 3

And obviously this was a really strange experience for them.

00:18:41 Speaker 3

They they weren't sure what was going on, what was following.

00:18:44 Speaker 3

To him.

00:18:45 Speaker 3

But she just said the more and more she researched into it like this was the only thing that made sense as to what it could have been.

00:18:53 Speaker 2

I don't even think I could research into it.

00:18:55 Speaker 3

After that, yeah.

00:18:57 Speaker 4

Look, I don't want.

00:18:57 Speaker 3

To know just ignorance, this list.

00:19:00 Speaker 2

Definitely won't make me think twice when I go hiking next time.

00:19:03 Speaker 3

Just don't do it at night, maybe.

00:19:05 Speaker 3

Yeah, that makes everything creepier, just in general.

00:19:09 Speaker 2

We're we're they hiking at?

00:19:10

Right.

00:19:11 Speaker 3

They were going back to their car, so it was like, yeah, yeah.

00:19:13 Speaker 2

Like like dusk or whatever.

00:19:16 Speaker 3

Well, if you have a story that you'd.
