Magic for Uncertain Times: Risk, Sovereignty, and Divination with Ivy Bromius

In this episode, I welcome my friend and returning guest Ivy Bromius of Circle Thrice back to the show. Ivy and I have known each other for a number of years, and her work brings together a wonderfully unusual - and extremely useful -combination of professional project management, practical enchantment, and magical timing through tarot and other divinatory arts.

We begin with risk: how can divination help us look toward the future without becoming trapped by fear? Ivy explains why thoughtfully considering what could go wrong is not the same as magically causing it to happen—and why facing a possible risk can actually make us feel more empowered, and capable of changing our course.

We discuss the emotional reality of fear, and explore courage and sovereignty: the ability to act according to our values, and work toward something better for ourselves, our families, and our communities.
