Emma and Amy / Emily Bridle

The truth is we can’t talk about our “physical” selves without acknowledging the connection between the mind and the body.

Did you know that our mental and conscious states, including our emotions and behaviours, have the ability to significantly influence our physical health outcomes, and reciprocally, our bodily physical health can impact our mental well-being.  This is referred to as the “mind-body connection” – the interconnectedness of our minds and bodies through various communication networks between our brain and the neurological, endocrine, and immune systems of our body.

As we mentioned last week one of our 5 recommended modes of physical expression was called “Mindfulness in Motion”.  The way we see it, is that the more we understand ourselves, then the more we can understand our bodies...and vice versa.

This week We sit down with  Emily Bridle, who is a passionate physical movement and expression specialist, ecologist, and owner of the Toronto & Muskoka based business SheWork.

She answers some of our pressing mid/body questions and gives us insight into the benefits of making this practice a part of our daily lives.
