:00 Opening and Welcome
SPEAKER_02Hey everybody, I was uh sitting here today and I these thoughts occurred to me. You know what the White House and skinny jeans have in common? Oh no ball room.
SPEAKER_10Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_02Uh do you know why we tell actors to break a leg? Because we hate it! Because every play and movie has a cast. Oh recently, my husband was trying to explain something very complicated to me, and I said, Honey, please explain it to me as if I was a child, and he responded, It's okay, Mikey, everything is fine. Grown-ups are handling it, go back to bed.
SPEAKER_09That sounds about right.
SPEAKER_11That sounds just like Alex.
SPEAKER_02Right. Did you know that dogs bark up to 400 times a day? But that's just a rough estimate. Oh and you know, sometimes these beginning jokes can be very NSFW, and I'm going to say why. Why? Oh my god. Let's get this new and improved BFFT on the rails so we can come off them very quickly.
SPEAKER_05I just got it! Don't walk, I just got it. I was really confused, but I'm fine now. I got it.
SPEAKER_02Okay, that's good. Well, greetings and move arc fluff to all the creatures in the Potoverse. I am Barely and you are listening to Barely Furcasting featuring Tabin. Welcome to the very first episode of our seven year. Tabin. Tabin, welcome to season seven.
SPEAKER_07How are you? Well, thank you. Uh it's I I'm I'm bladder flubbled because that's a word, that we have been doing this six years, and we are starting season seven. For all you furs out there that um may or may not know, a season for us isn't like just three months or something, it's an entire year. Literally an entire year. So we have literally been doing this non-stop. Like we haven't taken any breaks really non-stop for six months. Um I'm pretty I'm pretty excited that we're still going strong and um that we actually still have listeners, and that's really great. So that's how how I'm doing.
SPEAKER_02That's good. And of course, we have the Rogues Gallery of Furries with us as usual from all over the globe. Rain, TikTok, Chitardo, and Ziggy. How are all of you?
SPEAKER_10Hello, doing good. Luffy.
SPEAKER_12A little overheated. All right. Those Dusty Muffins?
SPEAKER_11Dusty Muffins.
SPEAKER_02That should have been somebody's name with Furlandia last time.
SPEAKER_11That was uh that was Betty White's character on Saturday Night Live. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_07I thought it was um um from the three amigos. Oh no, that's Dusty Bottoms. Dusty Bottoms, yes, Dusty Bottoms. That's Martin Schwartz's character. They're related. I think they're cousins.
SPEAKER_02That's right. So with the commencement of season seven, we have changed things up a little bit, added a few things, taken some things out, and changed the order of some of our regular segments. So what do you say we get into it? Yeah, let's do it. We get into it. All right. Uh so Tabin, you have the first two things up on the list. So what are you
:11 Taebyn Thoughts
SPEAKER_02gonna say?
SPEAKER_07Actually, first three, because I forgot to say some things. So I'll do those first. Time for Jesse for a walk, because we've gotta continue that tradition on how you should do about English. Uh how you should origin how you should do about English originated on February 15th, 24 recording. So that's we've been doing that two years, we've like gotta keep it up at this point. Okay. And um, so something I learned that I think probably all of you out there already know, but this is actually something I learned just yesterday. My honey told me that companies pay to be on higher shelves. It's it's they're called slotting fees or shelf priority fees. I thought like, you know, you go and get good milk, it's at the top shelf because it's I don't know, they do but they like companies pay places to do that. I didn't did all of you know that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because I have a high level.
SPEAKER_11Also because I drink a lot of alcohol. And I like alcohol.
SPEAKER_07And so companies pay for it, but then you know, like you get the things on the bottom shelf, and it's like the the restaurant or the I mean the store doesn't care. It's like they just don't pay them anyway. Okay. And um speaking of my honey, my honey got back from being gone before he was gone for a little while. And when he got back, he told me I don't like to brag about expensive trips I'm to go on, but I just got back from the plant store. Okay.
SPEAKER_10So he bought a lot of things.
SPEAKER_07Until he went on an expensive trip. To the plant store. To the plant store.
SPEAKER_10Oh, now we did it.
SPEAKER_02I had no idea that was gonna be so good.
SPEAKER_10Yes, it really did. I understood immediately because that's what my honey does.
SPEAKER_07Oh, he must he must have put down a lot of leaf. I should get my honey to talk to your honey, apparently, because yes. Um, okay, so I did
:10 Listener Shout Outs
SPEAKER_07that. So the next thing, something that I usually have been doing at the end of the show, but now I'm gonna bring it to the forefront. A few shout-outs to listeners. Um, so we have several listeners that listen have listened to every single one of our episodes from the beginning to end, like from season one, they've listened to everything. Maybe not in that order, but they've listened to everything single episode, which is amazing. Shout out. Um, Spooky, of course, you know that's you. The Otter, and Emberon Keniston. And sorry if I forgot any fur. Um, if any of you other furs out there have listened to like every single one of our episodes, and not just started it, but like actually listened to the very end, which is like crazy amazing, and we love you so much for it. Let us um Burley and I have. Me too. Oh, yeah. Okay, so I I will also give Rain and Ziggy and Barely a shout-out. No, you don't need to do that. We don't need shout-outs. Just this once, just to kick off the display. He won my little crown.
SPEAKER_11You got it this once.
SPEAKER_07Yay! Got it this once. Um, I'm a special. And a little uh shout-out to the newest active in the chat listener. Um I've mentioned before Albrecht the Fox. Welcome. Um Albrecht, he's been listening, he's been um chatting and stuff in the chat. Um, and I yeah, I apparently he still likes it because he's still there. So thank you for that.
SPEAKER_11Welcome, Albrecht.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yay, welcome.
SPEAKER_06Thank you everybody for listening. Yay! Everyone say yay! Yay!
:22 Furmations
SPEAKER_02Well, let's start this show with a little bit of zen, shall we, Tabin?
SPEAKER_07So I'm going to continue this segment I've been doing on the show for the past several seasons. Uh, about a affirmations. Affirmations to help you in your wonderful, beautiful life. And so I'll continue on reading these um in these are inspiring affirmation cards where your doggies are saying some nice little things, so we'll continue that. Shataro, what are you doing? I'm sending out. Is that what you're so every fur other should be really glad you weren't witnessing what we all just had?
SPEAKER_11You're supposed to sit still when you when you are meditating.
SPEAKER_07Oh, he was more like a fish. Like I've never seen a fish cheetah, but I think I just saw one. So the first affirmation, there's this chihuahua that's like mlepling. He's like sticking his tongue out the side of his mouth for whatever reason. Clepping, that's right, flepping. And he says, although I don't know how he can say this with his tongue like that, but he says, I shine bright, embracing my inner star on the back it says, Spotlight your achievements. Keep a record of your daily achievements, no matter how small. Reviewing them regularly will remind you of your capabilities and reinforce yourself for the second advice Good Nice The Second Affirmation for the second it's an Irish setter, and he says, I breathe in beauty and exhale stress. And on the back, it talks about arrow minotherapy breathing. Incorporate calming scents like lavender or chamomile into your breathing exercises, and then it goes on to say things about peace and calm and stuff. So our next and final affirmation for the week is a it's a pug with a wriggly face, and he looks concerned. And and and he says, I embrace my uniqueness with pride and confidence. Very appropriate for a pug like this.
SPEAKER_08Very much love.
SPEAKER_07And on the back, it uh talks about celebrating your traits. Write a list of your unique traits that you love about yourself and why they're important.
SPEAKER_08This reflection helps to reinforce self-acceptance and boost yourself. And that concludes this very surreal episode of affirmations.
SPEAKER_02I have a question for you though, Tabin.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_02Would you please, on affirmation number two, say that long word that starts with A again, please?
SPEAKER_07Aromatherapy.
SPEAKER_02Aromotherapy. Do you mean aromatherapy?
SPEAKER_06I do! I l that is the correct pronunciation of that word. I did not pronounce that correct pronunciation. What should you do about English? Arometherapy. Oh, wow.
SPEAKER_02Okay, that's a question as well. Aromatherapy. Aromatherapy. I had to figure out what that means.
SPEAKER_10Okay, what at the Irish Therapy?
SPEAKER_07You realize five minutes later, I know what he was trying to say.
SPEAKER_10What was that TikTok? I mean, uh, for the second one, it seems like the Irish setter would just say, what?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. They're kind of derpy dogs. They're a derpy dog. I had an Irish setter as a child and as a teenager, and that dog was about as derpy as you can get. Really? They're so cute, though. Oh, very derpy. I mean, just yeah, anyway.
:04 Rayne's Real or Ridiculous Random Facts
SPEAKER_02Well, let's chart one of our newer segments, Rain's Real or Ridiculous Random Facts.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_06Say that five times fast. Rain's real and rrrr read that I can't even say it's one half a time.
SPEAKER_11Welcome to Rain's Real or Ridiculous Random Facts. I'm gonna give read you guys two statements of fact, but only one of them is actually real. Your job is to figure out which one is the real fact and which one is ridiculous. Ridiculous I. The first one is called the Peter Piper Procession. So that was pretty good since you were uh, you know, saying tongue twisters. Uh it's a yearly contest held in Norway wherein participants compete to say the Peter Piper tongue twister the fastest. The current record for fastest was established in 2014 by James Horton from Minnesota. And our real or ridiculous fact number two is romantic poet Lord Byron kept a tame bear in his college dorm to protest the rule stating that dogs weren't allowed on the Trinity College campus.
SPEAKER_12Hmm.
SPEAKER_09Both of those sound very um True. Yes. I mean, Lord Byron was a kind of a strange person, so keeping it there could be interesting.
SPEAKER_11Yeah. So is James Horton. Hmm, I guess. And who'd go all the way to Norway to read a Peter Pepper Pika Pecca Pika Peppers?
SPEAKER_02And he always had the tame bear with him. It was the tame one he had at home, wasn't it? Always the tame.
SPEAKER_07Oh, that was wild.
SPEAKER_02Well like a bear. Well, let's see. I would say I'm gonna suggest that uh perhaps the tame bear is the true fact because that seems so outrageously rack ridiculous that it would be true.
SPEAKER_07I wonder as well. Yeah, I'm also gonna say that's the true one because I really like the idea of of a b of a bear suggesting that dogs weren't allowed on campus.
SPEAKER_11Watch you, TikTok.
SPEAKER_10Uh, I'm voting for the bear.
SPEAKER_09And I I'm gonna have to vote for the bear because, you know, it it sounds like something Lord Byron would do, just votes.
SPEAKER_11Okay, and I can reveal that the real fact is actually a bear.
unknownYay!
SPEAKER_03Dogs are not allowed in combos. It's not a dog, it's a bear. Right?
SPEAKER_07I hope it's I I have to admit that I'm a little prejudiced. I kind of picked that one just because, well, it had to do with dogs and and I'm a pup and everything. So it kind of struck a special nerve. So there's a conflict of interest. That's true. Okay, so there was two-fifths. No, one, two, there. How many of us there are there? One, two, three, four, five, six. There was a one-third conflict of interest there. Just a bit, yes. Just a bit. There's two, two, there's two, six. Okay, I'm gonna shut up now. Okay.
SPEAKER_02And who knows? And who knows the whole Peter Piper.
SPEAKER_07Picked a peck of pickled peppers. Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
SPEAKER_11How many peppers can Peter Piper pick? I think you left a line out.
SPEAKER_09I don't know it off the top of my head. I know Peter Piper picked up. That's the way I learned it. Peter Piper. You want to pick a peck of pickled peppers. If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, how do you think? Oh, you did Peter Piper pick.
SPEAKER_07I knew that, and the only reason I knew that is because there's a Dick Van Dyke episode called 100 Terrible Hours, in which Dick Van Dyke was just Dick Van Dyke reciting Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. Well, he had to because so what he he was this was in his college days. Well, the Dick Dyke Dyke show anyway, in his college day, he was um doing a disc jockey thing, and he was trying to break the world's record for longest hours, continually doing the disc jockey thing, and so every every hour or every 12 hours or something, he had to recite to the doctor Peter Piper picked up it. And so hilarity ensues because as time goes on, he doesn't do as well. Anyway, that's the only reason I know how that entire thing goes.
:22 Media
SPEAKER_02It's time for the thing that we're going to keep on there, and it's the media section.
unknownOh, TikTok.
SPEAKER_02Oh, poor TikTok. If you're watching the camera TikTok, you would have seen all of us are. Yes, it's like anyway. So I watched uh the classic movie The Great Escape, which is about a group of World War II POW officers that dug a tunnel to freedom outside a low security POW camp. Now I know it's based on a true story, but only a few actually got away. So it should have been the mediocre escape, I guess. I mean, you know, it's like for those who got away. I guess, yeah. Uh I also re-watched uh the Da Vinci Code, which is such a good movie. I was looking for it streaming and I couldn't find it streaming, and then I was over at the beach house this weekend and digging through their collection of DVDs, and there it was, and I said to Chris, we need to watch this.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Obviously. And then you weren't just streaming, you were screaming.
SPEAKER_02We were screaming, that's right. I watched a movie starring Pierce Brosnan on Netflix called Fast Charlie. And um, it's an action-packed sort of crime flick with some very graphic things that are actually pretty funny. Um, there's a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor in this. If you have a chance to watch it, I would definitely recommend it. I finished uh mating season, season one, which is oh my god, that was hilarious! It was just uh it's so raunchy, but so funny.
SPEAKER_12I have to say.
SPEAKER_02Okay with three bachelors living across the hall from two girls. Uh it's it's lighthearted and fun, but way edgier than friends because of course it's on Hulu and they can swear and show show the nipelles and all sorts of stuff like that.
SPEAKER_03Oh, the nipelles.
SPEAKER_02The nipelles, that's right. The boobas. The boobas. Uh it's lighthearted and fun. It uh I'm up to date on the latest RuPaul Rue Paul Dry Grace All-Stars. Bracket 3 has commenced, and this is the first time I remembered all the queens. Well, I remember that one. Yay! Um, so it's a mixed kind of uh week for television and video. So, Tabin, what have you been media in?
SPEAKER_07Well, first I will say I noticed we we don't have a pass today section, so I'm going to do a few past days really quick because I didn't notice.
SPEAKER_02Was that is that that was by design, yes.
SPEAKER_07That was by design. Okay, I didn't notice, so I'll do this really fast and then no more past today ever. Ever. Um, so the last two pass today's ever. Because it's really important, because this is for Titaro, because I saw that now there is a power wash simulator 2. Which I have played. Oh, you have, okay. Did you know that there's also power wash simulator 2, the Star Wars pack? That comes out in a month. I just told him about it.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, I did.
SPEAKER_09Well, and there's purchased it, but yeah.
SPEAKER_07Other special packs like Shrek and Wallace and Gromit and stuff. Okay, you already knew this. Um, also, just before Furlandia started, some for in the Furlandia chat said, has anyone seen a climbing? Because they're important, so they want to do some exercise. Has anyone seen a climbing gym around here? And I said, Watch the beginning of Star Trek V and you will see a climbing gym.
SPEAKER_12Oh, so that ends.
SPEAKER_07That's a great video. Um, okay, so media. Okay, so I talked about how I had um re-watched the first or was re-watching the first half of season three of Beastars because blah. Now I have started the second half of season three of Beastars, and when I re-watched the last episode of the first half, I was like, ah wow. I remember being so confused because I thought that was like the last episode, and I didn't find out till the next day that like there's a whole nother half of the season stuff. I was so glad to know that there's more, and I'm continuing on. So that's great. Oh, and so uh in one of the episodes, Lego She is looking on the internet to find a thing, and he says, so he's looking on around for it, and he says to himself, now where is it? Oh, there it is. And it was so cute! So I had to mention that. It was so cute. Um so anyway, there's that. Uh, we watched the first season of a Netflix show called Free Burt. Has anyone heard of Free Burt? No, no, but I know if you play that in Guitar Center, they will kick you out.
SPEAKER_02Yes. I bet Ernie knows about Bert. I was gonna say, is Ernie keeping him hostage somewhere?
SPEAKER_07Um he he's he's being kept hostage along with the dirt. You know, you're always seeing the signs about free dirt. Like now we know where he is. So it's a it's a show about a comedian whose name is Bert, whose shtick is to take his shirt off for whatever reason you have to watch it. But then his daughters get into an elite private school in Beverly Hills, and so then Bert has to change his ways to fit in. Hilarity ensues.
SPEAKER_11Um there's an actual real comedian who does who that's their actual stick.
SPEAKER_07Well, I think it's the same.
SPEAKER_11Blanking on remembering who it who it is, but I think maybe it's the same guy.
SPEAKER_07I think it's the same guy. His name's last name starts with a K. I don't know. Yeah, okay. Okay. Clingun. I didn't realize that's his research. Okay, so that's what that's about. Um we watched a movie. It's a 2026 movie called War Machine. I've heard of that. I haven't seen it though. Ah, it's really good. I recommend it. It only has like 6.3 out of 10 on IMDb, but I thought it was really good. Um, it's a movie with Dennis Quaid and Alan Richson, who plays Jack Reacher, which, you know, we love Jack Reacher, so it's really good. It's an action sci-fi movie, it's about a US Army Ranger, and that's Alan or Jack Reacher. Preacher who leads a team in a in a test to attempt to achieve the highest recognition. However, in the course of the test, they discover a quote unquote war machine from another world and they must fight for their lives to this. That's on Netflix. Um it was on neither Netflix or Amazon. I forget which we saw it. But uh yeah, no, I I re I definitely recommend um it's very suspenseful um in parts, but um I think it's really good. Um people I think I saw some reviews that said that the story was like not original or anything, but like who cares? It was a good show anyway. Right, yeah, there you go.
SPEAKER_11There's only like five original stories, anyways.
SPEAKER_07They're really are, it's like you kind of run out after five. So yeah, I'd recommend taking um a look. Uh what we've been watching, um, I've been playing Royal Kingdom, Balloon 6 a little bit, beat Saber a little bit, and I still haven't taken the time to continue to try and figure out One Deck Galaxy or Dominion, so maybe someday I will actually do that.
SPEAKER_06And that's what I have been media for the week. Oh my cow, oh my cow! Every first day, oh my cow! Oh my god, we're gonna go, I go, I go, oh my god.
SPEAKER_02Rain and Ziggy, what have you been up to, media-wise?
SPEAKER_11We really haven't watched anything this last week except for Animal Crackers. Good movie. 10 out of 10. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes. Uh the audience was was a little unruly, but uh they were they were pretty neat animals, anyways. So uh I've been playing a new game I got on Steam called Luna Abyss. It's a really cool bullet hell game set on a blood-red moon that appeared over Earth like a couple centuries ago. And it's like if Doom and Bioshock had a baby. It's kind of got that feel. Interesting. Yeah, really cool, uh creepy character design, some of the best voice acting I have ever experienced in any game. I mean, it's all top-tier voice acting, it's just really good. Uh, hauntingly beautiful soundtrack, great combat and platforming sections, so there's a little something for everybody in it. It's also got a real got some really lovely side stories in the game that you get to hear if you talk to every NPC that you're able to talk to in the game. Uh so you'll know if you're able to talk to them by going up to them, and if there's a speak icon pops up in front of them, you can press X and uh talk to them. There's some choices you can make that may out change the outcome of the story slightly, but uh these side stories are really more about just you know fleshing out the characters in the world. So yeah, talk to all the characters if you get the game. The two stories that particularly tug at the heartstrings is one about a gay couple named Everett and Orin, or Everett and Orion, I mean. It's really tragic and sad, but uh at the same time, you know, very, you know, very cute when you find out about them and how they got together. The other is uh about Ellie and Otis. This one's also very sad, but Ellie is just like the most chipper British mum type. She reminds me of uh James's mom. So it's really she's really cute. But uh she says something to the effect that even though she misses Otis since uh he went away, that he will always live on in her heart. And so even if she never sees again, she's happy for the memories. You know, she says there's nothing I'd want to say to him because you know he still lives in my heart. So it's just really it's a really cute, very, very nice kind of palette cleanser for the game because the game gets kind of heavy into other territories that are that are kind of sad.
SPEAKER_03Uh and the graphics is good.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, the graphics are really good. And it, I mean, for a for a game coming out of a not so big game studio, they're they're like maybe not even a single A game studio. They've only got a few games. Uh the game studio is Quali. Yeah, they're really good games that they've got on there. Uh the this one is their of course their newest and the best looking game. Um, this is called what? It's called Luna Abyss. Yes, highly recommend it. Very fun game. You can get it on Steam for $29. It's so, I mean, it's not a bank breaker. Uh, but yeah, really good game. Their other games are also available on there for uh less than this one. Uh and they get they've all got really high ratings. Uh so it's it's a pretty good little game studio. I can't say anything bad about them. The game is just a lot of fun, it's got a lot of replayability. You know, if you're not a really good platformer, you can put it in story mode and it gives you areas where you can just skip the platforming sections. It'll fly you through the platforming sections so you can see what you miss. But uh, you know, you just kind of fly through like you're on on wires. It just kind of pops you down there. It's really cool. Uh it's a lot of a lot of fun ways to play the game. The weapons are really cool. The you know, the characters are amazing. It's got a very anime style. And it's what's weird is most of the characters are depicted as kind of androgynous kind of women characters. They they've got you know fairly large chests like in the anime style, but but some of them are like like this guy. One of the one of the characters, I think his name is Fergus, and he's you're you're hearing him talk, but the the character that they have displayed on screen for him has you know has a has breasts and looks like.
SPEAKER_07So there's only about six or seven of them.
SPEAKER_11Okay. It's a little weird at first, but uh, like I said, what the the the game is just fantastic. I can't say that. You're a little weird at first. I am a little I'm a lot weird at first. Very weird. Yes. Um, but anyways, that's uh what I've been doing, Ziggy. What about you?
SPEAKER_03Oh, guess what? I've been playing Fortinighty. Yay! No, I don't think so. Yay! Well, the end of rivalry was good. Finally, Ice King won, despite all the dirty tricks Epic wanted to play. And now we're on season three, new island, new character, new spirit is going good.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, apparently Epic was very upset that Ice King won because that's not who that they had envisioned to win this uh season, this last season.
SPEAKER_03Who was supposed to win uh the other side, which was uh it was uh the rock foundation that was played by The Rock.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, The Rock was in that one, and uh yeah, The Rock lost.
SPEAKER_03Yes, so so basically there were three acts act one, uh Ice skin won. Ice two, the same, I skin won, act three, ice skin won. And then they came with the epilogue. It said, okay, forget about who won the last three acts. Now, who wins this one is going to be the real winner? Iskin won. Ice okay.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I love happening, because they like didn't want that to happen.
SPEAKER_02Alright, cool. TikTok, how about you?
SPEAKER_10Let's see, we got some Jeopardy in RuPaul's RuPaul's All-Stars, and I'll say yay to Crystal Method for making it to the next round. Nice. Yes, very good. Also listened to Royal Highness to hear the remaining segments that I hadn't heard on Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. And it was they had some hilarious moments in it. I always said busted up. Yes, they did. Yeah, very, very, very fun and funny. And also, you know, they I think it was actually you, Barley. You brought up, you know, you missed the thing about Egg saying, Is it strange that I have black hairs growing on my stones? Yeah. And he's saying this to Sir Dunk, and Sir Dunk says, Uh, I think it's strange that you're bringing this up to me. Yes. But but I thought it was a little bit of a hint when I thought about it later on, because when hopefully no spoilers here, but wouldn't they be white hairs?
SPEAKER_02They should be blonde hairs, yes. Because he's a Targaryen. They should be white hairs.
SPEAKER_10Oh my yolk!
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_10So maybe he's surprised that you know the carp, you know, the carpet isn't matching the drapes.
SPEAKER_02Doesn't match the drapes, yeah.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_02When did he have any drapes, he's bald. Right. Yeah, well.
SPEAKER_07I am so extremely confused. Like, there's six different conversations happening here at the same time. I don't even know what's going on.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02To give you to bring you up to speed, Taven. In the in the television show A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, there is it's a side story that George Rr Rr Martin wrote. And um, it's the tales of Dunk and Egg. And Dunk is Sir Duncan the Tall, and Egg is a small squire that he picks up along the way, a squeer, yes, that he picks up along the way. He turns out to be a Targaryen. Now, the Targaryens are all white-haired, and that's why they that's how they know that they're Targaryens. Well, that's not how they know, but that's the the breeding makes them white-haired. And so for him to ask about having black hairs on his stones was a little strange. And as TikTok said, kind of telling that perhaps there's a little bit of mixed breeding going on in there. Or something. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that is a little strange because I typically, if someone asks me about my stones, I say, Well, I mean, go look in the river out there. I don't know what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_10So the garden, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that that's that's that's very weird indeed. I agree. Okay, now now I'm caught up.
SPEAKER_09You're caught up. Okay, good. All right, Chitaro. Well, this time Pink Lemonade and I watched a few movies. Um, we watched Doctor Strange and the Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Okay. Um I I had seen the first one, but I realized after watching the second one that I didn't actually see the second one, to be honest. Um, there's so many movies in the uh in the Marvel universe that are like, oh my god, you know, he can't keep track of them. But I do love Benedict Cumberbatch. I think you know the the whole entire aspect of him being Doctor Strange, I think he makes a great Doctor Strange, to be honest. We also watched, because Pink never saw them, Smokey and the Bandit and Smokey and the Bandit 2. Those are classics. Oh my god, they are awesome, to be honest. I I think the star of the show was Fred, the Basset Hound, to be honest. You know, um, I read a little blurb that the reason why Burt Reynolds chose the Basset Hound to be the dog was because he he wasn't a an actor dog. He was just a dog that would do whatever and run around. And so that whole entire scene where he runs into the river and stuff like that, and and uh you know, Snowman is chasing after him in the water is kind of like unscripted, but it kind of just happened, so they kept it in the movie. Wow. But you know, but but I do have to say uh that when I was young, younger, I really wanted a transam because you know transams were kind of cool, and of course they had that big chicken of bird on it and stuff.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I wanted one too.
SPEAKER_09Yeah. Yeah, the thing was. But I will say, right, but I will say that because Jackie Gleason was in this movie, you know, it was funny. At the time when I watched this, I did not catch it, but I certainly have now. There was a scene where he was talking to his son, and he says, I can't believe you came from me. I'm gonna have to go home and slap your mother in the mouth. I thought immediately I thought of the honeymooners because of the fact of, you know, always. To the moon, Alice to the moon, Alice to the moon. One of these days. So it was kind of funny. Um, we also watched this movie called Rat Race. I love that. If you're familiar with it, love that movie. It has many big named actors in it, like uh, whoopi Goldberg, John Cleese, Rowan Atkinson, just to name a few. But it it's funny because it's a race that starts in Las Vegas and they're supposed to go to New Mexico, uh Silver Sp Silver Spurs, New Mexico, to to find two million dollars, and and it's rather interesting what ends up happening at the end. But I I I have to say the scene where Rowan Atkinson, who's playing this destranged foreigner, and not an English person, to be honest, it's more like uh Middle Eastern or something like that. And and he sits he goes and says, I'm on a race, I'm on a race, and he's racing down the stairs, and he gets to the lobby, and all of a sudden, poof, he falls asleep and stands there for like the longest time, and people are standing around and stuff like that. It's really hilarious. Um, you know, you would see that's worth ages. It's worth the watch, you know. And and I it it reminds me of the the movie A Mad, Mad, Mad Mad World. Mad World. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02It's actually a rework of that movie, yes.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, there's another movie called A Million Dollar Mystery. It's this sounds kind of like that too. I don't know if any of you see that.
SPEAKER_09Well, this one was two million dollars, and it was rather interesting too, because at the very end nobody wins, so to speak, but that I'm not gonna say very much more than that because it was rather interesting what happened at the end, but you know, but it is worth a while. Yeah, exactly, exactly. But I've also been playing a lot more Disney Dreamlight Valley, and I've obtained some characters from Mulan and Hercules and Inside Out. It's really fun. You know, I'm gonna say this just for you, Taven. There is a DLC that you have to pay for, and it's like 40 bucks that you can get Bambi. Oh, yeah. But you do not have Bambi yet. Yeah, well, yes. That's overcharging. I know, especially since you only get Bambi. Yeah, you get one buck, and that's 40 bucks for one buck? Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_09But but I but I enjoy I enjoy Disney Dreamlight Valley because there's, like I said before, there's lots of interesting interactions, and to watch some of these characters interact with each other is rather hilarious, specifically since you know you have Mother Gothel from Tangled, you know, uh teasing um the beast from Beauty and the Beast and doing various things. It's just kind of funny. Yeah, yeah. Um, but I've also been continuing on playing uh Forza Horizon 6, which is in Japan. It's really awesome. I just love the scenery. You have to go there all the time to play? Uh no, I can do it just from my bedroom. Oh, very cool. Wow. Yeah, yeah, I can go to Japan in my bedroom. Isn't that nice? Yeah, I don't even have teleporters already. Uh I I guess if you want to consider that, I guess. But you know, this is really fun because in the springtime, they have seasons in this game. Uh, you know, spring, summer, fall, and winter. And in the springtime, which just happened because it starts, it starts with summer and then goes through and then gets back to spring. And every week it changes. But this week it was beautiful, and this is the first time you've gotten to see it. But all the cherry blossoms were blooming and falling and raining from the you know, it was just beautiful and gorgeous. So you know, you can just go to Salem to see that too. And you can see. I can go to downtown Portland. I can go to downtown Portland to see cherry blossoms. But you know, in the game, you you get to run over these trees and and watch them go poof and go and explode into a whole mess of the things. You can't do that. You can't do no. If you if you run into a tree in a car, you go poof, yes.
SPEAKER_11Well, having lived in Salem too, there are a lot of people who would want to run over them because they do make a mess of everything once they start losing the pedals. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they can stain your car, so don't park near to the bliss.
SPEAKER_09They can stain you if you hit into a tree too hard, right? Because you're gonna go.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, too.
SPEAKER_09Splat. Anyway. Anyway, splat, yes. Anyway, that's all I've been mediating. Nice. All right.
SPEAKER_02One of our new sections is called Confused Tabin, which used to be uh things Tabin doesn't understand. Are you confused about anything, Tabin?
:00 Confused Taebyn
SPEAKER_07Hello! I'll take that as a yes. That is finished for sort of there's two things so I don't understand, and and you actually might know the reasons for this. So in P Star Season 3, episode 12, Louis is taking a lock on the door to try and get in, obviously. I mean maybe he's just taking it to try and sit there. I don't know. Anyway, he's picking a lot of a lockdown, like they blurred out. Is that like a Japanese thing or something?
SPEAKER_11No, it is a lock-making lawyer, and the reason for that is because they don't want people to know how to pick a lock. Exactly.
SPEAKER_07Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_09Um you know what I'm thinking.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Not just me.
SPEAKER_10MIT published a paper on lockpicking.
SPEAKER_09I I I will say, I will say, Taban, when I saw that scene, I had to go back and rewind just to make sure that it wasn't something weird that I missed or something like that.
SPEAKER_04So yeah.
SPEAKER_11No, I think it's I think it's a a criminal thing. Like I said, it's uh certain places it's illegal to show lockpicking because it's a criminal activity, even though it's not really a criminal activity. Right. But the but they'll show them shooting each other.
SPEAKER_12Right, no, right.
SPEAKER_07Or violence is far from superior to lockpicking.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, yeah, or eating your friend's leg, yes.
SPEAKER_07Yes. But that was season two. This is season three, it's a whole different thing. Yes. I also so okay, this happened actually just today. Do you remember? You know, back in the VHS days and stuff, there the the joke was if your VHS player doesn't work, um send off for this VHS tape and we'll teach you how to fix it and error and everything. Or if your phone doesn't work, call this number and we'll tell you how to fix it. So this actually literally happened to me today, not with that, but it's in the same genre. So all of a sudden my computer or key maybe it's because my posties are just too big, whatever, but the my computer keyboard, like the keys would still work, but they were doing funny things or something. So basically the keyboard wasn't working and I couldn't use it. So I Googled on my other computer. I I said the letters keys on my keyboard suddenly are not working in Windows 11. And then you know the AI overviews that we get these days? AI said, I kid you not, AI said, because your physical keyboard isn't working, you will need to open the on-screen keyboard, press the Windows key plus U, and blah blah blah. That was a little difficult to do, but Gemini would not work. Right.
SPEAKER_11When you can't use the keyboard, how are you supposed to use the keyboard? Yeah.
:16 Bearly's Bistro
SPEAKER_02Well, welcome to Barley's Bistro.
SPEAKER_07Well, thank you, Barely. How is your bistro going today?
SPEAKER_02What's on the menu? Well, this episode, I'm asking our in-house personalities, yes, you are all personalities, the strangest or most exotic food you have ever eaten and the circumstances surrounding it. I'll get started. Years ago, I was in the Army National Guard and I was deployed to South Korea in a support function for six months. While strolling the streets of Itewan Market in Seoul, there was a street vendor, food street vendor, preparing something that was very slimy looking. I approached and I asked what it was. He simply sliced off a piece, stuck a toothpick in it, and shoved it in my mouth, and he said, Sea slug! And I about barked. It wasn't good.
SPEAKER_11That didn't be very appetizing. I mean, slimy but satisfying. Neither. Neither.
SPEAKER_02Neither at all.
SPEAKER_11So who would like to go first then? I'll go. Okay. So uh I was in the Philippines and we had a little barbecue set out after we had gone through the Malatifai market. And uh Spiny Sea urchin. It looks scary, and I really didn't like the taste of the tech the taste or the texture of it. It was not for me.
SPEAKER_12So you didn't spine it.
SPEAKER_11No, the spines are there, like they they they they kind of like hollow the part out and they leave the spines on, and it's it's it's terrifying looking and just not appetizing. Yeah, well, I tried because I was being polite. They set out a big barbecue for us and a big you know, a big bunch of stuff. Everything else was delightful, including the ube ice cream, which is uh ube is a purple potato. Uh they they turned into ice cream there, and it's delicious. So good, but yeah, the sea urchin is for me. Yeah, not for me.
SPEAKER_05Ziggy!
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so so so so Burley was in South Korea, Rain was in the Philippines, when I was abroad in Chile. Wait, you were abroad? You were abroad. Wow, that must be rain didn't make it. So ecstatic. Have you ever watched Alien? Yes. Have you ever watched Alien and suddenly had a weird craving for their eggs? No. Let me tell you about Bikuroko. It's a shellfish with an oblong shell that looks like an alien cinnamorph egg. It's a large barnacle. So the tip has this clothes and everything. It's tasty, tender, a little bit sweet, hard to compare to anything else, but the Iami! Look it up on Google if you want to see the horror picoroko P-I-C-O-R-O-C-O Picoroko.
SPEAKER_07I think our later listeners, I think our little listeners um looked that up because I'm I I looked it up and I'm I'm traumatized.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, they look how big a facial.
SPEAKER_07All of our listeners out there, uh, so challenge for you. Uh look us up and write us in either via the email or um on the BFFT chat and tell us what your first reactions were.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I'll P-I-C-O-R-O-C-O. TikTok wanted to know how big is it? Maybe two inches and a half, three inches. Oh, okay, okay. Oh, I've had barnacle before.
SPEAKER_11A small little one. Yeah. These ones though, they do look like xenomorph eggs.
SPEAKER_03Yes, you gotta look it up.
SPEAKER_09Yes. Interesting. Well I well I I I will I will go next. Um and I'll I'll keep on the uh The exotic adventure because when I was a teenager, I went to Spain for a field trip. And while I was there, my classmates and teacher we met a family who ended up going to dinner with us. Well, believe it or not, we decided to go to a Chinese food restaurant. While we were in Spain, yeah, yeah. That's actually where I learned to use chopsticks, as a matter of fact, but that's another story. So they decided to order uh soup as an appetizer for all of us. And they didn't tell us what it was. They just said, here, let's order the soup, and you know, and it was rather strange. But when I got mine, it was rather odd, but it kind of sweet as well. And when I asked what it was, they said it was bird nest soup. Okay. It's made from the nests of swiflets. Um, it's basically the nest is made out of their saliva, and it cre and their saliva creates a nest, and that's what is cooked, is their saliva.
SPEAKER_05I don't think I approve of this.
SPEAKER_09Bird spit soup. Yeah, bird spit soup, basically. Yeah, yeah. It's actually not that bad. It tastes pretty good, um, but you know, it kind of throws you for a loop because you think it's you're eating something that you shouldn't be eating, and maybe you shouldn't. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Maybe you should just talk about it.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, it's kind of like Bruno. We don't talk about it. Hey?
SPEAKER_07We don't talk about Bruno. No, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no, no, Bruno.
SPEAKER_03Oh, uh in that song, you can see Bruno in the background dancing to that song.
SPEAKER_07Oh. We can see we can see Bruno, we just don't talk about it. That's right.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's right.
SPEAKER_07TikTok, have you had anything weird?
SPEAKER_10Well, let's see. Well, I didn't see Rain's thing earlier, so we'll return to uh that. Uh so I have a rather wide range of food taste, so it's tough for me to find weird, but I will say that sea urchin, uh aka Uti, is absolutely delicious.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_10Uh it's somewhat buttery with a slight oyster overtone, so a little taste of the sea with a buttery kind of thing. But but only when fresh.
SPEAKER_11Well, this is fresh because we were on the we were on a small island in the Philippines and I I didn't like it. It it's uh maybe it was the look that put me off, maybe it's the fact that I don't like oysters. That could have also been a thing.
SPEAKER_03Uh you know what uni is. Like at all. Which part of the sea? Go nuts.
SPEAKER_07Yes, go nuts. Why did you smile when when Ziggy just smiled?
SPEAKER_11Ziggy's a sadist. Yes.
SPEAKER_09Because he likes eating gonads. Yes.
SPEAKER_07Well, he does. Is that that new basketball team I keep hearing about? And when you go to some stadium, you go nuts. Go nuts, go nuts.
SPEAKER_03Let's play with the balls. Go nuts, go nuts. Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_10But I will say that when Uti is not fresh, it's trauma-inducing. It's like this is the worst thing I've ever indescribable. And I had it once when it was bad, and it was years before I tried it again. And my husband, uh boyfriend at the time, husband now, he said, No, really, it's good. Try it again. And I tried it at his restaurant. I was like, I've been missing all this time. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_11I mean, I would probably try it again. I would probably try it again, but it's it's just like that time, it it very much traumatized me. You know, it wasn't for me.
SPEAKER_07David, have you ever tried anything strange and exotic? There's so many different ways that I can answer that. But what I will say is, so I had this brand once, quote unquote friend, that came over and brought me this thing I didn't know what it was, but it turned out it had a funny name, and the name was Durian. And I I don't really think of him as my friend anymore.
SPEAKER_11No, anybody who brings Durian to your house is not your friend. That is an enemy. Yeah, your house is gonna stink for days.
SPEAKER_07It it turned yeah, it turned out that he's but he's been playing me for all these years, and yeah, we don't we don't talk anymore. He's kind of in the same class as Bruno. We we just don't talk about him anymore.
SPEAKER_09We don't talk about them anymore, yes.
SPEAKER_07Alright.
SPEAKER_02But what did you think of the durian?
SPEAKER_07I didn't try it.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. At all?
SPEAKER_07No? This pup is going like the smell is so off-putting.
SPEAKER_09The smell is the smell from the inside of the durian, but if you rinse it all off and you eat the actual fruit, it's really yummy.
SPEAKER_03I tried the candy, it was like sucking on a gas pipe.
SPEAKER_02It was like so when I was in Thailand, they have we have Dunkin' Donuts, they have durian donuts. It's a junior. Oh and all of their donuts have durian in it.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_11I do not approve this message. No, no, donuts are beautiful, delicious little piles of yummy dough.
SPEAKER_02They shouldn't be polluted by durian. They shouldn't be durianized, no. Oh no.
SPEAKER_10That sounds like a Star Trek species.
SPEAKER_11The durian empire has conquered us.
SPEAKER_02They stink. It's like their weapon under the ground. Their chief weapon is fear and surprise and stinkiness.
SPEAKER_09And sticky. It's very sticky, very expensive. It is. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and they would roast it, and you'd go someplace, and there'd be like this barbecuer with like seven or eight durian fruit on it while they were roasting it. And oh, I got it. It smelled like somebody took a dump in the parking lot. Yes.
SPEAKER_03They're not allowed in some hotels, public transport, and lanes, I think.
SPEAKER_11When I worked at Fleer in in uh in Wilsonville, Oregon, they had a sign-up on the thing that said no durian fruit in the cafeteria.
SPEAKER_02All right. Sounds good. Well, thank you all for visiting Barley's Bistro. Uh, the next time we talk about the Barley's Bistro, you'll be surprised at what we're going to talk about.
:13 Furry News
SPEAKER_02And that brings us up to our intrepid news reporter, TikTok. What have you got for us at the Furry News?
SPEAKER_10Alrighty. So uh folk uh first up, the folks at Pawprint Prototyping are pushing for a top-level domain or TLD of dot furry. Dum dum dummy.furry, that'd be great.
SPEAKER_02I like that. Yes. Me like he.
SPEAKER_10So to back up, paw print prototyp prototyping is basically say that three times fast. Yeah, right. I think they I think they intended that. But they're based in Santa Clara, California, and they're a hackerspace. And as defined on their website, a hackerspace, frequently known as a makerspace, is a community-driven organization where people with common interests in computers, machining, technology, science, digital art, and more can meet, socialize, and collaborate. Okay. Okay. But back to the dot furry. What would this do? Basically, one could have a domain name of dot furry, for example, bfft.furry.
SPEAKER_02Nice.
SPEAKER_10If you associated a website with that domain, it would be www.bfft.furry. Awesome. And anyway, that has potential. Let's see, the pawprint prototyping, I said it. Uh started a donation to website to learn more about this campaign and contribute at www.furry.org. Wow. That was a mouthful. Yes.
SPEAKER_07We're very proud of you that you made it through, TikTok. Yay, you're out.
SPEAKER_10We'll put it in the show notes. So normally to petition ICANN, the organization who's in charge of approving top-level domains and that sort of thing, it can cost around $250,000. Wow. Holy crap. Yeah.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, it's cheap.
SPEAKER_10Nope. Uh however, PopRit was able to enroll in the applicant support program, which is aimed at smaller organizations and can reduce fees by 75%.
SPEAKER_07When you said that just now, for whatever reason, what came to my mind was the uh emotional support nuggies that Shunaki gave me at AW one year. Anyway, okay. I just had that thought. Okay. Nuggies.
SPEAKER_10Nuggies.furry. I can see it now. I'm I'm buying it now. Wait a minute, wait a minute.
SPEAKER_11Sabin's new website.
SPEAKER_02What's a nuggy?
SPEAKER_11Like chicken nuggets.
SPEAKER_02Nuggets. Oh, oh, chicken nuggets. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Crispy chicken nuggies. Shout out to the fried chicken ladies.
SPEAKER_02I thought it was like a nuggy, you know. Oh, no, no.
SPEAKER_03Emotional support noogie. Much better than a noogie. Yes. Yes. How did it all follow?
SPEAKER_10So PopRit is looking to raise $90,000 to cover the fees associated with top-level domain registration. Perks of donations, which increase with the amount that you contribute. Start with vouchers for registering your own domain with dot furry. Yes. As swag levels increase, you can also receive stickers, digital wallpaper art, gifts, t-shirts, and even more domain vouchers and art. As of this report, the campaign is raised close to $60,000. Well, they're very close, then two-thirds of the way.
SPEAKER_03Very nice. Yes.
SPEAKER_10And second of all, a normie who writes for The Stranger, Seattle's long-running alt-weekly newspaper or alt-daily. Yeah, what N. Yeah. They visited uh Slightly Furry Cider Tap Room, which is also in Seattle, after learning the bar was serving cider-based cocktails.
SPEAKER_12What a surprise.
SPEAKER_10Yes.
SPEAKER_12It's a bar.
SPEAKER_10Right, yeah. But the reporter, um, Meg von Hoogins, uh mentioned Slightly Furry, won double gold twice in the Cidercraft Awards this spring for their screechy peach and perfectly pear ciders. Nice. They also won a judge's pick for their cinnambear cider. Nice cinnabar, which is infused with roasted cinnamon. The cider, which sounds like it's an apple pie in a bottle without being overly sweet, is then made into a cocktail with lime juice, mallord, and agnostora bitters. Malord? Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02Really? Malords? Yes. Yeah, malord is not my favorite. Oh my god, drink. Oh my lord.
SPEAKER_10Oh my god. I don't like it.
SPEAKER_11Do you?
SPEAKER_10I do.
SPEAKER_11I don't like it by itself. I've had it in a couple of cocktails where it was okay, but by itself it's gross. It's gross.
SPEAKER_12Okay.
SPEAKER_02It's like it's like MD 2020, or you know, it's just it's it's a fortified wine, basically. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I need it.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_10I like Absinthe as well, just straight up. So I think it's a good idea. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_02Well, if you like licorice, yeah, that's yeah. I'm not a big licorice fan. Me either. No, not licorice.
SPEAKER_10So this uh concoction is called the Trash Panda, looking at you, Rain. And it it can be tossed into a slurpee machine to make the trash panda slush.
SPEAKER_07Of course it can. Yes. Yeah. Everything is slushy.
SPEAKER_10The drink is reported to be savory and delicious by Meg and other reviews that I found online. Other cocktail examples include Malihoot, which is a tropical drink, Pims Up, and Musky Boyfriend.
SPEAKER_09Oh wow. Oh my cow. I bet that one smells good. Is it made with durian? I guess it's gonna be.
SPEAKER_11If your boyfriend smells like durian, get him into the bathtub right now.
SPEAKER_07Yes.
SPEAKER_10But that's the news for the later.
SPEAKER_11By the way, uh speaking of the The Stranger, you know, uh one time guest of the show, Matt Baum, was used to work for them. Yes. I think he still may write for them. I can't remember if he does or not.
SPEAKER_10Uh he does, I think he does like a little guess thing again. He mainly does lectures and other writings. I've wanted to get him to Furlandia for some sort of like uh Matt speaking. That's a great guy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, I really enjoyed having him on the show. We'll be talking about Furlandia later, and maybe we'll uh can't be able
:18 Upcoming Events
SPEAKER_02to get him in 2027 because we will probably be having a writer's track, I hope. Well, that takes us up to our upcoming events. Uh before I get to the list, henceforth, we will only be highlighting upcoming cons or events that are taking place between our episodes. So if you have a local event gathering, a meetup that is not included in this list, which by the way, we source this information from furrycons.com slash calendar. So if you want to event announce that's not on there and you want an announce on our show, send them to us at barelyfurcasting at gmail.com and we'll add it to this section. Uh be sure to include the name of the event, the dates, and the locations and times if they apply. So, with that, here are the upcoming events between this episode and our next one. Well the first one is Portcon Maine, which is taking place June 25th through the 28th in Portland, Maine. Unforgettable Taiwan Furry Gathering, uh UTFG, is taking place that same weekend, 27th through the 28th of June in Zubai City, Taiwan. The Sisfur is taking place June 28th through July 1st. For July Cisfer 2026 is taking place June 28th through July 3rd in the Czech Republic at a place that I'm not even going to try and pronounce because they've got so many things over the letters.
SPEAKER_07Wow, they have a lot of things going on right there.
SPEAKER_02Uh that same weekend, June 28th through July 5th in Achenkirch, Austria is Lakeside Furs 2026. AnthroCon 2026, of course, is taking place over the 4th of July weekend in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Indonesian weekend anthro gathering is taking place in Kuba Paten, Tangerang, Indonesia. July 4th through 12th.
SPEAKER_11I love that word. I love that name of that town. It reminds me of the Lost Boys.
SPEAKER_02Yes, it's like uh Furway 2026, taking place July 10th through the 12th in Brand Blue, Norway.
SPEAKER_03And of course, Moonfest, which we already talked about before, is taking place in Estelar Paipa Heli Centro Convenciones Paipa Boyoka, Colombia.
SPEAKER_02Thank you.
SPEAKER_11Thank you very much. Thank you very much. We do have a native Spanish speaker on those.
SPEAKER_07I love how Ziggy like fairly like started to try and Ziggy could tell. No, he's not. I'm just gonna take care of this right now.
SPEAKER_02It's like a helpful weasel. It's a helpful weasel. It's like, yeah, wait till I tap Ziggy for uh dubbing our entire podcast into Spanish someday. See what you've done to yourself.
SPEAKER_05Oh my god.

:13 Cheetaro's Movie Review
SPEAKER_00Click the link to help support the show becoming a reality.
SPEAKER_09Chitaro, do you have a movie review for us? I do. I do actually have a movie review this time. It's a movie review of the 2016 movie that is streaming on Netflix Netflix. Netflix! Netflix, that's right. It's called The Secret Life of Pets.
SPEAKER_11Yes, it's a fantastic movie.
SPEAKER_09So I was going through a whole entire list of movies, and um, what am I gonna watch for this week? And I noticed that there is The Secret Life of Pets 2, which I have not watched yet, but there is a second one that was done. And I thought I had to go through all of my list of movies that I reviewed because I swear that I had done this, right? And I had not, because this is actually my 80th movie review podcast. Wow. Yeah, and so so needless to say, um believe it or not, I never watched this movie for the podcast. So I thought, okay, this is a good movie to watch because you know, the secret life of pets. Well, the secret life of pets is rather interesting because it it's a movie that is in uh that's in New York, specifically near Central Park. And I will tell you that the animation in this is excellent because as you're as you're zooming across the the Central Park, you can see all the trees and the leaves, and it's so beautiful. But Max is the main character in this movie. Um and and Max is this this dog who has was adopted by Katie, and and he um you know they basically show that every day the human goes out of the place, and every day he like gets really sad, going, Oh no, you're gonna be gone forever, and and and you know, she comes back and like, oh I'm so excited, I'm so excited, you know, and so well one day she ends up um leaving and she ends up coming back with uh another dog. A big gigantic furry dog named Duke. And and Max does not really like Duke because you know it's like I was so happy and stuff all by myself, and now I have to share things with you type thing. Well, they end up going on this well. And then they um Duke ends up making Max get out of the park and get lost with by cats, and they end up getting their collars ripped off, and and all sort of of uh hilarity ensues at this point because they're kind of like running away from not only the cats, but they're also running away from the animal control people because they're trying to catch them. And and it's like it's kind of funny in in terms of uh of the stuff that ends up going on in this movie. As a matter of fact, one of the things that I thought was funny before I continue on, there was this one scene where they're showing all these different animals in the different rooms of apartments and whatnot, and there's this Dachshund who ends up going up on the kitchen counter and he goes up to a uh a big gigantic mixer and he pushes the bowl off and then he like springs himself underneath and then turns the machine on and the little rotating blade goes on his belly and his back, and he's just like, Oh, this is so much fun, you know. Um, okay. Maybe I made up the sound, but you know, it's like I like the sound. I like but you know, the the fun part of this movie is is not necessarily the fact that you know the the ant the the two dogs get lost, but it's how they end up getting lost uh and and end up um finding their way back home, so to speak. Um you know, they they end up meeting up with uh with these uh specifically four creatures. One is a rabbit, one is a pig, another is a lizard, and another is a bulldog.
SPEAKER_11He is an an insane rabbit.
SPEAKER_09Well that that being said, that is very true, you know, although there are moments when he has that beautiful like look on his face, like, oh, he's so cute and adorable, until he crap out of the animal control people. Yeah, yeah. And so so it's like, let's just show how fierce this bunny is, right? Well, they end up taking the dogs because they were in this animal control truck together, and they end up taking the dogs down and they do their thing, and and then they find out, you know, well, what happened because I killed my humans, and you know, this is why we're, you know, blah blah blah. And it's like, you killed them, how did you kill them? And then it turns out that they they lied, and then then they were getting chased, and i it's just kind of one uh hilarious scene after another. There's a lot of interesting things that happen in this movie. You know, there's there's animals that are driving cars, there's animals that are driving buses, you know, um, there's there's there's all sorts of things that happen. But you know, the the fun part of this is
SPEAKER_02I have to ask Did they let a pigeon drive the bus?
SPEAKER_09No, they did not let the pigeon drive the bus drive. No, but they did not. No. Although I will say there was a pigeon in this movie, and they did not let him on the bus at all. Or in a car for that matter. But I will say that this movie is rather interesting, you know, because it it doesn't really show um the the quote unquote secret life of pets. It just kind of shows what happens if your pets end up doing some weird things and finding themselves in the sewers of New York and figuring out how to get away from the well rabid rabbit that wants to come and kill you because you wronged him, so to speak. It has some awesome animation. You know, the the the scenes of of the downtown skyline of New York is amazing. And um and there's a lot of, I'm gonna tell you that this was done by the same the same movie studio that did uh Despicable Me. There's a lot of references to minions, and there's a lot of references, as a matter of fact, there's even one section of the very beginning where you can actually see uh Grood walking his dog, which is kind of funny. So there's a lot of of strange little coincidences in in this in terms of that. But you know, overall the the storyline is pretty good. It gives you some some really good uh uh in-depth into the creatures, and I would give this four creatures because the movie is a very good movie, it's worth the look, it's worth the scene, you know, watching the movie. As a matter of fact, I'm I've already get got it uh geared up to watch The Secret Life of Pets 2 um at some point here in the future, whether it's for the podcast or just for me to watch it, it's kind of up in the air in terms of it.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, I mean when I saw this movie, I I laughed my butt off. There's just so many good scenes in it. It's uh yeah, it's really well written, and yeah, everybody is all the voice acting is just on par with some of the best movies out there.
SPEAKER_09Absolutely, absolutely, and and like I said, you know, it it's totally worth the watch. Like I said, it's on Netflix, it's on there now. Um now if if you want to watch The Secret Life of Pets 2, you'll have to go to Disney to watch that because they're not on the same streaming platform, of course.
SPEAKER_11It is available on Amazon too, if I'm not mistaken.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, but everything on Amazon, you have to buy them or rent the movie and stuff like that. Yeah, they don't allow the thing.
SPEAKER_11I mean, if you don't have Disney Plus, it is worth it is worth going over to Amazon to rent it rather than have to try to get Disney Plus for just one movie. Yeah, but six or seven times. You can put your iPatch on and find it also.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, our yeah, so so like I said, Secret Life of Pets from 2016 Netflix, watch it. You will
:19 Math
SPEAKER_09be happy.
SPEAKER_02Okay, uh Taven, do you have some math for us?
SPEAKER_07First, I mean I do. So, in answer to your question, yes. Okay, all right. But uh our last recording, so we recorded on um well, whenever we did, the first recording of June. We didn't acknowledge that it's Pride Month, woo. Oh, and I just remember now.
SPEAKER_08Happy Pride, all you first pride months, why would we why would we happy pride?
SPEAKER_02Are there gay people in the furry community? Well, no, maybe I think there might be one or two. Oh no, that's amazing.
SPEAKER_07I mean, we're adjacent and everything. Okay, um, that we should unwind.
SPEAKER_03I mean, yeah. That's uh corporate for inclusivity.
SPEAKER_07Yes.
SPEAKER_02Um, yes. Well, I mean, the fact that all of us have husbands, so you know, true.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but we're but we're actually really just it's a it's it's a ploy, really. I mean it's a ploy.
SPEAKER_02It's a tax evasion, yes.
SPEAKER_07It's a tax right. Um, and quick little thing before math, I want to ask Chitaro, because I was just talking to my honey, and he wants to know too. Are there any little tidbits that our listeners would like to know about for Furlandia?
SPEAKER_09In terms of well, I am going to talk about uh Furlandia a little bit later in our shameless plugs.
SPEAKER_07So well, so this is.
SPEAKER_09So you'll have to wait until the end to hear those, though.
SPEAKER_07You will. So all you listeners out there, if you were thinking of turning off the show now. Don't if don't. Yeah, like don't place. Don't let the pigeon turn off the show. Right. So, um, yeah, so listeners, um make sure to listen to the end, and Chitara will talk a little bit about Perlandi. I'm excited, I don't know anything about it, so that's exciting. Okay, now math, that thing. Yeah, so actually, I wanted to do so. You first might know that I like talking about paradoxes every now and then, and I have another paradox I would like to talk about. And I'm not gonna do the usual paradox jokes because we've covered that a million times. Yes, a million, but so this one is called the mermaid wizard paradox or mermaid paradox, whatever you want to call it. Okay, did you just make that up? No, I did not. Okay, this is a thing.
SPEAKER_02Um sponsored by Starbucks. Oh god. No. With the slutty mermaid on the cup? Yeah, because those are her legs in the air.
SPEAKER_07I don't know anything about this, so I'm just gonna say no. I think that would be safest.
SPEAKER_03Remember next time.
SPEAKER_07This this uh paradox is similar to back in season three, episode 25, way back then, I talked about Hilbert's Infinite Rooms paradox, and um, I won't talk about that now, but for any further that's interested in hearing me talk about that, go to the math section of season three, episode 25. But this uh paradox has a similar sort of theme, and um let me just tell you what it is. So, I want to tell you what the uh thing is and then a fun and uh variant of it. So you've got this mermaid and she's in a lake, okay, and then you've got this wizard with um like an unlimited amount of money. So he has all these coins, and they're they're not special or anything, they all look the same, they're not they don't have anything written on it, they're just coins that are they're money. Okay, great. So the wizard, for whatever reason, wants to play this game with the mermaid, and how this works is at one minute until noon, he throws two of these coins into the lake to the mermaid, and they don't have the numbers on them or anything, but just for sake of um our remembering things, call them coin one and coin two. Okay, great. All right, so mermaid then throws back um coin number one, back to the wizard. So now mermaid has one coin. Okay, neat. Now, at half a minute until noon, the wizard does the same thing. He throws two coins to the mermaid. Uh, think of them as coins three and four, and mermaid throws back the second coin that she got, so the the original coin two. So she's has two coins, and okay, great. Now, um, a third of a minute before noon, same thing, wizard throws out two coins, call them coin five and six. Coin uh mermaid throws back the third coin that she got. So coin number three. And so it continues in this way a fourth of a minute before midnight, through the wizard throws two coins, the mermaid throws back that well, in this case the fourth coin, blah blah blah. And this just continues so that at one nth of a minute before midnight, or before noon, wizard would throw out two coins to the mermaid, mermaid would throw back the nth coin, and she would have n coins in her position. Are we following this? Yes, okay. So this just continues on, and the question is how many coins does the mermaid have at noon? Three. It's a good guess, it's a really good guess.
SPEAKER_10Two.
SPEAKER_07Any other guesses?
SPEAKER_09Well, ten. Yeah, I was about to say N, but it that sounds like it should only be one.
SPEAKER_07For example, at one one hundredth of a minute before noon, he throws out two coins, throws back the one hundredth coin, and she now has a hundred coins, right? Okay. Okay. So what about at the a thousandth minute before noon? Throws in two coins, she throws back coin number a thousand, and she has a thousand coins. A trillionth of a minute before noon? How many coins does she have?
SPEAKER_09Trillion.
SPEAKER_07And she's throwing back the trillionth. A big, huge, huge number before noon? How many coins does she have?
SPEAKER_09A big, huge, huge, big number.
SPEAKER_07So, and this keeps going, keeps going, keeps going. At noon, how many coins would you guess she has?
SPEAKER_09A huge big number.
SPEAKER_07A huge big number, maybe like infinitely many coins. Because this just keeps going on and on and on and on and on, and you never actually reach noon. But okay, great. So that makes sense. She has like an infinite amount of coins. She's rich, good for her. Now, but think of it if in another way you could think of it, but she's each time she's throwing back coin number n. So she doesn't have coin number 100, she doesn't have coin number a trillion, she doesn't have coin number a billion, billion, billion, big number. So in that case, at noon, she has no coins. So at the same time, she has no coins and infinitely many coins. Hmm.
SPEAKER_09Sounds like Schrdinger's cat.
SPEAKER_07It's it's a very Schrdinger's cat type thing. Schrdinger's penny, as it were. As it were.
SPEAKER_02Schrdinger's coin. Yes.
SPEAKER_07Okay, so take that. Now, in a slight variation, what if from the very beginning the uh mermaid threw back the first of the two coins that she got? So, not the coins in order like she had been doing. So, for example, um, a minute before midnight, um the wizard throws two coins, column one and two, and she throws back coin number one. Uh half a minute before midnight, the wizard throws out two coins. But now the mermaid, instead of throwing out um back coin two, she could throws back this would be coin three, the first of the two coins that the wizard just threw out. Do it again, uh third of the um minute before noon throws out two coins. This time, uh, so those would be what coins five and six. Then mermaid throws back coin five. So she's throwing back all the odd coins and keeping all the even coins. So this time, at midnight or at noon, she has infinitely many coins, but they're only the even numbered coins. And it's the same scenario, she's just counting differently. So, in one case, she has all the coins, infinitely many coins, at the same time she has no coins, and at the very same time she has only the even numbered coins. And that is a mystery of infinity. And this so that's the one.
SPEAKER_09But wouldn't she also have all the all the odd numbered coins too, then?
SPEAKER_07In the same way, exactly, exactly, Chitaro. And you can imagine then if you just if she just counts in different ways, you can come up with ways in which she keeps any of the coins she wants. She could keep the prime number coins if you do it just right. And this is one of the very intriguing cool things about infinity is that all kinds of things can happen or not happen. And this is also a good good demonstration of how infinity, a lot of us think of infinity like as like this really big number, but because of these types of things, infinity can't be a quote unquote finite number or a number at all because it doesn't, it doesn't adhere to finite arithmetic, you know, in this way. And it's really, really cool stuff. And I thought this was a really cool, interesting paradox that I would talk about and share with all you kind furs. So I hope you enjoyed it. I think I said my head hurts.
SPEAKER_02Hurts. Yes. I did my job. I did my job. Yes.
SPEAKER_11And if any fur out there uh understands all that, please write in to barely furcasting at gmail.com or it reminds me of that joke about about the the rabbi the preacher and the southern or the rabbi the priest and the southern preacher, where they decide they're gonna take half of the money in the collection plate and throw it in the air, and whatever lands you know, face up they keep. And uh the the southern preacher says, Well, I'm gonna take, you know, uh a third of the money and throw it up in the air, and whatever lands face up, you know, uh uh we'll keep and and the rest donate to charity. And the rabbi says, We're gonna take all of the money and throw it up in the air. Whatever God wants, he can keep. Whatever comes down, we keep. There you go.
SPEAKER_07That's exactly
:08 Shameless Plugs
SPEAKER_07the same thing. You're right on it there, Rain.
SPEAKER_02That's gonna be well that takes us up to our shameless plugs. I want to start with uh Royal Highness, as mentioned earlier, they've started the newest iteration of House of the Dragon. So tune into these two hilarious stoners as they watch and then talk about House of the Dragon season three, while enhanced with cannabis products.
SPEAKER_07And where can Barely uh where can Barely where can furs find this podcast, Barely? On any podcast platform.
SPEAKER_02Any podcast platform just like this podcast.
SPEAKER_07Just like this podcast. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Uh be sure to be.
SPEAKER_07So if you're listening to this podcast and not sure where to find it, just look on any podcast platform.
SPEAKER_02That's right. Just put Royal Highness with an exclamation point and look for the the um the logo with the what looks like the Game of Thrones chair, but it's actually made of pot leaves. So there we go. Um be sure to check out their back catalog of their 163 episodes that we've put out for them so far, and not to steal Chitaro's Thunder for for for later, but uh Ferlandia 2027 is in the planning and should be Pedabytes of Fun. That more on that later. Yes, uh, there are so many details being ironed out as Ferlandia has finally made it to the big league, quote unquote, uh, because of the numbers. Big dogs. Yes, the good furry awards, of course, which we received in nomination. The nominations are open until June 30th, which is just three days away from the release of this episode. Rain, what about you? What have you got to plug?
SPEAKER_07You sure do nominate us and say hi. Yes.
SPEAKER_11Yes, indeed do. We've got uh Three to Who, the monthly Doctor Who podcast. We're myself barely and James discuss all things Doctor Who this month and next month. We're talking about Unit and the recent cancellation of Doctor Who. Yeah. That's gonna be a huge uh yes, uh huge thing, yes, huge another bummer, but uh we're gonna talk through it and try and try and uh allay others' fear of Doctor Who being gone. Um but uh also there's my YouTube channel where I have my new show, Raccoon. I talk about abandoned places and things and spooky tales and true crime. You can find it on youtube.com forward slash at Rain Raccoon, R-A-Y-N-E, R-A-C-C. O-O-N.
SPEAKER_07And I noticed, um, and this was actually even a week ago, your not the last episode, but the one before that had like already 163 views. It's like you're more popular than us right now.
SPEAKER_11It's it's that one did well, the others haven't. Uh my Colonian Dignidad episode unfortunately kicked me out of the algorithm for a bit uh because it it had uh some adult uh themes to it and was a little bit darker than YouTube wanted to promote. So I'm trying to claw my way back up uh the ranks again. Anyways, if you'd go watch, uh watch and like and subscribe, I would very much appreciate it. Also, I have all my social links and project links available on my Linktree, L-A-N-K-T-R.e-E forward slash rain raccoon. That's R-A-Y-N-E-R-A-C-C O-O-N.
SPEAKER_02G-U-M-D-R-O-P. Gumdrop, yes. Ziggy, how about you? What do you get to plug?
SPEAKER_03I don't know. If you see a green haired raccoon named Apache Bistach on Fortinite, don't steal my spirits, I'm gonna get you.
SPEAKER_02Alright.
SPEAKER_03Alright, TikTok, how about you?
SPEAKER_10So, only thing I have coming up is Portland Pride Parade in July with Chitaro.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, the Portland Pride Parade. I love that segue with it's basically uh get out the float, Slabtown Scamper, and Plush have all conglomed each other together with each other, and we're going to be doing um the Pride Parade. Um, there's going to be inflatables, there's going to be furs, there's going to be fun. If you want more information, please feel free to um to DM me uh on uh telegram, uh Chitaro underscore spots, S-P-O-T-S. Uh, I'll give you more information if you like. But uh it's gonna be kind of fun. You know, there's always a first time for everything. And Bath has this wonderfully big, gigantic rainbow-colored snake that he just says that screams pride, so we have to do that. So yeah.
SPEAKER_11Especially screams pride for those who are as afraid of snakes.
SPEAKER_07And I have a picture of me with that big, huge rainbow snake.
SPEAKER_09All right. Yeah, yeah. Well, we're gonna be we're gonna be uh carrying that around uh in the Pride Parade. So uh if you want to be part of that, then uh like I said, uh message me on Telegram and I'll give you the link to where you can go and sign up to be a part of that. Otherwise, you can be part of the audience and watch us being uh carrying down the snake and stuff. Um I'm also going to be at plush um come July, uh, which is gonna be a week before Pride Parade, believe it or not. And uh and Jace, who is the person in charge of Plush, and myself are going to be promoting uh the Pride Parade um that week before. So uh feel free to come there and get some huggies at plush.
SPEAKER_07But what I also want to talk about is Did you just go do Safely and get huggies?
SPEAKER_09No. And what else I would like to talk about is Verlandia 2027, Ready Furry One. We are in the beginning stages of getting ready for Furlandia. Now, granted, Verlandia is the weekend of Memorial Day 2027. Now, granted, we just had Furlandia and we had our biggest one yet. As everybody knows, uh, Furlandia had 4,395 people. We are gearing towards the possibility of having upwards of 5,000 plus people this coming year easily. And so um the ready furry one, if you guys have watched the movie ready player one, it's kind of on the aspect of the book, not the movie, because the book has all types of gaming in it, and we're going to have all types of gaming. We're gonna have escape rooms, we're gonna have video games, we're gonna have arcade games, we're gonna have board games, we're going to have tabletop games, we're going to have video games, you know. Um and it it will be fun, and uh fursuit games is going to be really exciting because theoretically, from what I've been told by a couple of people who are trying to do this, that they're going to try to have it on theme. So it's going to be kind of fun. So go to furlandia.org forward slash 2027 and you'll be able to see a splash page. And if you're interested in wanting to volunteer, we're going to have hopefully before the end of this month, beginning of next, uh, information about being able to volunteer. Because having so many furries coming to uh our convention means that we need a whole slew of people volunteering. So if you're wanting to do something of that nature, text me on Telegram.
SPEAKER_05Uh again and say we should say that to Taro.
SPEAKER_09You know, I already have a whole slew of people texting me because ever since 2026 happened, I have had 40 to 50 text messages in Telegram saying how wonderful it was and how moved people were, and how how what a great time they had, and it was fun meeting certain people, and it was great seeing Jonah and wonderful meeting Griffin and all of this stuff. And and it's like, you know, I don't care at this point because I I feel like if anybody wants to message me, go for it. I don't care. My my doors are open, and and I do, you know, all I ask is that you don't ask for immediate response. Yeah, I would not.
SPEAKER_07If you had immediate response, is that no, yeah, yeah, don't immediate response.
SPEAKER_09But but you know, this one's gonna be really pleased to you. Yes, yeah, absolutely. But you know, I'm I'm gonna say, you know, what's really gonna be fun is since I'm the chair again for 2027, I'm going to say this that Barley, of course, is going to be my vice chair. So he is going to be getting some really awesome insights in terms of things. And so so together, you're you're on the spot now, Bernie.
SPEAKER_07You're stuck. Oh, I know. Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Well, we had a very good moment uh, you know, on on stage at closing ceremonies, and we all ended up having our our moment of um, let's say, uh crying moment, of course. But but it's like, you know, we we we're We're gonna do so much better next year in the regards of numbers in terms of where we're going to be. Uh, you know, I can't disclose the location of where Furlandia is yet because we don't have contracts, but I can tell you that based on what we're trying to do, it's going to be awesome. That's all I can say.
SPEAKER_02I can tell I can tell our listeners very very soundly and very specifically that it will be in Portland, Oregon.
SPEAKER_05Yes.
SPEAKER_09That is correct. Yes. That is correct. You know, and and it's kind of sad because of the fact that, you know, uh all I'm going to say is that the reason we do not have a contract yet is because, you know, as much as we loved having it at the Hyatt Regency, they were not as thrilled with us because they needed to see what we did and how we did it. And they were excitingly impressed by us, and we blew the doors off their hotel. We are now their largest event they ever had, as I've said before. And so if everything goes well, then you know, there we might be there. But I I I'm not putting words in my mouth in terms of where because I I don't want our deal falling through, so to speak. So I'm gonna wait until we have it in stone and it's written in pen. Yeah, don't jinx anything. So so look forward to hearing future stories of Furlandia 2027 Ready Furry One and uh Right here on the podcast. Right here on the podcast.
SPEAKER_07Tell all your friends and furs to listen to this podcast so you can get up-to-date info from the chair and con and a vice chair themselves on on Furlandia. So you don't want to miss out. You don't want to miss out.
SPEAKER_02You don't want to miss out. Alright, Tabin, what have you got to plug?
