This Week we had a power outage and technical difficulties, plus the Knicks, Justin graduates, Sister Marisa's big news, Hacks Series Finale, Four Seasons, Calabassas Confidential, Friends and Neighbors, Lab Grown Diamonds, Sports Illustrated, Friday Night Lights, Off Campus, Summer House, Kathy's advice and SO MUCH MORE

SPEAKER_01

Okay, we're starting over.

SPEAKER_02

You say that like it's fucking easy.

SPEAKER_01

I don't have it.

SPEAKER_02

It's starting over. Like I don't have the same energy now. This week on We Need to Talk, we talk twice, two times, three times. I don't know. We talk half this cluster podcast and the New York Knickerbox.

SPEAKER_01

So the first day that there's a sticker that says keep it simple. We have the most complicated morning ever where nothing's working. We have a power added. Exactly. There's dripping, not recording. Right. I guess the manifestation process is not working. It doesn't work.

SPEAKER_02

That's an excellent point.

SPEAKER_01

I think you also need to get a new drink.

SPEAKER_02

I know. I do.

SPEAKER_01

Where's the producer with the new drink?

SPEAKER_02

I actually do. Hold please.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so people, behind the scenes, here's what happened. It is now five after nine on Sunday morning. At 8:30, we did start recording and we were having a great show. And in Tanifly, New Jersey, the power went out. It took forever to reboot. But then when we got rebooted, neither one of us had the file of any of what we said for the first 10 or 15 minutes. So now we have to completely start the whole show over. And we were very high energy when this started. So now Kay and I, I'm just filling the listeners in on the past 15, 20 minutes about what happened. So Kay had already consumed half a beverage. She needs to replenish. Producer Ed's dripping wet. I'm not sure why. But NetNet is the show must, as usual, the show must go on. Right? The show must go on. Okay. All right, this is our dedication to our fans. Because I just said, do you want to just blow this off? Because it's a clusterfuck. The other thing that you guys need to know, I don't know if I said this already, but on Kevin is a sticky note. The first time there's ever been a sticky note ever for her.

SPEAKER_00

And it says, keep it simple. And today's the most non-simple recording we've ever had.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's her. It started out a complete mess. Oh my god. I'll cry.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. Okay. Alright, pretend like we're doing this for the first time. Remember like in high school musical when they had to get their shit together, they go.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Pretend like I'm doing this for the first time. We regained my enthusiasm for the first time in 27 years. The New York Knickerbockers are going to the NBA finals.

SPEAKER_00

I'm having a sense of deja vu.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, I'm just as excited as I was 10 minutes ago about the New York Knickerbox going to the NBA final. And we finally now know who our opponent is, so it is a rematch, everyone.

SPEAKER_01

I can't believe it's the exact same story as it was.

SPEAKER_02

But it can't end the same way. It just cannot end up the same way.

SPEAKER_01

Do we think Nixon's six? Do we think Nixon? Just praying.

SPEAKER_02

I said this to producer Ed yesterday. Or he said it to me actually, but he said, like the San Antonio Spurs are not going anywhere. They're a young team, you know, they're gonna be in the mix for years to come. Which is why they should just let us have it. Because we are not gonna be in the mix years to come. This is our year.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and I'm very concerned about this Wembyama guy.

SPEAKER_02

I know, he's an alien, he's huge, he's fast. When they clinched it, like the tears were flowing. We're sitting in the bar and we're just like, does Timothy Chalamet know our pain? No. No, he doesn't. And I love the way he loves the Knicks, and I love the way Knicks fans of all ages are bringing this city together, and we're all back, and it's amazing. But the struggle of 27 years is just really something.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, this is nuts. It's gonna be crazy. New York's gonna burn down. You realize that.

SPEAKER_02

I've watched every piece of content, me too, knowing the man, and now my entire feed is just off-campus and the New York Knicks. I think that's mine too. I mean, it's nuts. I've listened to off-campus songs, I watch the same clips, and then I go back to the Knicks.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if I sent it to you. There's a 20-minute recap of the eighth episode devoted to just Hannah and Garrett's love story. Have you seen that? No, I don't think I saw that one.

SPEAKER_02

It's so good. But I just keep listening to it in my car. It is so good.

SPEAKER_01

It's so good, and it's really her. That soundtrack is awesome. I think you know this. I only let myself do TikTok once a week now. And so last night I was by myself. I'm listening to all these off-campus videos and everything. And then I get these songs. One of them is by some guy named Eddie Dalton. I it's about being older, and I end up going down the rabbit hole. I listen to the whole album. I'm like, who is this guy? Who is this guy? And then another one is this older woman singing this song, I celebrate me. And then I go through, who is this girl? Who is this girl? Go through this whole thing, Eddie Dalton, Inga Rose. I'm like, oh, where maybe they're playing in New York. Maybe I can see them. And then I find out that they're not real people. They're AI. Right? I sent you a song. These songs are amazing. And they're fake. They're not real. I mean, I shouldn't say they're fake. They're real songs, they're amazing songs, but there are no singers. It's just so crazy. Because they're really good.

SPEAKER_02

I know it's like crazy what the future is gonna look like. Like they really sound we're nothing that's real. No, the song was great. That celebrate me one was amazing. It's so good. It's actually scary.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'll have producer Ed send the links out, but seriously, unbelievable. But anyway, back to the off-campus thing. Her song's amazing. I'm obsessed. I'm on now my third viewing, and I just can't stop watching it.

SPEAKER_02

We gotta talk about it in a minute, but before dive into it, where's my wine glass? My second wine. My second wine. It's a retoast. Yeah, it's a retoast. I'm retoasting or toasting for the first time to my godson Justin. We'll be out in Florida for his high school graduation. I can't believe he's graduating. I can't believe the baby of the family is graduating high school, so it's a very happy celebratory weekend. And so cheers to my boy.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, and then in the first take, we talked about the other good news that is not in this take because we don't have the recordings.

SPEAKER_02

My other good news, I didn't say last week, but it did go Instagram official. So I am allowed to shout it from the rooftops that my sister is having a baby. Yay! We're so, so, so excited. She's having a baby boy.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, maybe that we could talk about it.

SPEAKER_02

And she's having a baby boy, and we found out that she was having a boy when we were in Italy. So now that baby, my nephew, is gonna be Antonino. Whether she names it Billy or Bob or Ben, it's always gonna be Antonino.

SPEAKER_01

And you're gonna be called Zia. I do love Zia. Zia is cool. That's my name for you. So even so again, even if you don't call yourself that, I'll be calling you that.

SPEAKER_02

Z is definitely cool. So yeah, so I'm cheersing for like the 80th time to Marissa and to Justin. Some good news finally in the family.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. 2026 will be the good year. No, let's hope.

SPEAKER_02

All right, back to off campus. Okay, back to off campus. Okay. It's taken over. My job is talking about people, just everybody is talking about it. Yeah, because we were first to the party. I don't know if we were first, but we were like watching it. I know I read the books, I couldn't remember half the stuff. And then all the other thing is there's so many more books that I didn't even know about.

SPEAKER_01

Like meaning in the Briar universe? In the series, yeah. Yeah, because there's the original five, but then there's a new universe as well as the original five of which I only read three, and then there's the new universe. Right, where it's like the kids of these people.

SPEAKER_02

Which I what I really am enjoying is that on all these reels that I'm getting, I'm also getting clips of the book.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

And so the interesting part, most of the people that I know that had read the books and then watched the show really liked the book better than the show. But now I also know a lot of people who have watched the show and are going back and reading that first book with Garrett, and they enjoy the show better. Because you have a visual. So it's interesting. Yeah, it's interesting. I mean, I haven't, you know, I'm almost thinking of rereading the Ally Dean, or should I wait and watch it and then reread it?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. Well, but now you have a picture in your head of who they are. So it could be fun to do. So I've watched it complete twice and then clips everywhere. Songs, clips, everything. I'm in, I'm telling you, I'm in my third screening of the show.

SPEAKER_02

And I've played a lot of fuck Mary Kill. If you just do it on the show level, right? Fuck Mary Kill, The Summer I Turn Pretty, Heated Rivalry, Off Camp.

SPEAKER_01

Well, for me, that's so easy.

SPEAKER_02

Well, what is it?

SPEAKER_01

I kill the summer I turn pretty. I marry off campus and I have heated rivalry. Yeah. You're not marrying the summer I turn pretty.

SPEAKER_02

No, this is what I gotta do. I gotta marry, I'm gonna explain my logic. Okay. I'm gonna marry the summer I turn pretty. I'm going to fuck heated rivalry. And I have to kill off campus. Well, the reason being is I can never marry a Bruins player. I can't be I can't be married to a to a Bruin.

SPEAKER_01

How do you know all of them are gonna become Bruins? They're Bruins. Oh, that's what happens? They all get drafted to the Bruins?

SPEAKER_02

Well, not all, but they're most of them are Bruins. So I can't do that. I can't live like that. It can't happen. I just gotta be with Conrad. I can't be a Bruin.

SPEAKER_01

You're gonna pick Conrad over Dean or Garrett or guys like over here.

SPEAKER_02

Conrad has money and his father has a lot of champagne, and we're gonna be great.

SPEAKER_01

His father has a lot of champagne.

SPEAKER_02

I cannot be married to a Bruin. It can't happen. What if they got traded? You're making a very rash decision. No, I'm not making a rash decision. I'm not so that's my decision. That's crazy to me. Yeah, no, that's my decision.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, you could do fuck married kill with the people. I mean, it's fun.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm sure. It's totally fun. I have to start playing that now.

SPEAKER_02

I'm into it. I'm into it. All right, no, you don't watch it, but we had the part one of our three-part summer house reunion. And is Andy the host? Of course. That's the clips I've been seeing where he's wearing a pink suit. Yes, very intense. I had to go to Marissa's and watch it. I mean, it was very intense.

SPEAKER_01

There were a lot of watch parties for that.

SPEAKER_02

Now we have two more, which is ridiculous. They're dragging it out, but I get it. Okay, fine. And I just want to say this these two people, Amanda and Wes, have zero remorse. She's sassy. He's ridiculous. I was really kind of taken back by the way they presented themselves. And then before the reunion even airs, all over my social media, they're on a plane of Rome. These two are fleeing the country. I love it. So they just don't give a shit.

SPEAKER_01

They've done all this damage and they're like, see ya bye, we're out.

SPEAKER_02

You know, and there's all the people that argue that some people think a lot of it is scripted, but it's ending poorly for these two. Whatever the future has for them, right now, it's not good.

SPEAKER_01

Are they gonna get brand deals or do you think they're gonna be blocked from everything?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. They haven't announced who's coming back for Summer House.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

I heard Sierra said she's not coming back if Wes comes back.

SPEAKER_01

Obviously, I didn't watch it. What was Andy's take? How did he handle all of this? And did he do a good job so far?

SPEAKER_02

When it comes to that, he's the best. And he was great. And he was trying to hold him accountable. But also the thing is, you could spend three hours just on this topic. And he's gotta go to the other storylines. Otherwise, what's the point? It was actually really intense. Was it super awkward? It was awkward, and she was awkward and sassy and eye-rolling. And at one point she said, Fuck you to Sierra. I'm like, what? And then Sierra's sitting next to Kyle on, you know how they divide the couches. Oh wow. Okay. Too much. So all right, so we have two more parts of that. So that was that was also consuming some of my feed in between the Knicks and off campus.

SPEAKER_01

Did you see any of the sports illustrated runway from yesterday or from this weekend in Miami? Did you see any of it? I didn't, no, but because everybody from all the shows were the runway models. Yes. And so was Alex Earl, and so was Bethany Frankel, but all the people that we're familiar with, they're all on the runway and they all look incredible. They look incredible. Yeah. And the Nader sisters were all in. I gotta go look at it. Yes. Unbelievable. Did you also see that Friday Night Lights had a reunion thing? Yeah, there's a reboot, not with the same cast. They're doing a documentary, and so they have the full cast at the ATX Festival. Which was awesome. Everything great. I've been consuming that information.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And they're saying that this documentary will air before the reboot of the show airs. I don't know how you can reboot perfection, but okay.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, why do we always have to have these reboots? Yeah, just don't call it Friday night lights. Why don't we call it something else? Yes, make another show that kind of is like Friday night lights. Like, why is it have to be a reboot? Saturday morning sun.

SPEAKER_01

Right, whatever. Oh my lord. Even just in the videos that I saw where Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler have that chemistry and they're going back and forth and they're completing each other's sentences as if they were they're the best. The coach and Tammy.

SPEAKER_02

I saw clips and little pieces of it, so I have to go back and watch more, and everyone looks great. Everybody looks so good. Yeah, they were awesome. We had the series finale of hacks. Okay, so what did you think? I think that this season was amazing. Yeah. I think they gave the viewers what they wanted because it's always been about them two and their relationship and the love they have for one another. So I feel like this season totally portrayed that. I was stressing out.

SPEAKER_01

I was stressing out. I don't want to give it away in case people are behind schedule, but the way it started was super stressful. And I said, Oh no, no, no, no, no. We're not ending like this.

SPEAKER_02

You know, even though I'm a little mad at producer ed, this toilet paper holding the microphone while I'm on location actually acts as tissues as well. Yeah. So it's really working out nicely. Great MacGyver. I love it. It's a great MacGyver. Yes, I was stressing out very badly. But all in all, great. Great way to end.

SPEAKER_01

I have one complaint and I have an idea. I really would have liked to see her Madison Square Garden set. Like I would have liked to see the performance. And what I wish they would have done is actually have her do it and then make it a pretend stand-up special. You know what I mean? Now that the show is over, they should say, if you want to see Deborah Gaelic, extra bonus episode. Yeah, I agree with you. Because we don't know. Did she kill? I mean, we think she killed, we're not sure. Said she did. Yeah, but I feel like with all the work they did on getting ready for the special, I would have liked to see what they came out with. So I'm hoping that maybe behind the scenes or something, we'll get her stand up. Wouldn't that be cool? That would be great. That's a great idea. HBO is definitely listening. They'll do it. Yeah. So smart.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I was stressed out about everything. A range of emotions. But what a piece of happiness, because I was watching it on the plane coming to Florida, is they are at Carbone in Vegas. And Jean Smart says, order whatever you want. Everything's on me, obviously. Right. And she says immediately, Great, getting the Dover Soul. And that has always been my grandfather's line. When you know you're not paying, you get the Dover Soul. Get the Dover Soul. So I was so happy.

SPEAKER_01

I had a big smile on the plane because I was like, yes. Yeah. It ended up being a very satisfying finale, but it started out wrong. I thought to myself, oh no, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_02

And overall, a great show. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It was all right.

SPEAKER_02

So if there's anybody that is a loyal listener of We Need to Talk who has not watched the show Hacks on HBO and somehow living slightly under a rock. You need to watch it. You need to watch it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Because now they're all there, available for you, all the seasons. There was only the one season that when they were not talking that we really didn't love. We got through it. And and we thought that it was more just us. But he says the same thing.

SPEAKER_02

But now that you really could see that everyone was so happy with this season. Yes. Alright, that's it. Moving on.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

So the new season. Four seasons, right?

SPEAKER_01

The new season of four seasons is back. And it should have never came back. It should have never came back. Okay. I didn't love season one at all. Me either. Season two. Well, I didn't love it, but I will say this. I love Tina Fae. I love Tina Fae, and I felt like a lot of the issues that were going on with everybody perhaps resonated a bit too deep for me personally because they're all in the same age. They're all going through different things with couples and different things with their lives that me, my friends, all of us are going through or have gone through. So I felt that there was some realistic storylines there. However, the show is not funny.

SPEAKER_02

It's not a funny show. Before you said the show isn't funny, your statement just now is like a reason why you liked it or enjoyed this season. For me, that is the exact reason why I didn't like it too real. I don't need this shit. You're supposed to be a comedy.

SPEAKER_01

There is nothing fucking funny about the show. No, it was very heavy and very deep. Here's the thing we both watched all of it, right? Like when did it drop? Thursday? I watched it all because we are a stupid people. But it wasn't painful in that it was bad acting or bad writing. Oh no, it's not bad acting. It's not like that. It's just that it's heavy. And I just got the feeling that Tina Faye and all her friends, even though they're celebrities, were going through a lot and it all came through in the scripts. But it's not a comedy, people.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's just nothing funny about it.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_02

That's exactly it. It was too much. I hope this is it.

SPEAKER_01

I hope it doesn't come back. I'm good. Yeah. I don't really need to see it again. Is it a sophomore slump? No, because the first one wasn't good. No. They're not good. The scripts aren't bad, and the acting's not bad. It's just not what we thought it would be because the movie was so awesome. Yeah, no, it's not it. And the movie was fun. I'll tell you what is it?

SPEAKER_02

What is it is your friends and neighbors. And I'm not up to date, so don't give it away. Down. This is so much better than season one. Absolutely agree with you. So far, season two. My amazing God. Yes. Agree. I I don't know why, but I don't, I don't think you and I even discussed this, but I thought it was ending in eight episodes. Yes, ten. But it's not. After eight, I was like, oh my God. And then it didn't. And then there was another one. Now the way nine ends is insanity. When you watch it, you're going to flip. So now we have one more. I'm not going to say anything because it just came out and you didn't watch it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Yeah, I'm behind.

SPEAKER_02

And I will say, I think I put it on my top five last year. I don't know if you did. Like maybe it was one of your alternate ones. Okay. I definitely put it on the last five. This year so far it's in my top five.

SPEAKER_01

But this year blows away last year. Oh my gosh. It's so much better than it was. John Ham, I gotta say, as we all know, I fucking love him. I used to hate him after Mad Men.

SPEAKER_02

You're bugging.

SPEAKER_01

Then between this show and also the interview he did on Amy Poeh's podcast, turned my head around.

SPEAKER_02

He's the best. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I really do enjoy him thoroughly right now. Yeah, he's the best. And James Martin, incredible.

SPEAKER_02

Can you explain to me who these people are in Calabasas Confidential? Okay, so I don't know who these people are. Yes, I saw Brett Michael's kid. Do you remember when we used to watch her when she was little? Yes, I do. She's actually the only pretty one on the show. So she's beautiful. And I don't know, some rapper. Who was the rapper? I forget who the rapper was.

SPEAKER_01

Master P.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, Master P's kid. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

But who the fuck are these people and why do they have a show? For some reason, I thought this show was produced by the Kardashians, but it's not. There's another Calabasas show coming that the Kardashians produced. I'm not sure what's going on with this show, but it's on my. Okay, so you got Jordan Woods' sister. Oh, yeah, Jordan Woods' sister. Scandalous. Right. Then you got Masterpiece on Hersey. Yes. Then you got Brett Michael's daughter, who's beautiful. Right. Then you have this girl named Suede, who I don't think has anything to do with these kids. She's just on for the along for the ride because Nicole, Suede, and Gemma are all influencers. Gemma and Nicole and Emma and Jody and Kamura all went to Calabasas High. I watched the first episode. It's ridiculous. Are you watching? Watching anymore? I'm not.

SPEAKER_02

I don't think I have it in me. Of course, Brother Paul says he's enjoying the first episode. Of course, you are. I don't know. Maybe the girls are all running around, but I don't really find anybody that attractive except for Rain.

SPEAKER_01

No, and I think they thought that Dylan was gonna be a breakout star. And honestly, Dylan's a tool. Dylan's an asshole. Yeah, I don't understand it. There's nobody in the entire cast that is even likable. I'm just fascinated with the money. I always love to see these kids and their homes and the what does it and they're all alone. There's nobody else at home. There's nobody around. The only adult we saw was Master P. We didn't see anybody else. No, that other one had uh red heads with her father who seems oblivious.

SPEAKER_02

It seems like what does he do?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

She's making more money than him. God bless America.

SPEAKER_01

The whole thing is bizarro land. We have enough reality shows that we could devote our attention to. This one's not gonna get much of my brain power. No, I don't know if I could do it. No, not when I can go watch off campus again. If I want high school drama or college drama, I'll go watch off campus again. I barely made it through the first episode. I was so bored. And you know I love that shit. I hope the Kardashian one is better. Well, you knew they didn't produce this one when Jordan Woods' sister's in it.

SPEAKER_02

Of course, it can't possibly very weird show.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not in.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, I'm not in. What else? Was there anything else? I didn't watch anything else this week. I've been consumed with the Knicks content.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, I really didn't either. It was Knicks, it was Yankees. Oh, but I want to I do want to give you a couple updates. I'm still watching Rhode Island, of course. Of course, yes. Yeah. I am getting my ears pierced on Wednesday. And I had to Basle Top. Thank you. For the third time, but I've had Basel Top. Yeah. So we have this guy at Bloomingdale's name Issa, who's always helped us with anything jewelry that wasn't through our guys in the city and stuff like that. So I went to get my gold balls because I thought I had 14 carat gold earrings, but I don't. So I had to go get gold balls to get my ears pierced with. Anyway, I asked him to show me two carrots in each ear, lab grown diamonds. Right. They're certified, they're F quality, which is seriously sick. They look insane. And so he said that he would give me the price of 2,200 bucks for the pair. And I said, if I wanted to get these earrings and they were real diamonds, how much would they cost? And he said they'd be $30,000. It's insanity. And for $2,200, I might as well just get them from him. They're right here. It comes with the certification. There's no downside to getting them even from Bloomingdale's. All right, so great. So you're telling me I got that Bloomingdale's is our guy? I'm gonna do a little bit more research. From the time that I get the ears pierced, they said eight weeks before I can put real earrings back. That's a long time. She wants eight weeks. I'm gonna go with all the rules because I want my ears to stay pierced. That's that. The second thing is we had a lot of people who did enjoy Kathy Garver.

SPEAKER_02

This is so fucking funny. So I'm at work. I get a text from my loyal listener, cousin Tammy, who says somebody burped on the podcast. And I'm like, that was Kathy's dog. I know, but I had not listened at that point yet. The dog. I text Ed and he's like, it's the dog. But maybe we should have said it was the dog.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I thought that when Ed What is Ed doing? Again with Ed. But I thought when Ed said to Kathy, who's that dog, it was because of the burp. But when you edited it, did you leave in who's that dog?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Oh. It's in there. Okay. Cousin Tammy. I don't know what's happening. Funny, she actually gave me the exact time.

SPEAKER_01

But I left it in intentionally because I felt like when Ed said who's that dog, that explains the burp. All right, got it.

SPEAKER_02

Kathy's dog is burping. This is what I mean, everyone. I thought it was a good interview. I did think it was a good interview. I've heard good things about it. People have said, but I do have something funny to talk about as it relates to the interview. So obviously I wasn't able to do the interview, so you did it with producer ad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So I wasn't aware of anything that was discussed.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So I come home from work.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And there's one single rose with like the baby breath wrapped up in the officially nicely wrapped. And he puts it in a vase. And I see it. So then he comes home and he's like, Did you see the rose? I got you. I was like, Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No response from you on the rose?

SPEAKER_02

He's like, I don't understand. You don't say anything about the rose. You don't like a rose? Like I got I went to the florist.

SPEAKER_01

You didn't say, Why did you get me a rose?

SPEAKER_02

No, because I went to the florist and guy wrapped up a rose. No, because I will say this producer Ed does buy flowers often, but I never get a single rose wrapped up like that. So I was, yeah, I'm not into it. Into it. And he goes, What? Single roses are what they hand you when you have to then throw it on the casket. So it doesn't do it for me. And he goes, You are so fucking nuts. I go, when somebody hands me a single rose, that's what it means. I'm throwing it like on a fucking casket. So no, I'm not looking for your single rose. So then he tells me that Kathy suggests in the interview she's giving relationship advice for her new book, which is the meeting.

SPEAKER_01

He recommended it.

SPEAKER_02

But Kathy, I apologize because I am just not into the single rose.

SPEAKER_01

I have PTSD. That's so funny. And so that's what happened. That is so funny. I don't like flowers. I like them. Yeah. But so my husband never gives me flowers because he knows I hate them. So he listened. Well, he gives you chocolate. Yes. He listened and he said, I'm not gonna listen to Kathy's advice. So I got pretzels, my chocolate covered pretzels.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly, exactly. But Ed followed it to the T. And it backfired.

SPEAKER_01

You gotta know your audience, right?

SPEAKER_02

You gotta know how to read the room. It's just me. It's just me. It's me. There's a lot of ladies that would love a single room.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, it's so funny.

SPEAKER_02

All right, yes, but we did get good feedback. So that's good. Okay. So those are anything else. That's it. What do you have?

SPEAKER_01

That was it. That's all I got.

SPEAKER_02

You have a game for me? You have an AI-generated game, like your AI-generated songs?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I do. All right. Okay, so because you're in Florida, I am. I did a Florida theme here. Oh shit. Okay. Well, it's all about TV shows and things that took place in Florida. Question number one. There are multiple choices here. In the Golden Girls, what city do Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia share their famous home in? Is it A, Fort Lauderdale, B, Miami, C, Tampa, or D, Orlando? Miami. That is correct. That I know. I love the Golden Girls. Okay, question number two on Dexter. Dexter works as a blood spatter analyst for which police department? With the Orlando PD, Tampa PD, Miami Metro PD, or Jacksonville PD?

SPEAKER_02

Is it Miami again? Yes. Oh my goodness. I just guessed because I mean it feels like he should be killing people in Miami.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. On Miami Vice, what are the first names of the two lead detectives played by Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas? Is it A, Jack and Rico? B, Sonny and Rico, C, Sonny and Marco, or D, Vic and Tubbs.

SPEAKER_02

It's sunny, definitely. And what was the other one?

SPEAKER_01

If you're going with Sunny or Sunny. Sunny, it's definitely Sunny. Okay, so if it's Sunny, then it's Sunny and Rico or Sunny and Marco? Sonny and Rico.

SPEAKER_02

Correct! Yeah. I know Sunny. Sonny. Come on. My advice. Very great show.

SPEAKER_01

Very, very good. Okay, so you're three for three. Okay. In the Netflix thriller bloodline, the Rayburn family runs what type of business in the Florida Keys? Was it A, a fishing charter company, B, a waterfront hotel, C, a boat repair shop, or D, a seafood restaurant? A hotel Yes!

SPEAKER_02

You trying to trick me with that other show we watched that that got canceled. They owned the charter company.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. Okay. The last one.

SPEAKER_02

Bloodline, also a good show.

SPEAKER_01

Great show. The first season, not the first one. First season, yeah. First season. Which Bravo reality show set in Miami was canceled and then revived on Peacock to massive fan excitement. Was it A? Love and Hip Hop Miami, Southern Charm Miami, The Real Housewives of Miami, or Below Deck Miami? The Real Housewives of Miami came back. Five to five, baby. You know you're Florida. Very good. So exciting. I watched it when it came back. It was exciting that it came back. I only watched it before it got canceled. I didn't watch it afterwards when it came back.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, I have no more alcohol because I mean this has been a fucking ride. It's been a ride.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what this is even gonna sound like because it's been a really long morning.

SPEAKER_02

In the words of producer Ed, you have to keep it simple. Keep it simple. Which isn't working. But congratulations, Justin. Love you. Have a great week, everyone. Let's go next. Let's go next.

SPEAKER_01

Love ya.
