SPEAKER_01

Hey, can you clean the screen?

SPEAKER_00

Fucking computer's so gnarly. You're supposed to clean your screen every week.

SPEAKER_01

Every week? This guy's as cleaned the screen since he got the computer. Can you also clean his keyboard with your fucking asbestos fingers on it? Asbestos fingers. This week on We Need to Talk. We of course talk about the Knicks parade. Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders are back for season three. And a cute rom-com, not rom-com voicemail for Isabel.

SPEAKER_00

Happy Sunday. Happy Father's Day to those who celebrate.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, should you get a glass of red wine? If you know you know.

SPEAKER_00

You know you know.

SPEAKER_01

I'm on a fucking bender, man. Let me just tell you something. I gotta get my life back since this Knicks run.

SPEAKER_00

Which is I was gonna say, this is a month already.

SPEAKER_01

This is more than a month. If you saw Ed's post, he says I started this journey on April 30th. I gotta get my life back. Yeah. At some point.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So it's six weeks. What a time to be alive, as they say in Hamilton.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's great. Happy summer. Today's the official first day of summer. So some point this summer I'm gonna get my life back.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I've been on a bender. It's just insane. We went to the parade, which was great, crazy.

SPEAKER_00

What time did you have to wake up to get there since they were closing things left and right?

SPEAKER_01

Well, we left from Miniola on a 450 train.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, was it past?

SPEAKER_01

So yes. We were downtown before 6 a.m.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

But I gotta say this. At some point, and I get, I do get it. I get the Canyon of Heroes. I don't get the Canyon of Heroes. I love all the history. I get that. But when you are projecting three million people, and he knew it, he said it in every press conference he gave leading up to the parade, he said three million people. So when you know that three million people are coming to the tiniest, narrowest place ever, you have to then say, maybe we should move it. Right. Maybe we should go down Fifth Avenue, like the Thanksgiving Day Parade, or maybe we should extend it so you could still pass through the Canyon of Heroes, but make it longer. It is just too dense and too small, and they could not accommodate it. They were not prepared, even though they were prepared.

SPEAKER_00

For Canyons of Heroes, didn't it start in like the 1920s or 30s when there wasn't a lot of people around? Like now that you're talking about epic celebrations like this and millions and millions of people, you're right. Like start where we start the parade.

SPEAKER_01

You have to do things differently. I've been to a lot of parades. I'm lucky to say that I've seen my teams in a parade, but it's different because you're talking about half the population hates the Yankees, or half the population hates the Giants, or half the population hates the Rangers. This is everyone. What are they? Three Nets fans in the world. The world was coming to see the first ever Nick parade.

SPEAKER_00

Right. It's history. They want to be part of it. That's right.

SPEAKER_01

So that part was insane. But we got very, very lucky. A lot of stuff went our way, which I feel has been summing up this run, especially for Ed. So a lot of things went our way, and we we got close and we saw everything. The only thing that I didn't see, and I'm so bummed, is I didn't see Jalen Brunson. I saw his wife on the float, which I love her and the baby so cute, wearing my dad's an MVP shirt, which was the best. But he got off his float right where we were. I saw when he goes into the club. He was into the crowd and he was like having everybody touch the trophy. And so I couldn't see on that level, right? Because I couldn't see people walking, right? Because it was too many people ahead of me. That sucked. But I did get to see him at Yankee Stadium the day before when he got a couple of years. Yeah, you looked out on that too. Yes. So I feel like a lot of things were going our way. So I can't complain. We got some good footage, and the city was electric. I know the media likes to put up all the negative stuff, but everybody that I encountered, everybody around me, we were together like sardines, everyone was happy and nice and couldn't have been any friendlier. And when the parade was over, we started walking because you couldn't get a subway, of course. So we're just walking. The streets are open, everyone's wearing Nick gear, everyone's high-fiving, everyone's singing. The subway there's going, they're going, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike. It was just the best feeling. We went all the way to them back to Penn Station, grabbing a cocktail and the line for merch for the MSG stores wrapped around the block.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they sold out all the merch.

SPEAKER_01

It was just so good. It was so great of a feeling. I'm not over it. I've bought a million things. Um, this whole summer I'm just going to wear Nick's paraphernalia.

SPEAKER_00

Well, right now, the delivery dates for all the Nick stuff is not until July.

SPEAKER_01

The official championship merch. Like you can't get the hat till August. You can't get the shirt till I don't know, sometime in July. I was lucky enough to get these things, but I'm just buying random stuff. I'm buying them on a subway. I don't know what I'm buying. I'm just buying everything. It's just nuts. It's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

The ripple effect is Ali Brunson is teaching a Pilates class at this country club by my house. Can't get a ticket. Sold out.

SPEAKER_01

I know. I just heard about that last night.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, everybody in my gym is going.

SPEAKER_01

Because my Roberta's sister-in-law, that's where we were yesterday.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, she's going?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, of course. And she wanted me to go. You can't get a ticket. I it's just a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

So if you can go, you need to report.

SPEAKER_01

But she's the best. You know what? She's getting her life back too because she posted on social media that she's catching up with Love Island, which is what I need to do.

SPEAKER_00

I haven't even watched an episode since this whole thing happened. I don't even know how you're gonna catch up. You need to bag it so that we don't have to talk about it all summer.

SPEAKER_01

It's so good. So I spent one day at the parade with all the people, right? All the different types of people. And then I went to the US Open the next day. It's how the other half lives. You go from the parade to the US Open, which was just quiet and beautiful. Oh, I didn't get to go the last time they were in Shinnikok. And I always wanted to go, and I told Ed it was one of the things I really want to do. He already had one the last time, and he's not as interested as I am, dolphining those things. But and it was amazing.

SPEAKER_00

And did you stay by one hole or did you walk around the whole course?

SPEAKER_01

We had access to this tents called the trophy club. Okay. So we were like in the trophy club and drinking and then walking a little, then back to the trophy. Okay. So we got to see like when they were on the hole by the trophy club. Right. We walked a little because I wanted to experience some what it looked like and other spots. It was just amazing. And the merchandise, oh my God. You spent a million dollars on a ticket, a million dollars on a cocktail, and a million dollars in the merch tent.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. I mean, supposedly US Open merch is crazy expensive.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, picked up a sweatshirt, which I thought was so cool, and it was $200. I was like, all right, great. I'm on a bench. This is what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_00

It's all good. It's all good. Yeah, it's another sip of my key. And today you're going to the Yankee game.

SPEAKER_01

Today I will need to go to bed. Today I'll be at the Yankee game with my brother Paul, which is what I need.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I need for my mental health today. Understood.

SPEAKER_01

All right. So probably end the show now because I've watched nothing.

SPEAKER_00

Even though I uh have things to do, I I was able to fit in tons of viewing this week. Oh, that's nice.

SPEAKER_01

No, I fit in a little this morning because of course you know who sleeps. First talk about the Taylor Swift shit because what is happening?

SPEAKER_00

Well, all I know is there's definitely something going on in Rhode Island, whether it's the Bachelorette or not. But Travis isn't there because he was caught sneaking out of the something club this morning, right? Or last night?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I didn't see that.

SPEAKER_00

That's what happened? Out the back way of some club at two in the morning.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, look at you. Nice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that was this morning. I don't remember the name of the club he was at, but so she could be doing some type of bachelorette thing. They're saying all the girls arrived in Rhode Island and he's in LA with his friends. So maybe this is Bachelor Bachelorette weekend, but there's no concrete proof of anything.

SPEAKER_01

But where is the wedding? Can someone tell me? I'm telling you, it's not at MSG. I hope not. It is not there. I'm team Dolan right now. Like, that's that's gonna fade soon. No, you can't be as soon as soon as the puck drops in October. That's definitely gonna fade. He's gonna have freaking a Taylor Swift wedding. That's not happening. I don't know why you believe this to be true.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what I believe to be true. I don't know what I believe. It's a ruse. That is not real. Fake news.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I hope you're right.

SPEAKER_00

Fake news.

SPEAKER_01

I hope you are right. All right, so then we have no update. You basically have no update for me.

SPEAKER_00

Nothing proven, nothing factual.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you're in LBI, she likes LBI.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, but she is not here. I can tell you that. All right. All right, fine, fine. Definitely not on the island. I would that I would know. If she would know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that you would know.

SPEAKER_00

All right, what else did you watch?

SPEAKER_01

What did you do this week? Okay, so the day to be retired. It's great.

SPEAKER_00

This was a great week for retirement.

SPEAKER_01

This was a great week for retirement.

SPEAKER_00

Every day is a great day. Just heads up. I have officially bagged every year after. I only got to five episodes. I can't even watch it. It's terrible. So I'm over that. Not finishing. Did you finish it?

SPEAKER_01

It's not a good show.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's terrible.

SPEAKER_01

I actually agree. I didn't want to agree with you last week because I wanted it to be good. Yeah, but it's a something to happen. Yeah, I finished it.

SPEAKER_00

Did anything happen? They just get together. Okay, great.

SPEAKER_01

It's just not a good show. But everybody that read the book said the book was really good and they didn't like the show either. So I don't know. It's not a good show.

SPEAKER_00

I'm almost done with book two of the off-campus series. This one's called The Mistake, and it's the story of Logan and Grace Ivers. And how's that going? Fucking phenomenal. I love it. It's so good.

SPEAKER_01

Now, do you still get the updates on the other people in the book?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Everybody is interwoven in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, amazing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Really good. Okay, then Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders season three dropped. I finished that.

SPEAKER_01

I think I'm in the middle of episode five. There's only seven. It's just fucking great every year.

SPEAKER_00

Even Rich was watching with me, and I know Ed loves it. It's like this is so good. But I will say what's interesting now is you're seeing the ramifications of the fame and how it's really hard on a lot of these women because they're experiencing so much hate. I don't understand. Why would you hate them? But I get it. Like they show you all the texts and the DMs and the things that they see online and how upsetting it is. Poor Reese is getting so much hate, but she's also making tons of money as an influencer. I think I said this the last two seasons, and I never do it.

SPEAKER_01

Every time a season ends, I say, Oh, I'm gonna follow these guys and keep up on what they're doing. And I don't. So now when I'm watching this one and they're talking about all the Reddit shit and all this hate, I'm like, what went wrong that they hate them?

SPEAKER_00

But even just saying how after a routine their lines weren't straight, or this one looks fake, or this one's ugly. What are you talking about, people? Yeah, I know, I know. But there is this girl in this season named Faith, and she's from Australia. She is very annoying.

SPEAKER_01

Don't tell me because they've made her like a highlight.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And you know, I always get sad when they come in to turn in their uniforms. It's so sad. So sad at the end when they have to decide if are you on the yes side or the no side for renewing.

SPEAKER_01

Guess if I was a cheerleader of the Dallas Cowboys, I'd think differently. But as fat fuck sitting on my couch watching it, I see like if the rookie class is good and there's a lot of people that you like, then maybe you do have to cut a veteran. Maybe the veterans aren't as good anymore. And at 25, they're so old and their hips are going. Okay, so maybe they need to be cut. I get that that's sad, but that's just life.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but now they're getting so many more applications that it's even more and more difficult, even to choose a rookie.

SPEAKER_01

They have these tough decisions, but they keep all the veterans.

SPEAKER_00

Then those decisions are even tougher. Favorite part of this whole series. So for anybody that hasn't watched, the two women, Kelly and Judy, who run the whole show along with Jerry Jones' daughter, they're in charge of the girls. And so this Kelly Finnlass, she's friggin' the best. She talks into her phone. She'll be watching the girls rehearsing, or she'll be watching their performance, and she'll talk shit into the phone to say Reese isn't smiling or face ponytail is in her mouth. And it's just ongoing. But then the best part is because I guess in the past the girls complained that they weren't getting enough feedback from Kelly. So then Kelly goes to tell them her feedback that she got from the phone and can't remember what her comment even means. It's just so I'm like menopause bringing it. She's like, yeah, she's going on, Kelly. Voice notes. I feel like Judy's sort of taking a back seat a little bit. She barely speaks in this season, and she looks kind of annoyed most of the time.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I think just Judy's tired. Aren't you tired, Judy? And she looks tired. I think that after Netflix picked it up, after season one, I put it on my top five. I feel the same way. I'm totally in. Even Eddie catches a glimpse of it. He loves it. There's nothing not to like. Yes. So seven episodes have dropped on Netflix. And that is the one thing that I have tuned into. Yes. Okay, good.

SPEAKER_00

Did you check out Million Dollar Nannies, which launched this week? I did, and I only lasted 15 minutes and then I'm out.

SPEAKER_01

I was excited about the concept. Yeah, but it's a scam.

SPEAKER_00

It's a scam.

SPEAKER_01

I'm always obsessed with the nanny lives and all that assistance stuff like that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I love all this. I thought it was gonna be like Beyonce's nanny or some famous people's nanny. These are people who run a service for nannies to go on vacation with rich people.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I made it 20 minutes. I thought these people were horrible. And I was like, so I'm not watching that. That was a bust for me.

SPEAKER_00

Then there was a really cute movie called Voicemails for Isabel, starring Nick Robinson and Zoe Deutsch and Nick Offerman. And I thought it was a really cute rom com, did you?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I watched it this morning and just did I need to cry more? No, but I was bawling. I was bawling. Yes, I really enjoyed it. It's actually a really good one.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, so you guys, it's just a movie. It's less than two hours. And it's on Netflix. Yes. And so Zoe Deutsch plays she's so cute. This baker, this chef who's working in San Francisco trying to live out her dreams to become a famous chef. But her sister, Isabel, had cystic fibrosis and passed away. But Zoe's been calling her sister's phone and leaving messages and talking to her sister as if she was still alive. And Nick Robinson, interrupt for one second.

SPEAKER_01

I have known people that have done that.

SPEAKER_00

I still listen to my mom's voicemails. I do too.

SPEAKER_01

I have it, but I don't call phone.

SPEAKER_00

No, but well, we shut my mom's phone down. Yeah, we did too.

SPEAKER_01

But I mean, I knew people that did that sort of thing or wrote letters.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Right. You know, it's so funny though. I I would never think to call my mom's number now to see if somebody has it.

SPEAKER_01

Listen, the movie was very predictable. Like you knew exactly what was gonna happen the moment it started. But did I enjoy it? Yes. Did I cry? Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. She's adorable. He's adorable.

SPEAKER_01

They're both adorable.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. It's a very cute little rom-com. I definitely say if you're into rom-coms, this is a good one.

SPEAKER_01

This is a rom com. Although there's no com there. Again, with the com.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's a it's a rom, what did we call it? A romada? It's a romada. A rom comedy.

SPEAKER_01

It's not funny.

SPEAKER_00

No, there was nothing comical about it. Yeah, definitely. So we said that that sweet magnolias is one of the worst shows this year, but the worst worst is this Sullivan's Crossing. I don't know if you've been keeping up with it or not, or if you bagged it, but it's the worst show on TV.

SPEAKER_01

I can't get it. They want my update. They wanted to give me a premium Hulu. Like I can't get it.

SPEAKER_00

It doesn't matter. All you told me it's bad. So it's terrible.

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna come out on Netflix. And you know I'm gonna have to watch it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but I'm telling you right now, you're gonna be so angry when you watch it. Is she with him or not with him? That's all I need to know. As of the second to last episode of the season, she is not with him.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

That's ridiculous. She comes crawling back. I made a mistake. I made a mistake. And Chad Michael Murray with his beautiful hair says, too late. Really? Yeah. See you bye.

SPEAKER_01

Y'all, please. Good for Chad Michael Murray. I mean, this the whole show is around them. So what what are we trying to do? Buy another season?

SPEAKER_00

It's really about him and his hair because she has zero acting ability whatsoever. She has no emotions, no nothing. And all she says is, My whole life I've been waiting for someone to love me.

SPEAKER_01

The Sullivan's crossing without Sully.

SPEAKER_00

It's so stupid. And they talk about Sully all the time. Right, of course they do. Oh, when did Sully get back? He didn't get back. Oh, how's Sully? I don't know. He's not here. Like they're constantly talking about Sully, and Sully is not coming back.

SPEAKER_01

I have not even went back to Sweet Magnolia's. I will, I've obviously.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you don't have to. The end is the wedding. You don't need to care.

SPEAKER_01

During my stupidest wedding. I've been on such a nick high that I can't go down with the Magnolian.

SPEAKER_00

You don't even need to bother.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm going to hold off for a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, there is a new show that I have not finished with yet on Netflix called Survive the Jungle. And honestly, it's pretty freaking good. What's that? It's Survivor for real survivors. They just drop you in the jungle, get these teams, and that's it. I'm not watching that. I'm not watching that. You're not gonna watch it? You might like it.

SPEAKER_01

No, no. Surviving in the jungle, no. No.

SPEAKER_00

It's pretty good because there's some cool shit that goes on. No, that's good for you. It's not good for me. It's not good for you. No.

SPEAKER_01

Survive in the jungle. I'm drinking a kiosk at 8 30. What do you think?

SPEAKER_00

You definitely couldn't. They don't give you anything this time. It's not like Survivor. No. You get nothing.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_00

I'm good.

SPEAKER_01

My friends at work keeps telling me to watch it, and I haven't been able to yet because of all this stuff. But that maternal whatever. Oh, you didn't watch it yet?

SPEAKER_00

No, but I'm dying, so you have to talk about it. Okay, you guys. It's a documentary. Since you did not watch it, I don't want to give away the ending. Oh my God. But there's a woman named Taylor Parker, and the start of the documentary, she's in her car. They have real police footage. And she calls 911 and says, I just gave birth to a baby in my car. Can someone come get me? Take me to the hospital, my husband, blah, blah, blah. You see all this footage, and then they take her to the hospital. They have the placenta, they have everything, but the doctor says to her, Your body didn't give birth. What went on? Because this is not a body of anybody who gave birth. And also, when they take her out of the car, there's no blood on her. So if you had just given birth and you had a placenta with an umbilical cord, you would be filled with so.

SPEAKER_01

So where the fuck did she get the baby?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I don't want to tell you that.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my God. Now I gotta watch it right away. This is why my friend at work's going crazy. She's waiting for me to watch it.

SPEAKER_00

It's crazy town. It is crazy town. It takes place in Texas recently. This happened in 2020.

SPEAKER_01

Oh wow, that's quick.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. They have all the footage, every single bit of it they have.

SPEAKER_01

So you finished it, obviously.

SPEAKER_00

It's just a movie. It's not and now have you gone down a rabbit hole? Like I just finished it this morning.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay, okay. Are you going to go down a rabbit hole?

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh, yeah. Even though you know that there's this baby, you're going along, you're going along, you're going along. And then there's one moment where you're like, what the actual fuck?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I'm excited.

SPEAKER_00

But you're shocked. So I would say definitely watch that if you can.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm going to. I'm going to. It's been on my things I need to do. Crazy shit happens. I know. So much crazy shit. And we never even hear about it.

SPEAKER_00

It's because the fucking world has gone mad. I can't believe this happened and I didn't know about it. I can't believe it happened. And a community has to live with this.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my God. I can't. All right. All right. You gotta watch it, girl. All right. So we're gonna talk about it next week.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god. Yes. Oh my gosh. I'm still disturbed by it. Of course, I just watched it, but I know what's gonna happen. On my ride back from LBI, I'm gonna be on my phone. I'm gonna be looking at this Taylor Parker doing all this research. Yeah. And I'm gonna be freaking out even more. All right, okay. That's what we'll do. It's sick.

SPEAKER_01

Come on. But I think it's just Alice cheerleaders. I'm going right to that.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes you think to yourself, people can really do that. People can be that evil. People can be that mean. People can be that crazy, but they can't. Because we are stupid people. We've watched a lot of crazy shit. This is crazy town.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Holy shit. I feel like we've watched a lot of crazy shit.

SPEAKER_00

No, this is in the top 10 crazy. All right.

SPEAKER_01

I'm on it. I'm on it.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my God. This is like so funny. I don't know. What's happening, but I watched that movie. It's all about the movies this week. Yeah. Which is good. I like a movie. I watched that movie, Your Fault London. I started it. I haven't finished yet. Okay. Rewind, everyone. Rewind. Because I finish it. And it ends in a cliffhanger. It ends in a cliffhanger. Well, this is why I'm talking to you about it. Because obviously we didn't do our homework on this one. So now, of course, I'm Googling what the fuck? It's a movie though. No, no. Rewind. There are three of these. This is a series. The first one dropped last year. It's called My Fault. And we didn't watch it. Wait, and we didn't watch it? That's right. The second one is called Your Fault, London, which is the one that just dropped this week. And the third one, which is coming out early 2027, is called Our Fault. Wait, so should I just stop and go back? If I was you, because now I'm gonna go in reverse. If I'm you, I go to the first one. My fault. Which is my fault, which is also on Amazon Prime.

SPEAKER_00

I'm only 20 minutes into your fault. So then my fault. Then I would and guess what? This poor research is our fault. It's our fault. It's all our fault. I was like so mad because I'm like, We're really good at our jobs.

SPEAKER_01

How did we miss it? Now it makes a little bit of sense to me that there was one before this one. Because even though I was all in when this started, I'm all in. And so far I know what's going on. I actually think it's a Spanish, Spanish show or Spanish book series, actually, that this comes from. But I did think at one point, well, shouldn't they give me a little bit more background? I felt like I needed more about the family that I wasn't really getting. You know, I don't know why, because there was one before this. I don't even understand how we missed this. So it was in 2025, then this one got released, and the third and last one is coming in early 2027, supposedly.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna stop. I'm gonna go to my fault. That's right. Then your fault, and then next year, our fault. Correct, our fault. But I we apologize to our listeners. It is our fault that we got this wrong.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

But both of those right now, my fault and your fault, exist on Amazon Prime. So I'm gonna go back and watch the first one, and now we wait eagerly for 2027. Okay. Everything's happening in 2027. I got those heated rivalry, some right pretty, off campus. Now I got our fault.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. But you know what's really cool for off campus, the second one that they're doing with Dean and Allie, there's so much footage of the filming around Vancouver. People are putting it up on TikTok and stuff. So there's all these sneak peeks of what's going on.

SPEAKER_01

Is she really with that guy in real life? They're showing a lot of that.

SPEAKER_00

She's supposedly with Justin.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I mean. Justin.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Mika, it Mika is not with Steven, who plays Dean, she's with Justin.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

They were in Paris together, which is cool. They could be friends, they could be lovers. We don't know. I will take anything I can get.

SPEAKER_01

I like when they all start getting together. You know, it's fun. Yeah, no, I did see that. They also showed some footage of the summer I turned pretty filming, also. I don't care.

SPEAKER_00

I forget where that was. Probably Vancouver. Everything's in Vancouver.

SPEAKER_01

No, it wasn't in Vancouver.

SPEAKER_00

Was it in Canada? Had to be in Canada.

SPEAKER_01

No, it wasn't.

SPEAKER_00

Toronto.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_01

Montreal. How many cities in Canada? None of it. None of it. No, it was in the seat. I was excited to see them filming.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

All right, what else you got? Because I really got nothing else.

SPEAKER_00

The only thing I have is that Jim Burrows, the prolific director of every famous show you've ever heard of in your whole life, passed away this week. Very sad. And Jennifer Aniston wrote this beautiful thing on Instagram about him and how he took such good care of the Friends cast. But he's been an incredible director back to like the Mary Tyler Moore days. He's a major guy. And then the other thing, which I'm still trying to figure out, is this jelly roll and bunny divorce. Well, you think it's because now he's skinny? He got rid of her. You know what's so interesting about this thing is when I still had a job, you know, way back when, I was asked to buy Bunny's podcast. I didn't know Bunny had a podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So I, of course, before I do anything, I listened to the podcast. And this podcast was porn. It was very, very sexual. It was very explicit language. And I thought to myself, A, whoever thought that this would be appropriate for Macy's is on crack. But B, isn't Jelly Roll like a religious fanatic? So that's just what I thought to myself back then. Supposedly, the reason that they're breaking up is because of these reasons. He is very much a religious guy. Now that she's getting so famous and she's getting more and more down this explicit, raunchy path, he's struggling with that. I don't know if I believe it, but that's what they're saying. And it made sense to me after listening to the podcast.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like they were just on an interview. I don't know with who, but they were saying how much they love each other, professing their love for each other. And then a week later, we're getting a divorce. Right, but supposedly they're also having a baby together.

unknown

Oh my God.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. Everybody's crazy. Well, I did see Kim Kardashian say she can marry Lewis Hamilton. I mean, I don't want them to get married.

SPEAKER_00

I want them to just be together, but they don't have to get married.

SPEAKER_01

I agree with you.

SPEAKER_00

I just want them to be together. I don't want Lewis Hamilton's heart to be broken ever.

SPEAKER_01

I know me either.

SPEAKER_00

I just don't. He's a perfect human being. He's a perfect man. Listen, I love you, Kim Kardashian. I do. But you can't break Lewis Hamilton's heart. If I'm Lewis and I have to put up with North, do you see what goes on with this North? I know North. If I have to put up with North and all these kids and all this crazy shit that goes on in the Kardashian life, I don't think Lewis can deal with that. He's calm, he's chill, he's a vegan. I just love him so much.

SPEAKER_01

And I just don't want him to get his heart broken. Okay, I agree. I don't I don't know what's gonna happen. I did see Timothy Chalamet on the float, though, at the parade. He looked so happy, didn't he? So happy.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god. He just was beside me.

SPEAKER_01

Speaking of the Kardashians, they went out to dinner again. Oh no. Were they out to dinner together? Yes.

SPEAKER_00

They were out to dinner. I mean, it's not normal. It was Jacob Ballorty and Kendall and Timothy, and also Jordan Woods and Kat. That's what I'm saying. The six of them went to dinner.

SPEAKER_01

It's not normal.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

That bag that she has is her lucky bag. Does she sell that bag?

SPEAKER_00

No, that's just her bag. That's her bag.

SPEAKER_01

What does she do for a living?

SPEAKER_00

Jordan Woods?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. She's an influencer. She's just an influencer. Yeah. Speaking of bags, so I went to you know my family's home in Alpine, and there are 5,000 these bags. 5,000. For those of you that obviously we don't know.

SPEAKER_00

It's an herma's bag.

SPEAKER_01

A big orange bag. I'm holding up an hermay's bag, not an actual bag, like the shopping bag you put the bag in. She's got 7,000 of these. Does your relative have a Birkin? Yeah. All of the things.

SPEAKER_00

All of the things. She has a Birkin. You've been near a Birkin. All of the things. I'm not even a bag person. I don't even like bags, but to experience the Birkin, I would like to experience that.

SPEAKER_01

I'm a bag person. I like bags. I just don't feel like I should spend that money on a bag. I'd rather buy a watch. But this is as close as I'm gonna get to it. So like right now, I have my bottles to throw out the recycling in this orange bag. That's as close as I'm getting to it. Speaking of bats, but oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I've never seen a Birkin in person.

SPEAKER_01

This is really nice how the other half lives.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So that means the Hermes people know your relative because you have to be invited.

SPEAKER_01

Uh yeah, I'm sure. Sure they do.

SPEAKER_00

Is the relative who has the Birkin, does she have like Chanel as well, or is she just burglaries?

SPEAKER_01

She has all the things.

SPEAKER_00

She has everything. Okay. Equal opportunity luxury. Correct. Love it. I don't have any relative like that.

SPEAKER_01

Did a little drive by at Tracy Morgan's house. You know, he was on a float. I know exactly where he lives. He lives.

SPEAKER_00

He was on a float.

SPEAKER_01

Her daughter graduated Ted of Ly High School. And this year? Yeah, this year. So she's going to Syracuse, joining her brother at Syracuse, who also graduated last year. But she said the same thing that Dylan said when he graduated high school.

SPEAKER_00

Like, get the hell out of here.

SPEAKER_01

I can't wait to get the hell out of this town. I said, you know, I brought him up last night. I said, this is so crazy. I was and I sold the story. So she said she feels the same way. What else? Anything else?

SPEAKER_00

Uh no, I think that's all I got for gotta get back into the restaurant scene.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I have not done anything.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. This ambassadors club is the place people want to go lately. I know. I know. I can't get in. I've tried. I've tried. But is the food even good? We don't even know. I don't even know. There's a restaurant in Arkansas that they only have 18 seats, and it's again hard to get in. And every 15th of the month, I try to get a reservation for anybody in Arkansas, preferably me, and I cannot get a reservation in Arkansas. Well, your son's Mr. Reservation. Why can't he get it? The month goes out at 12 noon and he's at work. It's 11 o'clock there, 12 noon for me.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like he finds a way.

SPEAKER_00

So far, he has not made any progress.

SPEAKER_01

Shocker.

SPEAKER_00

We'll get there. Trust what the one-year anniversary is in two weeks. So he'll get there by year two. Yeah, yeah, he'll get there.

SPEAKER_01

All right, are we ready for my game?

SPEAKER_00

I'm always ready for the game.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, that's great. So, because of this epic historical week, I have a game about the Canyon of Heroes.

SPEAKER_00

Really?

SPEAKER_01

So, the Canyon of Heroes, as everybody knows, is the famous stretch of Lower Broadway in Manhattan, where New York City holds its classic ticker tape parades. No ticker tape anymore. Now we can convene. Got it. The tradition dates back to 1886 when New Yorkers spontaneously threw ticker tape from office windows during the celebration for the dedication of the Statue of Liberty. Let me just say also say that a lot of the windows now they don't open. Right. So you can't throw anything out there. I know. So I love watching the people that are in the office buildings. They have such a great view. But what did they do? Use confetti cannons. No, no, they were able to they they shoot they shoot confetti out. People were on like balconies. Okay. There have been more than 200 parades down the Canyon of Heroes. I'm gonna give you five names, and you just need to tell me were they part of a parade down the Canyon of Heroes? Yes or no? Okay. Today's game is called Can You Believe They Were In the Parade? Okay, first one. Amelia Earhart. Was she down the Canyon of Heroes? Yes or no? No. Yes, she was. She was she is one of the few individuals to receive two ticker tape parades. July of 1928, after becoming the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, and June 1932 after becoming the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I have a dumb question. Is Amelia Earhart from New York? Don't you have to be a New Yorker to get a parade? No.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, then I'm definitely not gonna do well.

SPEAKER_01

She's not because number two is Queen Elizabeth II. Was she down the canyon? No. Yes, she was. What? Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were honored with a ticker tape parade October 21st, 1957. It was their first official visit to New York City. Well, you know what?

SPEAKER_00

Back in the 1950s, you didn't have cool shit to do. So throwing a parade was fun, I guess. All right, now we're gonna switch to sports. This is lame. We're gonna switch to sports. I thought you had to be from New York.

SPEAKER_01

New York Mets pitcher Tom Seaver. No. Yes. Tom the Seaver was part of the 1969 New York Mets Ticker Tape Parade. The Miracle Mets were honored on October 20th, 1969, after winning the franchise's first World Series championship. No, I didn't. And piece of history, the Mets actually were the first New York championship team to receive the full ticker tape parade. Really? It wasn't the Yankees? Nope. Nope. Okay. The U.S. men's Olympic hockey coach Herb Brooks. No. Or no? No. No, he wasn't because the whole Miracle on Ice U.S. Olympic team did not receive a Canyon of Heroes Prince.

SPEAKER_00

Correct. Which actually is terrible. I remember the discussion. Would there be a parade for the Miracle on Ice team? And for some reason there wasn't, and I can't remember why, but it was the 1924 U.S.

SPEAKER_01

Olympic team had one. Jesse Owens in the 1936 U.S. Olympic team had one. And the U.S. Olympic medal winners in 1984 had them. So I don't know why they got robbed. My last one.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

New York Knicks point guard from 1967 to 1977. The one and only Walt Clyde Frazier. I have no idea. I'm going to say no. It's a trick question. The answer is yes, but he was in this last parade. Well, that's this week. That was it. No, he did not receive. He was in this parade. So he was in this parade. They honored him in this parade. Thank God. But when credit for this when the Knicks won the NBA championship in 1970 in 1973, those teams did not get ticker tape parades because of concerns, safety, and costs, and downtown disruptions. So finally they did it for Walt. He rode down the Canyon of Heroes as part of the 2026 New York Knicks Champion Celebration.

SPEAKER_00

I'm giving myself credit for that one. So I got two out of three, which still means I lose the game.

SPEAKER_01

No, you can't really give yourself credit for that one. But all right, in your mind, you can.

SPEAKER_00

I'll take what I can get. Also, side note, I don't know if we're doing a show next week. I'm gonna be in Arkansas. We'll have to discuss. We'll get back to you, people.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, we're we're still talking on air. Okay, we'll get back to you people. We're gonna do a show or not next week.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

All right. I'm holding up my Keonti. If you know, you know. Everybody have a great day and a great week. Maybe we could try to get our life back a little this week, everyone. Yes, I doubt it. Love you. Love ya.
