Tell us:
- Loud phone talkers?

- The wave at sporting events?
- Something even worse?
We want to hear your biggest pet peeves!
This week, when we need to talk, we talk about how people annoy us. Gen Z specifically. And the beeves. Hibernation.
unknownI wasn't going to.
SPEAKER_02Because she folds. She folds. Get me out of here.
SPEAKER_01This could be the most bougie thing anyone said. We leave our clean laundry so that the cleaning lady could fold it. What? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's bougie. I don't like to fold laundry. The most for your money. I don't like laundry at all. Terrible.
SPEAKER_01What? No, I don't want it down there. I just can't open Hampton water bottles. I cannot open it. They're very difficult. I don't know why John wants to hurt me.
SPEAKER_00He wants to make it worth your while that you work so hard to get it open. You're like, ah, I can finally drink it.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it's delicious. Cheers. Good morning.
unknownGood morning.
SPEAKER_00I had my first rose yesterday as well. First? Of the summer, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Summer's over, and you had your first rose. Summer is not, it's not over. This case is a hampton water. I got three beverages today, though.
SPEAKER_00Coffee, water, rose.
SPEAKER_01I have coffee, I have rose, and I have what cures my hangover, Diet Dr.
SPEAKER_00Pepper. Oh, I have a hangover. I was day drinking all day with my sister-in-law and my niece. It was really fun. Day drinking's fun.
SPEAKER_01I started day drinking at the 10-year-old birthday party. I continued day drinking at the 50-year-old birthday party. And now I will continue today at the 80-year-old birthday party.
SPEAKER_00That's the way to do the weekend. I feel like we were bougie day drinking because we started at the Park Avenue Armory with this bowl thing.
SPEAKER_01I saw your post. I don't understand what it is. Have you ever been in the Park Avenue Armory? No.
SPEAKER_00Beautiful and it's massive. So you walk into this giant space and it's got this beautiful light coming from the ceiling. And then they have these three gigantic pools. And all of the pools have these different-sized bowls that are floating around, hitting each other, making these crazy sounds. So you can go to all the different pools. They're the same size, but it's like hypnotic. And you just lay there or sit there. And you can either stare at the bowls because they're hypnotizing you, or you can lay down and close your eyes and listen. Lay down where? I laid down on the ground. It's clean. And there's people there? Oh, yeah, it's packed. And everybody's silent and you're laying on the ground? You could sit. You don't have to lay. You could sit. Yeah, everybody's silent. And it's sick. It's so cool. So then we left there. And then we went to a match 65 for that's where I had my rose. And then we left there. We were walking up Madison Avenue. And then we get a table at the Mark Hotel. We sit outside and it's people watching. Cocktails. We were there for three and a half hours. Dude, I love that. Some French fries. We got some crispy rice.
SPEAKER_01Nothing like a beautiful summer.
SPEAKER_00Beautiful yesterday.
SPEAKER_01City day where you're people watching and you're having a cocktail and you feel bougie. I love it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I can't believe it, but my niece is gonna be turning 30.
SPEAKER_01I know. You're old. That's what I'm saying. I mean, what? Yeah, no, that's crazy town. That's crazy town. Crazy town. I don't know how everybody's getting older and I'm staying the same age. You look the same to me. How I'm staying the same age. I know. Right. It's been a week since we last talked. Spain has won the World Cup. Don't care. Oh my God. I wasn't rooting for Spain because I told you I was rooting for Messi, but great game. The better team won.
SPEAKER_00And that was the most boring game I've ever watched in my life.
SPEAKER_01Oh God.
SPEAKER_00You don't know what you're talking about. Boring.
SPEAKER_01I'm sad it's over because now I really have nothing.
SPEAKER_00Let me tell you what you need to do today. What? F1. Well, F1's gonna start, right? Yeah. That's fine. But Jackson Quaven, name you're gonna know forever and ever, from Auburn. This is his third professional start in the 3M golf tournament, and he's in the lead by three strokes. He's 21 years old. He is a friggin' phenomenal player, and he is from Auburn. You gotta watch it. You gotta watch it. You gotta watch it.
SPEAKER_01You know I love golf. You gotta watch it. I don't I don't have the Auburn obsession. Don't care.
SPEAKER_00Don't care. You gotta watch this kid. He's phenomenal.
SPEAKER_01It's still not gonna cut it. There's a void. I just watched the Knicks win again. What am I gonna do?
SPEAKER_00I know. There's really not much right now. But listen, you just got a few weeks. This is the last F1 race till uh August 23rd. So they're gonna go on summer break. So you really don't have much other than the Yankees and golf. That's it.
SPEAKER_01Fuck LeBron.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't even want to give him my energy.
SPEAKER_01Says shit about LeBron. Nobody.
SPEAKER_00Don't care about the Sixers. Don't care about LeBron. Yeah, me either. Don't care.
SPEAKER_01They have not announced the schedule because they were waiting for this motherfucker to choose his team. I bet. That's the opener. Yeah. Nick's Nick Six. Yeah. And what's happening to Tony Romo? Tony, Tony, I know you listen. Wait, so how come they call it?
SPEAKER_00Why can't we get an Uber? Another one. But they called it OWI. So for a minute, I was like, wait, what's the difference between OWI and DWI? It's operating versus driving, but it's the same thing, right?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I guess the severity.
SPEAKER_00Again, what an Uber, buddy. You're in Milwaukee. Why do you need to even be driving in Milwaukee?
SPEAKER_01Tony, why? Why?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
unknownI don't know.
SPEAKER_00Did your golf game that bad that day that you couldn't think about anything other than driving away drunk? Tony. Tony. Come on, buddy. I have a driver. His name is Ruber. I know you have a driver. It's no bougie. You really are. I have a driver. It's called Ed. Yeah. Although yesterday from the city, I didn't call Ruber. I took an Uber. I had been drinking, needed to get home, wasn't gonna grab a bus, decided Uber. How much of that set you back? I don't want to talk about the day's events because I just checked my credit card and saw how much my entire day costs, and it was no fridge.
SPEAKER_01It's day money spending. And then the next day I sign on and I say, What the fuck? That was me this morning. I was afraid to look. At least you were only with just the three of you, civilized. You're like with a larger group, you're buying drinks. You think you got all the money in the world?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, actually, I just sent you an article that I was I read a couple things about Gen Z this week. One was that they prefer now meeting for breakfast as opposed to dinner because things are so expensive. So a lot of diners and breakfast places are seeing tremendous spikes in business. But today's article was talking about this thing called I wrote it down.
SPEAKER_01Wait, they meet for brunch or like breakfast. Not lunch. Like 9 a.m.
SPEAKER_00Right, because there's no cocktails, it's just eggs, coffee, juice. But it's cheaper. Cheaper, yes. Also, if you're dating, it's a quicker situation because you eat your breakfast and you go. But now their new thing is they have payment avoidance stress. Now we've talked about this in another way, but Gen Z has problems with confrontation. So when people owe each other money, whether it's for parties, tickets, going out, and you'd share the bill, they're so bad at asking for the money back that it's setting them into debt.
SPEAKER_01I thought they don't even go anywhere. But you mean they a rare case where they step out of their house, they go to a concert, somebody buys the tickets, and the people don't want to ask for the money.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and the person who owes the money sort of ghosts the other person or goes dark or gets out of the group chat because they don't want to deal with what they owe the money.
SPEAKER_01What is wrong with these people? I mean, it's insane to me. You know how many concerts and dinners that we've gone to in our lives and we just pay the other person? It's not even a thing. You get this tab, I'll get the next tab. We all split a tab. I mean, it's that's not even a thing. This has a name payments, avoidance, stress. You know, this week's episode of Trying, which is a great show, and we talked about it last week. It came back. First of all, I couldn't really watch it because there was mice in it, and I don't like mice. I have a huge fear of mice, but I was fast-forwarding. But there was a whole part where his co-workers are like this They're Gen Zers. They are on their phone, they can't function, they don't go out, they don't know what it is, a party, and he goes, Well, you don't need your phone. Their alarms are going off on their phone. They gotta phone to tell you to eat or to tell you to have water. And it just makes me laugh because it's so true.
SPEAKER_00So true. These people can't do anything. He gets invited to a party, to a student party, and he gets invited to the party and he shows up and they're all just sitting there and quiet on their phones. And he's like, This is not a party.
SPEAKER_01I remember when my sister was younger. Was it Venmo or one of those apps? No, it wasn't Venmo. It was an app that told you how much you owed. You put a bill in, and it was like the four of you were doing it. It went out to the four people. Yeah. I never did that. It was like past my time. We just figured it out too. Just know how to do math. Well, I can't say I know how to do math, but somebody in my group always does. Forget the name of it now. Show reminding it. Split-wise. Oh, split-wise, right? Split-wise. And then everybody got their bill and it worked out for them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. We do it when we do our family trips. We do it like that.
SPEAKER_01For whatever it is, for it's like they were getting a house or a trip or tickets, whatever. Just generation though, it's Gen Z. They can't do anything. Nothing. They can't do shit. So funny. My breakfast, but my breakfast also comes with cocktails.
SPEAKER_00I'm having a cocktail right now. Like, what are you talking about? Yeah, but that's Sunday. Let's say you were gonna meet someone for something on a Tuesday, you know, and you just have like your coffee and your bacon and egg. No, I'll always have a glass of wine.
SPEAKER_01I'll have a lot of.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I like a good bloody Mary.
SPEAKER_01I'll have a breakfast drink. I'll have a paloma. Yeah, I have a paloma. I prefer the paloma.
SPEAKER_00I don't like orange juice. But yeah, most of the time, when you go to the places that have those, though, it doesn't cost as much as going out to a bar or going to dinner.
SPEAKER_01It doesn't cost as much.
SPEAKER_00I mean, two eggs over easy don't cost even if you add the cocktail, it's not gonna be as much as if you go to dinner.
SPEAKER_01I'll tell you though, everything is a million dollars. Went out to dinner. I had a date with my nephew, he's 10. And we went to a pizzeria that also has regular tables. I told him, I said, I want to go sit at a regular table because I wanted to order something other than pizza.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01So I asked them, I said, can he order pizza at the regular table? No problem. Okay, great. So I get a glass of wine, he gets two slices of pizza and a spray. I get a grilled chicken with tomatoes on top. Now, granted, this grilled chicken comes out, it's massive. It gets two days worth of eating, right? Okay. I didn't know it was gonna be this big, so I asked for a side of broccoli. Okay. That whole thing. Plus, then you tip, you do the whole thing. I walk out of there with $80. I just went out with my 10-year-old.
SPEAKER_00Did I, in the past episode, talk about my friggin' Houston's with my crab cakes or no?
SPEAKER_01I know. You're obsessed with Houston's though.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but so don't say anything negative about Houston's. No, I love Houston's. I love Houston's, but Rich and I go to Houston's. This is the real bill. I wanted an artichoke that didn't have it. The other thing that they're known for are these crab cakes. So instead of the artichoke, we get an order of crab cakes. The crab cakes this size, like they're maybe the size of like, I don't know, people, people. We're not on video. We're not on video, maybe like two inches each. Okay. The reason I like their crab cakes is because there's no mayo in them, and I don't like mayo. I like a crab cake that has no mayo also. Yeah, no mayo. And so, okay, so we get crab cakes, I get the grilled chicken salad, he gets the French dip, he gets a beer, I get an iced tea. My bill was $150.
SPEAKER_01This is what I'm saying. You can't go.
SPEAKER_00Crab cakes were $45. My favorite crab cakes to date are at Del Frisco's because they also do not make them with mayo. Del Frisco's makes a fucking fantastic crabastic crab cake. So I go and Google how much of the Del Frisco's crab cakes, and they're $32. I would have.
SPEAKER_01Houston's is $45, and this is $32. You know what my new obsession is? I don't I'm following in Bethany Frankel's footsteps with the chicken salad. Have you had that chicken salad that she No, I don't know where that is. Where is it? The blonde. Yeah, but it's Silver Line, New Jersey, or Silver Something, New Jersey. I don't know where that is. So do I need to go on a quest for it? Where is it? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I'll I just saw that video maybe two days ago.
SPEAKER_01It's far. I Googled it. I mean, look, I'm retired. I can take a ride. I Googled it from here. It's like two hours and 50 minutes. Yes, that could happen. But I'm not a big mayo person either. I do love chicken salad. I really do.
SPEAKER_00Shredded or chunky or not chunky?
SPEAKER_01I like both. Rotissu chicken salad. But the bagel store near my house, pound of chicken salad, $28. What? Then I go to this other bougie Italian market. I get a pound of chicken salad. I'm expecting it to be along those lines. It was $11. Who would have thought? Meanwhile, it's not as good as the $28 one. Of course not.
SPEAKER_00So now I gotta find other chicken salads. Well, what about that place that everybody talks about by you, that round swamp farm chicken salad?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm on a quest for the chicken salad. I'm not doing what she does, but in my own town, in my own neighborhood, I want to find the best chicken salad.
SPEAKER_00If you remind me, I'll I actually have a lunch date far from my house on Wednesday. If I can also parlay that into finding the other chicken salad, I'll do it. What's the name of it? I'll go. No, it's as Bethany says, the Lord's work, right?
SPEAKER_01It is the Lord's work. Right, yeah. Bethany's gotta get out of my neighborhood. She's all over my the spots out here, she's gotta stop. Because I don't need her or people who follow her to bring the riff wrap here. The riff wrap. Yeah. It's like silver liny drink. I'll I'll after this podcast. I'll tell you. Okay. But else we got. So now on that. So speaking of expensive and all this shit, the fucking polo club. Let me tell you something, polo club. I think the polo club is overrated. And now they're gonna move. I mean, it's so stupid. I've been to the polo club a couple of times. Me too. And every time I found it very enjoyable. I've never seen anything. Enjoyable, but never seen anybody famous there.
SPEAKER_00I did, but I forget who.
SPEAKER_01All the stars go, and it's all hard to get into now. And you talk about how it's exclusive and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And now you're moving.
unknownYou know.
SPEAKER_01What the fuck? You know, that's stupid.
SPEAKER_00The whole point is it's exclusivity.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, now dumb. I'm now aggravated. So I was I was annoyed at them. You know what else made me happy though, after how annoyed I was about $28 chicken salad.
SPEAKER_00But Justin Bieber's coming back. By the way, what were your thoughts about him at the World Cup halftime show? Me personally loved it.
SPEAKER_01I don't care what he sings. He is perfection to me. He's amazing. And whatever he's singing is perfect. And actually, he's the only fucking one singing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he sang just him and a guitar. Right. Walking in front of a bajillion people singing the Halloween song. Very happy. And the fact that he bought a place on Leroy, I feel like I should just get a tent and stay there.
SPEAKER_01I loved him. He was amazing.
SPEAKER_00But I don't know if I can do MetLife. I hope it's not a MetLife situation. Maybe we need to go to another place.
SPEAKER_01We need to go to a different state. I'm not doing MetLife either. It originally said stadium tour, so I believe it's going to be a stadium tour. So I don't think he should do a stadium tour. I know.
SPEAKER_00I think he should do arenas instead.
SPEAKER_01We're not making a mistake in not seeing him.
SPEAKER_00So we're going. We're going.
SPEAKER_01We'll just travel. We'll go someplace civilized that we can get into the stadium like normal people.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Do you think that there's going to be friendship bracelets and cool shit? Not Taylor Sweat. Like Balibas. Because, you know, I'm a Baliba. I'm a Baliba too.
SPEAKER_01He's so good. Oh, perfection. Perfection.
SPEAKER_00I know. As far as annoying goes, I had an incident where I went to go get my nails done on Friday. Yeah. And everything was great until this friggin' entitled asshole sits next to me. And from the time she sits down to the time I leave, she's on a phone call the entire time. And when the whole place, which is nice and quiet, is listening to her talk to her, I guess, sister or sister-in-law, something about shit at the store and picking this one up and picking that one up. And I'll go here and I'll go there. Why are you on the phone? It's so disgusting. I did the dirty looks. What is wrong with people? When you go to the salon or the spa, it's your time to just be quiet.
SPEAKER_01I blame the spa.
SPEAKER_00I do too.
SPEAKER_01They should have shut the fuck up. Correct. They should have signs, or if it happens, they should say, please can you make wrap up your phone call? They just have to be able to say that because you're ruining the experience of everybody else there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and the whole place was packed. It was a busy day. Everybody was annoyed. We were all looking at each other. It was so awkward. And it just ruined my manicure experience. But they do look good.
SPEAKER_01So painful to me. I just want to get in and get out. I know. And now somebody's talking, it's just the worst. The worst. The worst. We've had this conversation. People suck. They're stupid. And I don't know why I need to give you a dirty look when you're fucking talking on the treadmill or while you're at the nail salon. I'm not sure why. I get even aggravated when Ed talks to me in an elevator or in an Uber. I get aggravated. It's quiet time. I don't like talking in an elevator at all. People don't need to know our schedule. The Uber driver doesn't need to know logistics about it. Well, I would like to know about logistics because I'm intrigued by it all. Oh my God. Logistics. I was in a car for hours yesterday. Like, I can't have because he wants to talk logistics. And this is going to be like our game for later, but then he's like, Yes, what song is this from? I'm like, this isn't a fun game right now. It's just so annoying.
SPEAKER_00I went to the Yankee game. It was canceled and then rescheduled, and it was a double header on whatever day that was Thursday.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Ended up being Did you see the winning game or the losing game? Winning game. Oh, good, good. And it ended up being the bobblehead game. Oh, fucking zoo. And it was the Harry Potter bobble. There were four bobbleheads. You just get handed a box, but it could be any of the Harry Potter houses. So, like if you got Ravenclaw or Slytherin or speaking Greek to me, but in Harry Potter, there's four. I know, I know. Okay, so you get your box and you go on your merry way. Well, people were going crazy with what'd you get? Because I need a Gryffindor. What'd you get? I need a Ravenclaw. Even when we were sitting in the seats, the people in front of us turn around and they go, Did any of you guys get a Gryffindor? And would you be willing to trade? And we're like, I don't even think anybody got Gryffindors, but this is all going on at the game.
SPEAKER_01It was so fun. As annoying as the fucking wave. Like that's so annoying. They were doing the wave. I thought the wave was over. No, I think because of the World Cup that it's back. No, it came back before the World Cup. I don't get up. I'm a seated waiver. I still wave. No, I don't stand. No, I don't pick my arms up. I protest.
SPEAKER_00You don't put your arms up at all? No. Nobody says anything to you? Nobody's ever said anything. Yeah, I have a little bit of phobia because I won't stand. But if I don't put my arms up, I don't want other people to yell at me. I don't care. I hate the wave.
SPEAKER_01They're losers. Who does the wave? The wave's so ridiculous to me. No. The wave reminds me of when Harry met Sal. Totally. Yes. That's exactly the only time the wave is acceptable. It would have been that movie. That's so true. Yeah. Oh my god. But that's funny, though. I would have died. I would have been like, shut the fuck up and watch the game. They won one nothing. Like it was a tense game. Oh my lord. All right. What do we got? Speaking of games, Big Brother has gotten better. Yes, it's gotten not only better, it's gotten good. My brother follows a couple of, you know, YouTube, those people they talk about Big Brother. And he sends me one, and I think it was true. The reason why this season is already pretty good is because these guys actually want to win. They're not on for their 15 minutes of TV fame or something. No, they want they want it.
SPEAKER_00And so I thought that was good and interesting. I think it is because even when Rome was interviewed after he was even Oh, he was so cute when he got evicted.
SPEAKER_01Did you watch The Friday show? No, I am annoyed that they're making me watch Friday.
SPEAKER_00I am too, but I fell asleep.
SPEAKER_01I didn't finish it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, wait. You know how Lyric, the woman that he's in love with after two days, but her dad had a hit in the 80s. Her dad is Glenn Madero, who had a hit with Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You, right? So on that's her father's song, right? Yes. Yeah. So on Big Brother on Friday, they do a montage of Lyric in Rome to that song. That's amazing. And it is so cringy and gives you such douche chills, but it's brilliant.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it's brilliant. No, so they're producing new content for this or showing new content. I mean, it's smart on their part, but it's annoying me.
SPEAKER_00But you know what? In in Friday's episode, they had Ross Matthews and they had Jerry O'Connell. So the fact that it was Derek and Taylor originally, they they couldn't deal with that because they're not good at it. But bringing in Jerry, bringing in Ross was great. And by the way, I'm not a huge Ross Matthews person, but damn, between the GLP ones and the Botox, he looks unbelievable. He looks incredible. He does look really good. Oh my God, I want his doctors. We're back. It's good. It's good, people. I mean it really is gotten really good. And as much as I hate Angela, her in the egg costume was so funny all week. I actually cracked up a couple times. I can't stand her, but it really was like on the ground and she couldn't get up in the head costume, or even when she was asleep and then she wakes up and the top of her omelet head comes up. It was so funny. Yeah, it was good.
SPEAKER_01All right, so we're back on that. Fine, fine. And ransom canyon dropped this week.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that Minka Kelly. I love her.
SPEAKER_01I love her. I got one problem with it. I want to speak like her though. Have you finished? No, I'm on episode four. Oh my god. I got a ways to go. Well, you saw the hot boyfriend from New York, who's the guy from Animal Kingdom. Yeah. Who I fucking love. And I knew he had a British accent. Is he British or Australian? I think he's British, but he's nice. Did you get to the episode yet where he's actually playing the instruments? Yeah. So he That's really him. Yes, I did not know that. I didn't know that either. I had to Google that. Oh my god, he's hot to chat. My problem. But I like Josh Jumal too. I love Josh Jumal. But I don't think I'm giving anything away here by saying this. So I'm sorry for to you if you think I'm giving something away. Go for it. It's fine. Okay. I didn't see any sex with Minka Kelly. None? And I'm very upset.
SPEAKER_00Wait, he goes down on her in episode three.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but you know how I like to see you want boobs? I want the whole thing. I want, yeah, I want hot Minka with the hot guy. We get none of that?
SPEAKER_00Nothing?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00We get none of it. But what about with Josh Dumel? Nothing? We get none of it. But I will say I love them. My only issue is the worst character name ever is Staten. I don't think it's that bad. It's grown on me. No. There's either you take a Staten for what? Cholesterol? Or there's Staten Island. Well, what's better? Yancey?
SPEAKER_01I mean, these names in his show can I will say it's so much of a better show than Sullivan's Crossing, then Virgin River. Yeah. It's just a much better. I don't know if it's because we love country music. Thomas Retting. Thomas Whett is in this scene. I do love it. Come on. They're line dancing. Minka Kelly's the fucking best. It's so good. It's just good. And I always, always have to remind myself, she was with Derek Jeter. I know. She's very happy now with the guy from Imagine Dragons. I know, but still, she was with Derek Jeter. During the big Jeter days. I know. I just love her. I love the show. I'm a sucker for the stupid show. Me too. I'm a sucker for the stuff.
SPEAKER_00I'll be done by tomorrow. I'll be done.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay, by the way, I have a you are buggin' situation. What? You said that ride or die goes off the rails and it's terrible. We loved it.
SPEAKER_01I didn't say terrible, but it definitely goes off the rails.
SPEAKER_00No, it does not really. It's very it's very followable. I didn't even finish it yet. I think it might episode four. No, no. You can you gotta finish that show. It's really good. It's coming back. No, it's not stupid. It's coming back? Oh, yeah, it's coming back. It's renewed? I don't know about that, but they leave you hanging where it's coming back, and it's number two right now on Amazon.
SPEAKER_01You don't even know if it's coming back.
SPEAKER_00It's number two, it's coming back. We don't know if we're handsome Canyon's coming back. The verdict's out on that. It's still in the top ten. That'll be back. But I'm telling you, this ride or die is coming back. The premise is great. I really enjoyed it thoroughly. I just like them. I don't really think the premise is coming.
SPEAKER_01No, you need to you need to stick with it. You need to stick with it. It's a good show. All right, I'll finish it. I I'll go back to it. Did you continue watching The Lucky? It's not over, so you can't say finish.
SPEAKER_00I'm still watching it. I do. I don't think that's bad. I don't think it's anything. I have no opinion. I like her. She's really good. I love her, but I just don't know what I think about the show yet. I feel like it's just going on and on and on and on and on, and I'm only on episode four.
SPEAKER_01The birthday party episode, which is this last one. Now it is true. If you want to be a thief, it's a good time to go. It's a great thing to do because everybody's focused in one section, right? And she's sealing the envelopes that are not attached to presents because there's probably money in there, right? And then she's sealing people's wallets.
SPEAKER_00It's really brilliant. It is. But the only thing that makes no sense is in this day and age, everybody has cameras. So they're gonna figure it out.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah. Well, I mean, that's a stupid show. I mean, she's still in the same car. They haven't figured that out. The verdict on is it stream it or skip it?
SPEAKER_00Is I don't know yet. Well, you can't stream it because it's not all out yet. I know, but I just don't know what I think about it yet. I would say stream ride or die. I liked it. You would not must see TV, but if you're looking for something fun, it's good. I'll go back. Go back. You know, you don't have to watch, you don't have to watch the dink. I didn't know dink was a movie.
SPEAKER_01Thought it was a series.
SPEAKER_00No, it's a movie, it's on Apple, and so far I'm out. I watched 20 minutes. I'm like, I can't watch it. Okay, so I'm not gonna watch it.
SPEAKER_01You don't have to watch that. You don't have to watch the Will Farrell one. I watched that one. I told you it was stupid. So bad. Well, you're now watching Widow's Bay, which I'm not watching because it's scary. A lot of our listeners have asked if we were watching it, and I said, No, I don't watch it.
SPEAKER_00I got a lot of pressure to watch it, and because of all the Emmy nominations, I felt the need to watch it. And also, Kevin Clancy, something about the way he posts. I get obsessed with everything. I do too. If he says I need to watch it or I need to look at this or do this, I'm agree. I agree. It's the freaking bomb.com. And he said we need to be watching this show. And I did. So the first episode, it's funny. So the funny overrode the scary. The scary wasn't so scary because I was laughing.
SPEAKER_01I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I'll let you know. Let me come in. We're I can't do a lot of episodes of it in a row, so we're gonna do one a day, and I'll finish by the end of the week. So by next week's episode, I'll have the verdict for you.
SPEAKER_01All right, let me now.
SPEAKER_00Speaking of the Emmys, what the fuck now? So now we're not seeing certain parts? They took five categories out of the telecast and they're putting them into the creative arts ceremony. They're taking away the categories related to limited series, with the exception, I think, of best limited series. But actor, actress, supporting actors, supporting actress, I believe, is going to the creative ceremony and not to the telecast. Why? So there's more time for them to spew their political beliefs to me? Like I feel like right now, limited series is the top category for us.
SPEAKER_01Totally. Right? Adolescence. What that wasn't that the name of that? Adolescence series. That was a limited series.
SPEAKER_00Every single award. Supposedly, the there's a lot of petitions and notes going to the academy to get them to change their mind. So maybe by the end of September, when the award ceremony goes on, they'll bring it back. But right now, that was a decision that was made that I am really not happy with.
SPEAKER_01Wow, that's that's shocking, actually.
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_01Thank God this Diet Tactic Pepper is helping my hangover right now. I feel really good about it. So bad for you, but I mean, you gotta do what you gotta do.
SPEAKER_00I haven't had a soda in probably 20 years.
SPEAKER_01I used to be able to say that until last year. You gotta do what you gotta do. Yeah, yeah. Whatever float your boat. You know, 2025 was rough. So now it's like it's a lot of diet act to peppers. All right, what else you got? You got anything for me as I have my three beverages before my game?
SPEAKER_00I just want to thank Garth Brooks. That's the only other thing we'd like to do. I'd like to thank the academy. I'd like to thank Garth Brooks because what did he do for you? So he's going out on tour for the first time in many, many years. He's taking over, selling the tickets himself. So he's doing one city at a time. He sees what the demand is, and then he adds shows. So the whole schedule isn't out yet. So he did Indianapolis first, and then now he just released Denver. But what I love is he's doing day concerts. Not just night concerts, daytime concerts. Because we're all what do you mean? What do you mean he sees where the demand is? Like what does that mean? If he sells out one show, oh he adds another show. So but the reason he continues. How many did he do in Indianapolis? I think he ended up with six. Oh shit. And two of them are daytime, one o'clock starts. That's perfect for me. One o'clock start. I could go to the show, go to dinner, be home by 7:30. Be a mystery.
SPEAKER_01You can't you can't be at the Jay-Z concert, it starts at midnight.
SPEAKER_00Oh, they're they're crazy. No. So I say thank you, Garth Brooks, for understanding your audience and knowing we need daytime concerts. Is that in a stadium, though? I'm not sure. It's gonna be a problem for you if it's in a stadium. I'll have to go to another city. You're gonna have to travel. Not going to MetLife, not doing that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, I know it's so sad that that's our stadium. We don't go to it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but the best concert I ever saw was Garth Brooks in Yankee Stadium. And it was a lightning storm. Me and my friend Annette were there. That was when I still had Twitter. He was communicating with us all on Twitter saying, I'm waiting. If you'll wait, I'll wait too. And we all waited, and he came on at like 11:30 at night, and we didn't get home. Oh my god. This is when I could stay awake. This is when you were young. We didn't get home until four o'clock in the morning. He's he waited and he played for three and a half hours. And it was freaking phenomenal, and nobody left. Everybody stayed. Yankee Stadium was on fire. That's amazing. That was great.
SPEAKER_01When you were young, now he's introduced. He's like for me.
SPEAKER_00He's like, Christy, come at 1 p.m. I'll be there, Garth. Thank you so much. I will be there at one o'clock. I'll be so happy. I'll get my dinner afterwards. I'll be in my bedroom.
SPEAKER_01Day concerts are like a festival.
SPEAKER_00Is it gonna be outside? I don't do festivals. No, I don't do festivals either. I will do one concert at one o'clock. I'm not doing 50 bands. But is it gonna be outside? Because at one o'clock, it's probably outside. Okay, that's fine. I won't have to be scared by the nighttime boogeyman and all the creatures that come out at night. I don't know if I want to be one o'clock at Madison Square Garden.
SPEAKER_01Why? But I don't know. Who cares? Unless it's the winter. Then I'm then I'm okay. Well, depending upon what happens with the schedule. At one o'clock in the summer, I'm day drinking somewhere. Okay, but this could go on for years, this concert tour the way he's doing it.
SPEAKER_00I know. Right now he's only released two cities. Oh my god, it's great. Thank you, Garth. All right, thank you. I'm ready for the game.
SPEAKER_01All right. So, as I said, producer and I this weekend will attend three birthday parties, 10, 50, and 80. Driving all over for these parties. At one point, Glenn Fry's The Heat is on, came on the radio. And then I told you, Ed's like, what movie is this from? We went through this whole thing. So it gave me the inspiration for today's trivia game. I'm gonna give you five hit songs, okay, and you're gonna guess which hit movie each one came from. Okay. So we are playing We Need to Talk movie sound track showdown. Okay. Let's start with the 80s, which you love. I love the 80s. The Power of Love by Huey Lewis in the news was written specifically for which hit in the 1980s film. Was it a big, back to the future, dirty dancing, or none of the above? Back to the future. Back to the future is correct. Huey Lewis actually made a cameo in the film as the judge who tells Marty McFly's band that they are just too darn loud. Yes. Okay. Question two.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Don't you forget about me? Breakfast Club. Simple Minds, only number one single in the United States. Which 1985 movie was it connected to? Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, Pretty in Pink, none of the above. Look, Breakfast Club, look. Good job, Breakfast Club. I'm being Judd Nelson at the end of the movie. Amazing.
SPEAKER_00My arm up like him.
SPEAKER_01Question three. We're moving on to 1990. I'm not as good at the 90s. All right, you're very good at the 80s. 80s, I know. Brian Adams, everything I do, I do it for you. Spent seven weeks at number one in the United States in 1991. Okay. Which movie featured the song? I don't know. Was it Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, Titanic, The Princess Bride, or None of the Above? I'm gonna say none of the above. It was Robin Hood. Oh, that was my guess. Damn it. Okay. I told you I don't know the 90s. Question four. Okay. So far, are you not doing that? Gangsta's Paradise by Coolio became a major hit and won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance. Which box office hit featured the song?
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01New Jack City, Toys in the Hood, Dangerous Minds, none of the above.
SPEAKER_00I don't know the answer. None of the above.
SPEAKER_01Dangerous Minds and Michelle Pfeiffer, who starred in Dangerous Minds, also appeared opposite Coolio in the music video. Go on to the 2000s and layup right here. Okay. Accidentally in Love by Counting Crows received Grammy, Golden Globe, and Academy Award nominations. Which movie featured the song? Spider-Man 2, American Pie 2, Shrek 2, or none of the above. Is it Shrek 2 or is it Shrek? Oh, Shrek 2. Okay. Yes. Counting Crows actually performed at the Academy Awards. All right, not bad. Not bad. Three is still. I'm just not good at the 90s. 90s are tough. I was working. I was starting my career. I was very busy in the 90s. Not like the Gen Z people, we don't know what. All right, everybody.
SPEAKER_00Go Jackson Coyvin. War Eagle. Stay Pickled. Stay Flavia. We're back to that.
