How do you get someone to stop stealing confidential information at work? Apparently… you bite them. 😂

This week on We Need 2 Talk, we finally get the full story behind Christy’s infamous workplace biting incident — including why she bit her boss, how her mother responded, and the unbelievable way the story came back years later at a business lunch.

Then we get into everything we're watching right now: the explosive return of Lioness, the new season of Ted Lasso, The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Buccaneers, The Shards, The Waterfront, My Life with the Walter Boys and more. We debate which shows are worth sticking with, which ones we've officially abandoned, and why some series take WAY too long to get to the good stuff.

Plus:
🍸 Life without internet (and why booze helps)
💇‍♀️ The never-ending battle with humidity hair
🐈 Timmy the cat's latest escape attempt
🌀 Our bizarre $38 "wave bed" experience
🚢 Why cruises might give us the ultimate ick
💰 Our dream of having "helicopter F.U. money"
💕 Pete Davidson's dating life
😳 The things that instantly give us "the ick"
🏎️ Lewis Hamilton, F1 and celebrity summer sightings
🎬 Our thoughts on the latest Bravo/Below Deck crossover
🧠 And a round of We Need 2 Talk Time Travel Trivia

And yes… we need to discuss whether dirty feet, foot-picking and certain celebrity behavior qualify as an automatic ick.

It's another very chaotic, very honest, very We Need 2 Talk episode.

SPEAKER_01

This week on We Need to Talk, we recap Christy's biting. The Lioness season three starts off with a bang. And do people give you the ick? Did you get a haircut?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what's supposed to do with my hair in this humidity. Forget it. Because the second you go outside, it's disastrous. It's terrible. I know. There's nothing you can do about this. I wonder what people do who live in places that are always humid. Like Florida. Like what do your Floridian friends do for their hair?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, she keratins it, but I mean still, I don't even know. Like all the keratin in the world is not gonna help.

SPEAKER_00

I have a lot of Florida friends. We should ask them what they do about their humidity hair. You're in a different location. I have to be. I have no internet. So I'm using my laptop and a hot spot on my phone to power this conversation. What happened to your internet? The house next to us is a rental. The neighbors moved out, new ones moved in, and when they the cable people came, somebody cut our line. So annoying. So we needed an appointment. Well, first of all, we're gonna come between 2 and 5. Okay, great. Rich couldn't go to the gym. They show up at 6 30. It's like what the fuck? So there's that. Then it's fixed. Then we have a storm on Friday and knocks out the internet for now. It's Sunday.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, terrible.

SPEAKER_00

And we're getting texts that say, please be patient. We're working on your area. We'll be up soon. Every two hours, I've been getting that for two days.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

It's insanity. I don't understand what's going on. Oh my gosh, the other thing that was really weird was I had an appointment for months because my driver's license is expiring to go to DMV to get the real ID new driver's license.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I get a confirmation. We drive to the lower eye to DMV. We're pulling in. Rich goes, where are all the cars? Oh, I don't know. Maybe we're just here at a good time. So we park and we go to the door, and there's a cop sitting there, a couple people. And he's like, Yeah, we're down. We're closed. You should have gotten a cancellation. I go, I have a confirmation. I don't have a cancellation. And he goes, Well, what time is your appointment? It was like 10 to 1. I go, my appointment's at 1.15. He's like, Oh, you're gonna get a cancellation any minute. I go, but my appointment's now. He's like, Well, we're closed. Nothing you could do. I go, oh my God. So I never get the cancellation until 140, which is after my appointment. So I leave, but I am gonna be away, and my driver's license expires on my birthday, and you need a valid driver's license to get a real ID. Yeah, I know I did it. So now what? In the email of the cancellation, it says that I will get special treatment even if I don't have an appointment at another DMV. So we're getting up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to drive to Oakland, New Jersey to get me a driver's license.

SPEAKER_01

And I hope they take me. It literally took like five minutes to get the real I day. The process.

SPEAKER_00

But did you have an appointment? Yeah. Because now I don't have an appointment. There's no appointments until after I get back. But if I do it after I get back, I don't have a valid driver's license. Oh my God.

SPEAKER_01

Terrible. It's ridiculous. Good morning, everyone. I don't even know. Did the show start already? Good morning. Good morning. I don't know if this show started, but we're venting about you can't even deal anymore. Life's problem. We got real problems here. We got no internet. Thank God we have water. And booze. Don't forget that. I got hammered last night.

SPEAKER_00

I have a little bit of a headache.

SPEAKER_01

God, I went to bed so late. The late, the late nights, and they just don't work out well for me. Like 2 a.m.

SPEAKER_00

You went to bed at 2 a.m.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Why?

SPEAKER_00

What were you doing till 2 a.m.?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. And I'm tired, and my cat, my cat doesn't understand time. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

See, Timmy wants breakfast.

SPEAKER_01

Timmy's down to six lives. You start with nine, and he now has six. He flew out the window again.

SPEAKER_00

Again?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Was Jackson there? No, no dog involved. He just felt like jumping out a window.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_01

My sister's working in one of the rooms. The dog's here for a week. So he's been basically locked to the upstairs. He climbs onto the windowsill and she opens a window for him and he's laying in the sun. He loves this shit. But he's not thin. You know, none of us are thin. And I guess it's like he's he's turning over. He pushed onto the window. And I blame Ed because clearly, because clearly these windows aren't fucking in right. Didn't you just get new windows? No, no. We need new windows.

SPEAKER_00

But you know, he told me you were getting new windows.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he tells you everything fence, windows. We don't have these 20 grand projects. So anyway, I hear this loud noise, and then my sister comes down the stairs, and she said, Timmy flew out the window. I'm screaming. He had to hit like a bush coming down. He could have been seriously hurt. So Ed goes running outside and he was fine. He wasn't hurt, actually. I don't know how. He wasn't hurt. But we're down to six lives. We don't have much. I expect. Timmy, stay inside. It's really not great out there. But I blame Ed. He's like, the window wasn't in right. I don't know what the fuck happened. Been a weekend, man. Is Brother Paul in Miami? Brother Paul's in Florida. Yeah, last night he was in Miami.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he looked like he was having fun, but I was wondering where Jackson is. Jackson is with his grandma. Grandma.

SPEAKER_01

Jackson doesn't want to go outside because it's fucking hot.

SPEAKER_00

Too hot for Jackson.

SPEAKER_01

Right. So she's having trouble getting him outside, but I don't want to go outside either.

SPEAKER_00

So I think nobody wants to go out right now. It's too hot.

SPEAKER_01

My hair is not looking good, and I don't know what to tell everybody. Yeah, here we are. And I'm sweating. It's hot in this basement.

SPEAKER_00

I'm hot right now. I don't know why I'm drinking tea.

SPEAKER_01

It's making the hen's in the basement. Right. I'm drinking coffee. It's really not good. You don't have no cocktail this morning? I just went to bed. I literally just went to bed. So no, I just uh I put my cocktail down from the night, made my coffee. Fucking crazy.

SPEAKER_00

All right. How was your treatment yesterday? Okay, so we did this thing. It's called a wave bed. I've never heard of this before. We got this thing in the mail, and it says it'll help your spine, it'll help your neck, all these years of sitting. It's supposed to be good for you. And it was 38 bucks. And I said to Rich, Do you want to do it? He's like, Yeah, well, I'll do it. So we go and you get put on this bed, and they strap your feet into this thing, and you uh wear the heated mask, they put a blanket on you, and the foot part starts rocking really slowly. But you can feel it, it's like fixing your spine, and then it goes faster and faster, and then when that gets fast, the table starts to go up to 30 degrees. So you're sort of slanted and it's doing this, doing this, and you're shaking it, you're shaking, and it does that for 35 minutes. And then when you're done, does it feel good or are you nauseous? No, it felt really good. And then when you're done, you go to this other table and it vibrates your whole body to get your blood circulating. And when they stop, it feels like amazing, like this crazy sensation, almost like the blood is above you. I don't know, it's crazy. It was the weirdest thing I ever did. And then when you're done with that, the lady comes over and she takes this theragon on steroids and she does like a five-minute back massage thing. So it was $38 each. Supposed to be $67. If you buy one, $38 each. So the guy says, That seems cheap, though. Even for the 67, I thought it was cheap. Yeah, me too. But then it was $38. So then the guy goes, super nice guy. His name's David. And he says, if you buy a package of four for $200, which would make the four sessions $50 each, I'll give you the ones you had today for free. So basically six of them for $200 is $33. How's this guy gonna make any money? Makes no sense. The math doesn't make sense. Was it in like it's in a very weird location? It's in an office building in like Suite 501. You go into Suite 501 and it's like all these beds and music and tea and shit. And it was really good. We definitely are going back. I feel really good today. It was just odd, like I never heard of this before. That's kind of cool. It was called a wave bed. I've never heard of it. No, never. It's supposedly big in China. We just get like a fucking flyer in the mail.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I'll try anything. I'm retired. You're retired. I'll do anything. They're retired. You was cracking me up. I know. It's this flyer in the mail.

SPEAKER_00

I say yes to everything. When can you come? I don't know. Monday's great. Saturday 10 is great. Everything's great. That's amazing. I'll try anything. I got a lot, a lot, a lot of texts about the biting.

SPEAKER_01

Because let me just say this. I said it live as it was happening last week. You don't just make a casual fucking statement about how you bit someone and expect everything to just continue. Like I stopped the show. I pointed out that you bit someone, right? But yes, of course, I got texts too. What do you mean she bit someone? I'm like, I don't know what to tell you. She's had a lot of therapy. We're better now. She's not gonna bite you if you see her.

SPEAKER_00

Let me just say this, people. I've only done it once. It's not like I'm a biter, no.

SPEAKER_01

But most people have done it zero to run. There's no scenario in my life as an adult where I would have bit someone. Well, you were an adult. You were an adult. You weren't then.

SPEAKER_00

No, I was 23. Yeah. Adult. All right. So I guess very quickly, I need to explain it so that everybody's short, very short and short. Back in the day when we went to work, there was no social media, so you had to talk to each other. And we would have lunch with each other. Wow. People would have lunch and you would all eat together. And so back then, all the assistants, every lunch period, were given a question and we had to survey our coworkers, and then we'd sit at lunch and go over the answers. And your buyer gave you the question. So my question, when it was my turn, because we rotated, was the age at which you lost your virginity. The way I did it was I had the buyer's list of everybody's name, and I just went, Do you want to be in the lunch question today? They said yes or no. And I said, I'm not going to say anybody's name, just the ages. So one woman who is a very annoying person in general and in the business, everybody knows her as an annoying person. Okay. She tried to grab the list from me that had everybody's names and ages of when they lost their virginity. And I was fighting with her because it was private, and I couldn't get her to not take it unless I bit her. So to protect the innocent, I had to bite somebody. And she was my boss at the time. This crazy lunatic told on me and called my mom and said that your daughter's an animal and you need to pay for me to get a rabies shot.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

All right.

SPEAKER_01

One thing at a time. Obviously, I would have told on you too. Of course I bit her. I mean, I get it. Right. How did she call your mom?

SPEAKER_00

How did she get your mom's phone number? I don't even know, but to my mom's credit, my mother said, best ever. If my daughter bit you, she must have had a good reason.

SPEAKER_01

Send me the bill. You know what? Right. Right. She must have had a good reason if she bit you. Exactly. And you didn't get fired. I didn't get fired. Tell everybody you did fire.

SPEAKER_00

I did not get fired. And Sharon Lalick, best boss ever, calls me into her office. And she says, just like Captain Sandy, I can't believe I'm saying this, but did you bite this person? And I said, Yes, I did. And she said, I don't even want to know what. But can you promise me it won't happen again? And I said, I'll try.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my God.

SPEAKER_00

But everybody knew how annoying this woman was. So she got it. But Sharon, so she didn't fire me. She didn't even report me. She didn't write me up. She didn't put me on pip, nothing. She just said, okay, just don't do it again. But then years later, two jobs later, I'm at a beautiful luncheon at the water club. Remember the water club? I was at a beautiful luncheon at the water club. And I'm with a new boss at that luncheon. And that woman who I bit was at the luncheon. And she comes over to me, like, Christy, hi. Oh my god. Oh, this is your new boss. And she goes, Yeah, no, she bit me years ago.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, don't freaking tell my brand new boss that I bit her years ago. I mean, you deserve it. It was ridiculous.

SPEAKER_00

If you ever met this woman, you would know why I bit her.

SPEAKER_01

She's biteable. It's just the craziest thing. But yes, all right, so you got it, listeners. Okay, listeners, that's the story. But again, we paid for a lot of therapy. I'm over it. And she's over it. She's not biting anybody. She hasn't been at she hasn't bit anybody in 30 years.

SPEAKER_00

I have a clean record. It's been expunged from my record.

SPEAKER_01

Right. You're gonna get a real ID, and there'll be no sign of biting anywhere. Right.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so that's it.

SPEAKER_01

So mad about the fucking Zach Brown cruise giveaway because I'm going to see Zach Brown. And why couldn't I be at the concert when there was a cruise giveaway?

SPEAKER_00

Okay, but here's the thing: why Boston of all the towns in the world? Why would he choose our biggest nemesis? Boston, Fenway Park, to give away 35,000 cruises. Why Boston?

SPEAKER_01

And I know it's like a collapse. Margaritaville, it's fine. Yeah, we get it. And he's not paying for all of it. But it's like if I'm in the audience, I'm fucking psyched. It's a really good giveaway.

SPEAKER_00

I'm not a cruiser though. I've never been on a cruise ever. Have you?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah, but as a young adult, my first trip with my friends. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Like a carnival cruise.

SPEAKER_01

Like it never went on.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like cruises would freak me out. I don't like to be I don't like people enough.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't like people. And I don't like to be trapped.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't like to be trapped and also a lot of germs and things on cruises. And then you get those viruses and I don't want a virus. I don't want to be stuck on a boat. I'm so nervous about time and being late that if I took an excursion and then they said, Oh, you have to be back on the boat at three o'clock, I'd be like, oh, we need to leave at one to be back at three. So I would be so nervous. I agree. I agree. I don't like that idea. And also I don't trust my willpower of food because everybody tells me when you're on a cruise, there's food and drink everywhere. I would eat all of it and drink all of it. And then I'd get sick and then I wouldn't be able to go on the excursion.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't even like the fact when you go to one of those towns that you have to get there by boat. Yeah, I don't like that either. Fire Island or the Cape or something. I need to get out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I get it. We need an escape route at all times.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I don't want to rely on anybody else's timelines. Right. Right. It's just not for me.

SPEAKER_01

Plus, I also like to eat and I like to go to restaurants. If you're taking me somewhere, then I want to be able to experience restaurants wherever you're taking me. I don't want to be on the boat eating with the captain at eight o'clock.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

Unless it was Captain Sandy. Unless it was Captain Sandy, who's badass.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I love her.

SPEAKER_01

Love it. And it's gonna be a collab of Summer House. But I don't know. So did you watch it when they did it with the Real Housewives of I've never watched Summer House at all? No, the collab. I think it was Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. They went on the boat.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_01

They went on a below deck. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Not Captain Sandy boat. I don't know which boat. Not Captain Lee or Captain Sandy. Was it the the hot guy?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I gotta look it up. I don't think remember seeing it. That's why I was like, I don't remember. Even though I don't watch that real housewives, I would have known. So what does that mean?

SPEAKER_00

The people from below deck are gonna be in the summer house? No, the summerhouse has to be on the boat. Okay. Yeah, which would be so fun. Well, for you, I don't know who the summer house people are.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you know them. You see them. It's that whole scandal. Like she's oh, Amanda's fired, but Kyle and Sierra, the girl who was on the bio.

SPEAKER_00

I still know who they are, but I don't know their saga.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, it's gonna be great. So excited about it. I love when Bravo does that. Did you see this whole thing now on below deck? They get rid of Luke, who just done the sheets, and then Nate throws his back out. Yeah, and then he has to leave. They're down people. Yeah, this Captain Sandy, I feel bad for her. She's having a rough one.

SPEAKER_01

But they're good. These guys are good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they're good at their jobs, and the chef is amazing.

SPEAKER_01

I went to a restaurant last week, and it's on the water in Greenport, and all of these yachts were everywhere. Oh, really? And I was staring at it because it was huge. I'm looking at the deck ends and oh, like they were that big that they had a staff? Oh, yes, staff. And I'm looking around the restaurant. I'm trying to figure out who's eating at this restaurant is on one of those boats. You can usually figure it out because they they look bougie, right? Or they're speaking another language. Yeah, staring at everybody.

SPEAKER_00

I never thought about below deck being on Long Island.

SPEAKER_01

Well, we have a lot of boats that come in like from the Bahamas, from the Virgin Islands, and then they pull in a green port, and then I guess the people have dinner or in the deck hands are getting supplies and washing the boat, and I'm watching it. Well, it could be Jalen and Josh, who are fucking all over the Hamptons.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I saw that. I follow them.

SPEAKER_01

Why? I'm not going to Montauk, so it's not like I'm gonna run into them. They're so close. Why wouldn't you just go and stalk them a little bit? Montauk's far.

SPEAKER_00

Everything's far out there.

SPEAKER_01

Everything's far.

SPEAKER_00

Everything's far. I'm getting there now and getting back. I went to see my friend Diane to help her do some organizing because she needed my help. And it took two and a half hours to get from her house to my house.

SPEAKER_01

I was with these people the other night. They don't listen to this podcast, so it's okay. And I'm not saying anything wrong, but they live by the Lenova. Okay. So I said, Wow, how long did it take for you to get here? And she says, Oh, we well, we actually were in the Jersey Shore for a couple of days. I said, Oh, still far, but not as far. And she's like, Yeah, I was looking up traffic, and it was five and a half hours. And I turned to my husband, I said, Can't do it. She has three kids. So we just took a helicopter. So she took a fucking helicopter. And she's taking a helicopter home. Right. Because if you have that kind of money, I'd take a helicopter. I'm taking a fucking helicopter too.

SPEAKER_00

Fuck yeah. I wish I had helicopter F you money. Exactly. Wouldn't that be great? We fucking need helicopter money. Yeah, we gotta get the word out on this podcast so we can take helicopters to see each other.

SPEAKER_01

So that you're driving at Diane's for hours when you could have just flown in our backyard.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, wouldn't that be so good if we had a helicopter?

SPEAKER_01

Here I am sweating in the basement. It's all right. People are taking helicopters. I fucking saw that that show got renewed. Speaking of helicopters, because they looked like they had FU money in five-star weekends. We said that it was gonna get renewed. I mean, come on. Said it was gonna get renewed, but there's no book.

SPEAKER_00

Right, there's no book. They'll have to make it up.

SPEAKER_01

So now we're making up the story. It's all right, they'll just have another five-star weekend in another location. You think that's what they're gonna do? Yeah. You think that the premise will be that they're all gonna get together again?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So they're not gonna follow the lives, how we left off. They're just gonna pick up a year later.

SPEAKER_00

Remember, they said we should do this every year. So they'll do it next year and we'll get an update on everybody's lives, right? A happy for the cock. It was the number one show in the good for them. Well, that show Sterling Points, not from a book. I thought it was serious books. Nope, Sterling Point's not from a book at all. It's an original. She looks exactly like Ann Hathaway. Yeah, her name is Ella Rubin.

SPEAKER_01

I don't really know how I feel about the show. Um Did you finish? No, I'm on episode four.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I finished it. And I'm not sure how I feel. So I did enjoy the show, but it took me a really long time to understand the premise because the premise is that Annie and Connor are these twins. Annie is Ella Rubin, and Connor is Mark Buffalo's son in real life.

SPEAKER_01

Yo, you know what? I didn't know that until you told me, and now I can't unsee it. Yeah, he looks like he looks just like him.

SPEAKER_00

Ella Rubin played Anne Hathaway's daughter in that show we watched. She was dating the young rock star.

SPEAKER_01

She looks exactly like Ann Hathaway.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But anyway, they inherit this island from their grandfather. They didn't know the grandfather. And the grandfather was the father of their adopted mother who died when they were two. Yeah. So they barely knew their mother. No, didn't know their grandfather. And he leaves them this island. Annie goes to the island and ends up meeting all these people on the island who knew her grandfather and her mother. Let's just go with that. Is it gonna be that that guy Joe is the father? Not saying anything about it because there's a lot of twists and turns. Twists and turns. I'm on episode four. There's been no twists and no turn. The issue I had is they're talking about their mother as if she they knew their mother. Mom this, mom that, but they're they were two. They didn't even know her. Are they the same age? No, because Annie and Connor are turning 18. That's when they can sell the island if they want. Yeah. And Ramona is 16. So the math was really hard for me to understand.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if the father knows that there's a kid. Let's slow moving here. Sterling Point. It's on Amazon Prime. There are eight episodes.

SPEAKER_00

And are you now saying that you enjoyed the show? I did end up enjoying it. And of course, it leaves you hanging that it could come back for another season. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I'll let you know. Obviously, I'll finish it this week, but right now it's very slow moving to me. And the only thing I'm enjoying is that I think that she's pretty and she's a good actress. Other than that, I'm good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the two guys that like her. There's one that I like, Ellis, and then there's the other one who's a kind of a douche, and I don't even understand why she likes him. Yeah, I don't know. Also, she gets on this island, makes friends in two seconds, makes out with people in three seconds. She's ingrained in everybody's lives in 10 seconds. It makes no sense. You can't make friends that fast, and you can't make out with people that fast.

SPEAKER_01

It's a weird show. All right, fine. So the other show, how it's on season three, I don't fucking know. Of my life with the Walter boys.

SPEAKER_00

Right. I'm on episode four of that, and so far nothing has happened at all.

SPEAKER_01

I'm on episode four, also, and I don't understand because I think that Cole and even his brother are cute. They're cute.

SPEAKER_00

The rest of them are yucky.

SPEAKER_01

Jackie is not cute.

SPEAKER_00

Nobody other than Cole and Alex and the mom who is from Suits. Nobody else is cute.

SPEAKER_01

But they all like her, and she's not cute. Everybody likes her. I think it's just a small town thing. You know, when you're in a small town and you have slim pickings, then that's what happens. I guess so. It's like the girl from Sterling Point. You're in a small town, and now everybody wants to hook up with her. Right. You infiltrate so fast. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Like finish it, but it better be over.

SPEAKER_01

We keep talking about how these shows take forever. Like I'm waiting for the summer I turn pretty, and we're waiting for heated rivalry, and we're waiting for on campus, you know, all these things that we'll do. On campus is coming back pretty fast. And thank god Miss Walter Boys is always back. And I don't need it back. Just say, oh, here we go, another season, it's back.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And it's the same thing every season. Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

They've run out of storylines. There's nothing left for them. I agree. This better be the last season. And then the other show that launched that we thought we were gonna really like was The Shards, and I couldn't even get through the first episode.

SPEAKER_01

I'm sad about that because we were so pumped on the Cindy Crawford Richard Gear shit. Ryan Murphy's a fucking whackadoodle.

SPEAKER_00

I kind of feel like I don't really like anything that Ryan Murphy does other than Niptuckley and what else did Ryan Murphy do that we liked.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I used to think I liked Ryan Murphy, but now in this past few years, all the shit that he does, I'm like, well, I don't get it. He's very creepy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. American horror stories we don't like. And I made a show I don't like. I made it through 10 minutes of the show. Yeah, it's got this weird California vibey, creepy. Something about the way the guy talks, the main character, I guess Brett is his name, right? He's supposed to be Brett Easton Ellis, the writer who did less than zero, and it's based on one of his books. It's a collab between him and Ryan Murphy. But do you ever listen to Sirius XM's Yacht Rock channel? Of course. So you know the voice that says, hey everybody. Yeah. That voice is the way that that guy was talking. And I thought, do pee did people in the 80s in LA speak like that? Yeah, it's weird. Really weird.

SPEAKER_01

And I like the 80s, but uh give me the 80s in New York City.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, exactly. I don't think I liked the 80s in LA. I made it 10 minutes. I really couldn't deal with it. There's a serial killer, which normally I like a good serial killer, but this time didn't even like it. I didn't like the name of the serial killer.

SPEAKER_01

You like a good serial killer.

SPEAKER_00

I do. I do like a serial killer.

SPEAKER_01

You finished that other show.

SPEAKER_00

I'm too afraid to watch it. The thing about Widows Bay that makes me very angry is it's not solved by the end of the series, which pissed me off because I thought it was a one and done. So you don't have any answers. I have the answer, but now what they're gonna have to do to save the island isn't really good. And now we have to wait for that to come back to save the island. I'm not gonna watch it. No, you should not watch it. You will not like it. It is funny, that's what keeps you going, but there are scary things. Yeah, no. I've spent, I would say, 20% of the entire series with my eyes closed with Rich narrating for me. I'd rather watch the fucking Walter boys. We had two good ones come back.

SPEAKER_01

Well, Lioness. Holy shit.

SPEAKER_00

That was a really good first episode. It was so intense. So intense. This Zoe Seldana, I gotta say, she's unbelievable. Yeah, she's a badass. So, you guys, if you're not watching The Lioness on Paramount Plus, you really should. It's about this covert CIA anti-terror group that is led by Zoe Seldana. But the cool part is they try to make it like, okay, so she has to go to work and go kill people. Yeah. And then she also has two daughters, and a husband is a doctor, and she's gotta come home and make dinner and work life balance when you're fighting terrorists. Oh my god, it's crazy. Now it's brought to her front door. Yeah. And at the very beginning of season three, she gets kidnapped.

SPEAKER_01

We're talking about season three of The Life with the Walter Boys. This is a show where things happen. It's season three. Second one. Second one. Right. Five seconds into the show, you're flipping out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but you know what's so funny? So we're watching the show, right? And somebody comes to her door in the show. Yeah. She's got her gun. He's like, you know, we need to come in. She's like, You're not fucking coming to my house. And she goes and answers the door. She doesn't get her husband. She goes and she's not afraid. I see someone come up my driveway. I'm like, Rich, someone's coming. Go to the door. I'm not going. Like, I don't go to the door for anybody. I agree. No. She's right at that door and she's got the gun. She's like, you're not fucking coming in my house.

SPEAKER_01

It's so good. She's good. Welcome back, Lioness. It was nice to see Nicole. Everyone's back. It drops weekly, so we only had one episode. Yes. Do I need him to be acting though? So Taylor Sheridan, who I don't need him to be acting.

SPEAKER_00

He's also part of the group, and he's a badass, too. He's a major badass. You could tell he wants to be in this show. He's in it.

SPEAKER_01

He puts himself in every show. And he's a badass in every show. He had a big role in this first one.

SPEAKER_00

This one's big. This is probably the biggest role he's ever had in any of his shows. Don't you think?

SPEAKER_01

I think so. Yeah. But I mean, I couldn't take it. No.

SPEAKER_00

Taylor. They all wear these giant packs, these helmets, these cameras. Like, do you think that that weight on them is real, or do you think that those are lighter packs for TV?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I did see this was years ago when the first season started. The amount of training that she had to do for the show. She's little. Was intense. So some of it is real. It's amazing. She did a lot of that training.

SPEAKER_00

She looks good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she's no joke. And Nicole looks good. Welcome back. No, she always looks good. I mean, she really does. We did. All right. So we had the lioness. That's on Paramount. Highly recommend.

SPEAKER_00

That's a stream it, stream it, stream it. Highly recommend.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like the lioness may have been one of our top five one year.

SPEAKER_00

It definitely was.

SPEAKER_01

And the wait is over, and Ted Lasso cannot even believe I'm saying it, is back.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's back for another three season story arc about Ted coaching this woman's soccer team. I thought the first episode was a little boring.

SPEAKER_01

I think we needed to kind of set the stage. Yes. I get why they had to do it that way. How he goes back. But it's interesting because my hairdresser actually said to me, I felt like in the first five minutes or 10 minutes that it was a dream. It was just a weird thing. Like he's in a supermarket. It was a little bizarre and it was a little slow. It was good to see everyone. Now I know the kid is going with it. The kid and the ex-wife. Right. So she definitely dumped that guy because he was a loser. Right. And now we're all getting a little change of scenery. We're going to go to London.

SPEAKER_00

There's also a ton of Easter eggs in that first episode that I had to learn about, of course, on TikTok. Because apparently the episode is called Home, and there's a lot of references to the Wizard of Oz in it. And then there's all these other references to previous Ted Lasso things. Juno Temple was wearing those red sparkly shoes, like Dorothy's red slippers. And there's just all these Easter eggs in the first episode that I didn't pick up on at all until TikTok told me to notice these things. So now I'm gonna go back and look at all these things again because there were so many of them. And I'm like, oh my god, who thinks like that? I didn't notice anything. I was just watching the episode. And Casablanca, there's just a million things. I should have written them down, but there was tons of them. Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so that also will drop weekly. Yes. On Apple on Wednesdays. I think we have a shorter season. I think it's eight.

SPEAKER_00

I think it's only eight, yeah. I can't seem to confirm if Brett Goldstein is or is not in the writer's room this time. It says he is, but then somebody else says he's not the writer this year. Jason Sudegas and the coach are still the showrunners and the writers. I was trying to compare the writer's room for the first series versus this series to see if they're the same writers because I felt like the writing was good, but not as zippy as it had been.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's only been one episode. Let's everybody get back together. Gonna have coach in it now and all the people. So a lot of people back. It just makes you feel good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I was very happy. And did you notice that Rebecca gave Ted the cookie box, the pink cookie box, but she put tea in it? Yeah, I love it. That was cute.

SPEAKER_01

I love her in this role, not in the ride or die role. I love her in ride or die too.

SPEAKER_00

We're gonna agree to disagree on the ride or die, but I love her, and she's so pretty. Jason Sudakis has this foundation and he does this huge fundraiser every year, and she was there singing with him, and they did shallow together, and it was really good. They did? Yeah, they're both really good singers.

SPEAKER_01

I know they sing, but I didn't know if they were doing shallow. That's hard.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she killed it. Really? Yes. I'll send you the video.

SPEAKER_01

Love that.

SPEAKER_00

All right, that lot dropped this week. We had said last week that this coming week was a lot, and then we have a lot to come as well.

SPEAKER_01

I really didn't catch up with any of the other shows. Are you up to date with Big Bro? Yeah, I'm up to date with Big Brother, but like some of those other shows, I think you said you stopped watching Lucky. Yeah, gave it up. Yeah, so I'm not up to date there, and I'm not up to date on the other one with the girl from Shameless, which you're not watching. I'm not watching that.

SPEAKER_00

And then trying I'm up to date. Are you up to date with that one? No. This week's episode was about that whole idea called the ick when you're dating someone and or you have a crush on someone or you like someone, or even I guess you could say about your husband too, but they do something and it gives you the ick and you're out.

SPEAKER_01

I'll see this. I just learned about that the ick in the last, I would say, five years. I really didn't.

SPEAKER_00

I think the ick is new.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't know what that term meant.

SPEAKER_00

No, I think the ick is a new term. We never said the ick.

SPEAKER_01

I remember asking my sister and brother, and they were like, Yeah, I don't know what the fuck that means.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, well, the perfect definition of it is in this week's episode.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I don't like what's happening in the show. Me either. I was turned off with the mice, I told you. Yep. And then please don't let me think that you're gonna cheat on this guy because I I don't like it. It's already not making me want to watch the next episode as well.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you'll you'll be happy with this episode. But it is about that thing called the ick.

SPEAKER_01

Well, the ick would be so bad that you wouldn't have gotten married. So it's hard to say, do we have the ick with our husbands? Isn't the ick something that turns you off and you walk the other way?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. So I would think that you can't have the ick about your husband or your partner that you choose to spend your life with. That's just called they annoy me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they annoy me. Right. Which is every day. Every single day. No, and I know that there are things that, okay, there's certain things that annoy people more than others. Something Rich does that irks you, something Ed does it irks me, but it's not really the ick.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I guess if we weren't married to them and we were considering spending our life with them, if you saw those things now, would you continue to go to the path?

SPEAKER_01

Like if I wasn't married to him and he spent a whole day walking around barefoot in the dirt and grass, and then once again, yeah, right. That could give me the ick. I don't like bare feet ever. You gotta wash your feet, dude.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, bare feet freak me out. I don't like it. I don't like bare feet. Don't bring your dirty feet in my bed, don't bring your dirty feet in my house, don't put your dirty feet on my furniture. I don't like dirty feet. Dirty feet's disgusting. I don't like it either. First of all, I don't like feet, I don't really enjoy them myself. Feet are gross, right? Yeah, but dirty feet are nasty. It's worse. Nasty.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_00

And also don't touch your feet and then touch anything in my house.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, God, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

All right, yeah, disgusting. You're making me sick. I just let the bed.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Oh, gross. All right, yeah. So all right. So the ick. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I get it. I get why people.

SPEAKER_00

If you were on a date with Ed before you decided to be with him, if you were on a date with him and he picked his feet and then wanted to make out with you, you would be like, I have the ick, and I'm never seeing you again. Yes, got it. No, I get it. Go home and be like, you are not gonna believe what this guy did. Picked his feet, touched me.

SPEAKER_01

Speaking of the ick, do you understand how Pete Davidson gets all these women? No, I really don't understand.

SPEAKER_00

The only thing is when he's dating this Sarah Jane.

SPEAKER_01

She's the hottest one, but she's a lesbian.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I thought she was a lesbian, maybe she's just bi. But in the whole season of Love Thy Nader, she was a lesbian, very lesbian-ish. I don't know. The most beautiful lesbian on the planet, she's still a lesbian.

SPEAKER_01

She's smoking hot.

SPEAKER_00

He obviously has a type, man. All of his women are very similar.

SPEAKER_01

He's funny, right? He's a local guy. I get it.

SPEAKER_00

He obviously likes the dark hair, the dark eyes.

SPEAKER_01

But I don't find him to be so attractive that he gets all these people.

SPEAKER_00

It's definitely not because he owns a fairy.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's not because he owns a fairy. Now he has a kid. Think about it now. Baggage. He has a fairy and a baby. He's got a fairy and a baby. Yeah. Right. Ick. And she dumped him, right? She dumped him.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

There's a reason why she dumped him.

SPEAKER_00

I know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that gives me the ick. Could be the fairy. Right. Who knows? Who knows what he does? And you know what else is bizarre? And I'm listening I don't talk about other people's children, but I would like Kim. I know I'm sure Kim's listening to this. But I would like to know Kim Kardashian. Yeah. What is happening with North? She scares the hell out of me.

SPEAKER_00

What is she a scary child? What is happening though? All I know is if I had her in my house, I would probably never leave my room because I'd be afraid. Is it because her father's whacked out? I think she's a genius. I think she's like him. She's got that crazy artistic geniusness, and they're letting her have freedom of expression. Okay. But she's scary.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_00

Like, listen to the lyrics of her song. She's scary. Those fake piercings all over the place. She's not 15, she's 12. That's what I mean. She's traveling all over the world. She doesn't go to school. The whole thing's cray cray to me. I'm more afraid of her than anything else. If she came to my door, oh my god, I would flip out.

SPEAKER_01

If I'm the perfect specimen of Lewis Hamilton, and I walk into that house. And I walk into North, I'd be like, what's happening here?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He's just perfect.

SPEAKER_00

Lewis is perfect. Everything is in everything, the way he speaks, the way he dresses, the way he walks, the way he talks. He's a good guy. This is what he's doing. He's a wonderful human specimen. And he's philanthropic, and he's just the perfect, perfect person. And now he has to deal with all these kids and all these people. Right. It's just a lot. Yeah, I agree. It's a lot.

SPEAKER_01

But all right. We love that couple though.

SPEAKER_00

We don't want them to break. I mean, it's summer break for F1, and he's been with them the whole time. Well, not the whole time. He's been doing a little bit of other things, but he's been at that lake. He's at belts and motorcycles, they're going running. He doesn't have his he has his hair loose. Everyone's there. I know. It's craziness. Yeah, yeah. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Although I don't know if North is at the lake. When I'm looking at the lake, and then she'll pop up on my social media too. And I'm like, what's happening? Yeah, it's very weird. All right. Do we have anything else? Nope. That's everything on my list. All right. Well, I have a game for you because as I said, and I say I've been saying it since July 5th, the summer is over. No, it's so decided that we're going to turn back the clock. To what? We're going to play We Need to Talk Time Travel Trivia. So Time Travel Trivia. I'm going to give you seven sets of moments, and you're going to tell me which came first. Okay? So for example, here's my number one. Which came first? McDonald's or Disneyland? Disneyland. McDonald's 1940. Disneyland 1955.

unknown

Damn it. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. We're turning back a time. Which came first? James Bond or the Super Bowl? James Bond or the Super Bowl. This one's hard. I'm gonna go with James Bond. You are right. 1962 for Bond and Super Bowl is 1967. Oh, I thought it was 66. Okay. Alright, which came first? Survivor or American Idol? Oof. Survivor. Correct. Well, the 7000 seasons, so right. Survivor is 2000, American Idol is 2002. Which came first? The PlayStation or the DVD? I'm gonna say the DVD. PlayStation came first. 1994. Really? The DVD is 1996. Wow. Which came first? Facebook or the iPad? Facebook. Yes. Facebook 2004, iPad 2010.

SPEAKER_00

Remember when Facebook first came out, and you're like, why would anybody want that? I know. I had no vision at all. What was the first one called MySpace? I remember when someone was trying to explain MySpace to me, and I go, why would anybody want to do that? And now it's part of our life. Now I'm back to hating Facebook, though I don't go on Facebook. I do because of the podcast. But other than that, I'm barely ever on it.

SPEAKER_01

Which came first?

SPEAKER_00

Google or Netflix? Oh, I was a first person to use Netflix when you would send it in the envelope. Yes. My dad. So I'm gonna say Netflix came before Google.

SPEAKER_01

1997 Netflix. Fuck yeah. Google 1998. Yep. All right, last question. You're doing good. I'm doing good. Which came first?

SPEAKER_00

Back to the future or home alone? Oh, I feel like Back to the Future was first.

SPEAKER_01

Correct. Yes. 1985. Home Alone is 1990. One, two, three, four. You got five right. I did good out of seven. You did great. I also got a lot of shit about my game last week, too. Wait, my game that I did for you or that you did shitty at? That I did shitty at. Like, I get a fucking text message from Loyal Listener Regina. Are you serious? She tells me. First of all, I'm not good at games. We all know this. Second of all, I'm not a Marvel person. She's like, you can't be serious. I gotta get shit about that too. No, why don't you text me about my partner biting people instead of giving me shit about how bad I do on the game?

SPEAKER_00

I didn't get any notes from anybody about you not doing well.

SPEAKER_01

Because they're so because they're used to it now. Like she sucks at game. All right, everybody. Stay pickled. Have a good week. Love ya.

SPEAKER_00

Love ya. Hope I get the internet back.
