INTIMACY COORDINATOR: Ita O'Brien
Jul 13, 2020 Season 1 Episode 11
Kate

Do you want to work in film and tv? This week’s episode is an interview with the amazing Ita O’Brien, an intimacy coordinator and movement director - essentially, her role is to work on film and television sets and in theatre to provide expertise on dealing with sex, nudity and intimate scenes - she recently worked on the incredible Normal People, Sex Education, I May Destroy You - just to name a few. And so she was there to help both the cast and crew be on the same page, talk through the scenes, understand them, instill confidence in the cast in being able to say ‘no’ or ‘stop’ and help train them to take on these scenes in a way that not only comes across as a great performance but allows them to be wholly comfortable in how they perform it.

You can read up more about Ita at https://www.intimacyonset.com especially if you are part of a production, big or small, looking for help and guidance in this area and able to offer some of her training coordinators work experience. Let me know what you think -  hope you enjoy!
