SPEAKER_00

All right, Gen Olivia here for Series Silent Bodybuilding. I had to jump on here because uh Kamala Garney, I obviously you guys heard, um, was on Dennis James's podcast with Milos and Jose Raymond. And Kamal had some choice words for Andrew Jack. But it doesn't look like it's going in his direction as far as uh the uh fans and the followers, and especially me. So what we're gonna do is uh I actually have the clip up and ready to go. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna go through what he actually said and dissect it because it doesn't seem to make any sense. I watched the clip like three times already, and what he's saying doesn't seem to make any sense. Um, so why don't we just jump right in and see what Kamal has to say about Andrew Jack and if they're working together anymore? All right, the Menace Podcast. Here we go.

SPEAKER_02

And in Pittsburgh, but what's his plan? What the what are the plans for the Olympia this year?

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So just to give you guys a little bit of a summary, uh Chris Acido apparently contacted Kamal uh because he needed somebody to help Andrew Jack in the gym. Chris Asito does his dieting, he does his supplementation, does his super subs. Um, and then uh Kamal was his training partner and helping him get ready for the Olympia, helping him get ready for the Arnold Classic USA, and helping him get ready for the Arnold Classic UK. And so that is the background. So here is what he said when Dennis asked him, you know, what's the plan for the Olympia?

SPEAKER_04

Well, man, um I don't know. To be honest, I um I don't know. I don't know what you mean. Uh to be honest, I don't think I'm not gonna work with him anymore. What happened? Well, I mean, uh it's a big story, man. I don't know if I um uh uh there's a misunderstanding. Well, to be honest, I didn't get paid for what I done for him.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, listen to what he said. He said he didn't get paid. All right, we're gonna go through this word for word because he's he's really uh it seems like Kamal's feelings were hurt, and he's he's kind of trying to justify it. But to me, when we listen to this, uh you're gonna see that Kamal just made a bad mistake and didn't discuss what his pay was gonna be beforehand. So let's see. So simple.

SPEAKER_01

So very surprising. I mean, and hopefully he's listening to him. He's the biggest gentleman, so I don't think that that's gonna I I think he's gonna make it right. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And I mean and that is actually Milosa's right. Andrew Jack has the reputation of being a very uh being a gentleman and a professional. So it's very difficult right off the bat to believe that he's just not going to pay somebody that helped him along the way to his victories of the Arnold Classics.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, no, no, I mean to be honest, I wasn't expecting this. I was like, I don't want to even want to talk about it, but yeah, I want to talk about it.

SPEAKER_00

Uh I don't want to talk about that, but I want to talk about it. You knew they were gonna ask you about Andrew Jack, you're the guy that was that was in the gym with him every single day. Come on.

SPEAKER_02

Of course. Oh, listen, it's just between us fucking four. So yeah, yeah, yeah. Between us.

SPEAKER_04

We won't tell anyone. Yeah, I'm gonna make it as quick as possible because it's it's been because I've been with him. I I've been with him like for almost like what since the Olympia last year. So it's been like a long, long, long, long time. Um, you know when Chris called me first time, he said to me, uh, Kamal, Andrew is looking for a trainer. Um, and I told him there's two or three persons that I trust. You, Jose, and somebody else. I forgot the other name. So he told Andrew, I said, Well, there's three persons, that's what I trust. Choose whatever you want and whatever. So he chose, he said, okay, I'll train with Kemal. Said, okay, so Chris called me again. He said, Well, Andrew, he said he wants you to train him.

SPEAKER_00

I said, Okay. Reasonable, right? I mean, Chris gave him three guys to choose from that he's worked with in the past that he trusts, and he picks Kamal right off the bat, a great honor, but okay, here we go.

SPEAKER_04

Uh, is he gonna pay? Like, I'm not expecting that by just like by a joke, and he said yes, because I'd be Well, uh, see, this is where I don't understand.

SPEAKER_00

Is he gonna pay? But I'm not expecting that as like a joke.

SPEAKER_04

Been with Andrew for that long, I know for a long time. Andrew, he doesn't like favors and he doesn't like to bother anyone. Yeah, so I'm sure I'm sure he will understand, he will pay you. So, okay, fair enough. So we started. He came, we started with the first Olympia. Uh, we done the Olympia and then we did the Romania. So I was I didn't speak to him about money, I didn't do nothing. I was we wouldn't spoke.

SPEAKER_00

So he didn't talk to him about money at all. It never even came up in the conversation, right?

SPEAKER_04

So when he came back for the uh the prep for the Arnold at the gym, so we trained the first time, and then he got an envelope, okay? He got an envelope, he put it in my in my book kit. He said, What's this? He said, Yeah, this is just like for me, appreciation, whatever just from me. I said, What's that? I don't I don't need it. I don't I don't I don't need it.

SPEAKER_00

You heard him. I don't what's this? I don't need it. And Andrew said it's uh it's appreciation for you helping me. You heard his words. What's this? I don't need it because I don't ask.

SPEAKER_04

In my heart, I don't want nothing from him at the beginning.

SPEAKER_00

So we don't want anything from him, we want nothing from him. I'm just gonna help you.

SPEAKER_04

So I went back home. I gave it to my wife because I don't care about me. I gave it to my wife, she said nonsense. I said, Well, Mrs. Andrew gave it to me. She said to me, that's it. Is that what it? I said, how much? So he gave me three thousand.

SPEAKER_00

Three thousand dollars, and I spent And look at the look at everybody else's face. He's laughing. Everybody else is like thinking to themselves, well, you didn't tell him how much you wanted to get paid, so we gave you what you thought you deserved. And he said it was appreciation. You guys didn't even talk about money. The subject of money never came up.

SPEAKER_04

I said, Chris, he gave me three thousand dollars. I don't know what's this for. If he thinks that's what I worth, and this is why this is a mistake, he shouldn't have given it to me at the first.

SPEAKER_00

Or if you want to give me something, give me what so don't give it to him at all. He would rather have taken nothing. Right, you heard him. You shouldn't have given to me anything to begin with.

SPEAKER_04

I mean to travel with you, to be with you away from everything, man, is not is worth a lot more than that. And then I'll travel with you to Romania for two and a half weeks in Romania. I will stay that my friend, which is my friend, he paid completely for everything, their food, whatever, traveling, he did everything.

SPEAKER_00

And then so you heard him, his friend paid for everything in Romania, not him. His friend was happy to let him stay there and pay for everything. And so it doesn't look like Kamal had to go in his pocket for anything.

SPEAKER_04

This is this is not right. So, what what shall I say to him? He said to him, canal, I'm sure he will understand, he will whatever. So he said, Don't tell him anything about the Arnold, keep it until we finish the Arnold because he's already came. I can't even I don't want to upset him, I don't want to say so. I took it, and then when we finished the Arnold, we flew from the Arnold, we flew straight to the UK. So when we went to the airport, that is what has getted me. That's what has got me very bad. So we were going to the airport, so he checked himself in a business class and he checked me in economy class.

SPEAKER_00

All right, so that bothered him. That I guess in the UK they they use different lingo, but in the US it's first class and coach. So apparently Andrew Jack is in first class and Kamal is booked in coach. Now, okay. Let's be real here. Andrew can't fit in a fucking coach seat. Okay. But uh I see what he's saying. He should have put him in first class too. Okay, they're traveling together. I'll give him that much.

SPEAKER_04

And this is like somebody hit me with a knife in my back. I said, Do we fly together? You this do you do this to me? I said, if we're flying in my own, I'm fine. He said, That was not me because the airlines I book with them all the time, they upgraded me. I don't know that. I shut my mouth, went to UK. The next day I couldn't, I couldn't take it. I said, please sit down. I want to talk to you. So I spoke to him. I said, Listen, the first mistake you did, you gave me 3,000 for the Olympia. Uh, what is that for? He said, Well, this is nothing. I said, Listen, I am not cheap, and I'm not one of these whatever the guys you are around in Dubai that cheap.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, but why didn't you discuss the matter of money before you get started? Look, this is not a culture chain difference, it has nothing to do with culture, okay? No matter what country you're in, if you have a job to do, you discuss how much you're gonna get paid beforehand. Unless it's a friend and you're doing them a favor, okay? Before I worked in the sewer, for 10 years before that, I was an electrician. And for a long time after that, I still did side work. I still did electrical work on the side. From time to time, I still do it. Okay. I never did a job without discussing how much money I need to get paid. I never did a job without discussing how much any upfront. I never did a job discussing whether I get uh how much uh material is labor, so on and so forth. All these details come into play. And then if you want me to do the job, great. If you don't want me to do the job, find somebody else. So he he's saying that the 3,000 he's is was too small of a amount of money for him, but he never discussed how much money that he wanted in the first place. And he even said, What's this? What are you giving me for I don't I don't even want it? That's what he said. You heard him.

SPEAKER_04

I got more money than you. Believe me, I do got more money than you. Don't treat people like this. So I explained to him everything. Oh, he said, no, no, no, this is appreciation. I like surprises, whatever. I said, Well, you surprised me wrong. Really, you surprised me wrong. I feel like tomorrow I'm going away. I'm just gonna go, I'm going home. No, no, no, I will definitely fix this, blah, blah, blah, whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so Andrew Jack obviously felt bad. Clearly, he felt bad. Okay, I'll fix it. I felt bad, so on and so forth. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I said, okay, he maybe understands. I said, first of all, I didn't ask for money, but if you want to give me the money, like a change.

SPEAKER_00

Does that make sense? Does that make sense in any fucking culture? I didn't ask for money, but if you're gonna give me money, you need to give me a lot of money. I mean, does that make any fucking sense? We all know we all gotta make a living. We all know we gotta get paid. Things are not cheap. We all have to make a living. This is how these guys make a living. These are the upper echelon, the elite of the sport. Kamel Al-Khani was a champion 212 Mr. Olympia bodybuilder, and he he is right, he is not cheap if you want him to train you. And he did help Andrew Jack become an honor classic winner in the UK and the United States. There's no question about it. He clearly helped him, okay? We all know that. We all know that he pushed him in the gym. And it was him, Chris Asseto, and Andrew Jack together that that won those two shows. But you have to discuss how much you want to get paid beforehand. You don't start a job and then say to the guy, whatever you want to pay me, and then get insulted when he pays you less than what you expected.

SPEAKER_04

I worth a lot more than that. You want to give me the right money or don't give it to me because I didn't ask for it.

SPEAKER_00

I said, Don't give me any money because I didn't ask for it. So he you didn't ask for money. So Andrew Jack is thinking, let me, I I gotta give him something. He worked hard. I can't let him not. So if if I'm if I'm helping a friend do electrical work, for example, because that's that's the the world I'm I'm in. If I'm helping a friend do electrical work and I go, I don't, I don't need money, man. It's you know what I'm doing is to help you. And the guy shows money in my pocket and says, nah, take it, take it, take it, take it. Whatever he gives me, I would be very gracious. Because I said, Don't give me anything, I'm just here to help you. So if he literally buys me lunch, he goes, Lunch is on me. I I know you don't want to pay. Well, I literally that that would be like gratitude.

SPEAKER_04

And then after one week, so my wife called me, she said to me, Have you ordered anything? I said, What? They said there's a box arrived for you. I said, What kind of box? She said, I said open. I said, No, if you didn't order it, I don't want to open it. I don't know what's in it. I said, just open it. So if you open it, say, find a Rolex watch.

SPEAKER_00

The guy felt bad and went out and bought him a beautiful gift. Look, if I'm if you don't know how much Rolex watches are, okay, the cheapest one is like 20 grand, right? I mean, Kamala's really coming off like ungrateful here. Really ungrateful. You told him that you were insulted over the $3,000, even though you told him that he didn't want any money. He said, I'm sorry, I'll make it right. And he bought you a beautiful gift, a Rolex watch, which is at least worth $20,000. Uh go look them up. Brand new. They're very expensive watches, okay? And it is a token of his appreciation. And listen to what he says.

SPEAKER_04

Right? I don't know what it's that bought from. I don't know whatever. Send it to him. Like he he gave he's bought a card with it. I didn't even check it. I swear to God, it's still in my room. I don't want to even open it. Because I wasn't happy with it as well. I said, I don't need Rolex. I mean, Dennis, you know, uh, you've been in the Middle East. Uh I mean, I've won always world champion. Rolex watches, they always give it to us. Rolex watches they I have.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, excuse the fuck out of me. Oh, I'm sorry. Uh, you have plenty of Rolex watches. Your friend buys you a gift, and you go, Oh, I don't need another one. I don't uh you ungrateful bastard, really. I mean, just ungrateful. I don't need to get paid. The guy gives you money out of uh out of because he feels necessary to give you money, and then you're insulted with the amount. Then you tell him, and he buys you a beautiful gift, and you decide I don't want another Rolex watch. I have plenty of them. You know what? That's just ungrateful.

SPEAKER_04

I don't wear them, I don't like them. But anyway, that he said this is for um this is for uh what do you call it for the arm. And I spoke to him and I said, Yeah, I received the watch. What is it? He said, That's that's appreciation, whatever. So I thought maybe he's just fixing whatever. We finished the show, he sent me a message. He said, now we're gonna talk about whatever next prep. The Olympia prep is red, business is business, blah blah blah. I'm gonna give you five thousand dollars for a prep. It doesn't matter if like three weeks, five weeks, seven weeks, only five thousand for the Olympia, uh for the Arnold and the other Arnold.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so the so let me get this true. He gives you an envelope of three thousand dollars. You tell him off the bat that you don't want anything. He gives you an envelope of three grand. You say you're run you know you're you're unhappy with the three grand, he buys you a beautiful gift, and then he calls you and tells you, Okay, I need your help for the Olympia now coming up. I will give you five grand. And you're still like, no, sorry, no good. Why don't you fucking tell him how much money you want? Fucking tell him. Jesus Christ, is it that difficult? Hey, look, here's my rate, Andrew. This is what I expect to get paid. If I can't get paid this much, we're still friends, but we have to go our separate ways. You don't just shut up and expect somebody just to you know to pick the number out of thin air. That's ridiculous.

SPEAKER_04

I looked at the message, I sent it to Chris. I said, is this guy joking or what? I mean, I've went with him three, four weeks in England, just me and him leaving everything, all my I delayed opening my gym because of that. What the hell is he thinking? Will he go anywhere to open a seminar or whatever he's doing? Less than a five gram, at least five grams for like a day or two days? I don't think he will go. What do you think? He thinks I am cheap or what? So I said to him, do not send me, do not this. We will meet with Phoebe, we will talk about it. So Phoebe, I saw him two days, he was busy, he couldn't come, whatever. So he came when he came back, and I told him, Listen, whatever you sent me, I sent it to Chris. Chris is very, very happy with that, and he's very angry, and I'm not happy with it as well. I mean, if that is whatever you think in that way, I'm not happy. So he spoke to Chris. He said to him, okay, why are you angry? Why you haven't told me? He said, Well, because you haven't paid Kemal, and whatever you sent him is not right. So he said, How much do you want?

SPEAKER_00

He said to him, speak to him. Yeah, and tell him this face. Fucking communicate. How much do you want? Holy shit.

SPEAKER_04

Because without Kemal, never would have happened.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, okay. Let let's let's look. Okay. Let's hit the brakes a little bit here. I'm not taking anything away from Kamal. Kamal is a champion bodybuilder. He knows what he's doing. He is one of the elite 212 bodybuilders that ever lived. But you're not irreplaceable, dude. You're not irreplaceable. He needed a guy to go into the gym and push him till failure. That's what he needed. And that's what you did. It's not rocket science because at the beginning of this interview, if you go back and watch the beginning, which I skipped, he said Andrew knew how to work out. He just needed somebody to push him and push him till failure, and push him to the point of suffrage so that he could be better. Honestly, Andrew Jack could have actually there's plenty of people that would have done that for Andrew Jack. Everybody knows Andrew has a really good shot at winning the Olympia, has a really good shot at winning the Arnold. Everybody knows Andrew is the future. I'm not saying Kamal didn't help. He clearly helped. He clearly helped Andrew get those victories. But to say that it wouldn't happen without him, alright. Now we're we're we're now now we're in Lala Land.

SPEAKER_04

Because we've done this together, and Kamal is being with you, he's traveling with you, and he spent most of the time with you. And you're not being without him, it couldn't happen. And he said it himself on stage. He said it. So he called me and said, How much do you want? There you go. I said, Well, I know I'm not gonna be greedy, I'm not gonna be whatever. I want five percent from your winning money, the price, like the price winning, which is a Ron Maras, maybe 50 grand. Oh no, no, no.

SPEAKER_00

Why see? Here's the thing. Here's the problem. Now that he won the money, I want five percent of the prize money. You see, if he would have said to him at the beginning, I get five percent of your winnings, what if Andrew didn't win? What if Andrew came in sixth? What if Andrew came in fifth? What if Andrew didn't come in any money at all? Then what? The 3,000 would have been a fucking gift. But now that you know how much money he made, now you want 5%. It should have been established before you started working with Andrew Jack. Period, end of story. That is it. This is not a cultural difference. This is a communication. You said, I don't even, we don't even discuss money. You he gave you an envelope, you said I don't even want it. He tried to make it right by buying you a watch and then telling you, okay, I'm gonna pay you five grand. And then you were insulted after he offered you 5,000, after you told him that you don't need the money.

SPEAKER_04

I don't give this, I don't give that, this is whatever. I said, okay, calm down. If you don't want it, I don't need no money, I don't want any money. Thank you very much. And then um, we ended that. And it's like this person, they passed him on stage what you need with this money. He said he's gonna give it to charity. What kind of charity are you giving? You don't give the money to to the people they the people they held you, they got you to this place.

SPEAKER_02

So, like, you know, come on, let me chime in here. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I'm sure he didn't give a million dollars to charity. First of all, he's gotta pay taxes. That's number one. Secondly, it's his money. He could do whatever the fuck he wants with it. It's his money. He can wipe his ass with it if he wants to. Oh, Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_02

Isn't it but when when don't you think? Because I'm getting a flashback because I know trainers in the similar situation that train work is I don't want to say no name. But I know trainers that were in similar situations that don't ask. They don't ask because they they do it number one, because they want to help. Number two, maybe because you said you don't want money.

SPEAKER_00

Oh wow. Took a rocket science to fucking figure that out, huh? Holy shit. Hey Dennis James, how did you figure that out? Because he just told you he said I don't want money. Oh, I mean, if this is not the most ridiculous thing, I mean, bodybuilders are just in a world of their own, man. They really are. No place in the world do you do a job and don't discuss money beforehand. Not not one fucking trade, not one skill, no place.

SPEAKER_02

That, you know, for the person that that uses your service, in that at that moment, that person thinks he doesn't want money. He's doing this for free. Now, everybody has a different mentality. You know, some people's mentality is like, I'm gonna pay you. I can't do this uh uh without getting paid. I mean, I'm paying for my services, you know what I mean? And some people, you know, think, okay, because he doesn't want anything, let me give him a little bit, you know? So it could be a little bit, you know, I don't really know where is his mind.

SPEAKER_00

His mind is nowhere, his mind was fine. It's Kamal's mind. That's maybe maybe it's me. Maybe I'm a little fucked up. You told him I don't want any money, and he was like, Let me get him something. And then when you complained, he bought you a beautiful gift and you were insulted that he bought you a Rolex watch because you don't want to watch. And then when he actually gave you, when you spoke to him and said, How much are you gonna pay me? He he gave you a number and you were insulted over the number. But now that he he's won like over a million dollars, now you want 5%. Why didn't you establish the 5% before you guys even started? Listen, I'm gonna be with you every day. I'm gonna train you, I'm gonna push you to your limits. I'm gonna make sure you're the best you've ever looked on that stage, but I get 5% of your winnings. Why is that difficult? Why is that difficult? And if Andrew says no, I can't do that, then you go, okay, you know, you can work with somebody else then. Or maybe you negotiate a little bit. Okay. I I can't do you can't do 5%. What can you do? Because I do want to help you. Uh two and a half percent. Okay, two and a half percent. Whatever it is. Or Andrew goes, I I pay an initial fee up front. All these things have to be established. Because Andrew won. But what if Andrew didn't win? What if Andrew came in dead last? You'd be getting five percent of zero, of nothing, a big fucking donut.

SPEAKER_02

You know, he does want to give you something, even though you said you don't want nothing, you know.

SPEAKER_04

And um it's not it's not it's not I said I don't want nothing. I said yes, you're like, I don't need the money if you value me with that much. I don't need that much, I'm not that cheap.

SPEAKER_02

And that's why I think that cheap. I got you, I got you, and that's why I think in situations like this, with especially with bodybuilders nowadays, you need to be clear up front before everything starts.

SPEAKER_00

You need to put it It's not just bodybuilders, it's anybody who needs to make a living. If this is your skill set, you are a trainer, you take you train top pros, you train elite pros, you get paid to do it. Of course, you get paid to do it. This is how you make a living, so you establish how much you need to get paid beforehand. I mean, well, why is this fucking difficult? You said I don't want, I don't need any money. You get insulted when he gives you some money, then you get insulted when he buys you a gift, and then you get then you get insulted when he offers you more money. And now that he's won over a million dollars, now you want 5%, which is 50 grand, and he says, No, I can't give you 50 grand. But maybe if you would have established the 5% beforehand, he would have been obligated to give you the 50,000. And then you would have been, then you would have had a leg to stand on. Listen, we agreed to 5%, he won over a million dollars, he owes me 50,000, he didn't want to pay me. That I could understand. That is completely and totally rational. But to say, to tell the guy, I don't need any money, I'm just doing it to help you, and then you get insulted when he gives you something, come on. All right, this is just this is just this is ridiculous. I mean, I mean this is gossip that shouldn't even be gossip. This is ridiculous. Anytime I've ever done any fucking job, anytime, I say this is the down payment. I get I get 25% down of whatever the total cost of the job is. If you don't want to give me that, find another electrician. Find another whatever your skill set is. And you even told Chris, you know, I I gotta get paid. Okay, and then Chris said, well talk to him. It's not difficult. Go fucking talk to him and ask him how much and then you didn't talk to him. And now you and now you're mad. I swear to God, it this whole industry, this whole fucking industry is a fucking shit show. I swear it's on a how does that make any sense? So please, somebody explain it to me. How does it make any fucking sense? Don't give me the bullshit that it's a culture, it's not a culture difference. Okay, I don't care who you are and what what fucking corner of the earth you do a job, if you do a job and you expect to get paid, you establish payment beforehand. If you're helping somebody because he's your friend, whatever he gives you is gratitude. I'm just pissed off. It's fucking fucking Friday and I'm doing this. You know what? I'm out later.
