SPEAKER_02

Here we go. All right. Series is telling us bondability. We got a good show because we got Big Bad Aaron Clark, Chris Masaro, and my good friend and co-host Lee Priest.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna be drunk, so I'm just gonna sit here quiet. When you want me to answer a question, just say Lee.

SPEAKER_02

All right, you got it. That's the way it's gonna work.

SPEAKER_00

Sid, you shut up. You're really drunk. And and last night Sid was abusing all my sponsors drunk on the text messages.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. I had a vibe. I was talking to him at like midnight.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We were talking to you too.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oh, just speaking of what's I just say he was abusing my sponsor last night, Trump.

SPEAKER_02

Let's just jump into it, actually. Um, the first okay. So here's what we're gonna cover. We're gonna cover, we're gonna be covering a little bit of what Lee's been doing because he's in Indiana right now. Then we're gonna go to Nick Walker, and then we're gonna go to uh Toronto. He's got a new coach, doesn't he? Yeah, I know, for the 72nd time. So we're gonna go into that. But first thing we gotta do is check out our new sponsor. Look at this. This is Nutrafit, and the best part about Nutrafit is that they are coming out with a brand new line. It's actually already out. It is a br it is a brand new line for Lee Priest, and it is called Resurrection, and their first supplement is out, and it's called Crucifix, which is a pre-workout.

SPEAKER_00

And I had the greatest experience of watching John take three quarters of a scoop and look like a brach heading on the street inside the gym.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I took three quarters of a scoop. We went to the gym when I was in Nashville with uh Sid and Lee, and it was really strong. So if you guys out there, I recommend that you buy it. But if you're not like a caffeine person, half a scoop. Uh use code priest, you get 10% off. But it's actually really quality stuff, and also you know.

SPEAKER_00

I couldn't even understand what he was saying, but he was like, I gotta get I gotta get one of these.

SPEAKER_02

This is actually pretty cool. Uh it's an ice shaker.

SPEAKER_00

That's actually very damn cool. Yeah, and then we got that should only be a couple of weeks before the intra workout.

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna say the intro is gonna be the next one, right?

SPEAKER_00

About two weeks, the intro should be out, and it's called Holy Water.

SPEAKER_02

And it's uh, yeah, exactly. But they have great other great products.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_02

They really do. I've used this pre-workout. This pre-workout is excellent, too. It's uh not as it's not as strong, but it's not as innovative, they don't have as much ingredients um as the crucifix. The crucifix has a lot of um electrolytes, which helps you know keep the blood the body hydrated. So it's it's a it's a far better version of Kroba, but crowba is a moderate pre-workout. If you need just a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

I'll ask John what does he think of it? You know that gummy to teander feel gummy that's only smoke as people train on teander feel like five milligrams.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

I was thinking of bringing out my own. I'm gonna call it nailed. How's that?

SPEAKER_02

That's actually pretty good. I like it.

SPEAKER_00

You should just take like a blue tube before you go to the gym. That's the way to go.

SPEAKER_02

A blue tube. Yeah, so the uh the supplements are great. Code priest, go check it out, and we are gonna now.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm not responsible if you take too much and don't, yeah, don't, don't fifteen off. No, we went to 15% off Sid said, not 10, 15, oh I'm sorry, 15 off.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so 15 office.

SPEAKER_00

Sid said, get your shit right. He's getting paid.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I know. Really, that's actually a really good fucking bargain, actually. Uh Aaron, what is 15% off $50? Like uh bodybuilders, you're asking us.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I'm six rips.

SPEAKER_02

Whatever. It's fucking $42. I don't know. It's a good deal. Yeah, it's a good deal. All right. Uh okay, let's jump into it. So Nick is doing he's doing Tampa, right, Chris?

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Nick is doing Tampa. Now, here's my first question about Nick. Nick did the Arnold, and he looked absolutely amazing. And he was self-coached, but truth be told, Guy Cicenino was helping him a lot. Exactly. Why did he feel the need to move on to another coach? That I don't understand. He looked amazing. Like probably the best look he ever had.

SPEAKER_03

I talked to Nick about that. Okay. We we chat quite a bit and everything, especially now that I'm with morphogen and everything. Um and I was wondering too, because I was like, this is your best look ever, but it's more of a matter of just he doesn't want to think so much. Oh, well, okay, which is why everyone wants to use a coach, really.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, my response to that is my response to that is then just hire Guy Sistanino as your trainer. But but then unless Guy didn't want to do that, unless Guy doesn't want to train Nick. Because with Nick doing it and Guy watching him, he looked fucking incredible. Unless Guy doesn't want to be a full-time coach and just wanted to help Nick, I can understand that.

SPEAKER_00

But my we love we love Guy David. Remember, Guy was only helping a little bit. Guy full on. Maybe Nick doesn't want that. When guy's full on, you know what guy's like, he's full on.

SPEAKER_02

Also, a good point. Yes, personality clashes. Yes, good point.

SPEAKER_03

Everybody wants to work with their close friend.

SPEAKER_02

That yeah, all the all right, all this makes sense. What do you think, Aaron? Because this all makes sense now.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it's hard to say. I I share the sentiment of seeing his last showing and being like, huh, that's odd. And I also think it's odd to say, I don't want to think so much. Like, one of the best in the world. Like, it's it does it's not thinking that much, like you know what works already, right? You're not reinventing the wheel. Uh, I don't know. Uh, all the things that everyone has said though, they all could be viable reasons.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he he might have said, I don't want to think so much, but I think Lee might have kind of we're all should be like Paul Delette because 98 Paul Delette lived with me before the 9-8 Olympia. And I said to Paul one day, I said, Why do you have Chad helping you? You know what to do, you know this and that. And one day I was standing at the fridge and I'm like, Fuck, what am I gonna have for lunch? Should I have steak or chicken? Paul said, Son, because he called me something. He goes, Look on the fridge, he goes, See that? I don't have to do that. Chad tells me what to do because I'm fucking lazy. That's what Paul said. Same sort of thing. He goes, I don't want to have to think about what choice to have. Chad says, have this, and I have it.

SPEAKER_02

So you know you know what? Uh these all hit on good. I think Chris nailed it when he said a lot of times you don't want to have your good friend because it's kind of like going into business with your good friend, right? You don't want to argue and ruin the relationship. That might be it. Because I I don't I interviewed Guy once. I met him a bunch, uh uh, you know, three or four times. I don't know him that well, but from what I could see, if he were to coach you, he's probably the type of guy that it's his way or the highway. I don't see him being, you know, very strong personality. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So that might that might that might be.

SPEAKER_00

I think because they're close friends too with the gyms, and that because it always reminds me of when my daughter went to compete and I was helping her and I was telling her what to do, and she would argue with me. And I said, Well, fuck this, I'm gonna put you under my friend Steve. Steve pretty much told her the same thing, did the same thing. She listened to him, but fucking argued with me.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, what yeah, you know what? There's something about that. I think I think that is that is very true. Also, I think maybe look, I don't know. I'm we're just speculating. I can't get inside of Nick's mind. Um, look, if Nick looked like shit at the Arnold, I would say, yeah, you know, find a new coach, but he looked fucking amazing. It could be too, you don't want to, if you're paying this guy, you you know, you're gonna listen to him, you know. I'll tell you something.

SPEAKER_03

I'll tell you something about myself. So I've been working with Dom for almost 10 years now, you know. You know, I work with Dom Cardone, sure. But we were client coach first and became friends later. So kind of like there's always that separation, and now I built the trust of him as a coach, and he trusts me as a client. Then the friendship came later. But for me, I always over diet myself and over-train myself, do too much cardio, take away food too much, because I had never think I looked good. He's always there to like pump the brakes, right?

SPEAKER_02

Which is great. Yeah, you need a you definitely need a watchful eye, and that's that is uh a really big part of being a good coach. Um, Aaron, what did you ever go through anything like that when when you were competing, uh different coaches and their personalities and clashing or having friends help you? Anything like that happen to you?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, actually, when uh you know, when I was coming up, I didn't I didn't have any coaching, no coach. And I turned pro without a coach. Um, but I had a friend who I would if I had a question, I would reach out to him, right? Yeah, was he coaching me? No, but like I had people that like if I had a question, could reach out, but it wasn't their like we weren't following their protocol, right? And for me personally, and it could just be because I'm fucking stubborn, like I love to prep like that, right? I love to not have a and and I've worked with some people that I really like, of course. There's been different stages in my life where I didn't trust myself as much, and I really needed that second person, and there's been other times where I was like, no, I got it. Like, right, everybody's different. Um, you know, I I coach people, and yeah, I don't know. It's it I think there's so many different personalities in bodybuilding. Like you said, one guy's like, I'm too lazy, I need someone to tell me if I'm eating chicken or beef. And there's some people that don't want anybody to tell them anything, right?

SPEAKER_02

Right, right, right, right.

SPEAKER_01

So I you gotta figure out which one you are, and I think that you're gonna have to work with some people just to get a good basis of like, okay, what they told me worked, what they told me didn't work, and you pick and choose, you know, a little bit from everybody and make it your own. But I don't know, man. Like, yeah, I like I, you know, I coach myself, I worked with Factory McBark for a while. Um, and then I worked with a guy Johnny Casalena the last two times I competed when I came back.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Now Lee Lee is old school. Lee is basically you used to train yourself.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, never had a coach. That's why I'm not against coaches, but I just sometimes I think I have belief in athletes more than themselves because I'd even ask Ian Vallier. I'm like, you got your brother-in-law Chris Bumstead ready to win three Olympia classic titles. Why can't you get yourself ready? If you can get him ready, it's basically the same. I was even talking to a guy today at the Jimmy's like, my coach, this, my coach. He didn't say who was, he said he's a pro, like a newer pro. I said, okay, does your coach have a coach? He's like, Yeah, I said, so why don't you go to his coach? Because he coaches you, but he doesn't trust himself. So he goes to this guy. So why don't you go to the guy he goes to? And then I was like, people that I said, if you can coach other people and get them in shape, why can't you yourself in shape? To me, I've always believed you've got a good support team around you, someone to keep your head right those last few weeks when you start thinking, maybe if I do this or maybe if I do that, or we've all been it too when you're at your best, you look in the mirror and you're like, I look like shit. It's almost like an anorexic girl saying she's fat. No matter how good you look, you're like, maybe if I just do this a bit, I'll get better. Generally, you fuck it up. So if you just have a good support team around you to get your gym, train you, and keep your mind right, to me, that's what you really need. So I don't know. It's like I never really understood it sometimes.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, your generation never really had coaches yet. Yeah, yeah, Chad, Milos would help people deform with it.

SPEAKER_00

And also, too I think sometimes back then, like the least shows I did was four. Some show years I'd do 11. I think to me, sometimes the best way to learn is doing multiple shows. Look, I love Nick, but if you do one show and then you shut it down, and just say you're a little bit off, and you don't compete again for like 10 months and you do it again, then you're sort of taking a gamble again. It's like, okay, I was a little bit off there, I'll change this. If that little bit you change doesn't work and you fuck up again, then you've got to wait till the next show. Like I said, if when he did Arnold, a week later was Detroit, you could have made a little tweak there. A week later was the Arnold Classic in England. If you've got shows back to back, do them all and make those little changes to sort of work it out and get it right. And the only way you get it right is by doing multiple shows and making those little changes. And like I said, if you're going through hell for 16 weeks and the shows are that close a week apart, do them all.

SPEAKER_02

You know, there's there's there's definitely some truth behind what you're saying, because we see that with blessing every time we see that with Dory and Haywood. Every time these guys do a show, they look better. Yeah, yeah. The only thing I could think of is um exactly what Chris said. Like when you you're when it's very difficult when you're you're you're emotional and you're you're your mental mess and you and you're you're in low carbs to think for your own and be rational.

SPEAKER_00

I've always said like to be a bodybuilder physically, you gotta be strong. But the strongest thing you're ever gonna have in this sports up here, if you're not strong up here, forget about being a bodybuilder and competing because that's the strongest thing you're ever gonna need in this sport.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but what I was trying to get at was when you're dieting yourself and you're getting ready for a contest, a lot of the guys tend to like panic. Their emotions are involved, they tend to like, oh, I'm just gonna do more cardio, I'm gonna do no carbohydrates, I'm gonna do no, and then like like Chris said, he has a uh Dom is the one there to pump the brakes because his emotions are gone, he's reasonable, he's looking at you. So I think that's why a lot of these guys have coaches because and then Chris.

SPEAKER_03

I was gonna say, as a coach myself, when I'm looking at my clients, most of my clients are all over the country or other countries, whatever. I just get those pictures, so I'm very objective and I'll say send pictures then. I'll ask some pictures in the gym when they're pumped, right? And it's different. So I got a question for Aaron actually, because I know that you coach too. Do you, if you're prepping yourself, do you take pictures and look at the pictures in the same spot? Because for me, when I was prepping myself, I took pictures. Then I see myself in the gym, different lighting. I'm like, ah, I can I can pull, I could go a little harder, I could go a little harder. And I would also thrive in the hard work of like, I don't know, I'm maybe I'm crazy, but I enjoyed pushing myself on the stairmaster. I enjoyed, I like kind of feeling like I'm starving a little bit. I don't know. I'm I'm a little nuts like that. But did you take pictures of yourself and actually write your plan down, or just like how'd you do it yourself?

SPEAKER_01

Well, when I was really coaching myself, I think that I I was I was not coaching myself in a way. Like I I what I know so much more now than I knew back then. And I think it was just day by day, and and you look in the mirror and you'd be like, Well, I'm not quite there yet. Let's change this, or let's like I was 23, right? When I turned pro and I I I'm not gonna act like I really knew what I was doing, I knew enough to like piece it together. Um and I always, you know, I went into prep pretty lean. So like, and yeah, I took photos, but uh yeah, like would I do it the same way again? No, but I would not, and I I wouldn't encourage someone else to do it that way, but I was broke and I spent all my money to get to the show, and uh it worked, right?

SPEAKER_03

It so I think sometimes less is more, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we find that too. And I found when I was doing mine first in the very beginning, too. The more basic I kept it and didn't overthink it, sometimes the better you looked. I think guys now are trying to overcomplicate it. Where if you really get back to the basics of dieting and training and doing what you need to do, and like I said, just keeping it basic when it comes to the diet and the cardio and training, you it's a lot easier, even to gear. But now people are trying to look for different things or this secret that they think maybe this coach knows or that coach knows. And if you start making it complicated, that's when you start playing the fucking head games. You know, it's just because I remember even when two weeks before one show, like I was doing it myself and I was thinking I look good. I was at the Gulf World Gym in the morning, six. Like, Lee, we need to take your shirt off just to film this. I'm like, yeah, I'm looking good. As soon as I took my shirt off, I went, fuck, I'm not gonna do the show, I look like shit. So for now, when they're filming me, I'm so pissed off doing shows. I'm like, fuck, just hopefully film it. I thought I look like dog shit. Now when I see the video pop up, I'm like, fuck, I look good. But that day when it happened, I was ready to pull out of the show and I'm like, fuck this, I'm not competing. I look like crap. And even backstage, how many times have we been backstage? And as good as you look, no matter who I look at, I'm like, fuck, he's peddling me, he's beddling me. And whoever's with me, like, are you on crack? You're betting him. I'm like, oh fuck. Look at his arms, you're like, have you seen your arms? I'm like, Yeah, yeah, but his arms look better. Like, uh, shut up and just get out there.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's amazing that you know, Lee Priest, one of the greatest ever, goes to the same thing every fucking NPC bodybuilder. Everybody does, everybody does.

SPEAKER_03

The other worst thing they have the worst thing they have backstage is those skinny vertical mirrors and flu lights, and fluoro lights that just sort of wash you out.

SPEAKER_00

You're like, what happened?

SPEAKER_02

The other question I have about Nick Walker is who is this guy? Who is this uh trainer? Do you guys uh ever hear of him? Because I never heard of him until now.

SPEAKER_00

And how did this relationship get to I went I went to the terrorist watch list to see if there was rewarded when I saw a photo?

SPEAKER_02

Seriously, I don't know. Yeah, I have no idea. That's another like I like I don't know. I'm sure Nick knows what he's doing. I I think he's one of the best in the world. I'm sure he knows what he's doing. But these are just questions that you know I wanted to answer.

SPEAKER_00

Like what is his coach? Is this his fourth or fifth?

SPEAKER_02

His coach is his. Yeah, he switches coaches a lot. His his name is Prob Del Daliwal.

SPEAKER_00

Um that means he'll probably get him in shape and probably.

SPEAKER_02

And yeah, why wouldn't you go with a SETO, a Farah, a Chad Nichols, a guy who's been around for 30, 35 years and has coached everybody? That that would be my go-to. I would say, look, I'm one of the best in the world, and he's one of the best coaches in the world. He kind of picks because there was that one kid from Jersey he used. Remember, I don't remember his name. Kyle was that yes, Kyle. Yes, that's right. His name was Kyle.

SPEAKER_00

Was that a short one?

SPEAKER_02

No, yeah, it was a short, a short stint, too. I don't know why you wouldn't go to especially Asido's track record. You see what fucking Eric Wood looked like? Holy shit, he came out of nowhere. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Uh uh, Chris, you're pretty funny. You need that scene that like I think even Chris said, you need to sort of, even if you're a coach, you've got to sort of get along with him. And I think maybe just when you get with someone as a coach, you might learn later on your personalities don't mix, you get a weird feeling. So you've got to be comfortable with that person because that person becomes a coach, a counselor, pretty much many things.

SPEAKER_02

So that might have been again, we're all just speculating. We don't know. I don't that might have been why him and Guy maybe they butted heads, maybe Nick's just as headstrong. They're both strong personalities, so yeah. Go ahead, Aaron. What were you gonna say?

SPEAKER_01

I was just gonna take another, you know, possible hypothesis, right? Like, for all we know, Nick might be coaching himself, kinda, and like there's even the possibility that this guy was like, hey, let me be your coach, right?

SPEAKER_00

Because if you need give me a call, swap IDs type thing.

SPEAKER_01

Well, not even that, it's like it looks good, right? Like, I I wouldn't be surprised. I'm not obviously I'm not saying this, right? Like that this is what it is. I'm just saying that in this world, these are all just possibilities, yeah. Whatever I say, I'm drunk, so that's why um I I wouldn't be surprised somebody who's high level like that, like someone would be like, hey, let me uh maybe even pay you to to be your coach, right? So then because you know the amount of clients that person's gonna get from that, right? It could be, and I just hope I hope he's not a yes man. Well, I don't know, because Nick already has it kind of figured out, right? Right, yeah. I'm not saying that's the case, but I'm saying that I think it happens, right? Yeah, but because look at it, and again, it's not anything against any of these people. I'm just saying, like, look at what happened with uh drawing a blank. Um I do it all, I do it all the time.

SPEAKER_00

Throw a show out there a year, and if worse comes to worse, I'll see Nick's got that new Tinder X profile. Jansen, right?

SPEAKER_01

Jansen with uh God, Dallas, right? Dallas, and then all of a sudden he was huge, right? So it's like people want to jump on somebody's name and rind it up, and then yeah, you never know. You never know.

SPEAKER_02

We're never gonna know until Link me, unless some sometimes I get people that message me on Instagram and they kind of have the inside scoop. But on this case, I have no idea. I I don't know. For all we know, this guy could be really good, and this could turn out to be a great fucking relationship.

SPEAKER_00

We'll find out, yeah. But Nick's looking Nick's looking really good now. So the guy doesn't have to tweak too much, you know, because Nick's putting in pretty good shape now. So my grandmother could give him chicken breasts and ross and a bit of trend and get him in shape.

SPEAKER_02

No, you know what? You're fucking right. The words of Kim Kam uh King Kamali, I'll never forget this. Um, this is when Phil Heath was Mr. Olympia. He was on RX Muscle. I was watching it, and I remember um the question to King Kamale was can you do you think Phil anybody could beat Phil at the Olympia? And it was when Phil was at his height, and King just went, No. And he goes, A blind albino snake could coach Phil Heath and he would win the Olympia. But the other um the other question, which is actually exciting, and I uh we tried getting him on the show. Me and Chris both messaged him, but I didn't think he was gonna come on because he's in the middle of the prep, and I fully understand. Uh the the showdown between Joe Palacios and Nick, that's gonna be interesting because they have similar physiques.

SPEAKER_00

And Joe's improved a lot over the last six months.

SPEAKER_02

Joe is not playing.

SPEAKER_03

Joe's one of the biggest human beings I've ever seen. Like he looks like he's wearing freaking football pads. It does it doesn't make sense. And he doesn't fly first class. I asked him, I don't know how the hell he does he fits on regular seats. Yeah, I'm like, what do you mean?

SPEAKER_02

How I don't understand how he does huge, he's a foot wider than me. Jesus Christ. Yeah, I know he is a big, but he got over 300 pounds this this offseason, and um, yeah, he has these huge amazing delts, and he has arms, chest, everything. His structure might be a little better than Nick's. Um, it's just Nick's cleaning hard massive.

SPEAKER_00

I think because maybe Nick's competing more. Nick probably has that little bit more polish, but we're judging on Joe's last show. We haven't seen how Joe's gonna look now with the added size, so it could be close. If Nick, if Nick fucks up, Joe's gonna be right there. So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So Aaron, what do you think? What do you think about that showdown? Because that's that I'm looking forward to it, man.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's it's hard to say because you're like like you just said, you're going off of him last year, right? I mean, how much is Nick gonna change? Probably not that much, right? If anything, I would imagine that it will be either the same or you miss the mark, right? Okay, probably, maybe even better, but right. I feel like he was nailed at the Arnold. Oh, right, yeah. I thought he was like Arnold. I think that's the Nick you're gonna see, or slightly less. That's probably right, right. That's a hard, hard uh so and and the show. You don't know, like he he's probably better than the last time you saw him.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because he's a young man and he's only getting better. And he he really kind of shocked the world. No, he nobody had him on the radar last year. Nobody had him on the radar.

SPEAKER_00

Normally when Nick's in a show, it's someone like Nick, and then somebody else, like, there's no one comparable, but Joe and him are pretty comparable on freaky side and that freaky type look. So it's gonna be interesting.

SPEAKER_02

Chris, you were competing with him last year, right? I wouldn't say it was really competitive, but yeah, I was there with him. No, yeah, I forgot about that. You guys did what Tampa together, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah. So backstage, he you so now when he was backstage, and before the show, nobody had him on on his radar. Nobody had him on their radar. What was the the talk backstage when the guys actually saw him?

SPEAKER_03

Because I would have to think that it's like I was the new guy, nobody nobody was really talking to me about anybody else, but you know, between me and Dom, like I saw Joe right away and I was like, What the fuck? And I was like, totally crazy, but not to mention, like Joe was really helpful for me because he he was like one year after his rookie season, so he's kind of walking me through my pro debut a little bit backstage, give me some little pointers and shakes. I was I was obviously nervous, yeah, you know. So uh, but you know, seeing him a foot away from me, I was like, bro, what the hell? And he's only like my height. I I'm five'eight, he's the same, and he was over 300 pounds this year. And I saw him again at the Arnold this year, and I was like, dude, what did you do? Like it's it's he was big then, now he's even way bigger.

SPEAKER_02

Uh and he he seems to be, he's been on the show twice, seems to be, he's always goofing with us and laughing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, nice right down the house.

SPEAKER_02

Really, you know, there were some guys that come on the show and they're kind of uh afraid to come out with Lee Priest, right?

SPEAKER_00

Hey, hey, what's that mean?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm not gonna mention names, but there are a couple of guys that are like, nah, I'll pass. And and Joe didn't give a shit. He's like, Yeah, let's go on, let's have a good time. It was it was actually pretty he was pretty good, he was pretty cool. I gotta say, he was breaking balls and joking and uh and laughing at the jokes, and he seems to be very down to earth, a very likable guy, man.

SPEAKER_03

So I hope we need more guys like that in bodybuilding. We'll shoot the shit and can't take themselves too seriously.

SPEAKER_02

And what's funny is that the the deep I have the podcast, so I I I'm I'm I'm not heavily plugged in, but I'm plugged in enough to the world, to that world. And the more you learn about these guys, a lot of them are really like feel like they're stepping on like a landmine and something's gonna explode. And they very much take uh uh uh careful steps to who they associate with, who they don't again. I'm not gonna mention any names with me, Lee, and Sid were talking about it over the weekend, but there are guys that like avoid any controversy, they avoid it because they really feel like it's gonna impact their career, and then some guys just don't give a shit. They're like, You're cool with me, I'm cool with you. Let's do it. And Joe's one of those guys.

SPEAKER_03

It is what it is, but everyone thinks their movies are nowadays.

SPEAKER_02

You know, I think so too. I I and I don't think you know, I don't think I don't think it's as pol I mean, it's still political, don't get me wrong, but I don't think it's as political. I I don't think if you're friends with somebody that somebody in the IFB doesn't like, they're gonna mark you down. You know what I mean? I I mean maybe I'm wrong, I might be naive, but I haven't seen it firsthand, you know? Now yeah, you think so? Shadley. Chime in.

SPEAKER_00

There's still a little bit there, but you know, not as bad as it was back in when I was competing, but it's still there because you even see it now when look how much even you could they say it's not political, but what was the talk when Rami didn't go and guest pose at Jim's show? That's gonna affect his placings, it's gonna do this. I'm like, well, why would it? If Rami shows up in shape, why would him not turning up the next guest posing for Manion affect his placings at all? And he didn't show up, and then his placings might have got affected a little bit. So good point. And you go back to the times too when people say it's not political, but then on my documentary when they asked Melvin Anthony, Dennis James, Paul Dillett, Jay Cutler, Flex Lewis, if Lee had kept his mouth shut, would he place better of them? Said, yeah, if Lee had just kept his mouth shut and placed the played the game, he would have done better. I'm like, but well, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, look, we've uh we've uh me and Aaron when I had a one-on-one interview with Aaron, we talked about it, and he he agreed that there are some politics, but still there, but it's not near like back in the that back in Lee's day, it was in your face, and like there was nothing you could do about it.

SPEAKER_00

I know, and that actually put it in your face too, and go, like, what are you gonna do about it? Where are you gonna compete?

SPEAKER_02

You know, yeah, good Aaron. What were we gonna say?

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's inevitable, right? It's judged. Like there will always be politics, even if the even if the people judging aren't aware of it, like there's always biases. Um, but I also think that now the whole world surrounding it is different, right? There's so much more visibility in social media, and I think because we talked about it before, because these media publications don't really control it as much. I think that it has changed. So does that mean there's less politics? Not necessarily, but I feel like maybe, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think I think now though, like there's so many other ways to make money though. Now that you have social media, I mean, how many coaches are there? Like, I'm a coach, Aaron's a coach, like there's so many out there. We don't you don't need to compete to make money anymore. If anything, these freaking influencers make more money than competitors.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, dude. And being being a hundred. Don't get me, don't get me started on these shitty influences. Most of them suck to begin with.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know, back in the day, too, when it came to things, people always thought that Joe had the input. And like I had like many meetings with Joe Weeder and lunches with Joe, and Joe really loved the sport, and it was pretty much I for being Wayne because that one time when I should have done my first Olympia, I think when I was like 23, but I already did three shows, and there was a Houston show coming up, and I qualified for Olympia, and I said to Joe, look, I'm gonna be the one one of the youngest ever because I was under contract with Joe. I'll be one of the youngest ever to do the Olympia. I've already done three shows. Can I sit out to Houston show and just do the Olympia? Joe's like, that'd be a great idea, Lee. Don't do it. So I didn't do the Houston show. Wayne says, Where were you, Lee? I said, Joe said I didn't have to do the show. And Wayne's like, I run these fucking shows, not Joe Weedy. You're suspended for a year, so I didn't get to do the Olympia. I didn't get to do the Olympia. Then the following year, I think when I got suspended again, the suspension went to a month after the Olympia. So you either take the 12 months or pay the fine. So I'm like, fuck, I really want to do it. So I had to pay the five thousand dollar fine to do the Olympia. And then and then I think I got like one four thousand.

SPEAKER_02

So I just I just feel like it was so much more if you were a hardcore bodybuilding fan in the early 2000s, before social media, in the 90s, even into the 80s, there were so many calls on high-profile fucking shows, and you go, What? Like, I mean, if you're Arnold in 1980, Franco in 1981, uh, I mean, you go down the list.

SPEAKER_00

I mean the Olympia '97, I recognized the Dorian and NASA, Jay Cutler and Victor Martinez.

SPEAKER_02

Um today, it's you know, today it's a little bit different.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it's based I the last few Olympias, basically, the last 10 or so, give it take. I mean, in my opinion, they really picked the right guys. Like, if one guy was slipping, you lost.

SPEAKER_03

You know what I think is great that that Tyler does now? He goes on social media and he breaks down the comparison and says why this person, like in Pittsburgh last year, when Nick lost to uh Derek, Tyler had him in first. So he he openly said that, but yet the other judges put Derek in first place.

SPEAKER_00

So I think that's pretty pretty cool. I was enjoying that, like the commentary from Tyler until he said that Derek won the double bicep at the Olympia when that was his worst shot. I'm like, Hardy and Andrew's double bicep was the Olympia. Yeah, I know. I know.

SPEAKER_02

Andrew's double bicep is like retarded. It's it's retarded.

SPEAKER_00

But I was I was agreeing with Tyler up until that one. It's like that position lost me on. If you want to say the real double buy, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I'll say this. What about how Nick won the most muscular award but lost the most muscular shot? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, and that was like that's cool. This year's Olympia.

SPEAKER_02

This year this year's Arnold, right? Yeah, that was fantastic. That was just it's some of it just blows me away.

SPEAKER_00

And then back in the old days, too, when they would judge posing, Dorian would come out, just hit those boom, boom, main shots on the thing. Then you have the beautiful Bob Paris Lee Labrata. Dorian wins the posing around Labrada's like eighth in the posing. You're like, how'd that happen? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, all right, let's move on to uh this weekend's Toronto because uh the show is kind of stacked with bodybuilders that are are not top tier but are making some serious noise. And the two guys that I mentioned, Blessing and Dorian, every time they do a show, they're looking better and better. Now, in my opinion, I think it is um what's his name's show to lose.

SPEAKER_00

Is that doing it? Seth's doing it, isn't he?

SPEAKER_02

Um, it is. I sent you guys the fucking the list. It is what's his name? I can't believe I can't think of his name. I'm fucking Lionel Benecky. Quentin O'Reilly. Yeah, Lionel Becky. It's Quentin O'Reilly's show to lose. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So if he comes in, that's a guy, like I said, he he it's almost like one of those like Patrick Moore who frustrates me. It's like if you're on, you could like do so well. But if you're a little bit off, and they're like that guy too. Quentin, if he's a little bit off, he looks a lot off. Where back in the day you could get a core mirror flex that was a little bit off, and they could still win shows, but yeah, they're all bodybuilders like that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, they're all Nick is like that. If Nick is fucking 95, he could still win a show, right? Um I think I think Quentin's looking really good, and also that Eric Wood Eric Wood came out of nowhere, dude, and he looked phenomenal. Uh, let me show you something too.

SPEAKER_00

He is with a CDO, isn't he? Is Eric Wood with a C with a Sedo?

SPEAKER_02

Let me show you something too. And this is what I mean by um, this is what I mean by every show he gets a little better and better. Uh let's see. Uh Instagram.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that means Quinton's Quinton's brought his legs up a little bit too, I think.

SPEAKER_02

Uh look at this shot that Dorian put up, and I'm like, it looks he really looks fucking good in this shot. And this is his gonna be his fourth or fifth show or fourth show, and every show he's getting better and better. He's getting rounder, he's getting harder, his back shots are getting better, his legs are getting more separated.

SPEAKER_00

Um the best way to learn by doing multiple shows. You learn to tweak those little things and keep coming a little bit better.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and then you have, you know.

SPEAKER_00

I just saw Michael Hane. What's he doing there?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, right. And then you have Blessing, who let's see if he hit put up a uh uh a recent shot. Is this uh is this this was three days ago?

SPEAKER_00

So I mean Blessing is a little bit his legs are a little undersized, but it's trying to try to clickovers, see see other, see the other shots. All right, that that double bicep there of blessing reminds me of back in the day. If you recall Brian Buchanan, that guy had big arms, massive back, tiny waist, but his legs always let him down. But yeah, massive upper body, and like his waist was like 27 inches. It was like incredible.

SPEAKER_02

But blessing blessing can well blessing on the New York Pro, uh, I think what two or three years ago, and he his legs weren't obviously big, but they were separated, and it gave him the illusion of being uh or being real quality legs. And um, he was with Farah. I would love to know why him and Farah are not together anymore because he looked amazing at that show when he was with Farah. Again, you don't know, it could be a money thing, it could be a personality thing, and it sucks because blessings upper body is amazing. His back is fucking retarded, his back is Mr. Olympia back, and his legs are just a little undersized. But every time he comes in, he's coming in a little harder, a little bit more crisp, and he's moving up in the in the uh in his placings.

SPEAKER_00

So we could see a really good blessing at this show, and another one with a great personality and that has fun and boys.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, exactly. He's funny, he's not you know a stick in the mud, right? And then we got uh let's see, I'm going through the big names right now. The big names. Eric Wood. This guy looks like he's gonna have some kind of fucking career, man. This guy looked amazing. I mean, he really, he really did. He looked his his balance, his symmetry, he came in really hard. Um, this was him at I forgot the Legion. Yeah, he came in second at this show to Tonio, right? Nobody was expecting that. Now, don't get me wrong. Uh, you know, he's doing the Legion, he's doing a Toronto. Obviously, if he got into an Arnold or a Lyman, I think he could pose his body better too.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely. I think if he had if he got a uh maybe a different posing coach or something, just to try some other angles out. I think he can hide some of the spaces that are.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, exactly. It's just his transition right there. Did you guys see that transit? There was no doubt.

SPEAKER_00

Also, I think like Quinton with his beautiful shape and Quinton poses well. If Quentin's on, I think that's where he's gonna that's where you gotta notice a big difference between those two.

SPEAKER_02

Well, watch his transition. He yeah, like a good bodybuilder knows that eyes are on him all the time, and even the transition has to be you know a good transition because still looking at you, and his transition was basically I'm just gonna turn around, right? So, yeah, Chris definitely hit the head nail on the head that he could work on as posing 100. Like right here, he just kind of like I remember turning around now.

SPEAKER_00

I remember Chris I did that from one show the other yeah, kept looking at himself while he's posing, and you noticed a big difference when he came back to that show and beat beat um Antonio, yeah. Antonio, it's like he's posing just that little bit of improvements made a big difference.

SPEAKER_02

So uh now Quentin. Uh let's see. Quentin has a beautiful physique.

SPEAKER_03

This is a couple last year, too.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Quentin has a beautiful phone.

SPEAKER_03

He definitely snuck out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, there's no question about it. Quentin to me, and Aaron, I want your your opinion on this. When he turns around, when he used to do when he did the rear double bicep last year, and I'm hoping it's improved. I know it's difficult to improve that shot, but I'm hoping it's improved. When he did the rear double bicep, that was like that shot was his worst shot. It it was like it was almost like his back disappeared. I don't know if it's a posing thing or if it's just he's underdeveloped, but he's some guy I don't know. Oh, good, good Aaron. Aaron first, then we'll go to Chris.

SPEAKER_01

Um I was just saying Quentin to me is one of those guys that has all the shape in the world. And it's like he's just he's just off, he's just a little off, you know? Yeah, it's like oh, right, because he's one of the best shapes in bodybuilding. Yeah, yeah. Big, full, round, and you know, you do we come on his back, but like his lats aren't small. Look at no right, and whether that's how he's hitting the shot, or if it's a conditioning, like does he just need to come down another 15 pounds for his back to be like all you know shredded up? I I don't know, but he always just seems like you know, like we look at these and we're like, holy shit. But then on stage, you're like, damn.

SPEAKER_02

Or does he just have a it? Does he have the Akeem Williams problem where he has a high lattice?

SPEAKER_00

He's my new, he's my new Lionel Beneck.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, he's no Lionel, nobody Lionel Benecky would like, oh, right there, boom.

SPEAKER_00

See how it's just kind of lost. But it's like when you see when you see the potential there, and you're just like, if he can just do this little bit, you could be frustrating when they're gonna know where they could be.

SPEAKER_02

It's like it's sucks being a hardcore bodybuilding fan because it's like, oh god, and and it's not like the probably it's not like he's not trying.

SPEAKER_00

Everybody knows it's not like they're not giving it a hundred percent.

SPEAKER_01

But you know, it's like he's hitting the his lats when he's hitting it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and that and to me, I remember I remember watching the show last year, and I remember commenting on it, and like his rear double bicep fucking killed me because every other shot was lights out, and then he turned around and did that shot, and it was like, and then you know, not for nothing, but then he had to stand next to Joe. I forgot what show it was, I don't remember what show he was, and Joe's rear double by was fucking insane, you know. And I'm like, Joe's back's crazy, yeah. And that's uh so I'm hoping that on stage, you know, this is also six days ago, so he's he's got a little bit of time to pull some water and stuff.

SPEAKER_03

I'm hoping that sometimes I think sometimes that could be the issue. A lot of guys when they pull too much water or their food's not correct, they they lose that thickness in the back, it just gets flattened out. I've seen it a thousand times where they'll look great like two weeks out, and then all of a sudden, like the week of that back just doesn't fill out. And some of these guys, to be honest, and it's it's a lot of these black guys need more food to fill out. Like I'm listening to uh Samson talk about he needed more than a week to fill out. It it's not like when you're 180 pounds, you need three days, right?

SPEAKER_02

Good point. Yeah, when you're 300 pounds, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you need a lot more time. Uh the rapper at the gas station, right?

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so this was Tampa last year. Let's see if he if he turns around.

SPEAKER_00

It must have been the size. It says the luck, not the fuck. Oh, wait, wait, wait. Let's go back. Let's go back.

SPEAKER_02

Let's see if he if he turns around because that's when I'm like from the front, his lats look amazing. Um, and it's not really his lat, it's his rear double buy. It just disappears. I'm hoping that it's much better than it's like.

SPEAKER_00

It looks like it lost a bit of size doing that barbell call.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, right. That might have been an old dun dun dungeon. Doesn't look like he's putting anything up there from the from the from the back. All right, whatever. It is what it is.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I believe it's Saturday, right?

SPEAKER_02

I think. Um, who else we got? Uh there are any other you guys, Aaron, you know many other guys' dog horses that we're overlooking right now?

SPEAKER_01

Let's see. I was just looking at it.

SPEAKER_02

Let's see. Oh, Wellington Baptista. He's actually pretty good.

SPEAKER_03

I saw a picture of that Christopher Miller guy. He's pretty big guys.

SPEAKER_01

Batista?

SPEAKER_02

Batista, yeah, let's see. I can't see him. Yeah. Wally Wally turned. Yeah, fuck it. I'll just go.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe you said something bad about him and he blocked you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't blame you. Probably.

SPEAKER_03

Who's the other guy that you guys said? I just said I saw one picture of that Christopher Miller guy. He looks like a big person. Christopher Miller. I don't know if he looks tall or something. Maybe he's newer. Just came on my feed though.

SPEAKER_02

There we go. Oh god.

SPEAKER_00

I think I've seen him. He's tall, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's just tall, but on stage is it's not gonna train no, it's not gonna translate well on stage. Yeah, he's kind of got that big, good guy. Yeah, he kinda has that kind of like he has that kind of like that if this makes any sense.

SPEAKER_00

Isn't it so funny though? Like taking a picture of the top, he almost looked classic there for a minute.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no. He had he has this like real anabolic look to him, if that makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

So it was a like freaking game, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it looks like he has a roid body.

SPEAKER_00

It looks like is he going for a CDL drone?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, this guy's gotta go drive a bus after the show. This is not this is not gonna he's not gonna do well. Uh who else do we have? Aaron, have you noticed anybody else or no?

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, I think you hit the big names. I mean, should I hope? Yeah, I hit the big name.

SPEAKER_00

Did I have a 212 at Toronto or just open?

SPEAKER_02

No, and I don't know. Let's look at this guy from South Korea. That always that always is pretty good.

SPEAKER_00

7M are pretty good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Kang Men Kang Leaf? Kim.

SPEAKER_03

I think he's looking at I thought you were talking about Kung Mu Park.

SPEAKER_02

This has got to be him. Yeah, no. Alright, never mind.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, give me a picture of him.

SPEAKER_01

I like that picture with the cigarette and the wrap in his hands. Fuck shit up.

SPEAKER_00

There was that one Korean guy that was really good. I can't remember.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, there was a couple of Asian dudes that um that showed.

SPEAKER_03

What about the other Korean guy? Uh Quenwood Park.

SPEAKER_02

Let's see. Is another Korean guy in the show?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Let's see. It's like Kyun Wu Park. Oh, Jesus.

SPEAKER_02

They really need nicknames. How come how come Big Rami is small enough to have a nickname? Oh, this guy's Chinese. Is that the guy you're talking about? No, it's just South Korea. Alright, so Kang Min Kim, and then the other guy, where am I looking at? Oh, there he is. Oh god, this is not gonna be pretty. Come on, John. Yeah, Hune Wood. You spelled it wrong. I did. K-E-U. Can you blame me? Jesus. Let's call him Bob.

SPEAKER_03

There's no D.

SPEAKER_00

Just woo.

SPEAKER_02

Woo. Yeah, like if John Woo. I don't know. I don't see him on here. Good spelling of D. K-E-U and double. Oh, there's no D. There we go. Oh, there we go. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Looks aesthetic. Is he normally open or a 212?

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna say, I don't know. He's in the open, so.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but normally he's uh always open or a 212.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, is this is this his first pro show?

SPEAKER_03

Could be.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, maybe.

SPEAKER_03

A lot of guys go to Toronto for their debut.

SPEAKER_02

What's the pro show? Yeah, it looks like it's his first pro show. Is this pro card 2026?

SPEAKER_03

Kingwood Park.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, me all gonna do that. Don't pull your glasses out. Don't pull your glasses out and act like his coach. You guys ever see Aaron? Do you ever see my glasses when I have an Asian?

SPEAKER_00

Let's interview his coach. How's your client getting ready for the Orympia?

SPEAKER_02

We cut out all cat and dog meat.

SPEAKER_00

What about fried rye?

SPEAKER_02

What are you doing? All chicken, uh chicken and fish now. No more cat more dog meat.

SPEAKER_00

He's blocking now, he won't be looking at you.

SPEAKER_02

Uh shit. You guys are fucked up. You guys are bad influences, man. I'll tell you. Holy shit. Uh and what what shows after after this? They're like they're all in Spain after this, right?

SPEAKER_00

I think Spain. Yeah, Italy. Something's a week later, isn't it? Italy after Italy. Italy's coming up. After is that the Rimini one or is the Rimini being on?

SPEAKER_02

After I'm pretty sure Jordan watched it. Spain and then Italy. So next, uh yeah, we got the Emperor Classic, and then we have Italy. And uh that's about it.

SPEAKER_00

Isn't that one like nearly every week?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and a lot of them are in a lot of them in Europe. So a lot of the European bodybuilders now have a chance to to qualify. And um, I want to see that Russian dude, that big ass fucking Russian dude. Well, I just want to see some good bodybuilder.

SPEAKER_00

Uh bodybuilder. I want to see some good bodybuilder do every show, yeah, and just block everybody out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Just have fucking yeah, like Andrew Jack do every show and just block everybody.

SPEAKER_00

Just block everybody.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and then just do the Olympia. There's like only three people.

SPEAKER_00

Well, who's that girl that's won so many shows? It's and there's some girl that's competing again and she's won so many shows, and all the other girls get pissed because really she's like winning all the time. It's like, well, if you're good enough, beat her. If you can't beat her, then what are you complaining about?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, do it two or three winning two or three shows is one thing, but if you win like seven in a row, yeah, you kind of have to take a seat. I mean, yeah, give me a I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I'll just be an asshole.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you say that, but she's making money. Yeah, it's just um, yeah. Aaron, do you ever see that guy, Sergei? Uh that Russian bodybuilder, he won. He already qualified for the Olympia.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yes, he's like 350, or he was like, 350.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's insane. Let me see if I can find him. I don't know how to spell his name. Yes, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's see if I can find him.

SPEAKER_00

But his is it like the Russian version of Da Faido and his trick.

SPEAKER_02

I can't, I don't know how to spell his name. I think it's E I. E I?

SPEAKER_03

No, S E R G E I.

SPEAKER_02

S. E. R. G E I. S. E. R. G E I. God damn it. S-E-R-G-E-I.

SPEAKER_00

Use your still got that gammy in your system, John.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, tell me about it. I know. Uh, here he is.

SPEAKER_00

Shouldn't take drugs off your friends, John.

unknown

Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_02

You guys hear you guys heard that story?

SPEAKER_00

Don't blame me.

SPEAKER_02

Look at the size of this freak of nature.

SPEAKER_01

He's the guy that through those clips going around where he was talking about uh making a hundred units.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he did. Yeah, he did it for a while, like a week or so. Then he bummed up to a hundred IUs of growth to see what would happen.

SPEAKER_02

Jesus Christ, are you serious?

SPEAKER_00

It was for like a short period, though. Yeah, it was only like a week or two. If he just wanted to see a whole item for one week.

SPEAKER_02

This guy is just a massive human, he's still pretty hard. Yeah, he is. He's still fucking you know pretty shredded for 350 or whatever he is. These guys are freaks of nature, it's unbelievable. Yeah, I don't know, man.

SPEAKER_00

A lot of those Europeans we don't hear about it. Because when I did NABA, a lot of NABA people are in like Europe and that. There's some freaks that you never hear of because you don't hear the IPB. But if you go over there, when I went to Russia for two weeks and saw some people, there's a lot of freaks in the gym that you never fucking hear about.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, all the time. Yeah, in the Middle East and the Ukraine and Russia. Yeah, you got guys walking around, they're just fucking animals. It's like that, yeah. Yeah, it's unbelievable. Uh shit.
