Evening, assholes. I'm waiting for everybody else. We should have a full cast. Before uh people come on, I'm gonna do my plugs now. Okay. Neutrafit. N-U-T-R-I-F-I-T-T. Oh, look who's here.
SPEAKER_02Oh shit.
SPEAKER_06Boom, boom, right on time. I'm sweating the cams down, actually.
SPEAKER_03Crucifix. Discount code priest. Oh, Lee's got a nice shirt on. Eric, I gotta send you a shirt. Go to nutrient.com. Discount code priest 20% off. Whey protein. Uh and uh what was the other one? Vintage muscle. Put this under your tongue and your barball.
SPEAKER_06I just took some of the vintage muscle, the enadrol one just a second ago. And I was eating some yogurt, and I felt like the yogurt was acid burning my fruit.
SPEAKER_03Oh, it's not great tasting, but it's certainly not with yogurt. Not with yogurt. I'm gonna do an epitest and a nitinandro. What is that? Vintage muscle puts out, they're basically pro-hormones, right? So but they're liquid. You put it under your tongue, it dissolves, so it gets to your system really fast. So for people that don't want to like inject themselves, or people that don't want to go to the clinic or afraid of injections, or don't want to do whatever. This is like a better um alternative, and it it does work. Uh, and you get a pretty good discount, you know. I'm not gonna lie, it's not the best tasting thing in the world, but it is what it is. Oh, we finally got a science guy on.
SPEAKER_06Oh no, someone too smart for us.
SPEAKER_03I know. We got I got a science guy on.
SPEAKER_06What did I get? What did I get in the box?
SPEAKER_03Uh Eric, what size shirt are you? 3x, I'm assuming. About 3x, yeah. You're a 3x. Aman, did I ever send you a shirt? Oh, hero. Can you hear us?
SPEAKER_06He's in the clouds in Alaska with uh Aurora Borealis behind him.
SPEAKER_03Can't hear you, Aman. I'm not afraid of injections, John. Yes, you are, Holly. You're afraid of injections. Yes, you are. Uh can you hear us? Oh, there we go. Gotcha now.
SPEAKER_00All right, okay. Hear me? Cool.
SPEAKER_03I'm on.
SPEAKER_00I said I'm not a I said I'm not a science guy. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, you're the closest thing on this podcast to a science guy.
SPEAKER_00I don't like the term science guy because those guys try to like confuse everybody.
SPEAKER_03Like that's what we're gonna we're gonna get into that, and that's why I wanted uh I either want to I was trying to get a couple of guys on. Um we'll get into it. But uh, Amon, did I ever send you a shirt? A T uh one of my shirts?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, unless you made new ones.
SPEAKER_03Oh, all right, but you're a 3X or a 2X?
SPEAKER_00Uh I think I think it's a 2.
SPEAKER_032X. Okay, so 2X for Arman and a 3X for Eric Wood. Do you know Arman Eric? No, uh-uh.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so how are you?
SPEAKER_03Armand Armand certainly knows you because he he has his own podcast also called INOGs. He does with King Kamala.
SPEAKER_04I see a bunch of stuff on Instagram.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and and Chris and Chris Cook. Cook, yeah. Hey, yeah, he's got a lot of good people on, actually. Armand has a lot of good guests on.
SPEAKER_00Cormir's doing every other week because he does Dennis's one week and then he'll come on ours the other. Oh, that's cool.
SPEAKER_03That's cool.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we got premier.
SPEAKER_03So what do you got, uh Lee? What the hell's going on over there? I'm just looking in here. It's got a remote. Oh, I think it's the I think it's the Tanya. Are you the girl? You're the very smart girl I was on with yesterday. I believe so.
SPEAKER_06I think it's the um I think it's the Iron Man um that we have put on and it all opens up. Oh shit. Like it opens up remote control.
SPEAKER_03It's all voice activated, opens up and is that from that new sponsor you got?
SPEAKER_06It's an actual proper like one from the movie where I gotta put it together and put batteries in it, I guess. It's voice activated where the lasers come out and lights up and the hand lights up.
SPEAKER_03Holy shit. Tanya, Tanya, I hope you don't, I hope you don't go anywhere. Stick around because um you you know what, Tanya? I'd like to, if I knew you were gonna come on, I would I would have had you on. Uh, because after the podcast that we were on yesterday, I was on Paul Barnett's podcast. Um uh I was like, oh the perfect topic would be uh are we do we overthink bodybuilding? Because uh Tanya was on with me and yesterday on Paul's Barnet. So let me let me set the let me set the stage. Paul invites me on his podcast. So everybody knows Paul Barnett, and everybody knows Paul Bonnett is a fucking bodybuilding genius. It's it's no secret, okay. So of course I love going on. Uh I'll be here till my uh what is it? I'll be here till my final meal. Okay, no problem. Um so uh uh so Paul invites me on, okay. And um of course I'm like honored. Anyone who who fucking invites me on, of course I'm gonna come on, right? Especially Paul. Paul's been on a half a dozen times, but I always bring on Paul like as the science guy, the smart guy, which what like why I bring Arman on, same reason, right? Um, because he's they really know better. What's that um say about me? Yeah, it says you're a dummy. Fucking idiot. It says I'm a fucking idiot. Yeah, so big Xavier, what's up, dude? I'm the on the J. What's happening, man? Yeah, yeah. So okay, so uh let me continue, right? So here's the thing. So I go on Paul Barnett's um podcast, never been on it, okay? And and and and to my fault, and I'm I'm going to be honest, I have never actually watched his live podcast when he has this uh everybody comes on and talks about bodybuilding, okay? Um, so I didn't really know what I was in for. I thought I was just whatever. Well, anyway, there was like six Paul Barnett's and me. So there were six really, really, really, really smart people and me. And I was completely out of my fucking element. I mean, totally out of my element, right? Like um, a question would come up and they would get so deep into the science and the technicalities and the biology. Uh, and and and I'm just going half the time I had to Google half the shit they were saying. Um, it was it was unbelievable, right? So uh oh, thank you, Amy. I I appreciate that. Amy was another girl that was on. I appreciate it. Thank you, Amy. So it was I was clearly out of my element, but I was trying to like, you know, uh participate, ask questions, answer some questions, and I was trying to be myself and and joke. Uh, not only like only a handful of people had a sense of humor. I'm not gonna lie. There was some crickets when I was joking. Um I'm so totally not gonna lie. So uh so anyway, so uh so let me give you an example. Uh one of the ex one of the questions was um one of the questions was I'm using Cialis for a blood pressure medication. Um, I but I'm getting bad acid reflux. What should I do? So I immediately jump in and I go, ask your doctor for a new blood pressure medication, right? Like to me, it's it's pretty simple, right? So the rest of the panel had to go into what causes blood pressure, the biology of blood pressure, why why people use sialis, why it's not a good blood pressure medication, just getting into the deep root cause of blood pressure, using terminology I never heard before, using medical terms that I've never heard before. And then finally, at the end of the conversation, they said get a new blood pressure medication. And I remember, and Amy, you even said that's what John said at the beginning, right? And then and then there was like another question about deloading. And I never even heard this phrase before, deload. Lee, have you ever heard that phrase before? Deload.
SPEAKER_06Yes, it's all the new terms, deload.
SPEAKER_03Well, that's what it's it is, right? Deload was like, it's like the the questions are throwing around. Now, let me let me let me make a let me make a one point. I'm glad there are people like Paul Barnett, like people like there was a guy named Dr. Marv. I'm glad I'm on. I'm glad there are people like that. And the reason why I'm glad there, I like I'm glad there are people like that is because when I don't know something, uh how many I'm on, how many times have I fucking texted you? I don't know, I've texted you a million times about a certain protocol or drug or whatever, right? And I do the same thing to Paul. And at the same time, I have you guys on when I don't know all the the deep chemistry behind this stuff, right? So um there was another another one with one of the questions was um, how do I uh when do I know to deload? And I went, what is deload? Right to the panel. I said, What is that? And they were like, Well, that's when you take time off the gym. And I was like, uh, I just deload when I go on vacation with my wife once a week, once a year. Like, that's when I stop. I don't do shit when I'm on vacation, right? But he, you know, no, so now they went into how do you know from your a blood work standpoint, your CK levels, which I had to Google fucking CK levels, how to when it's time to deload, deload, right? All this shit. And my thing is, it's like you know that the majority of the people are just throwing these terms around. And when I mean the majority of them, I mean 99% of them, you're only gonna have maybe 1% of people that are in the gym that really drive themselves into the ground to the point where they have to stop working out, and and a coach has to say, you have to back off or you're gonna die, right? I mean, it's not too many. So they just go into it. So then, like, my question was I was trying to be nice, but my question was, well, how do you know if the guy's just being a pussy or not? Right? But I didn't say that. I right uh so uh so basically I'm on are we overthinking bodybuilding? Because to me, bodybuilding is you get in the gym, you hit the fucking weights hard, you eat right, you listen to your coach if you have one, and um and you fucking and you rest and repeat the next day. It it doesn't seem to have to be that difficult, but it looks sounds like a lot of people making it more complicated than it has to be, but that might be me. So that's why I wanted you on Amon today.
SPEAKER_00I I'm kind of in the middle with all that because I I I started coaching at a young age and I I've been doing it for a really long time, and so at first I was like that. I like to use all these like different terms and a lot, I don't even know what they are anymore, probably, but I uh you know, I I memorized a lot of things, right? And so it made you sound a lot smarter than you really were, because a lot of these people, I'm not saying those guys, but a lot of these people that use a lot of terminology like that, they don't know how to apply it to a person, or it's too general to be like, okay, uh, you know, uh one plus one equals two for like everybody, and it's everybody's so different, so you know, they respond different to food, drugs, training, whatever. And I just think people try to reinvent the will a lot because you know, there's new coaches that pop up every single day, and not everybody's a coach, right? And they've gotta kind of stand out from the other ones, so they try to complicate things way too much. And it's like you said, it's not that complicated, you know. Eat, sleep, train. Uh of course, I think it's important to have someone in your corner, whether be a coach or a good friend, to you know, to have a second eye. I always did, even though I was prepping people for a living at like twelve 20 years old, I started my business. But I I just think the terminology stuff has got way out of hand. It's kind of like a read and regurgitate regurgitate thing. They read as much stuff as they possibly can remember. They get on these podcasts, and everybody's oh my gosh, that guy's so smart, I've got to hire him. And I've seen some of these programs, some of these guys have written for people, and you're just like, I remember even John Metals, like I got a few clients from him, and he used to give out this like book like this. It had like for just your training. This guy's like, What the fuck is all this shit in here? I though looking at all this this training stuff is taking me longer than my workout. And so, and then uh we started working together. It's like, dude, this is so much easier. I'm making better gains. I was just kind of like confused with what John gave me, it was just way too much. And I think a lot of people do that, and it is what it is. People try to stand out, people are really good at remembering things, uh, terminologies and like deload and all these other words. They've just like taking off time. Like, why can't you just say taking off time? Why do you have to say deload? All these new terminology words that are just so simple, or there's many of them. I can't keep thinking at the top of my head, but all these refeed. What about refeed?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, refeed's another one. Yeah, the health phase. Now, now now, Tanya, Tanya, if you're still listening, I I'm gonna ask Eric Wood a question. He's answered this question before, but the reason why I'm asking this question is because it pertains to what we're we're talking about today. So uh Tanya, I don't know, but if you Eric Wood is trained by uh Chris Asseto, and uh Eric came in uh second at the Legion and Toronto Pro, right behind Tonyo and right behind um Quinton. And he basically shocked the world um with his with his conditioning, his roundness, his shape. He was nobody had Eric on their radar, and he showed up and kind of blew everybody away. And I asked Eric, and I'm gonna ask him the same question now what did Azito do that was so different that made you come in so chiseled, so full, and so round that made you uh like shock the world?
SPEAKER_04Like nothing. He just did it like old school way. Simple. Like he didn't change much.
SPEAKER_02So go ahead. This is good, continue if you can.
SPEAKER_04Like I, you know, I just checked in with him every two days, every day. But I'm I'm trying to remember. I think what I say.
SPEAKER_03Same kind of thing. Basically, it was basically really simple and straightforward.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03I'd never heard Chris gave me uh refeeds, like burgers and fries.
SPEAKER_04Oh, he gave you refeed. Oh, okay. That was that was like the biggest difference from my last coach to a seedo is uh the cheat meals.
SPEAKER_03Did he use the term refeed or cheat meal?
SPEAKER_00Cheat meal, yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, but yeah, everybody's been doing cheat meals, and I know there's some coaches that don't, and I think there's no reason to have a cheat meal for any bodybuilder, uh uh, you know, leading up to a show, maybe cut it a couple weeks out for some, but you know, just going back to uh I don't watch much much podcast because I don't have time, but I did watch the Dave uh Phil Viz thing, and it was it was extremely extremely boring.
SPEAKER_05But that was fucking terrible, terrible.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I watched that and you know I don't know Phil very well at all. Uh I don't think I've ever even had a conversation with him, but just the shit he was saying like take two eyes, use the insulin before your cardio or work, some just goofy stuff. He was just he's one of those guys that try to overcomplicate everything. You just try to get Dave in a gotcha the whole time, and it was just it was he was super annoying uh out of that thing. And Dave Phil's a Phil lives right by me, and Phil's a head case, like he he really is Dave's a good speaker, and Dave knows his shit, and Dave's been doing this forever. I that's not a guy you really want to debate with stuff. Oh, definitely not. No way, um, it doesn't mean like you know, he's the best and smartest coach out there, all this stuff, but it means he knows his shit, and it's not a good guy to debate with. And even let's say you're uh you know a more hands-on coach, because Dave does coach a lot of clients. It doesn't mean you know you have to make things complicated, like Phil was talking about all this stuff. You just wanted to get Dave and something. No, no, no, Dave, you said this, but no, no, no, go back to the tapes like, oh my gosh, dude, I had the last cheat meal of the day, and it just made him look foolish, it made him look desperate to get his name out there, right? And it just made him look sick.
SPEAKER_03I met I met Phil once, and I'm not gonna say I don't like Phil, I've only met Phil once, and um uh he was training a friend of mine. This is a few years back. He was training a friend of mine, and the guy was doing team uh, and I saw him in signature, and I went over to him and I said, Oh, you you're training my friend Dominic, he's doing um uh team universe, and uh he I'm on the guy didn't look at me, he couldn't look me in the eye, he was looking at the floor the whole time he was and he was like he was looking at the floor, and he's like, Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He yeah, he's gonna be good, he's gonna be good. And and that was it. Like it was really so, and then you know, so then I've actually heard people say that he's a little bit, he might be a little bit on the spectrum. So well, I guess John.
SPEAKER_00I heard of him the first time. Um, this was like 15 years ago. This guy asked me that used to follow me, it might have been on since like MySpace days. He he was like, Do you know this guy named Phil Viz? I was like, I don't know how it is, why, what's up? He's like, Well, he's talking shit about you. I was like, About what? I don't even know him. And he sent me all these screenshots, it's like 15 years ago, about Phil trying to get this guy, because this guy used to pay me for like consultations, he didn't have much money, he lived in like Algeria, but he used to pay me for consultations, he was a young kid, and I guess Phil was uh sending him messages like um Armand is not a good coach, he doesn't know what he's doing, all this kind of stuff, just to try to get this guy, like poach him as a client or whatever, something like that. And I told the guy, I said, I don't even know who that guy is. Like, why is he? I don't I've never met him, I don't even know who the guy is at all. Like, why is that's the only time I've ever heard his name or even come into any sort of contact with him. I used to talk to Nick Trigilli and all those guys, and I didn't I think Nick grew up or hung around all them, but um, I never knew who the guy was. Now I just you know, you hear stories about people, and you know, I like to like meet somebody to like determine if that person, you know, like if someone's talking bad about a certain person, I don't believe what people say because yeah, people say has said the wildest shit about me, and none of it's even true, but so I always like to make my own judgment about that person. But just what I get from him from the internet, he's a little out there and just yeah, he's a little bit, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, did you ever see the first time he was on our's muscle? Um the whole time he was like this with his nose up against the camera. And Dave kept saying, Phil, can you back away from the camera a little bit? And he like he would back off like a second, like an inch. It was really strange, anyway. All right.
SPEAKER_00I think I think he was a fan of Dave, he was a fan of Dave for years, and um, I think Dave heard his feelings on a podcast, and he then he he's a little older now, I think he's in his 40s, and he wanted to kind of like make had it. He had a chip on his shoulder, a grudge against Dave for years, and wanted to make Dave look stupid. For some reason, he thought he could. I knew it would it wasn't gonna work. Dave knew that too, and then it just it was just silly, you know, worthless video. They talked about a few subjects every coach should know, and uh it made no sense, it just made Phil look bad.
SPEAKER_03He he he was a decent bodybuilder. I'm not you know, I mean he never turned pro, but he was a decent bodybuilder. All right, Lee and Xavier. I'm coming to you. Lee, you got your new toy. What your new toy, do you think we are overthinking things in bodybuilding?
SPEAKER_05Yes, yes, we are.
SPEAKER_01That thing's fucking huge.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I'm trying to put this together while we're you're talking, see, but it's not well. Okay, how much was that?
SPEAKER_00How much was that thing, Lee? Yeah, really.
SPEAKER_06Oh, 400 and something. I thought you were gonna say thousands.
SPEAKER_03We will buy a t-shirt at Walmart for for six dollars. He'll spend crazy money on shit like that.
SPEAKER_06But the only problem is I put my forearm in, I've got to put it back together because my forearms too big. Oh, yeah. So I've got to put that back on it so I can connect it all back up again. But it's having we're having mal like difficulties somehow.
SPEAKER_03Uh all right. So, Xavier, have you um you've competed before, right? You did uh physique, right?
SPEAKER_01Uh I've done I've done bodybuilding classic school. What was classic bodybuilding back then?
SPEAKER_03And so did you have a coach or you trained yourself?
SPEAKER_01Uh pretty much always trained myself because I I coached other people. So I was like, and I'm I I I feel like especially when I was younger, I was too much of a control freak over my own stuff. Like I feel like I'd rather mess it up myself than have someone else mess it up. Um and I was also always as well like very, very health conscious. So I'd like to incorporate, you know, extra micronutrients and things like that. And a lot of coaches back then would just be like, wouldn't care about vegetables, I'd just be like chicken and rice, this and right. And I'm like, I always wanted to add more stuff. So I'm like, uh, I don't want to I wanna I want to experiment on myself, you know.
SPEAKER_03Right, right, right. So what do you think? Like uh because like I was on that podcast for about an hour and a half, and they were they were very nice people. Don't get me wrong. I don't want it, it was very nice, and like I said, I am glad that there are people that are that educated out there because I am not, and I never will be when it comes to bodybuilding. When it comes to anything, they are more educated on that subject than I will ever be on anything in my life. And I am happy that there are there are people like that. Um, but my issue is I think the majority of people that train like to watch these guys, but they and and listen to them like Paul, like Tanya. And uh, but they I guarantee you that they're not putting the work in. They listen to them, they throw the words around, they maybe they hit the gym a little bit, or they they go to the gym and they kind of go through the motions or the I guarantee you they're not fucking putting putting the work in. And I'm when I say that, I'm talking like 95% of the people. You know what I mean? Like I as far as I'm concerned, any person you don't need a D-load or a cheat meal or a refeed unless unless you are in a position like Eric, where your coach says, yeah, you know, you really have to, you know. Ex Xavier, what do you think?
SPEAKER_01I I think sometimes, like Armon said, like, I think sometimes coaches want to sound smart. And now, like a lot of people genuinely are smart if they're using a lot of these terms and stuff. Sometimes they just learn a few terms and just throw them around 50,000 times just to sound smart. Where I'm like, why I don't know why a lot of people can't understand, like even if you've got a very like Andrew Huberman, like the way he'll break something down, he'll explain the science, he'll break it down, what does that mean, and then how do you implement it, you know, sort of thing. So it's like a very well to understand sort of way to break things down. But I think sometimes some coaches just want to throw big words around to sound smart and then for the people to go, that guy knows what he's talking about. Let's go.
SPEAKER_00But exactly Xavier, like Xavier, out of the coaches and like let's say just the even the big name coaches over the years, and the ones that had a lot of transformations and good track records, do any of them I know I've never had with people. Do any of them ever use uh like uh you know, kind of confusing terminology or anything like that? No, they just get their clients where they need to be and have them look great, and they don't need to do all that. I think people that do that, they're compensating for their lack of actually in person, maybe prepping someone or actually getting them to the stage and maybe hey, this looks great on paper, but but when you get on stage, eh, it it didn't work, it didn't look, it didn't look so good. So uh I just think they're confusing a lot of people, and that and then I get it all the time. Someone be like, Well, I saw this video on TikTok and it said this. I'm like, okay, well, why do you want to do that? And they're like, Well, I I just saw a video on it. I said, So you have no reason why you just search some guy like certain guys like this throwing the stuff out there and you don't even know why you want to do it, but you're asking me and second guessing what I'm telling you to do because you heard it from some random people, and a lot of the young guys coming in, they're they all cut try to talk like this now because that's just the two things that's a lot of the newer coaches use the bigger words, well, yeah, yeah, yeah. And we were taught to dumb it down so people understood you, not to make it complicated. Right. And bodybuilders, you know, you want simple you want to simplify things for bodybuilders, of course.
SPEAKER_01So I'm gonna go you know with Asido, like Asido is not like thrown away like around fancy terms and stuff, he's just like, this is what works, just do it. This is what I'm feeling, exactly what I'm thinking.
SPEAKER_04I I never ask him, why are we doing this? Like, I don't what do I gotta question him for?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and he's literally I'm at the point where he's the greatest bodybuilding coach uh in the world at this point. I mean, like the guy has a track red like nobody else, and when he's on with Dave and they're doing heavy muscle talk, you never hear this in-depth chemic. It's just it's but okay, so uh Eric, here's another one. But this one's a uh let me set the stage for you again. Okay, I'm on the show. Like I said, I I can't reiterate, they were very nice people. I don't want people to think I'm talking bad about them. I'm not, they're very nice people. One guy was a chiropractor, and he's also uh uh I don't know if he was a physique competitor, whatever. Doesn't matter. Um somebody asked in the in the chat, I have a every time I squat, I have a pain between my calf and my shin. Does anybody know what that is and how can I correct it? Okay, don't squat. Well, that's okay, exactly. Right, okay.
SPEAKER_06All right, look, let me let me let me okay. When I when I do this, it hurts. What should I do? Stop doing that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, okay, exactly, right? Okay, so the chiropractor went into a 10, maybe 12-minute, and I'm not exaggerating, uh, explanation of what it is he knew exactly what it was that was hurting him. He and he's using all these terms, and I'm sure he's accurate because you know he certainly sounded like he knew what he was doing. He has a very successful chiropractic business, he makes a good living, and he's getting into it like the right, blah blah blah. And he then he's telling you exactly what to do. So, right, and I mean 10 to 12, everybody else is silent, everybody's just listening to him. So I tried to kind of crack a joke a little bit. Oh no, yeah, after the explanation, and I said, Hey, so his name is Dr. Marv. And I said, Hey, Dr. Marv, um, I missed that part. Can you start again from the pain between the calf and the and the and the shin, please? And he started again. I'm like, dude, it's a joke. I'm kidding, it's a joke. Holy shit. I mean, it was.
SPEAKER_06You were like the Lee Priest in a bunch on there, were you trying to do that?
SPEAKER_03So then I said I said, I said, I said, uh if the guy is not looking to be a competitive bodybuilder, I would tell him not to squat and just do another movement if it bothered you that much. I mean, if you're trying to grow, you know, Mr. Olympia quads, uh, you gotta figure it out. But if not, just do another leg movement. Uh, but and this is what I mean by like um, you know, uh a little bit, it was a little bit too. And then what was really funny, here's the best part. I thought it was a joke. I thought it was a joke. Tanya, do you remember this? Yeah the the about that the hatchet throwing. So there was another guy on, and he said to the to the chiropractor, uh, how do you help how do you better your when you uh your your hatchets throw? If you want, if you like to go and throw hatchets, how can you make yourself better? I thought it was a joke. Like I thought the question was a joke. This guy talked them off another 10-minute explanation on actually how to be give a you know, how to become a better night uh axe thrower. It was unbelievable.
SPEAKER_00So John, a lot of people can say I don't know. They have to have an answer for everything. That's a good point. And some people will feel like if someone asks me something I don't know, I don't try to like sound smart, like, well, like I just say, I don't know, dude. You probably need to go. If someone's saying that I mean the leg hurts here and there, go get MRI, see what's wrong with it, because nobody can tell you not Marv is a chiropractor, what's exactly going on? It could be a hundred different things, so go get MRI. So, I mean, you know, some people they they're afraid to say I don't know because they think it'll make them look stupid. It doesn't, you know, supposed to no one knows everything.
SPEAKER_03Now, like Eric, what would you have said to the guy that said, uh, when I squat, it hurts? I would have said don't squat. Okay, so it's nice. All right, so I was on this podcast and I was almost like, is Paul bringing me on this podcast to make me look like an asshole?
SPEAKER_00Probably.
SPEAKER_06John, you do a good job of that yourself, man.
SPEAKER_03I felt so bad that afterwards I apologized to Paul, and I texted him, and I was like, bro, I'm really sorry. I really couldn't like John.
SPEAKER_00Paul made a post one day, something about EQ, and he's like, Man, I've done a lot of research on EQ and I've got done a lot, got a lot of data about it. And uh, this is a post he made, and I'm really concerned about people using EQ, like for the kid this and this and this. And I commented, I said, Paul, man, dude, people have been e I think he got started later on in life with bodybuilding, correct? He started as a master. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So yeah, so he's he he's like he's like one of the younger guys, but started old, right? So yeah, he turned around as a master, yeah. Okay, okay, yeah, so that's what I thought. So um I said, dude, EQ's fine, it's not dangerous, like you're like you're saying. Um we took it. That was like one of the first I think second drugs I took when I was like 19 or 20 or something, when I started competing like 20 plus years ago. And I was like, there's nothing wrong with EQ, man. You're trying to like fearmonger people. He's like, well, uh, what's your email? I can send you all the data of like the hundreds of blood works I've seen. I'm like, bro, I like you think I'm gonna read blood work that I send you of like first of all, is it gonna be like is it gonna have their name on it? Is it gonna be like just random people, you know, or or what what data? So I like Paul too. I just thought it was funny because I was just like, it's not that serious, bro. Like EQ is not a dangerous drug, it's it's used you know safely. I think it's a perfectly fine drug. And then you had some other people comment too, some like you know, bodybuilders or people that's been in it for a while. They're like, dude, nothing's wrong with EQ. And he's like, I'm really concerned about the data I've read though, and then some blood results I saw that said, Paul, well, the people on the EQ, they were probably on 10 other things too. I doubt they were just taking EQ and you know, you know, testosterone.
SPEAKER_03But I yeah, I gotta I gotta sorry, give me one second, Leah, and I'll let you talk.
SPEAKER_06I got into chime in for at the moment. You cut me off. Jesus.
SPEAKER_03I'm sorry, man. Sorry. Yeah, no, I want you to come in. You were but you were playing with your toys. Um, I gotta reiterate. You want him to come in, but he's playing with his toys?
SPEAKER_01That's right. Someone click that.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Tani, you see what kind of podcast I do? Uh this is very different from what you guys do. No, I want to reiterate Paul is a great guy and he is smart. And he every time I ask him to come on, he comes on if he can. He he really, he really is a super good dude and he knows what he's doing. All right, Cadley, what were you gonna say?
SPEAKER_06I was gonna say it's funny though, you get all these science-based ones now and the bro science group and that, but if you ever notice sometimes some of the best bodybuilders in the world, from the get-go to now are the guys who just do the basic exercises, eat the basic food, do a basic bulk up diet. There's no stuff inside like me. I still wouldn't know what drugs go with what. I just used Decker and Donabile, whatever worked for me test. I never once read the encyclopedia of steroids. I never once looked at what steroids do and this and that, and I never once did PCT after any of my cycles my whole life. I just got off and went off. And but I said sometimes you see these guys who just train in a barn, lifting basic exercises, no rival reason, just doing bench press, squats, curls, feet like a horse, and then they grow and grow. Then you get the size on to go, well, that's wrong, you should do it. This is when I train that an only guy in Germany, I'll put him through the flex workout, and half the comics were, oh, you don't need to do that anymore. You don't need to push that hard, you don't need to do negative, this cuts into the DOMs, and this is just a waste of time. It's being proven, and then I train that toller guy in Florida doing arms and it's throwing up. Oh, this is just stupid, you don't need to train arms, it's bad, and it's doing too many things, this is too high volume. I'm like, this is a shit that's worked for years and years and years. Don't reinvent the oil people, just stick to the basics. Look, I go to a restaurant and the chef makes me a nice big meal. I don't call him out and say, excuse me, now, can you run me through the ingredients and the temperature you cook this and what went into it, please, and the preparation time and how long did you marinate it? I just want to know if it works or it doesn't work, or if it tastes good or it doesn't taste good. Fuck all that science shell if you want to go into that sort of thing. But most people just want to train and get big. And if you give them a product, does it work or not? I don't care what's in the product, because even my pre-workout, I just told Austin what I wanted to pre-workout to do. People say, Lee, what's it? I say, I'm a bodybuilder, I'm not a fucking scientist. Go ask Austin or something. I don't know. I just know it works. That's all I care about.
SPEAKER_03Eric, piggyback off of that because it because you're a champion bodybuilder today.
SPEAKER_04So yeah, like you hear you hear people say like graps and reserve, and I don't know what that term meant. And I'm like, well, you just train, you go and lift weights. Yeah. It's not hard. It's very simple.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, right, exactly. So you when you when you train, you stick to the basics, or or um does does the CDO even tell you uh about training, or he just sticks to no just diet, yeah. All right, so do you have a guy that like uh nope, no? So you just all right, so you do you stick to the mostly free weights or you do plate-loaded stuff, machines, or it's a combination of both?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, combination of all that, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03That that's what I that's what I figured. Exactly.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, right. I was gonna say, unless you really most people know how to do a bench press or a barbell cool. Like I said, it's not rocket science, unless you're like these bro science people now put these little twists on things and little twist here and a little it's like just press the fucking weight. Just press the yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_04I use like pretty much everything in the gym.
SPEAKER_05Just this is better.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, simple a lot of guys, a lot of guys, a lot of guys your age, Eric, though. Uh like how old are you? 30. Yeah, a lot of guys your age, like I was like Jordan Hutchins the other day. I uh we talked about on podcast a little bit, but uh, he was he made a video about how uh one arm barbell rows make your waist bigger, and I thought it was ridiculous. I like maybe like squats or something like that, but one arm. I think where the fuck did that come from?
SPEAKER_06Well, they used to say deadlifts and squats would do it, but I did heavy squats up to seven plates and nine plate partial deadlifts. I think your waste is genetic, unless like you are forcing food in with maybe the insulin they say to bloat yourself. But if your structure is your structure, it's pretty much you're not gonna exercise and gonna blow it out.
SPEAKER_00I think deadlifts. I mean no, I deadlifted one year a lot, like heavy, and I was eating a lot of food, and my waist did it get a little thicker in the obliques that year, and the next year I did it.
SPEAKER_06So maybe like death, maybe deadlifts or you know, when people do those side bends with weights, build your optical.
SPEAKER_04I feel like deadlifts aren't even that beneficial for body. I don't know. They're not body, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Rack poles, yeah, more like rat rack poles and um uh rows are definitely more beneficial for bodybuilders. Absolutely. Good, Xavier. You were gonna say something.
SPEAKER_01I can't even remember what I was gonna say, but um uh circling back to what Armand said before about like uh EQ and stuff. People now it's so weird. I feel like people are like, oh, EQ is not good because it increases anxiety, increases not good.
SPEAKER_04Anxiety before, yeah, it's all placebo, whatever you think is gonna happen. I never I never had decadent.
SPEAKER_06I used I used a lot of decker, I never had decadic. So is it like but I never went really over 400 milligrams of decker a week, so is it the higher amount? But I never got deca dick and all these things that people come out with now. But it's kind of funny, they'll talk about EQ and all this. But when you watch message boards, the main thing is young kids taking Trent, and then you read the comments. I can't sleep, I'm irritable. And this, I'm thinking, you worry about EQ, but you're talking about all the side effects from trend, and you're still taking it.
SPEAKER_03Like, yeah, um, me and Amman actually had a whole uh we did an anabolic academy together talked about uh decker and whatnot. That does uh I never got it, but Amand says he knew plenty of people that got it, so we kind of came to the conclusion that it was individual, like so something.
SPEAKER_06I don't think that these drugs affect everyone differently.
SPEAKER_03That's another thing. You gotta kind of figure out what compounds work for you. There's a generalization, right? You know, um, there's a generalization, but you really have to like try these things if you really if you want to compete and be a bodybuilder, you're gonna have to try several different types of compounds to see what works for you, you know. And it got to the point where in my 30s, like um, I would a coach would tell me, use this, and I go, that doesn't really work well for me. I I prefer to use this. And he'd be like, Oh, okay, if that's the case, then yeah, all right, that's fine.
SPEAKER_06And that's why in all my seminars, I tell people when I first started, all I did was decker for eight weeks, and then I took a couple of months off, and then I did test, and then a couple of months off, then I did Debo. That way, taking each drug individually, I knew if it affected me good or if I got good results from it. You've got these young kids now that would jump on a stack of three or four drugs first cycle, and it's working great. I'm like, how do you know which ones are working and which ones aren't? So I've always said just start with individual drugs to see how they individually work for your body rather than just throw them all in a cocktail at once and off you go.
SPEAKER_00I'm on how do you I don't know, I don't know one person that starts with one drug anymore. It's it's literally like five drugs with it.
SPEAKER_03I have I'll say this. I have I have met plenty of people. Uh uh Xavier, have you have you ever ran into this? I've have met plenty of people that want to use anabolics, but they're so fucking scared for some reason. And the first sign is when they ask you about anivar. They go, when they ask you about anivar, and and I and they go, I you know, uh, I'm taking uh you know 20 milligrams of anivar a day. I'm like, dude, like that's what girls take. You're a 200-pound man. What what if you don't want to take something, don't take it.
SPEAKER_01I haven't really experienced that to be honest. I think like I don't know, maybe I have experienced maybe Australians are heart of it, it's like fucking put a needle in me.
SPEAKER_06Like I hate the ones when when I was younger. What about this one? Ever being younger, when I was younger, I go to a barbecue somewhere and all the guys are standing around. Oh I can't believe you do steroids.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Steroids are still broken here, they're smoking cigarettes.
SPEAKER_06Well, a girl, I've actually had a girl too at an expo once. You're like a John, she had the big boobies, yeah, lips like this, fucking like this, and she's like, Yeah, I can't believe you put drugs in your body. I'm looking at her thinking, what the fuck haven't you put in your body? Then I'm thinking in my brain, you look like a whore. So I'm thinking, you're probably more you've had more testosterone pumped into your pussy than I've ever put in my fucking glutes or shoulder.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, when I used to when I used to go out a lot, Lee, when I used to go party a lot, like because I used to go out when I was prepping for shows. I I still didn't, I didn't I used to take like GHB and go out. I didn't drink, but uh I'd have girls like they're like you're steroids, like you're gross, and they're like, That's gonna kill you, aren't you worried? And they're like doing lines of coke while they're I know and smoking or drinking, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. When I first got into bot when I first got into bodybuilding, my oldest brother is a fucking chain smoker. And when I first started, like in my 20s, and I would show him like the magazines, he'd be and he'd be fucking chain smoking, like he like he'd be like, but yeah, well, all they do is take steroids. And I'm like, Oh my god, Jesus Christ, man. Like, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06If I if I took what you're taking, I could look like you.
SPEAKER_03That's another one. I fucking hate that. I'm like, why don't you give it a shot? I've actually told people, why don't you just come to the gym with me? And you know, just come to the gym with me and see if you can even without the drugs, just come and train, just be consistent. Yeah, I mean, it's just it's unfucking believable, man. But I gotta have two Octavias.
SPEAKER_01Is it two of me?
SPEAKER_03I got two Octavias.
SPEAKER_01Hold on, I will remove them. I apologize. Okay, okay, you got the right one. Good. Sorry about that.
SPEAKER_00But like even the peptides, like every everybody takes every single peptide, every single SARM. I mean, it's just like I don't know when you started. I know SARMs are really big, probably when you started, and then like you know, uh yeah, yeah, like a lot of peptides, yeah. Yeah, they'll be a little bit on a ton of SARMs, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like it's gone through a cycle. Yeah, but you see and JHRP2 and CGI. I remember Austrian.
SPEAKER_00Austrian came out when I was like, I think like 20. I'm 43 now. And I remember Austrian came out, like, oh yeah, this is supposed to be like steroids, but it's not, it's not, and I took it and I was like, nothing happened. I'm like, what is like this is this is pointless. And that was, I think, the only SARM I ever took. Well, that was before people even knew what they were, and then you know, our kids will be taking a lot of SARMs, peptides are like, I just yeah, I just want to. I'm scared of steroids, man. I'm like, You're taking all these SARMs, you don't even know they're probably worse for this.
SPEAKER_03Go do your blood work, it's probably it's like there are decades of research done on anabolic steroids, but the newest thing that comes out you you want to jump on. I can't oh have you ever found I'm on, have you ever heard this? Like guys, older guys that go get TRT and don't realize that it's an anabolic steroid, like they have no fucking clue. Yeah, and I yeah, and then they have no idea, like they don't think. I'm like, it's the same fucking thing. No, okay, all right, all right. No, if it's not on a script, you can kill you.
SPEAKER_01If you get it from a donkey, you could say that again.
SPEAKER_03Uh uh, Eric.
SPEAKER_04Low testosterone is just as bad as you know, like high. It's not if you're older and your test is dropping.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I've had conversations with your body, it's like you know.
SPEAKER_06Well, look, I'll just show you. We're gonna put it away because I went to put my finger in it and um I broke the side off, but I gotta clip it back in. I've I gotta put the finger back on. But I sort of like, look, the side's gonna fall off, you watch. It'll fall off a bit, you watch Looks limp. Look at that, opens up and then it goes close back up on your arms. Uh oh, uh then there's oh that's laser mode. Oh laser. Look at the laser on there.
SPEAKER_03Do you use that on your wife? Like try to make her take her clothes off with uh the magical gloves you have? Oh shit.
SPEAKER_06Oh, the lights under the hang.
SPEAKER_03Oh, oh, oh, oh like do you have like a Darth Vader helmet and put it on and try to use the force to make your wife have sex with you?
SPEAKER_06I do have a Darth Vader helmet.
SPEAKER_03Do you do you do that too? Yeah, pull my lightsaber out. Yeah, oh shit.
SPEAKER_06Um I'll show you. Hold on. This is actually a good one. This is a proper one that you put on that has the voice changer because you put it on, and then you can take it off too, but your face goes in here, see, so you can see out the eyes. Ah it's like a proper one.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I've gotta get I've gotta get one of those, Lee.
SPEAKER_06So I can look upon you with my own eyes. Now, how much I am your father.
SPEAKER_03How much was that, Lee? How much was that?
SPEAKER_06That was about probably 250.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_06Um useless, useless shit. Like you said, I'll I feel guilty buying a five dollar t-shirt, but then I know. I got an Iron Man helmet updated opens too, but and I got the Kylo Ren and that here. But I I look at it and I think to myself, when I lived in America, I do the Superman stuff. Yeah, I said, what a waste of fucking money. Yeah, that's it have a good resale value on my dude.
SPEAKER_03They're toys. It's like it's like my my my my motorcycle, which I'm selling next year, right? But I've had it for like five years. I bought it for $13,000, and then I literally dumped $10,000 into it on aftermarket and engine uh uh parts and all this shit. And it's just I'm never gonna get my money back. It's a toy, it's not my 401k. I don't give a shit. Anyway, let's shift let's shift a little bit. I want to shift uh topics a little bit. I was uh I was trying to get a couple of science guys on today because of this topic, and I I messaged uh Dave, and uh Dave apparently I think he's got to train people who's doing the Masters uh Masters National, so he wasn't able to come on. And then he said, I'm not talking about Chris Acido and his son. And I was like, no, no, no, I I I explained to him, I said, no, I don't want to talk about that. I I I wouldn't do that to you, I wouldn't put you in that position, first of all. Um, but I I said I and I explained to him what I needed a science guy because what we were talking, I told him about everything. And he's like, Oh, okay, no problem. But um uh I put a I put a clip, I did a video on it in YouTube, and I put a clip of me about Asito's son complaining about Dave's comments on my Instagram.
SPEAKER_06I saw that, I saw that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think everybody saw it actually. It's got it had a got a lot of fucking and uh oddly enough, the only person in the comment section, after like 50 comments on the Instagram, uh that disagreed with me was uh Phil Viz. Um, right? Uh uh and but here's the thing.
SPEAKER_01Well, what was your what was your standpoint on that? I missed that episode.
SPEAKER_03Uh basically, um that he's gotta get thicker skin and he's gotta fucking grow up because life is only gonna get harder. And if you're if you're worried about comments on somebody else's channel, not even your own, like a box of chapels. You gotta fucking grow up.
SPEAKER_00But you because I mean the message boards were way worse. I mean, I know Lee remembered the message. Oh, get big off. People telling me to grape in my daughter, yeah, just the worst stuff ever. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So basically, I was saying you don't want to be that guy, you don't want to be the guy that that is that that you know is a is a pearl clutcher because somebody said something mean. I was like, you want to be the guy that people could depend on in times of crisis, right? You want to be the strong guy that family could turn to you when shit's gonna happen because shit is definitely going to happen.
SPEAKER_06Okay, it is in the snap my fingers.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So anyway, oddly enough, uh Phil was the only one who actually made a comment disagreeing with me. And of course, I didn't respond, and then I left the comment up there, which is exactly what I said in my response to Asido's kid, is you could ignore it, and it you don't have to delete anything if you don't want to. Like it's up to the person, right? Um, but Xavier, you had a little bit of different take on it because I saw the I saw the video.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Marvel's the kids. I thought the only thing I did say, uh, as I said, the RX uh comment section is is the worst one in bodybuilding for sure. It's always been like that.
SPEAKER_00It's on it's but it's awful. I don't even look on the comments. Like when I'm on there, I just turn it off. I don't even look at it, it's it's pointless. There's you know, and it's about anyone.
SPEAKER_06Do you even remember when they had uh um Michelle on the second? Yeah, when Michelle came on that one time who promotes the show in Alabama, because she's had her lip stunner stuff. The comments about her looks and stuff too were like just totally like you don't read the comments, just like I said, to the same people, it's about eight to ten same people, probably got different accounts, and that's what they do, they just troll with just the most vile, yeah, yeah, just vile, disgusting stuff to get a raise or trying to yeah now because of that, she didn't want to come on again because she took it.
SPEAKER_00Really? Uh yeah, she was gonna they wanted her on again. She got and I was messing with it. She's like, I don't want to come on again because they make fun of me. I got Michelle, they make they make fun of everybody, and they uh are probably the ugliest, weirdest girls.
SPEAKER_03I feel bad for because girls I know girls take it personally, but if you're a guy, word shouldn't fucking bother you at all. I don't care.
SPEAKER_06Well, it's like these people know who we are. You get to see us. We we we use our real name, you got our face. These people never have a real photo, they never use their real name. It's always some like yeah, right. One and all the other ones. It's the same little group that just and they're on every podcast. I think it's me too. They mustn't have a job because Dave will have the after hours that I'm on's on, they'll have the HMR one and other ones, and you even watch other podcasts the same, and then Greg with Joe, Greg with um the other two Joes, the same people are in the same comment section constantly. It don't work, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Eric, I'm gonna that uh Dave's divorce tourney came on my podcast one day, it's done something silly. I just put block, and then the next time he came back, he never said anything silly again. So it's like do whatever you want to with your channel, you know. If you if you have the stuff up there, people are just gonna keep coming back.
SPEAKER_03I think it's too I've seen his comments, but they were really bad.
SPEAKER_06Like, yeah, but even like sometimes when they say like Chris Hassan was saying they're racist, like they're not really racist, it's just that if you talk about Chris Hassan and him, yes, they're gonna pick on the common denominator. It's like anything. People look at me and go, midget tattoos. It's like if someone's a different skin color, you're gonna go for the thing that you think's gonna piss them off the most.
SPEAKER_03So it's just gonna be the rest of your life, it's not going away. Just because somebody fucking deletes, it's never going away. So you're gonna have to fucking get used to it. But Eric, I'm gonna say something, but you don't have to respond because I know Chris is your is your your coach. Um, I heard through the grapevine, I heard from a very good source. Um, I and I'm not on this source is gonna remain nameless, but this is again, this is just a rumor, but it does come from a good source that uh Chris obviously trains his son, and his son argues with Chris about what he's feeding him. You ask me if I know anything about it? No, no, no, no, no. I'm saying you don't have to respond to it. Oh yeah, yeah. I can respond to that. That that blew me away, and the person was a good was a was a good source, and it blew me away. And I'm like, do you really your father is the greatest bodybuilding coach that that ever lived? Like, how the fuck? I don't know. And again, this is John.
SPEAKER_06I was an okay bodybuilder and did okay competing. When my daughter, when my daughter wanted to compete, and I told her, train this to eat this, she would argue with me every day. So I finally said, I said, go see my friend, you know, Steve Bardot, Xavier. He trains a lot of people, he's down near Sydney where she's. I said, go see Steve. So she goes to see Steve, he trains a lot of the girls and all types of people. He's really good, like coach for getting people lean. I said, So what'd you give her? I looked at it. Same shit that I gave her, but she listens to him and me.
SPEAKER_01It's family, man. Like, it's like telling your mum, like, is this diet? Like, hey, I heard this. I'm like, that's exactly what I told you five years ago. Oh, yeah, maybe that maybe it's more of a family thing. It is, it is.
SPEAKER_06Trust me. It's like my daughter wouldn't listen to a thing I said. So I said, I can't take it anymore. Go see Steve. Steve gave her the same actual foods and everything, but because it's not me, she listened to him. When she went to the gym at you and she you were to probably just trained at home with me and she grabbed a two and a half and she's just like this. I said, You need to go a little bit heavy, you need a little bit of resistance. Don't tell me what to do. I'm feeling I can't go any heavier. I said, You've been doing this for fucking five minutes, you can go a little bit heavier. She goes, Fuck it, I'm not gonna train anymore. So every morning I went to train at like 7 a.m. She'd come in with tequila and a cigar and sit on the floor.
SPEAKER_03Your husband is one of the greatest bodybuilders that ever lived. And you're like, shut up. Unbelievable.
SPEAKER_06She just laid there on the floor, smoking a cigar, drinking tequila in the morning while I was training. Uh, never doing this again. You just don't listen to me. I told you I can't, because I said if you see a woman lifting and she's just doing this, you know you can go heavier. She goes, This is hard. I'm like, okay, I'll give up.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's it's it it blows me away. It's just I you know what it is.
SPEAKER_06It's just just a family thing. They don't want to listen because you're too close. It's like, you know. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh it's just, it's just um I think that's what it is. I think they don't look at you like that. They don't they they look at you like just your dad, or you're my husband, or um, you know, people have said that to my daughter too.
SPEAKER_06They're like, what's it like having Lee as your father? Lee priest and that. She's like, he's just my dad. It's like, yeah, right. To her, it's just that she doesn't see that whole, oh, but he's this. She's like, he's an idiot.
SPEAKER_03Come on, have you ever had that happen with like your ex-wife or somebody was just like, Don't train me, don't tell me what to do.
SPEAKER_00Well, I don't have an ex-wife, luckily. You're thinking of me on that life challenge. Yeah, a lot, a lot of people, even with close friends, like you know, uh, I helped a lot of close friends out uh when I was younger and like building my coaching business, and uh they'd be like, uh, you know, ask me like uh really because this other guy said, I'm like that other guy doesn't know shit, and you're like you're you're asking me if this is really gonna work for you and this. So I had to drop a lot of uh a lot of close friends I used to prep. I dropped them. I was like, I can't be friends with you and prep because at the same time, you're pissing me off. I'm gonna strangle you. So yeah, even like people that are really close to you, like uh like just said Lisa, they see your compliments, but they don't I don't think they respect it like someone like an outsider would.
SPEAKER_03So uh just is it is that accurate? Have you guys heard this? It says Labrato doesn't listen to his dad either.
SPEAKER_06I've heard that I've heard someone said that, yeah. I think it's they'd probably be the same as me and my daughter. It's like you know, Lee would probably give tell Hunter what to do, but then he's like, I'm not listening, but then Ben Chow could probably give him the same advice and he listened. It's weird. I think it's like it's just a you could have somebody tell you like your dad could tell you, get a job, this now, you're like, Oh, fuck off, dad. But then some elderly person, somewhere else, could say, Listen, son, you're gonna when you need to grow up and do this and do that, you're like, Yes, sir, okay, I'll listen. But coming from your parents, you're like, Yeah, fuck off.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you're probably right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you do the opposite. Yeah, you know, the main issue would be the especially the drugs with them, what Lee took, and then what Hunter. So, you know, yeah. I didn't take one, you know, the 50th of that. You don't need to take that.
SPEAKER_03So um, yeah, you know, it's it's it's uh it's it's true. I mean, I would, I would uh what was funny is I would I would listen to my I would my mom never had good advice. My father, my father had a lot of worldly advice. Um I would go to him, especially when I got into my 20s and I and I started how to be I started I started having to become responsible. I would go to him for uh info and and and uh advice and whatnot. But you're right, when when I was younger, like below the age of 20, it was just like my dad would be like, oh whatever. But then once I realized that, you know, like he really I'll give you an example. Here's an example. Here's an example. When I was 20 years old, I dated this Spanish girl that was 26. Now she was and she was 26 and she was a smoke show, and I was 20 and I was in college. Was she a stripper? No, she wasn't. No, no, she uh she just had a regular job, she's like an administrative job, right? And she was a the girl was a smoke show, so right away the red flags all over my family everywhere, right? Like right away, like what that doesn't make any sense. So my my my mom will forget it.
SPEAKER_06Hold on one second. Does that mean it didn't make any sense that this hot girl would date you? Is that what it was?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But especially being daddy had sixties and that age is a lot for a woman.
SPEAKER_03Especially at that age, at 20 to 26, there's a big difference. Usually a 26-year-old girl who is beautiful wants a guy who's 30 and kind of has her shit together by that point, right? But all right, anyway. So it didn't last long. I was six, eight months, something like that, right? We broke up, and then I remember I was driving in the car with my father, okay? And my father goes, Now I grew up with a relatively traditional Italian family, and I had it was a little strange on top of it, too. Don't get me wrong. But I what I mean by that is mom, dad, brothers, siblings, cousins, whatever, blah, blah, blah. So, you know, she would come to the house every Sunday when my mother cooked, you know, uh uh, you know, uh gravy, we call it gravy sauce, you know, whatever. Um and I remember we we broke up, and my father said to me, We're driving in a car. My father said to me, This is this is like when I realized my dad really knew what he was talking about. He said to me, Um, that's the closest she's ever gonna come. And I said, What do you mean? She goes, That's the closest she's ever going to come to marrying into a family like ours. Right? She is uh he goes, he's like, she is not gonna have a bright future. Bro, I'm not kidding. Fast forward maybe where is she now?
SPEAKER_06Where is she now?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, fast forward maybe five years ago. When I oh when I yeah, when I first started the channel is when I started all my uh social media. So Facebook, Instagram, blah blah blah. So we friended each other on on Facebook and uh we started talking a little bit, and of course she got uh pregnant. She is a uh single mom. Um she uh she uh the guy that she uh got pregnant with uh uh got arrested. Um uh she lives with her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend, who's now in his uh they were both in his 20s, and I was just like wow, yeah. It's just he fucking nailed it, man. He fucking nailed it.
SPEAKER_00I mean, but uh when you're young Sean, I was like that to what my dad was like that too, but he wouldn't explain it. Like, so my kids I'll explain stuff to them so they understand. My dad, like the girls too. I'd be dating a girl, like, oh, she's in his personal voice, oh she's she's a bad lady. Like, don't I'm like, but why is she bad? Like, tell me if he told me explain to me why this girl was probably gonna call the police, get me in trouble. When I broke up with her, I could I probably listen. So I think you just have to with your kids, you just gotta like break it down for them. Yeah, they well, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Some parents could articulate it, and some parents can't. My mother couldn't articulate it at all.
SPEAKER_06My mother why is she why is she bad? Why is she bad, dad? Well, I'm on when she left the other day, then she came around the back of the house and blew me. So I'm just letting you know she's not the she's she's not the one for you, okay?
SPEAKER_00My mama's great breaking down stuff. My dad was horrible. So, like with my kids, I try to break stuff down for them.
SPEAKER_06Even they're they're young, they're seven and most most dads are very most dads are very basic meat and potatoes. Moms go more into the well, my mom was the opposite.
SPEAKER_03My mother had no fucking, she couldn't. My mother was typical Brooklyn, she couldn't say anything. She was I would talk to her, ask her about girls, and she would just go, Oh, girls are stupid. And I'm like, what does that mean? And she just couldn't articulate it. And and then as like what she meant, right? I understood what she meant, but she couldn't articulate it. Yeah, yeah, that's right. I said, I don't know. Let's not get into that again. Xavier, um, did anybody warn you about your ex?
SPEAKER_01No, so no, uh, now I look back on it. That fucking batshit crazy broad, and nobody warned you about it. I can't I can't I can't speak about her legally at the moment, but uh sorry, but I will say, um, an ex I was dating, her brother said to me, he said, Oh, I told him he said, he said, You're you're a fucking good dude, blah blah blah. And he said, I told him it's time not to suck it up. And I was just like, haha, like laughed it off. But like outside of that, there's no other warning signs, man. Like, there was wow, wow, she must have been real.
SPEAKER_06Eric, if you don't know what we're talking about, you'll have to Google Xavier and his ex in order to trouble to remember.
SPEAKER_04I think on Netflix about it.
SPEAKER_03They know instinctually the problem with mom on the problem with moms is they know instinctually, and but they but they will but they give you the wrong advice.
SPEAKER_06They'll be like, You can't help who you fall in love with, and I think moms like you know, moms will warn you, moms will warn you, but they're almost like you gotta find out for yourself. I can tell you, but I'm not gonna say yes or no, you'll work it out for yourself.
SPEAKER_03But your father's just like the girl, the girl, the girl's a hoo-wah, leave her alone. But yeah, no, my my mom was gone, for instance.
SPEAKER_00Uh my mom, sorry I interrupted. My mom, yeah, um, before she passed, she met the girl I had my daughter with, right? So that's before she got pregnant and all that. And we met for lunch one day. Mom, my mom, uh, every girl I would date, I kind of ring around my mom because I was real close to my mom. And she's just like, uh, and she liked most of the girls I was around. She's like, Yeah, but they're not for you, the personality's not strong enough. But this girl, she was like, I don't like her at all. And it was like a normal lunch, and I didn't see anything like out of the ordinary. Like, uh, she was very polite to my mom. I was like, I'm just like, why? She's like, I don't do something about her, just something's just off. And I'm just like, really? And then so I remember I we like we're kind of dating, we took a break. She's like, Oh god, I'm so glad you stopped dating her, and I didn't think anything of it. And then I started talking to her again. She's like, Oh, our mom, why would you start talking to that girl again? And dude, this was the craziest freaking girl I had my daughter with possibly ever. I mean, probably into like Xavier. I think me and Xavier, we spoke a little bit similar, ex uh you know, situations we had and all that, and it was the most trouble, most that I've ever been with a girl, the craziest shit, like yeah, the wackiest girl I've ever met in my life. And my mom just knew, like, they they know they have a sense.
SPEAKER_03That term girls are crazy and men are stupid, is accurate. You don't realize it until you get older because we're stupid because we fall for the pussy, right? And they're just fucking crazy, and they are. And I'm generalizing, obviously, right? I mean, the toxic girls are always the best in bed, and we always fall for the pussy, which makes us stupid.
SPEAKER_06They're all crazy, some just hide a bed and others. My mom was the type too, she wouldn't say anything. If my mom likes someone, she'd say, Oh, she's really nice, I like her. Then if I was with a girl and I'd be like, Mom, what do you think? She goes, Son, as long as you're happy, I'm happy. Then I knew she didn't like her. If she makes you happy, then I'm happy for you.
SPEAKER_03You want to know what my you want to know what my mother used to do? I swear to god, I'm not kidding. My mother, if she if I was dating a girl that my mother didn't like and my mother was around her, my mother would start talking about my ex-girlfriends and how nice they were. I swear to God, and I'm like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_06John, John, what have happened to Michelle? She's a beautiful girl. Sarah, do you know, do you know Michelle, his ex? She was so wonderful.
SPEAKER_03That's exactly like a real fucking like a and this is the and that is that is the tip of the iceberg I had to deal with with my mother. That was just that it was just like uh and that and my father would never fucking say, Would you shut up? Like he would never, he would just let he didn't give a shit. He just he was too busy playing cards.
SPEAKER_00Parents know you're gonna do whatever you're gonna do whatever you want, you're gonna do anyway. So it's like if you tell the person that's like even more reason you want to see the girl. That probably that girl's trouble, like okay, I'm gonna hang out with her more. That trouble sounds like fun until you get locked up. You just gotta learn the hard way.
SPEAKER_03The problem, it's it's to me in my opinion, it's worse with girls because girls can get pregnant, you know, and then and then they're then it's um, I mean, we're on the hook financially for them, but now they have this child with you, and they're they have to raise this child. And it's like if you decide that you are going to mess with a with a guy who's a piece of shit, um, you know, the consequences you can have a you can have a child with this guy who's a piece of shit. And if he's a piece of shit and he is already, you know, a criminal, the good luck getting any fucking child support. He goes doesn't care if he goes to jail or not. You know, and this is this is uh it it's a little bit, I'm not saying it, believe me, with men, it's just as bad.
SPEAKER_01women it it's it's a little bit worse and that's why I think you have to be a little bit I I missed the days of when older brothers and fathers were a little bit more protective of women like like like you know I used to have to go to the doorbell if I I was on a date especially with a girl that was Italian like uh you know I used to go pull up and then ring the doorbell and and meet the father before I took her off date you know that doesn't all I know is my mom's had three marriages I've had five and my dad's been with his partner for 40 years so you choose no one gonna call him gay they're always fucking happy and he's got lots of money fuck me I went I went the wrong way fuck it all right what's sorry dad I disappointed you and didn't go for the cock shit fuck all right one last topic and I'm gonna let you guys go uh Xavier I watched your um your show and I actually really do like Charles Griffin he was one of the first guys that came on my show um uh you really think he's got a chance I think he's uh maybe being under talk like not talked about as much because it's like the Joe and Nick show you know like if if there was no Nick Walker in going into Tampa I think that people would be saying well yeah Joe could you know level up and and clean up that show but maybe a Charles Griffin could beat him maybe this guy could beat him like Kennedy I've got a bunch of good guys in there but I think with Nick in there like people are looking at the show and going okay who could potentially who could have a a chance at beating Nick and the only guy that people really I think can imagine beating Nick potentially is Joe because the potential improvements he's saying he's 14 15 pounds bigger might not be a good it might not convert and look as good as we might think he's gonna be lucky if he breaks the top five because he does he lost size um I think he looked pretty good I think it'd be but is it remember I I watched your video and I and I know you know what you're talking about believe me but I I know you you cover bodybuilding well and you said that it looks like his legs came up and I think his upper body went down which makes his legs appear yeah um and I think that and we have talked about this anytime somebody a bodybuilder takes time off and loses muscle it always tends to not come it always tends to not be the same person when they come back um and I think John I'm right here mate I'm right here did Charles lose a ton of muscle or no because I I wasn't keeping up with his it was it was yeah he I don't know what happened if he got sick or he retired and he came back I don't know the whole deal but he did lose some some time and some muscle and I think with these new crop of guys and let's not forget you know if if Hollingshead looks like he did um in what was it Portugal is it Portugal if he looks like that you you're talking Nick Joe and Hollingshead James doing China is he or yeah he's doing China because he wants to qualify that's actually a really good idea I think Charles is gonna have a really rough time in this lineup.
SPEAKER_00I don't think he's the same again I might be wrong and I and Charles is a great fucking dude and that's the problem with having a podcast is when you have to be honest but you like the person um you know Charles is a great dude he's been it's okay though a lot of people have people on their podcast and they're not honest with them like oh yeah you're gonna win and then you know they're not only then they say otherwise yeah I you know I saw Patrick Moore's uh a video said yeah man I'm winning this show there's people's not gonna be I'm just like oh come on he's another one he's not he's just he he's just he's just he's just relevant because he does a lot of shows and he's not but he doesn't really he's got a pretty physique he's got a pretty physique but it's not uh it's you know he I thought he should always always gone the classic and he would have done more classic he's one like I said he Patrick he he's got to nail it to look great every time he's one of those if he's a little bit off he looks a lot off for some reason yeah he's gotta fucking be a hundred percent in order for him to do any kind of damage if he's off 10 it throws his whole body off absolutely quint Quentin's a bit like that too if he's a little off yes he doesn't look on but when he's on he's on so yeah exactly there's a lot of guys like that man and it's not easy it's not an easy sport don't get me wrong like something green yeah it's not like there's a lot and you know Harling's head too it's you know it's it's a big it's a big uh you know crapshoot that he's gonna look like what he looked like in Portugal you know because the last few last shows before that he didn't look like that not like the old days Dexter call me wheeler could come in 90% still win a show yeah you know it's just a different quality of of an athlete you know like Nick could be 10% off and still win you know huge yeah nick nick could be you know five ten percent off and still crush everybody it's just a different quality of athlete it's just it is what it is and it's funny how some get punished there because even Hardy if he's a little bit off he gets marked down but when Hardy's on he's on so it's like you know yeah what do you think you think he's putting on too much weight on he's looking bigger I know if I had yeah if I had a bet on it I wouldn't bet he's gonna crack top three if I had a bet on it but hey man you you know you never know I just don't like I don't I'm not just a huge insulin fan I I mean I think it can make you look crazy in the offseason it can make you you know jump from weight one weight class to the other I used it one year and I I did jump weight classes but I mean the whole Milos's philosophy I I I I like Milos and I like all the kind of insulin talk but I'm not a huge fan of insulin at all and if that's you know his you know he has that distinction already and listen we're still 12 weeks out so that's fine but yeah right I Hadi's problem I don't see howdy getting that much bigger right from the side shots he looks smaller compared to those guys he doesn't look as 3D but um I don't know if it's gonna be a good look for him and I think his legs are gonna look the same and that excessive insulin carb use might have made his waist a little distended we'll see though I just I wouldn't bet on it so I'll let you guys yeah yeah all right gentlemen I'm gonna let you guys go uh again much love and respect to everybody uh Lee I got to text you late I totally forgot I gotta ask you something um not again not again I'm not pregnant you're safe um but I thank you guys thank you Eric thank you Xavier I might not be on Thursday show either because I leave oh right you're going to the UK I leave 11 o'clock to fly into the UK on no problem no problem you got it unless it's internet on the plane unless it's internet on the plane not a problem dude um but uh yeah guys thank you very much I'm on thank you and Xavier guys thank you for the uh you know that shirt looks awesome by the way and I'm gonna say that's me that's me there the idiot yeah uh Xavier I would send you one but to ship it to uh Australia is extremely expensive yeah I know I I completely understand the food like when uh I was with hostile he sent me like a thing of t-shirts he's like I'll just send them I'm like yo you might want to send them with the supplements it's pretty expensive and then he messaged me like dude it was 250 dollars Canadian send them and I'm like I told you it was the box was like this big like not huge yeah yeah that's why I'm amazed when young la sends me those boxes that are like this big and this deep and it's like way a fucking ton.
SPEAKER_03I can only imagine what shipping on that is I can they must have some special deal some of these companies like i herbic stuff off them and I'll get a box like this and the shipping will be like six bucks I'm like how does that because they do so much I sent Lee a uh shirt uh I sent Lee uh uh a jersey that I had made up uh for him with the for the podcast and it cost me like 150 dollars to ship shipping was more than the jersey probably was it was insane crazy I know yeah all right guys I will talk to you soon have a good night gentlemen later later people good night
