Hello, sir. Muzzle's off. Streamyard's fucking maybe late. I don't know. The problem is I got my Punisher shirt on. Like it? I look cool, right?
SPEAKER_04Dude, did you watch the uh the last season?
SPEAKER_00I didn't, no. And that's what I like John Bernflaw and I didn't watch the last season.
SPEAKER_04Did you see they have another like an hour? It's on Disney. It's like an hour movie of him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Just as the Punisher. I mean, it's it's a little off the edge.
SPEAKER_00It's really violent, but I mean, I like him, but you know, he always plays a tough guy. It's the same role, but didn't you see the new Spider-Man? But he's good at no, no, I heard good things about it too. It's fucking good.
SPEAKER_04I think it's one of the best Spider-Mans ever.
SPEAKER_00I heard I heard. I heard. And I'm not a they needed a good superhero movie because they haven't had one in a really long time. Yeah, they've been trash.
SPEAKER_04Hopefully, Doomsday is good in December.
SPEAKER_00You know, oh, yeah, all right. I'm gonna because they they've been ruining superhero movies.
SPEAKER_04Like that last Superman, I was like, Oh, dude, all the DC has gone to Batland's are good. Yeah, but everything else DC is fucking trash.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, really.
SPEAKER_04I'm not a James Gunn fan. It's it's too over the it's too much.
SPEAKER_00It's too ridiculous, it's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_04It's too much.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, um, what the hell was I gonna say to you? Uh I forgot I was gonna say. Oh, how do you feel? Start there. So I'm hurting. Jason, that was disgusting. Why would you do that live?
SPEAKER_04I I had my treatment uh yesterday. Um and I was off last week of one of my treatments. And I and I guess like when I was doing it every week, I guess you're used to it, your body's you know, so I think I would respond better when I was, even though it beat your body up, you know. Um but this time I think because I had I had off of them for a week, so I hadn't had that one injection for two weeks, like it fucking hit me hard this time, dude. Like I as soon as I got home yesterday, like I was done for the day, like I did my work and everything, and today I got up and I felt good when I got up, but the more I did, I would I'm like I'm like walking that line, you know. Yeah, too much activity or too much, you know. Um if I'm moving around too much, I I just start crashing, you know. So sucks, man. Yeah, but but I'm off next week, and then I have a six-week layoff to clean out.
SPEAKER_00Oh, good.
SPEAKER_04And then I get that stem cell transplant. Yeah, so that's gonna be rough, but I'll have a six-week break to get all this shit out of my system and hopefully have some good days because I've had my share of bad ones. You know, you play your own dude, you deal with it, but uh right, but you know, we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna prevail. We're gonna prevail over this.
SPEAKER_00Obviously, that could've fucked with the wrong guy. That does yeah, it doesn't. You can't just lay down and die.
SPEAKER_04He he's gonna wish he found another host. He's gonna get bent bent over, and he's gonna wish he fucking found somebody else to to invade.
SPEAKER_00It's like the end of uh it's like the end of Ghostbusters when they blow up the uh the same up marsh.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, anyway. Couple of quick announcements. First of all, Anabotic Academy. You look sexy. I like the hood.
SPEAKER_04I will do the hood.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you look sexy. You look like a uh a night early 1990s hip hop artist.
SPEAKER_04Degenerate. You look like an early 90s degenerate.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, um excuse me. Right. Anabotic Academy is brought to you by I Prevail Subs and only I Prevail Subs. And honestly, and I'm not making this up, the fiber is fantastic.
SPEAKER_04What flavor did you have? The watermelon kiwi.
SPEAKER_00What was the other one? I don't think I was.
SPEAKER_04There's an orange mango, and there's a natural flavor.
SPEAKER_00No, it then was probably I think it was watermelon kiwi because I did not get the natural.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna send you the orange mango one, dude. You'll like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, okay. Because I mean they're all good. Yeah, honestly, I I'm at the point where the flavors don't even, I just I use the natural, the natural flavor is my best seller.
SPEAKER_04Oh, because you just mix it with your shakes, they can mix it with anything, yeah. Um, and that's what I do. I mix it with my shake at the end of the day, and uh, but the flavored ones, if you take by themselves, they're fucking good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I just I just doubt it's at the point where I just down it. Like I don't I just get it in, I just get the supplements in.
SPEAKER_04That's how I feel about everything. Who the fuck has time? Like, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I will put I will put protein, creatine, fiber, electrolytes, and one fucking thing, and I don't even care if they're all flavored, different flavors. I just drink them. That's it. Did you ever use my creatine? What's up? Have you ever used my creatine? No, I've never actually have never used your creatine.
SPEAKER_04I'll send you one of those too, Dave.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_04Okay, cool. Like it just you'll know.
SPEAKER_00Thank you, sir.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, of course.
SPEAKER_00The other announcement quickly is if anybody is interested in a true crime, on my other channel, I just put out this morning a video actually documenting the rise of Joey Merlino as the boss of Philadelphia Mafia.
SPEAKER_02Oh wow.
SPEAKER_00Joey Molino had a war with another mafiosa named John Stanford to take over control of Philadelphia. He actually won, but he actually had to do 12 years in jail. Today he is no longer the boss of Philadelphia Mafia, and he has his own podcast. It's called The Skinny, and he refuses to talk about anything mafia related. And he should never uh you should do it again.
SPEAKER_04I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00Okay, he never snitched, he never turned states evidence, never said a word, and uh he actually and he has the ability to be funny, but there was he what went through a an actual war in the early 90s, and uh we go through it detail by teeth detail, step by step, murder by murder. It is a it is it is a great video if you got if anybody's interested. He admits he admits to murders on the uh no, he actually was arrested for racketeering, drug selling, and murder. The the murder and drugs were uh dropped, and he only went to jail for racketeering, which gave him 12. Which gave him 12.
SPEAKER_04Did he talk about any murders or anything?
SPEAKER_00He doesn't talk about anything mafia-related. The only thing mafia-related he'll talk about is if he has like a an online beef with another mafia podcaster. Other than that, um uh yes, Amy watched it. Yeah, it is a crazy story because the guy had balls of steel, you know. Anyway, all right. So today's topic certain steroids that make you tremendously irritable, and why that happens. Now, um, we've heard things like testosterone can make you irritable as well, a little bit high strung. I never really saw that, I never really firsthand. The two that come to mind immediately is trend balone and halotestin. Do you have any others that come to mind or those two stick out specifically for you?
SPEAKER_04So it's an interesting topic, you know, because from a side effect point of view, okay, you usually hear of those more aggressive angry-type behavioral side effects when you mention uh a trend, a trembolone or or a halotestin or an anadrol, right? Because the anadrol, they're they're high androgenics, you know, good anabolics, but very strong androgenic properties, which means two of them are DHTs, the other one is a 19-nor, um, but they're so highly androgenic that it's more I guess it's more found in those three than than in any of the other ones. But to be honest, dude, I I think that carries in each person differently. You know, the same way some guys go to the bar and get drunk and all of a sudden they're a tough guy, or some guys go to the bar and they laugh and have a good time, and some people get quiet, and they everybody has their own identity whenever they're using a drug. And I think when people take an anabolic steroid, they use it as an excuse. Hey, I'm aggressive now, I'm this, I'm that. You know, because I've seen people taking minimal stuff. Oh, I'm so aggressive, I'm so this, I'm so that. Dude, I've taken everything. I never notice any type of roid rage, right? Any type of aggression. I'm I'm I'm kind of as and don't get me wrong, I I I could have a hot head when I was younger, probably more so than than than now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, of course.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but you know, I'm probably one of your most down-to-earth guys, you know, and and calm-mannered guys that's on this stuff, you know, was on this stuff. So I think it hits each person differently, but the reason those three are always are always targeted, are always mentioned is because of their high androgenic properties.
SPEAKER_00For me, I remember using Trembolone. I've used it pre-contest, and I've used it when I wasn't doing a pre-contest. And when I used Trembolone, uh, I think the just the pre-contest diet and the stress was really getting to me. Because when I used it when I was not doing a show, it really didn't get to me. Halo tested on the other hand, it was the worst. I will never take that again. It was the it made me short-tempered, anxious. It was the worst drug. I mean, I was strong as a house. I remember a couple of weeks before the show, I squatted four plates for like 15 or 20 reps. I was strong as a house, but the irritability, the anxiety that that drug gave me was insane. Just absolutely insane. So I let's see, I looked up a couple, I looked up both trembolone and halotestin, and let's see what we got here. All right, so let's do trembolone first. Okay, can you see that? Yeah, okay. So it says, why trembolone can make you irritable? Trembolone can cause irritability and aggression because it alters brain chemistry in ways that heighten aggression pathways and weaken calming systems, a phenomenon called the Tren Rage. Trembolone is a synthetic anabolic androgenic steroid with about 10 times the affinity of testosterone for brain androgen receptors.
SPEAKER_04And it's a high androgen, yeah. There's androgenic properties like I just mentioned.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, absolutely. It binds strongly to receptors in the limbic system, the brain's emotional regulation center, and also interacts with NMDA receptors, which I have no idea what the fuck is. Do you? I have no idea.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they're like neurotransmitter receptors, and in uh you usually um that that helps your body release serotonin. No, no, no, um, dopamine and and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_00Ah, okay. Because it says here that disruption of these receptors can increase impulsivity and reduce the brain's ability to inhibit aggressive responses. Disruption of calming trimple also affects GABA receptors, the brain's main calming mechanism.
SPEAKER_04I didn't know that. Okay.
SPEAKER_00I I did not know that either. By altering GABA signaling, it reduces the brain's breaks on emotional reactions, making it easier for frustration or stress to trigger irritability or outbursts.
SPEAKER_04So you'd want to supplement GABA when you're on this to come off.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, obviously you would think so, right? Absolutely. Which is in your sleep aid, correct?
SPEAKER_042500 milligrams, dude. It's a solid dose, it's a high dose. And you're maybe that's why boys use these ingredients. Maybe that's why I didn't feel them. Maybe that's why you get aggressive.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you might be probably right. Uh Dream Chaser from I Prevail Subs has GABA in it, and it also is a great supplement for sleeping.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Well, there you go. Disrupt dopamine and serotonin. Yeah, there you go.
SPEAKER_00Research and clinical reports show a trembling can disrupt dopamine, serotonin, cortisol, pathways simultaneously. This combination can lead to mood swings, anxiety, and heightened emotional reactivity, all of which contribute to irritability, dose and individual risk risk factors. This is what we talked about. Studies have found higher doses are linked to greater verbal aggression, pre-existing mental health conditions, longer cycles, and higher doses increase the likelihood of severe psychological side effects. Yeah, that goes without saying it's definitely dose related. Because I honestly, from trembolone, I never used a lot of trembolone. I never really felt anything. Why is it different from other steroids? Unlike any, unlike many anabolic steroids, trembolone's unique receptor profile and potency means its psychological effects can't be more intense and prolonged. All right, so we got that one. Let's get rid of that one. And now let's go to halotestin. Can you see that?
SPEAKER_04I would definitely put anadroll in there, too.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I'll look it up. Can you see um this halotestin? Oh, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_04I do these medications I'm on, they fucking dry everything out.
SPEAKER_00So all right, let me see if actually. Oh no, okay. I have to go back and do it again. Uh there we go. Much better. Okay, here we go. Now you can see it, right?
SPEAKER_04Hold on, I'm getting my glasses. One sec.
SPEAKER_00Get glasses, Alice. If anybody's very old, they'll know that commercial. Why halotestin can cause irritability? Halotestin is a potent synthetic androgen that binds to androgen receptors in the brain and body. While it is a while it is prescribed in specific medical situations, its strong androgenic activity can alter mood and behavior, and irritability is a recognized possible side effect. Androgens influence neurotransmitter systems, including serotonin dopamine, which is the same thing as we read on Trembolum, which regulates mood. Excess or altered androgen signaling can lead to emotional liability, increased anger or irritability. Halitestin's high androgenic potency means it can produce these effects more readily than some other anabolic steroids, which is exactly what Jason said. Documented side effects, anxiety, depression, increased anger, possible adverse effects of halotestin. Irritability can be part of the mood change, especially in people sensitive to hormonal fluctuations. The drug's effect on the central nervous system, combined with its impact on libido and sexual function, can also contribute to emotional changes. Whoa. Okay. Other contributing factors: hormonal imbalance. Halitestin can suppress natural testosterone production and alter estrogen levels. Underlying health issues, irritability may also be linked to other side effects such as headaches, anxiety, and changes in sex interests. And of course, what does that mean?
SPEAKER_04Like all of a sudden you're gonna like a dude?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, apparently it suppresses your testosterone production. I did not know you're kidding. Oh, you never know what's going on with the WNBA this year this these days, so you never know. Uh some people are more prone to mood changes with androgen therapy, even at therapeutic doses. When to seek medical advice? Holy shit. When you shoot somebody, then you know, then you know you've crossed that line. Yeah, then you really can't. Bottom line halotostin can make you halotestin can make you irritable because don't distract me. High androgenic activity can disrupt brain chemistry and hormonal balance, leading to mood changes. All right, we got it. Good. Okay, anyway, all right. So I just laid it out for everybody. And halotestin, that's the one that I could say that I used one time or one time only, and it drove me insane. And I wasn't using a lot, I don't remember exactly. I remember it clearly making a difference in my physique and clearly making me strong as a bull in the gym. But my attitude and my irritability, and it was horrible. If I remember laying in bed, and if my wife touched me, even if it was accidental, I would like jump. I would be like, Don't what? It was horrible. I never got that with any other drug, not with um anadroll, not with trembilone.
SPEAKER_04While we're doing that, I'm actually gonna look up anadroll, oxy methylone, or just anadroll should come up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Have you so you when you were competing, you never had a short fuse or or anything like that.
SPEAKER_04Look, you know, when you're young and you're in your 20s and you're fucking blasting all that gear and you're the only time I really you know what it is, dude. I let it all out in the gym, dude. I I would just train and you know there was nothing else, dude. Like I was I was fucking exhausted. Maybe I just beat myself up to I didn't I didn't care to be aggressive, I was done for the day. I had you know, I just I left it all in there, dude. There's no aggression left. Don't get me wrong, somebody cuts you off, you get pissed off. You know, you yeah, you slash their tires, you throw a bottle at their car. You're normal stuff, normal behavior. It's not considered aggressive, you know.
SPEAKER_00Kidding no, I no, but it kind of slashed their tires. It depends on you didn't even hear me. It it went right over my head. And driving in New York City, yeah, that is considered normal.
SPEAKER_04No, but um Detroit, whichever but I had confrontations with people, but it wasn't because I was overly aggressive, it was because it was time to have a confrontation with someone, you know. Um but yeah, I I I really can't say that I that was one of the side effects that that I felt or I I saw because even when I came off, I was still the same. I would still have the same, you know, nothing nothing ever changed if I was on or when I was off.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. So okay. What's uh what's funny with me is I think the majority of my irritability pre-contest was because I was so stressed and nervous about the contest.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00You know, let's face it, I only did four shows, and one show was in 1999, and the next show was 2012. One time, yeah, and then I did two in 2012 and 2014. So getting on stage was it was very stressful for me. It was I had a lot of anxiety, you know, even though people would say, Oh, you know, you should do a show, you should do well. I think the majority of it, and then once I got to, you know, the last four weeks and we started doing carb manipulation or low carbs or whatever the case may be, whatever my coach had me do at the time, it was just a shit show. And I just really one of one of the one of the reasons, I mean, there were several reasons why I stopped competing, but that was one of the reasons. It was like I am a miserable bastard, and I'm making everybody around me miserable. I mean, that was like maybe 25% of the reason. You know, everybody knows the story that I've told. The real reason is I saw John Meadows when when um what's the show that they have in Jersey every year?
SPEAKER_04It was the team universe.
SPEAKER_00Win Team Universe, I think it was in 2013 or 2014. Yeah, and that was when I was like, I'm never gonna look. This is for how I'm never gonna look like that. I'm never if that's what it takes to get a pro card in bodybuilding, I'm this is not gonna happen for me. That was the majority of it. And then, you know, the rest was basically just logical, like looking in the mirror, going, okay, I'm just gonna collect another plastic trophy. I'm already in my 30s, I'm gonna spend a lot of money, I'm married and I have a house and I have responsibilities. Bodybuilding is just not going to make me money, it's gonna cost me money.
SPEAKER_04So that sometimes we all gotta grow up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, those were the three things that really I was like, okay, it's time to put bodybuilding on the shelf and then start a podcast and act like a goofball. That's really what happened. But I could say without and I've tried anadroll, I've tried trend balone, I've tried pretty much every anabolic. The only one I haven't tried was superdroll.
SPEAKER_04That was the only that was more of a pro hormone stack, right?
SPEAKER_00Than I never used it, and I never remember anybody really using it much.
SPEAKER_04I I heard of people a lot of people actually that used it that loved it, thought it was the best thing ever.
SPEAKER_00I never really but halitestin for me was the like the the the no-go anymore. But all right, let's look up anadrol. I have a feeling that these are all gonna basically be the same reason.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you're gonna get the same yeah, ethidopamine and oroepine activity. I put my fucking glasses back on. Holy shit.
SPEAKER_00That's all right. I'll read it. Anadrol can cause anodrol can cause irritability because it alters brain chemistry and body functions in ways that affect mood regulation, often through hormonal changes, sleep disruption, and increased emotional reactivity.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_00Ulter dopamine and norepiphenine activity. These neurotransmitters say that again.
SPEAKER_04Norepinephrine.
SPEAKER_00Norepinephrine. Okay, thank you. These neurotransmitters regulate focus, motivation, and emotional control. Overstimulation or imbalance can lead to mood swings, irritability, and anger. Impact serotonin pathways. Changes in serotonin can affect emotional stability, and imbalance may manifest as irritability or aggression. Cause hormonal fluctuations, metabolic steroids can raise testosterone and other hormones, which is uh some individuals can increase emotional reaction. Uh blah blah blah blah. It's all the same shit. Sleep disruption, appetite suppression. That also, yeah, I could definitely see that being changing your mood. Individual sensitivity, which we saw, which we read about already, underlying mental health conditioning, uh, conditions, preexistent anxiety. That was me 100%. Why it feels like irritability, the combination of heightened emotional reactivity, disrupted sleep, which is we're basically repeating ourselves here. Bottom line, anadrol can make you irritable because it changes brain chemistry and body uh functions in ways that uh destabilize mood, especially in sensitive individuals, or when combined with poor sleep. Actually, you know what? It's funny that they said that. I've always had like been battling anxiety and the since I'm 10 years old. Like I'm not no joke, like since I'm 10 years old, and I remember 10 years old, I didn't even know how to explain it to my parents, you know, and because I was 10, and then I've kind of been battling it. And then when I was in my 20s was when I was like, because my parents never wanted me to go on any kind of drugs or anything like that. So for a long time I was using Zoloft, and I remember thinking that prescription drugs were gonna help me, were gonna make me maintain water. So I would come off the Zoloft, right? For the whole time that I was prepping, thinking that it's gonna hold water, and then I would use halitestin, trembolone, be on a low carb diet, stressed out over the over the fucking show. Yeah, I it was a recipe for disaster for me.
SPEAKER_03It adds up, it all adds up, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's unbelievable. But if you are experiencing irritable mood swings, how do you deal with it? Let's say somebody is doing a contest, and you know, they have another four to six weeks, and these are the drugs that they have to be on. Maybe they even have the potential to do well. What do you say to somebody that says, Look, I I'm having these crazy mood swings, blah blah blah. How do you deal with it?
SPEAKER_04I think the the best thing to do is to stay busy, keep your mind on other things, pick up a book, you know, read something. Um, that's why you know I always I couldn't, I I took, I think we talked about it once. I I wanted to just train for my shows and not work and just you know take in my sponsorship money and be able to train as a bodybuilder. I went out of my fucking mind. Yeah, I went out of my I had to work like so. I went went back to my routine. Like I needed to stay busy, you know. So when you're not constantly thinking about food or pinching your skin or looking in the mirror, or dude, it it's it's so exhausting, you know, uh prep and it and it challenges you on so many levels. Like I don't think people realize what it takes to prepare for a show and how difficult it is because you really find out what you're made of, you know, during during these times, like you know, because you're starving half the time, you know, and uh if you could control starving cravings, you can overcome anything in life because that that is the hardest thing to do, right? Yeah, so it requires a certain type of discipline, and the only way you get it is from constantly doing it, you know, and uh, but once you conquer that, like I said, you could conquer anything. But the best thing to do for me anyway was I kept busy, you know. Um, find puzzles, do this, read a book, you know, binge watch, you know, whatever, whatever people do, stay in your job, stop worrying about how you look. You have one time a day, you do your training, you look at yourself, and you're done, and that's it. You eat your meals on time to keep everything on a regimen, keep everything on a plan, so you're not surrounding yourself with all these thoughts like, what about this and what about this? Just stick to the plan, you'll see yourself tomorrow. And you have to understand, you know, you're not gonna look perfect every day. You know, you're gonna be flat most of the time. Like whoever tells you, Oh, you look full, we need to fill you out when you're prepping for a show, you're out of your mind. Like you're always portionately, you know, partially flat. You know, you're depleting your carbs, you're cycling your carbs, you don't like there's no way you could burn body fat and get get lean when you're constantly lowering your body with with glycogen, with carbohydrates. So it doesn't work that way. So once you kind of get into the mindset, was um as long as I look perfect on stage, it doesn't matter how I look now, you know. Then you could you could kind of overcome those hard feelings, but dude, it is it is very difficult, but it really is.
SPEAKER_00I remember I remember Sunday was the worst day for me because Sunday was my day off from work and the gym, and it was the worst day. And I didn't know I used to go for walks, I didn't know what to do. And you know, it got to the point where it's it's like a tremendous low to a high, right? Especially if you win or you do well. So you're like a week out, and you were like, I am never doing this again, and then uh you're like, I must be crazy, I am never doing this, and then you get on stage and like you win, and you go, Oh, I can do it again.
SPEAKER_04Well, then you go eat, you eat one or two meals, yeah. It just clears you right out, dude. All right, I'll do this again next week. Yeah, or you're still I don't want to get too fat, I don't want to get too bloated. You'd start liking the way you look, and you stretch out that contest look as long as you can because you look great at that point, you know. Who doesn't want to who doesn't want to keep it going?
SPEAKER_00I want to, if you have some time, I want to shift gears a little bit because I want your opinion. Did you watch Atlanta?
SPEAKER_04I saw just the highlights of it and and some and some pictures and a couple comparisons.
SPEAKER_00Joe Palacios, he has become kind of like a friend at this point, right? Like he's been on the show plenty of times. We go back and forth on Instagram, and I really felt bad because I know he he wanted to uh do much better. I don't know if you saw the interview of him on Fuad, but he basically said, I realize that I am not as good as I thought, and I have a lot of work to do.
SPEAKER_04I did not see that, but very admirable.
SPEAKER_00Okay, it was really admirable. I think this is why people like him so much. He is, I don't know if you saw it, but he is massive. Did you see him?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I know he's a big dude. Yeah, he's a big fucker.
SPEAKER_00And he's not doing Texas. He wants to pack it in.
SPEAKER_03Where did he end up in Atlanta? Fourth?
SPEAKER_00I think both of them, I think both chose he came in third.
SPEAKER_03Third?
SPEAKER_00I think I'm pretty sure both chose he came in third, which is it's pretty good when you you know you're competing against Nick Walker and James Hollingshead. Where was Regan Grimes?
SPEAKER_04Where did he end up?
SPEAKER_00Regan Regan came in second in Atlanta. It was James, Regan, then Joe. Right? So first question is do you think it's a mistake that he uh isn't doing Texas?
SPEAKER_04Well, dude, he was off a little bit, you know. Like he could I do think it's a mistake he's not doing Texas because when you're that close, it's right there, dude. Just just jump in, fine-tune the things you need to fine-tune, learn your body.
SPEAKER_00Um, he actually said that on oh, I thought that was I thought Forrest was just goofy. No, it was that's funny. He was on Fuad, and he said when he did Tampa, he thought it was using uh halitestin, and it turned out to be anadrol.
SPEAKER_04All right. Similar effects, you might hold a little more water with the anodril, but but okay.
SPEAKER_00But okay, so go ahead.
SPEAKER_04So you think I do think like when you're that close, you know, um, you gotta keep you gotta keep your foot to the floor, you know, you gotta keep pushing. And then, dude, then you have all the rest, and if you don't get it, you have all next year off, you have the whole rest of the year off.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_04But dude, the Olympia's common, dude. And he's and he's at this point where he can make a couple small improvements and really jump up a couple spots, you know, like he's right there.
SPEAKER_00If I were, I mean, I agree. I thought he was gonna do Texas because it looked like he could make some small changes and be right there, right? Now that he's not doing Texas, I didn't I haven't spoken to him. This is just my opinion. I really think that he should do like a show early in the year, like a New York Pro or Detroit.
SPEAKER_04And I think New York, dude, that'd be a good show for him.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04And New York loves the big guys, dude.
SPEAKER_00Oh, absolutely. They love the freaks, there's no question about it. And he's got good shape. Yeah, it's just that he was he was holding water.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Do you think here's the thing I I spoke to Dorian Haywood and Chris Masarrow on Monday. Now, all this new muscle on Joe is new, it's within the next last year or two that he's put on, especially he's put on 15 pounds in in one year. It is my opinion that it is a lot more difficult to figure out what your body has to do with all this new muscle to get leaner and harder, at least to be competitive and win a show. Right? They don't seem to agree with that. What's your take on it?
SPEAKER_04Um, so what do you mean? What's the question again?
SPEAKER_00So when when somebody puts on muscle really fast, like he did, he put on 15 pounds in one year. It seems to be difficult for these guys to figure out what to do and how to handle this new muscle and how to diet, and so on, so forth, and find the formula when they when they put on weight so fast.
SPEAKER_04So the one thing about putting on muscle so fast is that it's fast to come off, also. So the biggest trick is learning how to manipulate your diet where you don't shrink down too much because now you have all this added muscle. Because the more you suck down, that muscle you just put on, it's not mature enough to stand the test of time for a contest prep, right? So that's why they say the longer you do it, the more it becomes mature, the more it becomes you know it becomes mature muscle, it's more your yours where you're not going to lose it from overdieting in contest prep. And with that being said, if you put on 15 and you suck down a good amount, you know, you might preserve 10 of it. You might lose a third, right? But dude, 10 pounds on of stage weight. See, that's the difference of stage weight. That's a lot of muscle, dude. That's that's a lot of muscle in a year, you know. So um, I don't think it's I don't think it's hard. I think you just got to realize I gotta be careful in depleting too much and over dieting, you know, at that point. It's gonna get ripped and you're gonna lose a little bit. Um just just keep that in mind. And I don't I don't think it's as big of as an ordeal as as as right. Did he say he had did he say he had a hard time on it?
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, no. I would that's my opinion.
SPEAKER_04Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00Because anytime I see a bodybuilder put on muscle fast in within a year, year and a half, they always seem to have a hard time getting that lean, crisp, hard, dense look right away. Like it there's Joe, then there was Colossus Ken.
SPEAKER_04And that could be the case also because they have all this extra weight to think they need to hold on to it. You still got to diet the same way. Like, you know, so maybe it's not all muscle. They gained they be gained 30 pounds in the offseason, maybe 12 of it, you know, 18 of it's real hard-earned muscle, you know. So when they have all this new muscle, now they want to hold on to it. And that's the problem, is you can't be afraid to let some of it go because you're gonna lose a little muscle during contest prep. It's inevitable, you know. It happens to all of us, you know. So um, you just can't be afraid to do what you need to do. You can't not diet as hard because you have more muscle. Think, oh, I need all these extra calories or carbs or fat because I have all this hard muscle. You still got to prepare the same way, just increase your protein a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Okay, well, thank you very much, sir. Yeah, I believe he was well over 300 pounds and on stage he was about 260.
SPEAKER_03It's a lot of weight, dude.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so that he will lost between 40 and 50 pounds in prepping for this show.
SPEAKER_04But all right, but that happens. Yeah, that's not uncommon, right?
SPEAKER_00Right, right, right. I'm sure he'll be he'll be fine next year. He really he'll be fine. I mean, seriously, like these guys when's Texas this weekend.
SPEAKER_03Oh, it's this week. Oh, so long this weekend the big names uh so it's too late, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, this weekend the big names uh Regan and uh Patrick uh Patrick Moore, right? That's it.
SPEAKER_03What's coming up after that? There's a couple other qualified after that.
SPEAKER_00The only show left is the Austrian Oak in Austria. Let me see.
SPEAKER_04Actually, isn't there one like right before?
SPEAKER_00That that's it, and one Austrian is the last show before the Olympia. Okay, so the big names in this show are Regan, oh John Jewett's doing this show, Patrick Moore, Tim Budisham, Lewis Breed, Colossal Ken, and a bunch of other guys that I never heard of.
SPEAKER_04Ken's got a good physique.
SPEAKER_00Yes, he does. He's another one that put on a lot of muscles.
SPEAKER_04He's gotta get ripped. He's gotta get ripped.
SPEAKER_00He put on again. That guy put on a lot of muscle in the last year or two. What happened to Carlos? I don't know, he just fell off the map. Yeah, you know, bodybuilding has a a lot, bodybuilding has a short memory. You don't compete for six months to a year, bodybuilding forgets about you. Yeah, um, I mean, look at nobody's even talking about Regan Grimes and he's doing the Olympia. Yeah, not Regan Grimes. I'm sorry, I apologize. Uh, who am I thinking of? Brent, Brent Wilkins. That's who I'm thinking of. Brent is uh yeah, and and he nobody's even talking about him. I don't know why that happens in bodybuilding, where like you like bodybuilding world has been like, there's so much dude.
SPEAKER_04There's so much, you know. It's just you see what you see every day, and you're you're hot for one day, and the next day it's somebody else.
SPEAKER_00It's like right, right, right. It's just uh it's I I've seen it really bad and bodybuilding really bad, you know. Justin Rodriguez tried to compete last week, that didn't work out so well for him. But whatever. I mean, we we've been saying that it's time for him for a while, but to each his own.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00All right, big J, thank you very much. Remember, guys, I prevail subs discount code SNS10. Link is in the description, and we will see you guys next week. Yes, sir. All right, have a good night, man. You too, be safe. Later.
