Canes. We're live. I skipped the 30 seconds. Oh my god, you need to ramble. What was that, Chris? What what did you have instead of KFC in Alaska?
SPEAKER_05But it was like it's like a knockoff fried chicken place. It's not good.
SPEAKER_02You would think that in like 2026, because there's a place that's so far away, like Alaska, it wouldn't be a problem to have like chain restaurants. I know I sent you a shirt up there, it never got to you. You would think it wouldn't be an issue. It's still a fucking issue.
SPEAKER_05Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's still a problem.
SPEAKER_05That's why like my my people who order from like any of the supplement companies I've ever worked with in Alaska, it's like they get a ton of orders the first month, and then they get it uh the next month, and then there's like no orders, then there's another another month. It takes like four weeks to get anything up there.
SPEAKER_02Fucking Alaska. Ain't this a bitch? Uh all right. How are you liking the uh the Star Wars? The Star Wars radio.
SPEAKER_04Good, very good, very good. I got another Iron Man helmet the other day, another black one.
SPEAKER_02Oh what's with all the black helmets? I don't know, just showing I'm not racist. What's the name of the helmet? Leroy.
SPEAKER_04If you want a good reading, you can buy this book on Amazon, believe in yourself. Oh, wow. Controversial and blunt Lee Priest is known for speaking his mind in this autobiography, Lee Does Just Set.
SPEAKER_02That's badass. All right. Well, I will uh since we're plugging stuff, we shall start with chapter one.
SPEAKER_01Sit back and relax, boys. It's gonna be a long channel.
SPEAKER_02I am having the on my other channel. If anybody's interested in a lot of true crime and whatnot, especially like organized crime and biker culture and whatnot, I'm having the author of this book. The book is Vagos, Mongols, and Outlaws, My Infiltration of America's Deadliest Biker Gangs. So apparently, this one guy who was a big-time drug dealer got arrested, and he used to work for the uh he used to work for the uh I guess Russian mafia, eastern European gangsters, and he used to sell meth, make and sell meth. So they arrested him, and he was looking at 22 years, and they said, You got two choices. You either do the 22 years without parole, or you help us uh infiltrate the three three of the five biggest biker clubs in the world. And he's like, I'll go with choice B. And he actually infiltrated the Vagos, the Mongols, and Outlaws, and uh and actually brought down like dozens of people. So the girls.
SPEAKER_04That would have been a dicey job looking over your shoulder doing that.
SPEAKER_02Unbelievable.
SPEAKER_05What was the guy they made the movie after with Johnny Depp? Uh, who who you like worked for the Johnny Breska was it? Johnny Braska. Johnny Bresca. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02He's still doing interviews. He was on uh Michael Frances' channel. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Well, my book, my book starts in the beginning, God said, That's the wrong book. Uh this one actually starts off. The first word in it is fat boy Joe Gold acknowledged as I entered the gym. Morning, Joe. I said. If Joe liked you, that's where it goes on. To see the rest, you gotta buy the book.
SPEAKER_02Okay, where do you buy it?
SPEAKER_04Amazon.
SPEAKER_01Uh what's the name of it again? Believe in yourself. Oh, very good. Very deep. Believe in yourself by Lee Priest.
SPEAKER_04Believe in yourself, you fucking losers, and go buy the book.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. You should have said believe in yourself, cunt. That would have been better. Yeah, that was exactly.
SPEAKER_04Actually, I was gonna call it a book like Don't Be a Cunt. Don't be a cunt.
SPEAKER_05That would have been awesome.
SPEAKER_04I could do a I could do a follow-up, just Lee's facts of life. Don't be a cunt, Lee's facts on how to get through life. Just don't be a cunt. Um I was I was gonna do a uh how to gain weight book and how to diet book, you know, and like pre do like pre-sales of like $3.99. And when it says how to lose weight, it's just one page. Stop eating.
SPEAKER_02That's it. It's true now, it's true. It was like, what more do you want? Yeah. All right. Let's uh let's jump into a little bit of bodybuilding. So Brion, let's start with Brion.
SPEAKER_04Oh, you know, start with your mate, Larry. I thought you were straight to Larry.
SPEAKER_02We're gonna get to him, but uh we'll we'll do that after. Because Brion, I don't know. Brion is uh I'm I was I was very underwhelmed of Brion's performance. Uh he he does he he decided that he was getting out of classic, doing 212. He wins his 212 debut, and now he's going to 212 Olympia. It was really a weak 212 lineup, severely weak. And uh he's gonna get buried at the 212 Olympia. Um, he's the type of guy I I would really I mean, I look, you could do what you want, but at this point he is a former uh classic physique Olympian. Uh I I I would bow out with some grace at this point because he's gonna get buried at the 212 Olympia. I hope after this year he's like, okay, I kind of did it all. We're done here. What do you think, Lee? I mean, I I here's a I know the argument. The argument is gonna be as well if he's healthy and he likes doing it, I'll go right ahead. But a guy who's a champion and then he's just falling, you know, and and as far as I'm concerned, him going with the classic physique and jumping to 212, it it shows a little bit of desperation. Like, oh man, I can't hold my own in the one I was I was champion at. Let me what do you think, Lee?
SPEAKER_04Well, it's probably harder in the classic because you you know, even though they got the weight up against the taller guys, and I know they don't like that, you know, because Steven him and the other guy, um Rough Diesel always look great, but sometimes because of the height they get penalized for some reason. When I think Rough looks fucking fantastic, you know, overall symmetry and size. So it's gonna be hard because he looks great for classic, but I don't think you know, when he's gonna go up against Keon and that guy from China, is it Mi Wei or whatever his name is, and some of the other guys there, I don't think he's gonna be able to hold his own match-wise. Like, you know, shape wise, yes, but you know, you're gonna have to do a bit because even that guy who I said should go open, that young kid at 22 doing classic, I think would beat him. So it's like, you know, yeah, it's sorry.
SPEAKER_02I think he's gonna get buried. I mean, I would be surprised if he breaks the top 10 at the uh 212 Olympia. What do you think, Chris?
SPEAKER_05I mean, I I was just looking at his pictures again. I mean, I like the way he looks, but yeah, I don't know how how tall is he? Is he is he short? I've ever I've actually never met Brian in person.
SPEAKER_04I think he's only 5'6, is he? Around 5'6 or so, five.
SPEAKER_05It doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_04I think he's much taller, much taller than that. Five maybe five'8 with the afro.
SPEAKER_05I wonder how uh close he was to weight, because he was lean, but like I'm looking at his picture, I'm looking at right before. I think he could have lost more, like and really come in shredded. And and that's like one of the things about 212 is those guys are always so shredded to make weight, you know, and classic. So I think he's still got more room to grow. It from you know, just guessing.
SPEAKER_02No, I I agree. The thing is, is he he's in his 40s. I know, yeah. You know, that's the that's the biggest problem. He's 5'7. Um and now you gotta go up against Keon, and you gotta go up against Clarita, and you gotta go up against that kid knee hot, and you gotta go up against uh that guy knee hot's crazy. I know. I mean, it's just unbelievable. Uh Xavier, I sent you the link if you want to join us.
SPEAKER_04He said he's got like a flu. What an excuse, Xavier. I was turning over in bed last night, and I somehow pulled my lower ab trying to not wake the cat up. I twisted my upper body, my legs are here, so I twisted my upper body to try and move. Oh my god, it feels like I've got the worst beast thing on my lower ab. I'm sure I've just slightly pulled or torn my lower ab in bed. That's what it's come to, fellas. Gets a hurting.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, probably you're a mess, Lee. Um, I think if I was uh if I was Brian, I mean it's gotta be. I understand the life of an athlete is gotta be difficult, especially an athlete who is at the top of the game for such a long time. And and then age starts catching up with you, and new blood comes in, and the standards are different, and now you're at the bottom of that pile that you used to dominate. I understand that it's very difficult to give up, but sooner or later it's you gotta come to terms with it. You know, you gotta come to terms with it, and you have to make a transition, and you gotta make a positive transition, you gotta figure out what the next stage of your life is gonna be. I mean, uh, the two people that I always obviously Lee, Lee is doing great with uh look at me. I'm a fucking well, that's what I'm saying. I mean, Lee Lee is uh doing fantastic with appearances, I was being I was being facetious, like I forgot. I mean, you made this you made this, you know, Jason Owens, too. It was you know, okay, I'm my my career is done as a bodybuilder, but it's not I'm not done. And he started his, you know, he he uh has children and he has a beautiful life, and he started his supplement company. Yeah, you know, and Chris is on the opposite end. Chris is just getting started with his career in bodybuilding, and you know, it's a promising future.
SPEAKER_04It is it is it is scary because like even when because I've been approached a few times to do my own supplement line. I did one in Australia a long time ago, but the guy ripped me off. So even when Sid and like Nutrific come to me and ask me to do it, because you know, my bodybuilding competing was over, so it ended with a car crash. I didn't get to finish on my term, so that did suck for a few years. I'm like, fuck, it would have been nice to retire, but you've just got to reinvent yourself, and then like I said, touch wood, the supplements have been going great. We've only had them been going for what six months, and they just got uh just got all sold out again. So it's like when you put your name to something that's uh yeah, yeah, sold out again.
SPEAKER_05I'm pretty sure Brion Axe he's done a bunch of acting and commercials and movies and stuff. So yeah, so like I I think he's I think he's got some money coming in from that, probably from like you know, the residual.
SPEAKER_04You could always dwell back on what you used to do, but you gotta sort of start reinventing yourself. And I think sometimes when you've been doing this for so long, it is scary because you think, okay, I've got to take a risk if I go out with my own supplement line or this or that. You always got that. Am I gonna fail? Is no one gonna buy the subs? Am I gonna so it is a bit scary when you think, especially when you say, because me competing, that's all I did from the age of 13. So for me, it was like, fuck, what else do I do after this type thing, you know? That's all I ever did.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like I'm uh Chris, maybe you're right. Maybe he is throwing himself into acting. Um, but I would I there's a lot of money and there's a lot of opportunity in the fitness bodybuilding world, and I get that he could go into and do things like what Lee does and make a good living doing it.
SPEAKER_05I I'll say I'll say this living-wise, like I mean, at least at least he still looks young. Like he's got a very young looking physique still. So you know, like, so I I'll give him the fact that you know, just being the devil's advocate, he still looks young. He doesn't look all like whittled away and like skinny legs or anything.
SPEAKER_02So he's not right, right.
SPEAKER_05If he's just doing it because he's trying to stay relevant and have fun, then it's like do whatever you want, you know. But yeah, I mean, like I said, at least I know he's uh from listening to him on a podcast, I'm pretty sure he still makes money from acting and stuff, but there's there's so many ways to make money now, you know, in the sports social media and stuff.
SPEAKER_02Uh absolutely. I just think um and like again, I know it's hard, but there is there are ways to go about life with dignity and grace.
SPEAKER_04He could go into arm wrestling, sumo wrestling, maybe anime just saying it's there's a few aren't just just thinking at the top of my head right now.
SPEAKER_02Uh which which goes into my which is the perfect transition to the next topic. Actually, it's the perfect transition for the next two topics, but let's go to Larry Wheels. What I don't what is he do? What is he doing?
SPEAKER_04Hey, his biceps match now. Hey, his biceps match.
SPEAKER_02So first of all, I thought he was gonna do MMA, then he wasn't doing it. Now he decided to go into boxing. I don't uh what are you like? I did anybody this is there anybody in his life that goes, Larry, what are you doing? What's going on? Do you do you just have to stay relevant all the time with doing this stupid shit? I it's it's it's at the point where should we send a limited predictions?
SPEAKER_04Let's take predictions on what will Larry do next.
SPEAKER_02That's unbelievable. I don't I don't fucking it's uh it's like dude, you here is a guy that was a phenom in powerlifting. When he first came onto the scene, everybody was like flawed with the his power and his and and his the breaking the world records, and he just has become pathetic at this point. I don't I don't understand what is it I I have a theory. I think that being relevant on social media is an addiction for him, and he will do anything and try anything, including make a mockery of his own marriage as he's done in the past, and and and unintentionally, intentionally let it slip out to the public, right? Uh you know, Johnny Bravo had a field day with that. And then I actually did a video and I said I said that. I was like, this is an addiction, so he could stay relevant and he does these stupid things. And I said, I will be proven right if he goes into a new endeavor that's even more ridiculous, and he's done it like several times since I made that video. I I don't know, Chris. I just it's just to me, it's like the guy has just become pathetic and uh uh he he's a clown at this point.
SPEAKER_05I think I think that's exactly that's exactly what he is. He's just kind of like clowning and doing the most random thing. Like I remember at the uh at the Arnold, like the the line to to meet him was crazy. Insane, like I looked over, like I don't want to sound like anything, but I've never really waited in line for anybody. I was like, oh, it's just another person, you know, we'll meet one day. But and it's he didn't look like he was happy to meet anybody. I mean, maybe he was, I don't know, but it looked like he was born out of the car.
SPEAKER_02Well, that you know, the last appearance he did, he had a video that was in the car, and he was he was uh it was uh I don't remember exactly if chat you guys could help me out. I don't remember the appearance, but there was video of the car, and it there were I think there were a Native American establishment.
SPEAKER_04You made fun of him, didn't you make fun of the Indians or where the driver was?
SPEAKER_02You could see in the car ride when he had the video footage going, and I don't understand why you would make yourself do why you would go and put that video footage out. He was making fun of the women, the part the the community, whatever he thought of it, but he was getting paid to do an appearance there, and you could tell that he did not want to be there. Anyone who is just shitting on the fucking people that he's about to go meet and entertain and then releases the video, you could tell that he just did not, and that's his reputation. Every time he does an appearance, the rumor is always he is not pleasant to meet. I mean, I was we me and Lee were in Nashville, and there were people coming over to us saying how he was not pleasant to meet. Now, when Sergio came on, Sergio gave him the benefit of the doubt. Sergio Oliva Jr. gave him the benefit of the doubt because he was going through a divorce. But it just continues to be the same rumor that he is not fun to be already, he is not and he is not happy to be doing these events. I I I just don't I don't get it.
SPEAKER_05I think there's a big difference between I don't I I always see Lee's always been from what I've seen, like he's always been super pleasant with a million people coming to say hi.
SPEAKER_04I think it's and I've always got shit, you know, there's been times I've had shit going on too at Expos, even though I've been competing and I've stood there with people and I'm hungry and stuff. But even then, I've had shit, I've had fights with ex-wives and girlfriends and been at expo, and in the back of my mind, I'm like, these fucking bitch. Then someone comes over. Hi, how are you going? Oh, great to meet you. Oh, yeah, keep up the training. So you can't put that shit on the fans when they come. You can be having a bad day. Look, we all do, but if you're there to do a job and meet people, you're nice to them. If you're if you're having that bad of a day, look, just tell the people, look, I need half an hour to myself. Go away, clear your and be nice to the people. Do what you're getting paid for, otherwise don't fucking be there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's just you know, you you gotta be. I I understand that Larry Wills was very became very successful early on, but so was Lee. Lee was very successful early in his life. So I understand that uh you take advantage of it a little bit. Lee didn't, he's an exception to the rule. I understand that Larry Wills probably takes advantage of the fact that he was so successful early on in his early 20s, and what and people just always want to meet him, excuse me, and go out of his way, go out of their way to meet him, and then it becomes like you take it for granted.
SPEAKER_04But it's no it's no excuse because people it goes as it goes as quick as it comes, and they forget that you know, once they're there, they think they think it's gonna be there forever. But as quick as you got there, you can fucking go down. And trust me, with the internet now, and like I said, you have a bad day and talk shit to someone or mistreat someone, and you know, word gets out, it goes a lot quicker these days, you know, you'll fucking stock and just drop 100% right.
SPEAKER_02And it's not even if you do anything wrong. A year ago, a year ago from now, we were talking about the trend twins. Nobody's talking about the trend twins anymore. A year ago, we were talking about they had a crazy line too.
SPEAKER_05What they had a crazy line too with the Olympia, isn't it?
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. Um, a year ago we were talking about Diamond Gym and Hottie and the most dangerous gym in the world, and now we don't talk about them anymore. And it's just the life of social media, and you have to be able to take that part of it that you have to and and capitalize on it, right? Uh Larry, I think, understands that, but at the same time, I don't think he I don't think he realizes how ridiculous he sounds.
SPEAKER_04And I think the best way to capitalize on it is what I've always done. Yes, you're gonna have people like you and hate you, but I've always told people just be yourself, just be genuine, be true, be who you are, don't try and do shit that you wouldn't normally do just for likes or do outlandish shit or try crazy shit, because if you do something crazy the next time you've got to up it again and up it again. If you don't get getting crazier and crazier, they're like, Oh, you're boring now, you don't do anything. So it's like if Larry had a stuck taught he was good at the power lifting and stuff and kept along those lines and just put out content being himself, it'd be a lot different. So I think it's just the main thing I always tell people if you're gonna make it in this thing, just be true to yourself and be who you are. Like I said, people are gonna like you or hate you, but don't be fake because people pick up on the fake shit pretty quick.
SPEAKER_02They'll see right through it, man. They'll see what reminds me of.
SPEAKER_05Do you remember like Colin von Moger back in the day? Like he was like the biggest thing, and then started doing all the weird shit, and then now it's I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Now nobody he dis he literally disappeared into thin air, you know.
SPEAKER_05I'm just happy if someone comes and says hi, they're like, Yeah, watch your podcast.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, if anybody recognized when I was in Nashville with Lee, I think there were three people, I think three that recognized me, and I was like ecstatic, and they're like police.
SPEAKER_05One was from Grinder. We've been looking for you, John.
SPEAKER_02What am I gonna do? Um, but anyway, so let's let's move on to the next topic. Because what is it with with bodybuilders that lose and then they have a shit fit on stage? Why is this why is this happening?
SPEAKER_04Is that Michael Tomaca Deboo?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like you uh Martin, then uh then.
SPEAKER_04I didn't actually know who that was. When I saw it, I thought it was like one of those occasionally you see it in India or somewhere, someone just loses their shit on stage and kicks the trophy. I didn't think it was somebody of his caliber going off. I'm thinking, I just understand in the heat of the moment you can be like that, but he's been around long enough and competing long enough in the professional ranks to hold that shit in, even though as much as you might get a bit upsetting, but that was like a bit of a big outburst.
SPEAKER_05Anybody could speak on Ezley. Like, I know that you've gotten fucked in some shows before. And I'd always just smile.
SPEAKER_04Even if I even know about you or got screwed a bit, I'll just smile because the crowd to me, the crowd and the fans do the talking for you. Just let them talk for you, let them scream out and do whatever, just smile. Just say thank you. That's all you can do because, like I said, it's a no-win situation. If you even if you just sort of went and you and you thought you should have won getting sick, and people are gonna go, look at that. That's disrespectful to the winner. It's like you can't do anything, just smile.
SPEAKER_05Do you remember when they booed when Flex Wheeler got like second or third, and he just went like this? He was like, No, no, no, like I'm happy. Yeah, like I remember that like specific show. Like that was class right there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the the sign, the sign of a well-balanced, well-adjusted man is the fact that he could control his emotions. Yeah, you know, and uh what I don't understand is here here's here's what I don't get. You came in third in a bodybuilding show. You're one of the you're still one of the best guys in classic physique. Martin Fitzwater, same thing. Charles Griffin, same thing, same thing. What are you gonna to me that that screams what are you gonna do when something really terrible happens?
SPEAKER_04But I think it like coming in third, it wasn't like you were second. I used to compete now. What show did I win? I forget who it was, and somebody they were fourth or fifth, and they're like, I should have fucking beat Lee. This is I'm thinking you were fourth, I won. What about the guy that was in second, third, and next? You've got to beat them before you fucking get to me. So why are you mad at me? There's other people in between us you gotta beat as well. So why are you fucking pissed off at me for?
SPEAKER_02I just I just I just said I don't understand, like shit in life is going to happen, and you have to be able to deal with it. What happens when a relative dies? What happens if you like okay, like Jason Arnes, right? You know, he was he had a a rare blood cancer that he's fighting currently, and he is holding it down like nobody's business for his family and for himself, like shit is always gonna happen. It's around the corner every day, and you're gonna lose your shit. And the same thing with Charles Griffin. You're gonna lose your shit because you didn't beat Joe Palacio. It's not even that you didn't win the show because you thought you were better than Joe. It's like, what the what are you freaking out over? Like, take the I understand that you you might feel terrible, but put a smile on your face, go out with grace, and then fucking behind closed doors, do what you gotta do. But honestly, you have to be able to fucking deal with life.
SPEAKER_04And it's just even behind closed doors now. I generally laugh when shit happens. I just go, of course. I'm just like, whatever. I just start laughing there because I'm I'm too old now to get mad. I just go, okay, thank if there's a god, I'm like, okay, thanks, God, testing me out again. And I I just have a laugh and go, what's the point getting in? I used to break shit when I was younger, you know, put my foot through a fucking copy machine and stuff. And as soon as I did all like, I feel better, but fuck now. I've got to go buy a new one. Every time I broke something, I'm like, I've got to buy a new one.
SPEAKER_00I've done that with a with an uh uh of argument with an ex-girlfriend, like the first girlfriend.
SPEAKER_04I didn't have the TV once. I threw a remote of a big screen TV crack, and I'm like, I feel better, but now I'm gonna get it's like just one of those smashing rooms. You should all go into those smashing rooms and just smash the shit out of stuff.
SPEAKER_02Chris, being in the military, I mean, um what do you think of my opinion? Because I would think that in the military, the guys that are the ones that are uh good soldiers are the ones that can hold it together.
SPEAKER_05Oh man, I I remember seeing guys who like deserve to get smoked and they would just say like no, or they'd like bitch and moan, just like, shut up, dude. Just do your push-ups and shut up, you know. I don't know. I just I just laughed it off. I remember like when I when I lost the USA overall and they said Chris and then not my last name. I started walking out, I was like, Oh fuck, I have to leave myself because it was Chris Knox, not Chris. I was like, Oh shit, I'm gonna get off stage. But like, you know, and then you know, there's the people that come over, like, oh, you should have won. That's very nice of you, thank you. You know, but like whoever won one, that's it. Doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you know. Listen, I remember um uh I did one show on the NPC and I got fifth in the open, and I didn't think I deserved anybody. I did not hit anybody, you should have. I didn't freak out, you know. After I left the show, I was you should have got first.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you didn't sit on a rooftop and snipe at people walking down the street.
SPEAKER_05Throw shit at them.
SPEAKER_02You know, but it you know, you gotta you gotta remember, look, it's just a fucking it's the Brooklyn Grand Prix, relax, it's not the end of the world. Yeah, they look better.
SPEAKER_04That's how I was the next day after shows too, because people come up to me the next day and they go, Oh Lee, sorry about the show. I'm like, mate, that was like if I was at the gym Monday, I'd be like, that was Saturday, that's history. I fucking that's two days ago. I've moved on, it's a new day. Who gives a shit?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and look how good you're doing now. You know, it's like just from being yourself, like you said before.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, look, it's just yeah, I I I hate seeing grown men cry in pub public. I hate seeing grown men have a hissy fit in public because I was just, you know, my father was my father was like stone cold. My my father was like, he didn't show any emotion. And and that's what I learned. It was like, you know, you don't you you just don't you you you hold it together, you hold it together for yourself and you hold it together for the people that you support around you. And it's just like it's just happened up.
SPEAKER_05About other sports though, like baseball or something, you could like get struck out and it should have been a ball or something. Then the coach comes out and he gets thrown out for you. Wish we had that in bodybuilding. Have your coach walk up on stage and get mad for you, and then he gets thrown out by the judges.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, a SEDO comes out and starts fucking freaking out. Alan actually.
SPEAKER_05My dad used to purposely get thrown out for us.
SPEAKER_04Chapter 13 is about amazing bodybuilder, rank human being, and it starts off. Sean Ray is a very good bodybuilder. His posing and presentation, always impressive. The record of his pleasing, blah blah blah. However, you dana was a however coming, it says Sean's face is brown, not only because he's African American, but because he is the biggest ass kisser in the history of this book. What a great read this book is, I think.
SPEAKER_05I just I just got into it with him like two weeks ago. I'm like, come on, man. Oh, with Sean, did you? Yeah, because he was he was saying that Nick Walker only looked good because of the lighting in Tampa. I'm like, come on, bro. Did he really say that? Yeah, man. Was that with him?
SPEAKER_04That's the one with him and Bob. Him and Bob wasn't it, The Voice of the Bunny building.
SPEAKER_05Oh, you only look good because that lighting. I wouldn't look good under that lighting. I'm like, no, you wouldn't. That's so stupid.
SPEAKER_02Before we continue, let's let's just uh Lee Sunday I slept in, and every time I sleep in on a Sunday, because I'm normally up at 5 30. Uh and it just kills me. I I really got to guess get up. Like if I don't have anything to do on a Sunday, I just have to get up because if I sleep in a couple of hours, then I get lazy, and then I had a have a half a scoop of crucifix to get me fucking going. Then you're going though, half a scoop and you're going. Oh, yeah, you're certainly going. And what'd you say? They've already sold out of it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I just saw um thing they just said they they just put all that new order in. Remember, it was back in stock and now it's all gone again, so they've got to order quite a few thousand more units.
SPEAKER_02Well, that there you go, there's your answer. So if uh go on and pre-order it, okay? Because if it's selling up that fast, then it's obviously that fucking good.
SPEAKER_04Now it's a guy just did a great review for it too that I posted. It was on Facebook and somewhere on my Instagram. A guy just randomly did a thing for it as a taste. He rated it from you know eight out of ten for the taste on the sour watermelon, but then he took it and described, he read the label. He yeah, Rocket Pop's the best, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, I got Prodigy Pop. I like that. I like that one.
SPEAKER_05Is it true that before the episode, John, you're rubbing it on your teeth to get you going before the episode? Yeah, absolutely. Very strong.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I did a couple of bumps. Uh strong. Go on Nutrifit, N-U-T-R-I-F-I-T-T.com. Discount code priest, pre-order, get yourself 20% off. They also have this.
SPEAKER_04I realize I'll have to give you a get you a tub if you be at the Olympia, Chris. I'll give you some to try.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, definitely. Absolutely. You gotta give Chris some. Uh Kroba is another one, is another pre-workout from Nutrifit, which I like a lot. It's not as this is the one I use. This is the one I use after work. Because after work, I'm alright, like I'm already ready to go after work. So I just kind of drink this after work. It's not nearly as strong, but it's more like, okay, I drank it, I gotta go. And this tastes pretty good, too. What happened? Is Kroba non-STEM? It's light, it's light stim. It's it's light. I think that's 200 milligrams of caffeine, something like that. Um, and you go discount code priest, P-R-I-E-S-T. If you buy crucifix and another product of NutriFit, then you will get 30% off if you use a discount code. The other one is uh I told you last week I switched, right? So the other two, yeah. Vintage muscle, and um not for nothing. The pumps have been insane. My pumps have been insane. Like literally one set. I did arms on Friday, I don't remember, Friday or Saturday. And one set, I was like, holy shit, I already fucking feel the pump. And and I think these two are better than the the other one, the other two. I I was using which one you're taking now? The the Uranbol and the Echo Mass.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02The only thing with the Echo Mass is it's kind of uh shake it, you gotta shake it. Well, yeah, you gotta shake it, but it fucking really stings. It's like yeah, it's good. It's like a strong alcohol or something wow, it really is strong going down, but you know, you really can't do a little salt and lime. You know what? You know what I fucking this is this is podcast. I gotta look it up. I forgot the name of it. Um all they do is like that's vintage muscle, by the way. But anyway, all they do is like eat disgusting things. Oh, Lee, I think I did. I send it to you. Um, I'll send it to you, Lee. All they do is eat disgusting things, and they did this one thing where they took a shot of vodka. It was three-quarters of a shot of vodka and a quarter of soy sauce. Yeah, and it's just like basically drinking soy sauce. And the guy like basically like gagged and threw up after that.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna say you gotta, you're almost like uh even when I drink vodka shots, I gotta not breathe because I hate the taste of alcohol. I gotta swallow without breathing, then wash it down with Coca-Cola or orange juice, so I don't sniff it.
SPEAKER_05If I smell I'm like, the worst for me is uh IPAs, man. People like talking, oh I have this IPA. I'm like, Chris, do you have uh TikTok? Uh no, I started, I didn't really really care for it.
SPEAKER_04I got I got it, but I still don't use it because I occasionally go on or see John's things pop up and I'll reshare them, but I don't know really how to use TikTok.
SPEAKER_02I just I just uh I just two guys and they they they drink or eat the most disgusting things ever fucking and it's just they can't even get past it.
SPEAKER_05They're puking, they're throwing up did you guys did you guys ever see that show, The Challenge back in the day? The challenge was on M T V. So like they'd like go jump off cliffs and have to like do all these challenges. One of them they'd have to eat like nasty shit and then go and like run a mile, and it was terrible. But I remember it was like fear factor. It's like Fear Factor, but they gotta do like stunts for like I don't know, it's like three months long, but it's horrible.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. All right, so what did we think about the Austria Austria oak? I think uh Yeah, it was unimpressive. Uh Regan Regan deserved a win. Yeah. But the thing is when Joan first comes out, he looked good. When he first comes out, you're like, whoa, he's got that. But then he turns around and you're like, fuck. He turns around and you're like, ah, I can see where he's losing it. He's losing it from the back. Where Regan is just very balanced, but uh Joan has a big time wow factor. And that other guy that was it, the Polish guy that came out, yeah. You know, he just needs a little bit more size because he's uh very tall. I think he's 6'2 or something like that. But I was underwhelmed. What do you think? What do you think, Chris? Well, how do you think Regan's gonna do? You think he's gonna break the top 10?
SPEAKER_05Uh Regan's one of those guys, like you never know because he's got such good shape, but like, but I mean it's a pretty freaking stacked lineup, man. And there's and there's a lot of guys who's who've already beat him in that lineup, you know. Um, and there's guys in that lineup that may not even make the top 10 that have beat him, too.
SPEAKER_01You know, right.
SPEAKER_05So like uh I think it's gonna be very, very tough if those guys are on. And that's just me being honest, even though I really like his physique.
SPEAKER_02What do you think, Lee?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's hard with Regan. If he's on, he's on, but you know, it's like most people, if they're on, they're on. But Regan's just never really been consistent, you know. Plus, because he never does that many shows a year when he does do some shows. He might do one or two at the most, generally just one. So he never seems to really hit his mark just doing one. This time he's done what this was his third show, so he's finally getting a little bit tighter each show. So I just think Regan next year, you know, I'd like to see him do more shows and he's got enough size and stuff, it's just a conditioning thing with him. So next year I'd really like to see him compete more and actually nail that conditioning, and he could do really well. I think if he nails his conditioning well, he can get the top ten, yes. But the top ten this year, I think, is gonna be fairly hard if you're not on. If you're not on, they're getting to get in the top six or the top seven-ish, eight-ish. If you're not, if you're not on, you're not gonna make that if everyone else is on.
SPEAKER_02This this this Olympia is not no fucking joke, it's gonna be stacked. The other thing is Regan's career kind of reminds me of Kuklo's career. Like when Ku Klu first came out, he looked, everybody was like, Wow, this kid's gonna be great, but it's kind of like it hits like a stagnant point where he's just he just seems uh happy to be good enough. And I I mean it's a little bit different because he has almost two million followers on Instagram. Don't ask me why, I don't think he's anything really I don't understand. I I'll never be able to put my foot on it how somebody has such a huge following and like he's like what we said, he's not anything exciting.
SPEAKER_04I mean, uh I think it's like what we said. I think he's just if you look at Regan, he's just himself, he doesn't try to be anything or put anything on, he just does almost like the Sam Sirlek type effect. He just records himself, he's just himself, and if you like people follow, so I think they get more likes than they do haters just being themselves and not really trying to push a certain narrative in any direction.
SPEAKER_05I think Regan also he's got one of those physiques that like in reality it's not attainable because he's actually very, very big. But like I think people look at him like he has somewhat of like an attainable physique, or like a physique that most guys would like to have with the small waist, their nice aesthetics, great lines, you know. And he's someone like for me, like I, you know, I was a fan of him since he did like classic and stuff back in the day. And it's like he's one of those guys I always just wanted to see him a little bit sharper. I just wanted to see him a little better because I I know he he could look phenomenal. Like he does look phenomenal, but like I think he's still like 90%, 85%. That's what I think he's like. Like I think he won 85.
SPEAKER_02I I agree, Chris. That's why I compared him to Ku Klo. Because it was like uh also such a nice guy. I don't yeah, uh I'm not saying that you know they're bad people or anything like that. I'm not saying they're a shit bodybuilder. I think there are bodybuilders that either A, their full potential, their genetic full potential is that of a Ku Klo or a Regan Grimes, or B, they're happy with the potential that they've that they've attained, and it's it's good enough. Like uh then you have like because then you have certain bodybuilders like a Hottie Chupin or a Samson where it's like, yo, I'm going to be the best, period. I'll how I'll do whatever it takes to make it, to do it. And we've seen these incredible improvements with Hottie Chupin throughout his career, with Andrew Jack throughout his career, with Samson Dowder, with Derek, and it's just uh Nick. And these are the guys that really put it all on the line. And I think there is an element of bodybuilders that are like, especially that he has a family and he probably has no money problems being with his social media following. You know, this is good enough. I'm good. You know, I'm good, I'm putting my work in, I'm winning some shows, I get to the Olympia, I'm good.
SPEAKER_05And he's not old, he's only like my age. I think we're the same age. So like early 30s. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I think that I and I think that's very okay too. That there's like that there really is levels to the to the Olympics. You know, like that that top five is like that's like a separate place.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. It always has been. Yeah, it always has been. To get to the top five, I mean, the difference between number 10 and number six at the Olympia is night and fucking day. And I, you know, people who don't follow the sport don't understand always 33 according to uh Farrus. Thank you, Farrus. Um, they don't uh people who don't understand the sport don't uh you know don't get like I I've showed people at work, regular people, Mike Crizzo, and they go, uh and they go, who is he? Oh he must be Mr. Olympia, he must be the best in the world. And they usually say stupid things like Mr. Universe because they don't know of the sport. And I go, no, he's not even close. Nothing wrong with Mr. Universe. Come on, yeah, that's right. There's nothing wrong with Mr. Universe, but um, I'm like, no, he's not even close, you know. And it seems it seems minor to them, but the people that are hardcore fans like us, we we know the difference, and it's that's always the way it's been. The top five in the Olympia has always been just a an elite of the elite.
SPEAKER_04I actually think I was the 66th person to win the Mr. Universe overall. 66? Are you serious? I think so. If you look at the list back in the day of NABA, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and all that maybe I was 66. Has it been going that long? Because it's been going since the 70s or 60s, hasn't it? The universe is NABA still around? Yeah, it's pretty big in Europe still coming back, you know.
SPEAKER_02Because I know they have the IFB, what is it?
SPEAKER_05There's another IFB or MBC Worldwide or whatever, isn't that what it is?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, MBC Worldwide. I think they got that in Australia. Tony does it here where they made it worldwide, the MPC.
SPEAKER_02It used to just be America, but I think on the NABA thing of Universe Winners, I was MA66 or I don't know, but I know there's the I I know guys like uh Crizzo and I forgot who else did the IFBB.
SPEAKER_04What was the I guess the one yeah, the other one that um Santana runs, Santana, what's his name?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the uh IFBB Elite or some shit. Yeah, help me out. Rafael Santana.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he runs that one because they separated the elite and the pro whatever.
SPEAKER_02Right, right, right, right. And then and then these guys basically outgrow that one like a cryo and come over, come over to you know, the NFL, if you will.
SPEAKER_05Do you guys know how many people are actually qualified? Because I mean, just looking at it, like I'm just thinking of names, it's stacked adding them up there. Like, it's gonna be a good show even past 10th place, you know.
SPEAKER_02It's stacked, it's fucking stacked because we had all those shows after the Olympia last year that people won. One of it was that that Polish guy who just came in uh second. Um, and that's also how Martin um uh qualified because he won, I believe he won the Prague Pro last year, right after the Olympia. Then you had that big Russian dude that won.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah. Did you did you see my rant on the 212? It's been getting a lot popping up on Facebook everywhere, people sharing it. And it's like I said too, because these 212 guys come all them are going, without the 212, we'd have nowhere to go. We wouldn't be competitive. I said, Do you know how dumb that sounds? There's a lot of guys who compete in the Oprah who'll never make top 10 at Del Impio, who'll never make top five at the Arnold or top six at Del Impio or ever win a pro show, but they don't fucking give up. They compete because they love competing, they keep going back, and who knows on any given day you can have a chance to win, even if you're I hate when they say second-tier pros and third-tier pros because you know most pros are pretty good. So in the open, these guys don't give up. But the two twelve comments are like we wouldn't compete, we wouldn't be able to make money. I'm thinking, fuck me dead, Labrada, Padilla, all these guys, Chris Dickerson, Frank Zane, Sean Ray, paved the way for you shorter guys to fucking be able to stand in the open. Fuck me dead. I've never had so many bitching little whining bastards fucking.
SPEAKER_02Here's that's actually a really good topic. I forgot about that. Yeah, I did see it to be honest with you. Here's the thing. Out of all the categories that we can get rid of, 212 would not be on my list. The first one I would get rid of is men's physique because that's not even bodybuilding.
SPEAKER_05It's from the way maker, though. It's such a moneymaker, John.
SPEAKER_02It's a moneymaker for the promoters in the NPC.
SPEAKER_05Well, guys love that.
SPEAKER_02The guys who just don't want to get a promoters in the NPC make a shit ton of money off men's physique because everybody who has a six-pack thinks they could do men's physique. It's always the biggest category. But once you get to the Olympia, the pro status, the Arnold, nobody gives a fuck about fucking men's physique. I can't even tell you who the men's physique Olympia is, you know.
SPEAKER_01Um tell me, tell me the top four of the top three the Olympia 212. No, uh well, that that I could tell you actually.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, the Eon, there's uh uh Claude. Lorita and uh was number four. I think that's the one. You just randomly put nines in. Um but anyway, I would love to see Neehawk. The other category I would get rid of is the Master Circuit. Nobody fucking uh watches the Master Circuit. Nobody, those would be the two first and foremost, I would consider getting rid of before 212. I mean, uh you know, I to me, bodybuilding is is a young man's sport. It is, and it's also men's physique is not bodybuilding, you can't just judge half your body, you know. You might as well do the fucking wheelchair category if that's the case.
SPEAKER_04Well, we're just making classes out of what we went through because when I was young, 13, 14, 15, I probably had a men's physique type body, and then I had a classic shaped body, then I got my big boy pants and become an open bodybuilder. So we all go through these stages. So I couldn't imagine myself getting to the point of a men's physique and say, This is it, I'm not gonna go any further when training, training, eating your body naturally wants to grow. I couldn't imagine holding myself back just to fit into a category to feel safe.
SPEAKER_02I don't know, Chris. What do you think? Because to me, those would be the two categories. If if we had to cut men's categories, those would be the two I would immediately consider.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I mean, like, I I want to say this about classic too, though. There's so many guys who I think are holding themselves back by staying classic that could be an open, but like I think this too, like when people say, Oh, well, Mike Somerfield doesn't look really classic, or you know, so it's like not classic physique, physique. No, no, I know, but I'm just looking at I'm just thinking about the classes, and I'm like, and I'm like, okay, so what is classic? What what era is classic to you? Is it 90s? Is it eighties, 70s? What's classic? Because you know, like uh, you know, like Dino and Mike, they don't look alike at all, you know. And Chris Chris Bum said, nobody really looked like Chris Bumps said ever, you know, so it's like its own thing. So I don't I hate I just don't like the name classic physique personally.
SPEAKER_04Back in the day, you know, people that but even to me, as freaky as he was, Paul Delette had great structure with a tiny waist, big shoulders and legs. So to me, he looked like he looked like a fucking freaky classic guy to me back in the day.
SPEAKER_02They were still um because we were talking about it in the gym, they were still fucking month, they were still bigger than classic physique guys. Oh, yeah, Kevin Lavron, they were bigger than the classic physique guy.
SPEAKER_05I just think back as like the guys who are classic probably wouldn't even fit in classic, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, they wouldn't make their height, they're winning or weight.
SPEAKER_02I just uh I honestly I would the the two off the top of my head, the master circuit, the master circuit. Dorian Haywood won a master show. He they they gave him 200. That was his number one. That was his that was his fucking job.
SPEAKER_04You'd be like, just keep it, wouldn't you? Give it to give it to a like with charity and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_02200 bucks, and that qualified him to do the Masters Olympia, which he went on to win, so it paid off.
SPEAKER_05But like an Olive Garden gift card.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, pretty much. I mean, it's just it's ridiculous. And and I know, like I said, I know physique and the NPC makes a ton of money for the promoters, uh, but once you get to a pro level, nobody fucking another 212 guys, but like a lot of people are like, we like the 212 because they come in shape.
SPEAKER_04And I'm like, yes, they do come in shape. That's why I believe the top 212 guys, if they're a little bit over and don't hold themselves back, the condition they come in, they can hold their own with the open guys, and it's been proven with the guys winning the Olympia, they were originally 212. So, you know, if you're good enough to be open.
SPEAKER_02Well, here's what I would like to say. I wouldn't like to see them get rid of 212. I would like them to uh have the open Olympia and the 212 Olympia battle it out for the Olympia title, uh like they did in the 70s with the 70s, that'd be cool. Yeah, that would be interesting to me.
SPEAKER_04I mean, now you could kind of do it with yeah, but then if the 212 guy beats the open guy, shouldn't we just get rid of the 212 because he just beat the open guy so he could go in the open?
SPEAKER_02No, because then, like, you know, how many did Frank Zayn uh uh won it? Uh uh.
SPEAKER_04You know, you know, you know, a few two look, even in the two twelves, really, there's only a handful in the top five that are gonna make it as a good 212 in the open. The rest of the 212 ain't gonna do shit. It's like open bodybuilding. There's gonna be a handful that will make it, then you'll have the second tier and so, but you don't give up just because there's no class. Because why do these little fucking banner weights, lightweights, light heavies, middle weights, you'll go into fucking overall pose down, don't you? You pricks hoping you're gonna win the overall when you're not, you little banner weight prick. Stay home, stay backstage and finger your bum for fuck's sake.
SPEAKER_02I I completely understand where you're where you're coming from, Lee. Believe me, I I I I totally get it. It's the only the only argument I have is that if we're gonna start cutting classes, that wouldn't need that would be the the the top two I would consider is mental week and and massive.
SPEAKER_04Did you see we've got a robot that runs faster than this same bowl?
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, that's right. And it was in China or something like that.
SPEAKER_04Did you see that? No, it's yeah, they got those like robotic games and shit. They got these robots doing all these events and it ran like nine seconds, what nine point three seconds? Yeah, that thing, like I said, it's just like that movie fucking iRot. We're fucked, I'm telling you. In a couple of years, we're fucked.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's rude, absolutely.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, outrun that thing, it never get runs out of breath. Who's gonna have to keep going until its battery fucking dies? Who's gonna last that longer?
SPEAKER_02That uh yeah, you're gonna have to people are gonna have to reconsider what they uh are going to do for a living. Anyway, um, yeah, so that's my opinion on the 212. I'd rather see the masters go, and I'd rather see the uh the physique go. Classic physique and bodybuilding and 212 would be the three that I would keep out of all of them. Now it's hard in the women's category. It's hard for me to have you just start chopping shit off in the women's categories like nobody's business because it is holy shit.
SPEAKER_01I mean, every year they're big model, big model, bikini, uh what's that like wellness, that's the unfair model. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_04Well, I blame well, it's like I said, I still come back and blame the judges because if they had a stuck to like open bodybuilding back in my day when they said if your stomach sticks out, we're gonna deduct points. So they did, but then they still gave it to the bigger guys, so the other guys went, fuck it, we may as well get big. They rewarding the guy. Same with the women when I was married to Caffey, they said, You women need to lose 20% of your muscle. So Caffey and a lot of women lost 20%. And what happens? The bigger girls won, so they said, Fuck it, we're gonna get big. If you kept open bodybuilding in check with the stomachs and shit. So it's just a judging criteria. They let fucking go, then you've got to keep making classes to make up for their fuck-ups.
SPEAKER_02Do you think they do it intentionally so they can continue to add classes and add more people into the competition? That's the way it looks like to me. Because you know, and and here's the thing: here's an unpopular opinion, but it's very accurate. Women love to jump on the new trend. So, you know, a couple of years ago, every girl wanted to do wellness, 10 years ago, everybody wanted to do physique. You know, 15 years ago, everybody wanted to do bikini, and now everybody wants to do fit model. Women love to jump on that new fucking bandwidth, the new trend that everybody's jumping on, right? And and so I think there's a method to their madness, to be honest.
SPEAKER_04But even with the judging that, because there's a lot of talk going now, I've seen on the last few podcasts with um, you know, judging the talking about bodybuilding judging. What are they judging? Are they judging the more classic physique, like they judge in classic, or are they judging open bodybuilding where you can just be big and freaky and carry a lot of muscle mass? So now there's this big discussion on what are the judges actually judging on? Are they going by the classic criteria or open bodybuilding criteria when it comes to open bodybuilding?
SPEAKER_05So yeah, I think uh when I think according to them, according to talking to the to judges, they they still say it's it's size first and muscularity first, and then comes conditioning and then comes shape. So, like that's what they say, but then like I mean, but then you see someone like Andrew, it's like it's hard to deny that because it's like makes it insane, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I think when you get uh they call it mass with class, I think when you get a guy like Samson or a guy like Andrew Jack, um and that's another thing, but especially Andrew, he's your eyes, but even as good as Samson is, even when Andrew stands near Samson, your eyes go to Andrew just because of that shape and his frame and shit.
SPEAKER_02It's just like wow, it's have you noticed that the that we are getting a lot more taller bodybuilders that are able to fill out their frames better than ever before?
SPEAKER_04That's not a taller bodybuilders that because all I ever hear is it's easy for you because you're short. Us taller bodybuilders are hard. I said, mate, I've seen plenty of tall, strong men's tall bodybuilders with good genetics build muscle. I said, You're just tall and got shit genetics, so don't fucking blame it on all just because you're tall. No, play basketball, you fuck with.
SPEAKER_02You really can't say that anymore because you look at Andrew Jack, who's a six six three, you look at Samson who's six six foot or six one, Regan six foot, that uh Russian dude is six foot. Exactly. Um the uh the Polish guy that that just came in second is uh out of Austria six six one, I believe, or six.
SPEAKER_04And there's more there's more people my height, five foot four and five foot six, who uh if they say it's easier for shorter people to build muscle, then the gym should be four full of us midgets walking around like Indian.
SPEAKER_05It's not because you're already done, you already grew your muscle. Now you leave.
SPEAKER_02It used to be the it used to be the case where you know, yeah, five eight, five, nine, five ten was like the the perfect night, but now you're getting a lot of more, a lot more tall guys that are able to fill out their frame so much better now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I've heard that.
SPEAKER_04And I and if I'm pushing 500 pounds weighing 200 pounds, and you're 300 pounds pushing 500, who's stronger? Shut the fuck up.
SPEAKER_02Pound for pound, absolutely. But yeah, it used to be the case, and now you see a lot of taller bodybuilders that are able to fill out their frame, you know. And this is that's what this is what I love about bodybuilding, the evolution that we see that also gets no credit. The evolution of bodybuilders just that that gets no credit drives me crazy. The fact that Chris, you and me have talked about this, the fact that you know they uh even the younger guys are for some reason, the younger guys are still talking about the 90s, the early 2000s, the 80s, and they're not even paying attention to what's going on right now. And what's going on right now is really impressive.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but like also, I I always have to bring this up because in the 90s there was no physique, there was no classic physique, it was only bodybuilding. So, what that caused people to do is have to build a competitive physique, and you had, and it was also less pro card, so all these things add up that you're gonna get amazing people winning national championships and becoming pros. So the moment they win, they're already in like a competitive pro.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_05And now you've got the same guy that, like, oh, I don't want to get too big yet, I want to stay in physique. Oh, I don't want to get too big, I want to stay in classic. Now, all that's that talent is so much more spread out, yes. That you know, but regardless of even that, we we still have an amazing crop. I was just saying, Lee, that like all the talent is just so much more spread out because of all the classes on the nine. Exactly. You didn't have that. All those aesthetically pleasing guys in physique or classic would have had to wait and grow muscle to win and become good pros.
SPEAKER_04But that's what happened because you used to watch the nationals or USAs back then. I think at one USAs you had Cormir and um Flex and Kevin and that, and only one gets a pro card. Yeah, so one got a pro card, the others had to train for another six months to either do the nationals or the North Americans. And like I said, only because a few got them, the other guys had to wait another year or two or before they got theirs. That's why sadly now you'll see some guys get pro cards that do a podcast and they'll say to them, so when'd you show? Well, I need another year or two to put size on. It's like you weren't ready to take, get your pro card.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. It's uh I mean it's look, times have changed. But yeah, I remember if you came in second or third at the nationals of the USAs, you became a household name. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04What about what about ones that didn't never got a pro even as bad as Palumbo's stomach was? He never got a pro card. You go back to Edgar Fletcher, there are so many guys who phenomenal who could have made great pros who never got a pro card, considering some people who get them today, you're like, What?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but but the the cream rises to the top, they'll get the pro card.
SPEAKER_04If you imagine like Edgar Fletcher and those people thinking, fuck, if I was today, I would have been pro.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Oh, I'm sure Dave Palombo thinks about that all the time. But here's the truth: even if Dave got his pro card, yeah, you know, um, and he had to do a pro show, he would have gotten, and I and I have all the respect in the world for Dave, but he would have gotten smoked.
SPEAKER_04It would have just been the freak factor, like like an art at wood or what was his name, yeah, um, Greg Kovacs type thing. He would have been like that freak factor type thing, but never never would have won shows, but it would have just been popular for being freaky, like Marcus Rule and shit.
SPEAKER_02He would have and and it kind of added to his it kind of added to his persona that he never actually got a pro card. And here's this guy. Well, that's like Victor Richards.
SPEAKER_04Victor Richards got a pro card, but he never competed. And that added to that mystique of because you know, they'd always put Victor when he guest posed that time in Germany with Dorian Yates ever. Fuck, look how big Victor is. Imagine if he competed. It's like, imagine if he didn't, he got fifth, then that aura's gone. As long as you don't compete, people can be like, what if, what if, and that keeps that aura in air.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, Victor Richards had that aura coming back in uh uh like what was it, five or six years ago. And then he did the interview on Rx Muscle, and people went, This guy's fucking nuts. Remember then everybody was saying he was dead, he's like, I'm not dead. Remember, oh yeah, this guy's good.
SPEAKER_04That was as good as when one of the barbarians went on there, what not long ago?
SPEAKER_02And this was like, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right. Yeah. Um, but yeah, I believe Tony Freeman beat Dave Palumbo uh in uh in a national level show. Um, you know, Dave would have had a difficult time uh doing well in that era of bodybuilding. He would have had a difficult time doing any doing you know any era of bodybuilding because he was so massive, but he just didn't have great shape. And anytime he went up against somebody with great shape, you know, he he would have he got he lost. But think about what he did. Think about what a great businessman he is or what he did with what he had. And he's become financially successful, um RX muscle, species nutrition. Uh you go down uh he was a great, he was a really entertaining guest poser. Everybody wanted him to guest pose. It was uh the guy did a lot with what he what he had, so definitely uh helped to his advantage worked in his advantage, or he made it work in his advantage, which is one of the reasons why I respect the guy so much because there were guys that couldn't turn pro and they were broke, man. They were fucking I remember there was a guy he passed away, he was huge. Everybody called him Joe Baggs, he was from Staten Island, he was he was Italian, he was a monster, and he was a uh you know a national level bodybuilder and he would never win. But he I remember he would take loans out of his pension, take loans out of his 401k just so he can compete, and he would go into debt, and and it was just like Jesus Christ, man, you know. And believe me, there's probably a lot more people like that that we don't that we just don't know of that do things like that, you know.
SPEAKER_04I have I have a question for you, John. I'm hoping you can answer.
SPEAKER_02Me?
SPEAKER_04Okay. See this. Yes, Alan Key. Now, did a guy called Alan actually invent this? Or maybe maybe let me see. I want to know.
SPEAKER_01I want to know why is this called an Alan Key? Let's look it up, okay.
SPEAKER_05Because he built Mesquite because there's never a pro.
SPEAKER_04If his name, if his name happens to be fucking Jeff, I'm gonna be very pissed off.
SPEAKER_02Why do we call Alan Keyes? Oh, come on, stupid. Go away.
SPEAKER_04Of course, Alan Schwashkoff from Germany back in 1642.
SPEAKER_02Alan Keys.
SPEAKER_04Alan Keys. There wasn't like Crapper, Crapper the guy who invented the toilet, his last name was Crapper, so that's gonna start one.
SPEAKER_02Uh here we go. Yes, Allen Keys are named after William G. Allen. Oh, well, an Allen manufacturing company.
SPEAKER_05Hey, you know what? Well, fuck that guy. He ruins my life when I got a bill ship from IKEA. I know.
SPEAKER_04How many times I've got like so many sets, I've got so many sets of these, all shapes and sizes, and every now and then I get the one, I don't have one to fucking fit. I'm like, you gotta be fucking kidding me. Out of all the ones I have, I have the wrong size sometimes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, believe me, I got like three different sets because you have a metric set and you have a uh standard set.
SPEAKER_04Uh believe me. Yeah, but did you know did you know crapper invented the toilet too? Crapper? I did not know that. It was less than that. I think I think some toilets actually have crapper on them spelt with a K, K R A double P A or something.
SPEAKER_02Who invented So when you say I'm going to take a crapper toilet? Yeah, John Crapper. Sir John Harrington. The first flush toilet was designed by Sir John Harrington.
SPEAKER_05Where's Crapper going to be? Yeah, who is Crapper?
SPEAKER_02Oh, there we go. Thomas Crapper. Popularized and improved plumbing hardware with famous showrooms. Okay, so there you go.
SPEAKER_04Thanks, Crapper.
SPEAKER_02Special announcement. Um, in another hour, I will be staying up late for this gentleman uh because he is on the West Coast. West Coast and uh Lee will be joining us.
SPEAKER_04How do I do that?
SPEAKER_02West Coast West Coast and uh Lee will be joining us, and uh it was it's gonna be actually a pretty good interview. The great Quincy Taylor will be joining us.
SPEAKER_04He trains at Fit Club.
SPEAKER_02Oh, does he really? Yes, yes, yes. I remember uh going to see the movie uh Be Cool. And I was like, and I was a bodybuilding nut, and I was like, oh shit. Was John Travolta in that be cool? No, it was no, he was in the first was he in you know, you might be right.
SPEAKER_05I think it was John Crapper.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. No, I know uh The Rock was in it. Uh Be Cool. I know The Rock was in it. He played a gay guy 2005 cast.
SPEAKER_042005, was that 21 years ago? Fuck. Yes, uh that's when you know you're older when you watch movies sometimes and you see the date the movie come out. Like Predler came up the other day, it was like 1986. I went, fuck what the fuck.
SPEAKER_02You got yeah, you got Quincy, uh Quincy Taylor, Jesus Christ. You got John Dravolta, Vince Vaughan, Uma Thurman, Dwayne Johnson, Cedric the Entertainer, uh you got a whole Danny DeVito. There was a whole bunch of people in that in that movie, and I remember because he played one of Cedric's uh muscle, one of his uh bodyguards, if you will. And I was like, oh shit, that's Quincy Taylor. So here we will we will be doing a uh video together. We'll be doing uh somewhat of an interview. Lee will be joining us, it should be pretty interesting. I don't know when I'm gonna be posting it because it's coming out late tonight. So, but keep your fucking eyes out because when it comes, you're gonna not gonna want to miss it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you don't want to be on the crapper.
SPEAKER_02That's right. All right, gentlemen. Thank you very much.
SPEAKER_04But if you do want to be on the crapper, go to Amazon and buy this book, Believe in yourself, and have a good read on The Crapper.
