Unknown Speaker :

So we open the scene high above the Seoul coast, a hawk flying over the chanter river down Far below is the sprawling city borders gate. And as we watch this hawks soar through the sky and look down, you see the head tilt and twist, and then all of a sudden the wings fall back and it descends rapidly, wind rushing past as it's descending, further down, down and down, racing down from high in the sky down towards the structures below. a flock of goals and turns lift and seem to block the path but the horse seems to instantly vanish and then reappear. Moments later 30 feet, the other side of this massive flock as it sort of blocks its path and it races down towards the structures. You can see the wall that surrounds the outside of the city and the internal wall that separates both the upper and lower city and it seems to be zeroing down on something that's caught his attention

Unknown Speaker :

towards the middle of the lower city, and you see the talents come round to the front, the wings spread wide as it latches down onto a rat on the roof

Unknown Speaker :

of a building. As we pan down from that building, it's titled now covered in rat ladders the hawk has a feast for the day. We see the sign for the blushing mermaid. As we enter through the the entrance and go past some of the patrons it's a lively place rowdy, the streets outside milling, with people showing a friend caring about their business, some more legitimate than others. And as we enter into the tavern and move through, first, the open tab, an area where it's full of patrons. Alcohol was free flowing. We whistle our way through some corridors left, right it's serpentine almost and confusing to start with. But we find our way following one particular corridor through to the back of the structure. And there on the right hand side of the corridor, a set of doors. Beyond that door is a veil, a curtain. And as we enter into a dimly lit room, you can see a group surrounding a table you could hear revelry and conversation ongoing. You can hear the clanging and clinking of coin being moved around this table, and we move in, and we see that there was a game ongoing. around the table, you find yourselves surrounded or in competition with a thuggish looking man, an olive skinned bald man, a small kobold, who seems to be sitting on some sort of crate. There is a pair of individuals who seem to be keeping themselves to themselves very much only interacting with the game or each other as it progressed. Is

Unknown Speaker :

and one individual who,

Unknown Speaker :

Brian that you have identified as a member of the Flaming Fist, who is talking loudly and rather brashley. And he turns to address you, Brian says,

Unknown Speaker :

Ah,

Unknown Speaker :

you seem to be wearing our uniform. Have you served long?

Unknown Speaker :

I have been in the watch for a few years. Paul.

Unknown Speaker :

Tell me friend. Have you been to Chelsea? I don't recognise you from from my area.

Unknown Speaker :

Oh, it's been a while? Uh, no. I think so. I've been a new branch. I've was recently in the army and after Thorsten, a few battles have been above rehab since then.

Unknown Speaker :

Yes, yes.

Unknown Speaker :

What are you guys doing? This game is ongoing. You can see sort of anti solving In the middle, and there's sort of rows of dice in front of each player as you're playing through this gambling game called borders, bones or knuckle bones.

Unknown Speaker :

Do you know how to play this game?

Unknown Speaker :

You do, you've sort of watched and learned and effectively, each player rolls a dice. And you're trying to get up to but not over the score of 21. And each round somebody bets whether to hold their number or roll and an extra dice, an extra six sided or D six, as we would know.

Unknown Speaker :

Cool. And

Unknown Speaker :

as the game is sort of abdun flowed around the table with various winners, one particular individual, your compatriot, who towers over the pair of you seems to have had a better run of the luck than the others and you. You watch the other place or betting Turner's as play progresses.

Unknown Speaker :

Well today My money is making me more for the diocese really blessed me. And you know I'm starting to think that today might be the day that I can finally break my free of this awful place.

Unknown Speaker :

The kobold speaks up and

Unknown Speaker :

says that I worked as soon as I want to get free of hair to the Dunning purrs don't pay me enough do what I do. Fluffy ish as he taps the crate under his table.

Unknown Speaker :

We all have a reason for wanting to get away. Unfortunately for myself, the A and the women, especially the Dwarven ones, they dragged me back in especially to this beautiful little bar.

Unknown Speaker :

Can I believe me that Paul?

Unknown Speaker :

Dobbin well, women are truly special.

Unknown Speaker :

Especially then find little booties.

Unknown Speaker :

You as you're speaking you see the sort of the quieter gentlemen leaned back to his compadres sort of standing off off a little bit. And you can sort of see them whisper and nod and look across. And then he saw returns to, to sort of engage with the table again for a moment.

Unknown Speaker :

Do I

Unknown Speaker :

notice that?

Unknown Speaker :

Did I notice that you can do Romi any exceptional investigation?

Unknown Speaker :

I will do perception change. Who knows? The game pa

Unknown Speaker :

Oh, 14 good sir. 14, you see that he's, he wasn't the guy at the table wasn't spoken, didn't speak first. He was spoken to and then he responded, and he's leaned back and as he sort of Lent and asked his neck round, you can see a small amount of scaling that runs up the sort of the side of his neck above the collar liners is stretched And then the two of them now the other one sort of steps more into the light of the, the gaming area also has a very similar sort of scaled pattern down just inside the collar on the other side of its neck, but seems to sort of cut across the chest a little bit just as the the loose fitting top is sort of lowered as it was as he moves.

Unknown Speaker :

I'm gonna lean into the guys. Does anybody recognise those two over there?

Unknown Speaker :

I'll call my mouth and I can't personally say I recognise them at all. That scale around the neck is rather unusual.

Unknown Speaker :

Do I know anything about the scaling on the neck?

Unknown Speaker :

Or in nature?

Unknown Speaker :

Ah, okay, okay. Neither is amazing.

Unknown Speaker :

I was a medicine check as well.

Unknown Speaker :

Oh, yeah, that's go on. Why is old? Nope, nope, that's a four.

Unknown Speaker :

You didn't maybe scaly

Unknown Speaker :

Yeah, you didn't catch enough glimpse you sort of sat between

Unknown Speaker :

or can just tweak the name for con.

Unknown Speaker :

Oh.

Unknown Speaker :

And Bron and as they sort of Lent lent into talk is sort of obscured your view slightly so you don't get a good sort of pick. But what happens is your, as the hand sort of covers the mouth to chat, the bald headed man says, Oh, you conspiring against this

Unknown Speaker :

spider would be a rather rich word wouldn't take much to overpower two dangly people as yourselves.

Unknown Speaker :

And I chuckle very openly to that.

Unknown Speaker :

You censor a moment of unrest and the officer or the person in the Flaming Fist uniforms. But it's all good and next rounds we got some drinks yes

Unknown Speaker :

bring some to all the women while you're on it

Unknown Speaker :

not on there on the menu but my men if given the chance I know just the place for you to be fair

Unknown Speaker :

said local to the areas around the streets or can they be seven to ourselves we have money

Unknown Speaker :

money with you much in this city I would say even getting into trouble My men will help you out if that is problem but if you head over to the seat or to the the west of the city there's a lovely little establishment my men frequent called the hissing stones that would very much suits your

Unknown Speaker :

palate. Oh, I know that place ma I'm a regular what's the Hudson stones

Unknown Speaker :

Don't you mind your little head or

Unknown Speaker :

my my gnomish friend, it is a place where the ladies of the night deal with revelry.

Unknown Speaker :

I will leave it to the rest of your imagination

Unknown Speaker :

as a whorehouse and when you're in a bad mood you go there and you have some fun. That's all you do.

Unknown Speaker :

My daughter's friend has to be correct.

Unknown Speaker :

like playing around with sticks and making flowers and stuff. Bless your little cotton socks. No. Have you got any more juice?

Unknown Speaker :

I can. I can. I can go get some juice on second lunch. I'm going to get up and start walking towards the bar. Some blackcurrant juice, please. God, I need an ale.

Unknown Speaker :

As as you move towards the curtain door stood outside you have sort of your own attendee kind of going on someone turtle, your own technically own barmaid

Unknown Speaker :

She says

Unknown Speaker :

yes more drinks for the game.

Unknown Speaker :

Yes please another end and add a blackcurrant juice if you don't mind. Oh,

Unknown Speaker :

yes, of course I'm sure we have a berry juice of some say for my description.

Unknown Speaker :

That would be grant. Thank you.

Unknown Speaker :

I'm going to go back does the order come in?

Unknown Speaker :

How long do we have to stay here?

Unknown Speaker :

Well, I think I'll order Goliath has been gathering enough coin to be selling a good night in so I'm going to be getting it sticking around, making sure we have a good night.

Unknown Speaker :

Wonderful. I just think this place smells funny.

Unknown Speaker :

Anyone who smells funny around you is you little No. And as long as that my dice are in my favour I choose to not go anywhere else.

Unknown Speaker :

Okay.

Unknown Speaker :

Well you have,

Unknown Speaker :

as you say that the the individual you notice with this Scales says yes to a Dyson to have favoured your rather more than I would have expected the normals dice. Isn't that right is at all as he looked behind him for confirmation

Unknown Speaker :

and the two sort of nod in agreement.

Unknown Speaker :

Li it's a very honourable people are you accusing me of having some sort of dice that would help me win

Unknown Speaker :

in an unethical way? Can I can I insight check, Chris, just on the off just to see what yeah.

Unknown Speaker :

Yeah, well wrong. going inside if you want to do crystal a deception check against insight

Unknown Speaker :

or the fit?

Unknown Speaker :

No way Really? Yeah. I got 14.

Unknown Speaker :

Just count the truth from the lie.

Unknown Speaker :

I'm completely oblivious. As to anything that has gone

Unknown Speaker :

on but I'm then going to like jump in and be like the Goliath a very truthful people I think he's cheating in this kind of small pub I don't see the benefits of such a thing.

Unknown Speaker :

Right wages are on the table and I and hope to run might keep so it is matters to me and my co rod friends.

Unknown Speaker :

Remember cobalt the money that you gamble with for me is a tuppence. I plan to leave this place, not walk around the corner and spend it for a sandwich.

Unknown Speaker :

Clearly you're not familiar with boulders gate you may not make it around the corner with the client telling this place.

Unknown Speaker :

Is that a threat my friend?

Unknown Speaker :

It is an observation. Yeah, my Kobo friends we

Unknown Speaker :

like to be aware of

Unknown Speaker :

situations. Fluffy ish.

Unknown Speaker :

And I try to intimidate Yeah, what an intimidation check.

Unknown Speaker :

1112 Sorry one plus one is

Unknown Speaker :

less than you snuggler We have no time for these causes accusations. So keep yourself to yourself and stop rolling dice if you're not interested in playing in the rather bigger leagues than you're used to.

Unknown Speaker :

Hmm

Unknown Speaker :

So grizzles and you can see the the teeth and is more kind of flash but he's not not got anything to say anything else. I mean, he starts petting the crate underneath is is

Unknown Speaker :

the sat on

Unknown Speaker :

while this sort of exchange is going on the The Flaming Fist

Unknown Speaker :

so the officer that was here,

Unknown Speaker :

yeah. He says, No, no, no, no friends now. I kept intervening smize The Flaming Fist do not need such hassle in this establishment. Obviously A man of repute such as myself above all kind of indiscretion, and underhanded this shall not be caught up in one of your petty quarrels. Let us play let us play the drinks are coming.

Unknown Speaker :

Do I know this officers might do a history check for me. I've just sat on a stool with my juice on my lap when bow pants and I'm just staring between whoever's talking. I'll just flick my head back and forth between everything not having a clue really what's going on, but enjoying anyway.

Unknown Speaker :

I will leave all this normal yours.

Unknown Speaker :

I'm fairly young.

Unknown Speaker :

I don't know why I'm here.

Unknown Speaker :

You're gonna see why. Why you whistle stop. Okay.

Unknown Speaker :

He's just wandered in, literally wandered in.

Unknown Speaker :

That was a natural, natural 20 by the way. Nice.

Unknown Speaker :

You've heard rumours A while back as sort of the mercenary phone that the Flaming Fist is or spreads far and wide. But there's a an outhouse that you guys can frequent and often do the three old kegs and you've heard stories of of him mentioned in there he comes across as better than not holier than thou but better than than everybody above his station and all that sort of stuff. And you know that he's a conniving and snide corrupt for want of a better word, Officer captain and sees fit to sort of press his will and his agenda above that of even toward the council and those that run the Flaming Fist like order Raven guard.

Unknown Speaker :

So, you know,

Unknown Speaker :

Oh, I think you're definitely right. Let's make sure we keep to a friendly tune. But by all means,

Unknown Speaker :

bear as much as you want, sir, you crack on. Oh, I do like the invitation. Let me check the coinage in front of me. And you see him counting through coins. Cricket,

Unknown Speaker :

representing the Flaming Fist. So don't put us down.

Unknown Speaker :

I never intend to

Unknown Speaker :

cricket to a perception show for me, as you guys are sort of sat round.

Unknown Speaker :

Yeah. And as the game continues, you hear sort of a gentle rattler, the doorframe and a sort of a hand appear through the curtain with this tray of of drinks, and it's an impressive serving of drinks on this tray and it's being held up by this feminine hand.

Unknown Speaker :

I got a sick 1616

Unknown Speaker :

the voice from behind the beyond the currencies as your drink orders, including the berry juice requested

Unknown Speaker :

berry juice. Oh guy my mind. I'm gonna how much was that?

Unknown Speaker :

She says, it'll be

Unknown Speaker :

added to your tab. You've all paid admittance. So we'll just settle afterwards.

Unknown Speaker :

Thank you very much love.

Unknown Speaker :

I'll take the tray and then start handing out the drinks.

Unknown Speaker :

Do they not do four pages here, my people are a bit larger. And these poxy small ones don't really do much for me.

Unknown Speaker :

I'm going to notice this and then turn to the waitress like I maybe either a bigger glass next time or just let she In the meantime, do you mind just giving us another for the big log? By the way, what's your name? I'm Mary. Mary. Ah, you're beautiful last Do you mind just giving it a play and I'm going to check her out. Like a

Unknown Speaker :

trucker one silver piece. Oh, like a big spender.

Unknown Speaker :

Thank you. Thank you. So I will go and retrieve a drink for your larger compatriot.

Unknown Speaker :

Now

Unknown Speaker :

the hands on disappears and the finger disappears away from the curtain.

Unknown Speaker :

Back in the forest we used to just suck water out the floor.

Unknown Speaker :

Everybody turns to look at you at this point.

Unknown Speaker :

I just take a big slump with my blackcurrant juice. This stuff tastes nice salad. Oh,

Unknown Speaker :

did you see the floor?

Unknown Speaker :

Oh yeah, you know the thing you stand out.

Unknown Speaker :

I'm aware of.

Unknown Speaker :

You see a puddle on the floor as a meaning

Unknown Speaker :

to the Hill brought

Unknown Speaker :

Yeah, well,

Unknown Speaker :

well, you just didn't have to use these little metal desks to have a drink. You would just find the drink and then you would drink it.

Unknown Speaker :

So I don't know why we have to instal these boys

Unknown Speaker :

27 team

Unknown Speaker :

nearly six,

Unknown Speaker :

and how did you get into this establishment itself if you clearly have no way of making money and paying the admittance? Well,

Unknown Speaker :

I was on with my parents, and I don't know where they've gone. And then I came into this place because it was loud. And now I've sat down, and now I'm just seeing what's happening, Steve.

Unknown Speaker :

I'll get back to the first at some point is probably best. I mean, this is no police.

Unknown Speaker :

I but you can you can take me back to the forest itself. Like when you're busy be frowned upon

Unknown Speaker :

taking children when you don't know them it's it's not it's not it's not that well you know seen

Unknown Speaker :

I'm not a child I'm nearly six one.

Unknown Speaker :

So, you know, I can take care of myself you know,

Unknown Speaker :

young boys right

Unknown Speaker :

we should continue let us not be distracted by this frivolity okay.

Unknown Speaker :

If are your little square thingies on the floor on the table sorry,

Unknown Speaker :

be like weed betting quite small all night. And I can see my COBOL competitors was one worried about the fact that he didn't have a enough because he was betting with his measly wages. Why don't we up the ante a little bit

Unknown Speaker :

as you look around the table unless you on pages choose to disagree you see a subtle universal nod of of consideration, you see that this sort of scaled skinned individual sort of look at each other and give a sort of knowing nod.

Unknown Speaker :

How do I how do I look at Brown as well and I want to kind of give him a signal let him know that not a bit on this hand.

Unknown Speaker :

Do he?

Unknown Speaker :

Excellent question

Unknown Speaker :

like that.

Unknown Speaker :

deception. Probably I would say.

Unknown Speaker :

tu tu tu so

Unknown Speaker :

I tried throwing a signal but it clearly misses because you're not paying attention.

Unknown Speaker :

I see. I see Chris I see Chris Twitch and I'm thinking they

Unknown Speaker :

about there this one

Unknown Speaker :

another pro law no

Unknown Speaker :

For the stakes,

Unknown Speaker :

all in

Unknown Speaker :

you record in front of you, there's just in front of you.

Unknown Speaker :

or excuse me.

Unknown Speaker :

You got so probably 20

Unknown Speaker :

Gold 50 silver and some coppers as people have sort of been thrown in you. There's a couple of different denominations of coin but gold is gold and silver is silver doesn't matter where it's pressed or what emblems are upon it.

Unknown Speaker :

So

Unknown Speaker :

there's a pharaoh whack in front of you, and there's clearly smaller bundles in front of the remaining players.

Unknown Speaker :

Okay, I'm gonna put four silver and I'll match that.

Unknown Speaker :

Oh, I see.

Unknown Speaker :

It's one of those types of engagements. Yes, yes, the money is going in.

Unknown Speaker :

Alright, so you play along.

Unknown Speaker :

Just gonna keep an eye out to make sure that the other guys that COBOL and stuff aren't doing anything shifty. So I'm just gonna be sat there with my cup up to up to my nose just pretend to take a sip whilst I stare at everyone

Unknown Speaker :

your perception shirt from earlier when you were sort of scanning the room and have a look around.

Unknown Speaker :

You notice that Yeah, in the the sort of the crate that the COBOL keeps tapping and touching there was a fluffy, sort of black and white, cat sized

Unknown Speaker :

sort of creature.

Unknown Speaker :

Sort of a single black stripe down the centre of the back that sort of ends in this very fluffy tail. Okay, and then as you grow bigger, bigger

Unknown Speaker :

and

Unknown Speaker :

what do you count as a small beast? Yes.

Unknown Speaker :

Wonderful.

Unknown Speaker :

I'm just gonna get one while so this is on the table. I'm Just gonna shimmy off my seat and then go and sit closer thing and then start making little noises. Little noises basically. Well basically I'm going to communicate with it just be like had a little fellow.

Unknown Speaker :

How are you?

Unknown Speaker :

What are you doing here? As usual move around and speak into it. You can see it's all nose up to it because

Unknown Speaker :

it's in a reasonably sized crate underneath his COBOL he's got enough room to turn around and stuff like that. And you can see it's all Yeah, swing it around as offside nuzzling against the crate to sniff you.

Unknown Speaker :

I put my hands out and give him a pat.

Unknown Speaker :

It looks

Unknown Speaker :

into your hand a little bit.

Unknown Speaker :

I'm just gonna shout out Can I keep

Unknown Speaker :

kid whips round down and

Unknown Speaker :

he's like, Oh, you keep him fluffy.

Unknown Speaker :

fluffy doesn't need to be in a cage. You should let him out and I'm gonna try and unlock the door.

Unknown Speaker :

I'm gonna stop. What's your name chicken with your character's name?

Unknown Speaker :

I'm just gonna put my hand. No, that's not you don't really do that. That's his. That's his pet. We don't really release.

Unknown Speaker :

But they should be left to be free. I'll just have them in my hand. No, I'm just

Unknown Speaker :

wondering, okay, and maybe better but don't start letting animals out within an establishment as well. He's right to keep it in a cage.

Unknown Speaker :

Okay, tall, man that is washed.

Unknown Speaker :

I've had loads of shit.

Unknown Speaker :

I can't believe it.

Unknown Speaker :

I'm just gonna listen to rob. that that person scares me. Yeah, he's really really big leap is a big round

Unknown Speaker :

of the Tobin spice cutting smiles sort of looks around at the sort of the guys looking investigating this animal in a cage.

Unknown Speaker :

If I get on with it, yeah, yeah, places to be and I have winnings to spend. So

Unknown Speaker :

I'm gonna keep distracting the cobalt, every opportunity to ask him annoying questions about this thing just to keep him distracted. Or

Unknown Speaker :

as you start sort of talking to him, the first couple of roles start happening of this particular round, as there's money sort of piled into the middle. And Captain Smyth Tobin, you can hear sort of starting to clear his throat takes us drinkies

Unknown Speaker :

Excuse me, excuse me.

Unknown Speaker :

Dry in the mouth. Just need to wet the whistle.

Unknown Speaker :

You're either sir

Unknown Speaker :

could see him now start to reach for his activism. And

Unknown Speaker :

as you asked that question, you, it looks like foam seems to sort of be running up the inside of his throat and out of his mouth and he starts flowing and you can see it now starting to shake violently. As he drops his drink. Head butts the table on his way down and sort of rolls off the chair.

Unknown Speaker :

Jesus He really did.
