Snyders Return:

Hello, and welcome to snows return a tabletop roleplay podcast. My guest today invites us to lower our weapons and join them on a journey of discovery from high altitudes of show daliah. To the coral Ocean City of marital, we may be torn on which way we need to go first. But the Saturday morning feel of our adventure will have us making friends no matter where our travel takes us. So grab your backpack and be ready to learn about magic and the magic of friendship. As my guest is here today to weave the words about the wonderful world of world events. It is an absolute pleasure to welcome the ttrpg creator B to the show B thank you for joining me. Hey, happy to be here. Yeah, no, I really appreciate you sort of taking some time to chat with me. And before we go into some of the things I've sort of hinted out there in the introduction. Would you mind letting us know how you got into tabletop role playing games, please?

Bee - Wyldrvir:

Yeah, sure. So I got about three years ago, my friend shot some voiceover options. Then I decided to buy each of those. And that one. So it's 30 combination. So far, it's done in such a short amount of time.

Snyders Return:

And how far is yet to go. So short, short space of time, as you've mentioned, but you've been able to sort of create this this fantastic sort of take on a on an adventure, total role playing game, would you mind telling us a little bit more about worldview, the world and, and sort of everything that's encompassed in in their place?

Bee - Wyldrvir:

Sure. So I feel like a little bit of the outer world context helps make sense of why the world we live. In friend, Crow, we're feeling very sick for the outdoors. somewhere. And we wanted nothing more than just go out backpack. I had been pitching a one shot. And I found this system called journeys. And I wanted to launch that system. I personally didn't jive with the way the dice roll work. pretty complicated. So one off game. And I was just like, I wish I had something that has this energy, but without all the extra effort because the system was dice pool. And that's fun. It's fun in real life. You know, it's fun to have all those things together. It's very, I imagined to do. So, yeah, so when we started thinking about like, how can I have a game as the synergy dice system that I'm working on? I made a scratch pad on Google Docs. And we started trying to think of how to make that work and somewhere down that line with a couple hours to a weekend of grading. By the end of that weekend, we had 36 pages of rules and story one shot two Hey, I guess we made a game now. So that's that's what

Snyders Return:

i mean that's that's epic to go from, let's just, you know, come up with something to let create by accident or otherwise a fantastic game. That's that's had some Some great support from the sort of the Indian and tabletop role play game community. So narrowing down into the word of word of various self that this, you know, you create it in a weekend and have continued to sort of flesh out what, what makes up the world of worldview, what is it that brought it to life in your mind and others have been put down on the page for for us all to enjoy.

Bee - Wyldrvir:

So out of the fact that I do think the reason I say the outside explanation makes sense, is because there are still remnants of the logical function board its way into the deepest chasms of the world to be explaining all about, you know, for example, we didn't, the system doesn't have all that came out of the fact that I was like, I don't want to write that didn't match the vibe of what I wanted to do. And it also was a lot of extra work, something that I wasn't going to use. Yeah. And and that created that out of game justification to Okay, how do we explain that? You know, yeah, and I remember talking conversations about, you know, so then ttrpg, about a group of people who are going out to save the world. And very little time or stories. What does the world look like? What does it look like? You know, cuz usually whose adventures I'm like, Oh, the baby's gone. piece of stone and Game over. Right? Yeah. Yeah, we don't spend time in a safe has been. And it was like, Whoa, because people, I think the common ground is no conflict. I felt that there was a lot of opportunity there, that people were missing out on. Open on the world where everything is alright. You walk into the game, knowing that your character will die, and that there won't be anyone who's out to get physical violence. And that's the main point isn't the Big Bang. And more safe and cool world out there. And there's nothing stopping you from going out and see. Because usually, that's what those kinds of things do. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. But like, I don't mean to put down the traditional adventure. So it's not. I'm not saying, Oh, these are all bad. No, but I saw

Snyders Return:

that is one style of it. Yes. One style of adventure.

Bee - Wyldrvir:

Exactly. It's one. That's one way you can go. And I think people make the mistake of thinking it's the only way you can go not to say something. Now what if we did something? What if the main point wasn't taking months? No, all that kind of stuff happened so long ago that now the world is comfortable. People without each other. So like, all that stuff? Is? Just night sounds

Snyders Return:

idealistic for that that word seems unfair, somehow it sounds. It sounds great. And so you mentioned there, you know, there is no a dark shadow lurking over the next hill no imminent threat or requirement to effectively save the world but in the world of warfare, who can who can the characters meet? Who can they interact with? Who inhabits the world?

Bee - Wyldrvir:

Wow. So starting from going up, if you will, player characters are travelling, that's if you're playing a game that sort of assumes that you have a party or a group of people who are seeing the world either be an official like travelling, which is a thing in the world. And if you could just be stuck in this like, explanation as to why a very specific or very broad part of the job or not at all. I will say it's not. So, today. Except that when we come back home somewhere else. Yeah, there's

Snyders Return:

definitely other

Bee - Wyldrvir:

other NPCs of major importance. You know, librarians and the monster characters who care about the creatures that will be here. Or in the case of more wild creatures, keeping their habitats on city statement, as a leader who sort of exemplifies average, for example. And the story goes, those 16 years, they will win. You know, they will, and modern. And because of that, they were very warm by their travel, they came out with a very mature and very happy in my head, and they became in charge of this. And because of that political conflict, is also non existent because their leaders of childhood. And so there's this sense of interconnectivity between states. So,

Snyders Return:

again, it sounds great. And so these six city states would you buy and sort of just let us know what they're called? And what what kind of a population we will find? Are they all human or you know, who inhabits these city states?

Bee - Wyldrvir:

Sure. So the main document has sets, and each of them are based around one of the major types of benefits. So you have memory, the city state of innovation is sort of the city of electric that used to just be technology. Technology was their magic, but potentially everyone else's element, magic, and eventually really has to be electricity. a natural extension. element is this land built with the most technological advances? It's built with natural mind, however, industrial buildings is a modern city. living in harmony is the biggest issue humans have as well as the birthplace which are in this world. Right. It has been was initially without a doubt, but again, people The Magic stealth store now came a little bit later on and then carried on electric magic. Technology. Yeah, in some exceptions are offshoots of humanity. All of the changes are out humans reacting to magic or magical, adaptive.

Snyders Return:

Okay. Okay, so that's sort of intervene and what's the sort of counterpoint? As you said they're all they're all in harmony, they have sort of good relations between them. But where as it is, is sort of the technological existing with nature. What's, what about going to the the other sort of extreme? Where did the others, five city states sort of sit with respect to location and sort of that elemental? Magic? Yeah.

Bee - Wyldrvir:

So polar opposite and a lot of technology, helping them? out technology. We have Tor. Tor, it is a grand set of homesteads connected by bridges, mines, toilets. largest city, so it's actually heavily public, but it's much bigger than sitting high, you know, foreign lands in nature preserves. toil is where you would usually find points which are technically there to fight or do they have no, okay. No, we're not close we can get out of it. Either one is really close and moving on. But the pay or the or the reason instead of the magic, magic, because it's all magic is intrinsic to nature. And this place is closest to the world. So perfect location. So people work and say, no magic Hi, magic, flora and fauna, work. Animal features. And the same way more or less for a living. So yeah. So it's like that dichotomy in nature.

Snyders Return:

It's sounds like such a, such a rich world that that you've been able to create, by initially in a short space of time and with these communities built within the game world itself. How is how is the community building in the real world in support the game out here in earth prime for one of the best description? Yeah,

Bee - Wyldrvir:

so the biggest place to connect with us. It's very big. Which is why we've gotten a chance to run. People sat down to watch out for people that no one's actually picking up the soil. Worked with nature check. Show earth science. So many accounts we worked with before, which is really cool. So, I guess so, of course, conference rooms productions and watch tales. There's a lot of really boring people. It's been really cool. I've gotten to meet people who were one. This is one of those things where I just, like reaching out to people. Why? Phil blows my mind. There's a bit of a whistle blow that we try to do every other week, but it's the summer, everyone's going everywhere. We have a very loyal people. And a lot of the people who started ended up going right into the system. Although it's grown, organically marrying one person tells another person. And of course, I want to try.

Snyders Return:

I mean, word of mouth. And you certainly played some of the nature. You've mentioned there with sort of the the who's who, of sort of tabletop role playing games in the community at the moment. Yes, so no, brilliant. So you mentioned there the podcast, putting aside any sort of frequency release issues where where can other than discord? Where can people say find your podcast or other content of yours or even find other ways to support yourself? You and provers? The creators?

Bee - Wyldrvir:

Yes, so the show itself is on YouTube and Spotify and podcasting, we've also also on either on my guests or sessions and workshops around the world. There's always something new. We also have a Patreon calibre, major news support, as well as we just google.com so whenever we read something, it goes into the with very open and comfortable style. So everything we've ever written is available on Google. And so you can get that there but if you want like a nice, nice, professional looking, clean version of the core rules, that is the package and I think it's really cool. I think we're working together physical version out, which is just bonkers.

Snyders Return:

Oh, nice. Nice. Good to have a good to have that goal in sight for sure. Yeah. So So yeah, I you know, I will make sure I put links to the YouTube channel and drive through and your each own and as I'll try and put as many links as I can find, or have found down in the description below this podcast. So please, if you like the sound of a non combat, sort of good time, great adventure, moving through a world of relative or not relative Peace and and just exploration then scroll down follow those links and support support in the wider world of any way you can so you know we've mentioned that it's available on on Google on a Google Drive on you know the drive thru RPG and H and the community you have growing on discord Patreon so where else what what social media platforms are using to in to engage with with others as well Do you have any way that that we could sort of come and follow you on Twitter I tend to just go off topic get myself in the brain space to know with a summer camp so I have had to sit with myself so a lot of that came out I talked about he actually writing one of the books the national public don't do that also. Okay. I know definitely a great way to engage with the community for sure. And to continue that that creative spark that carrying the water water fear through into into the future and that's something I'll come back to in a minute. So if someone was low or rephrase that if someone is and I'm sure they are inspired to come and check it out, they either purchase the the nice quality version from Drive Thru or or if you're using the Google Drive link decide to download it and they want to play what's what's the character sheet and sort of gain gain style like

Bee - Wyldrvir:

so simple. There's a note section with information gathered. This world is the hammerspace job. Fair enough. I met which is a lot of fun. But still. We started thinking we will kind of go along Yeah, no, of course. Yeah. Absolutely. By saying the items which is cool.

Snyders Return:

Yeah, definitely.

Bee - Wyldrvir:

It's amazing how much 500% compared to specific choices, which are simple some of them are shame on genuine self. I think one of the coolest things every attribute which keeps track of intelligence. Okay, so high concept so for a change Oh yeah, that's why it's what it says on the tin mechanical understanding you want to play taking off your racial attributes wants to be while

Snyders Return:

sounds good to me, sounds good to me

Bee - Wyldrvir:

the location location sanitised thing and it's been lost. So if you were born this way you? Yeah, yeah, of course. again one of the things that we care about those have set but most of the people go to college is usually a response to something. Yeah. Instead of instead of traditional, oh no, you're actually so instead of a person. So, just about any type of evidence if you don't have an attribute I like it by way because everyone can still attempt anything amazing. Working Adding all the attributes at the start of the game so yeah, just picked up. Yeah. Because magic is so new. Magic has to be added. But as you play specifically it's all about picking up on your character starting to sew up and trying to think what you know. Yeah, yeah. This

Snyders Return:

sounds like a lot of fun, a great way of making personal development character development. A fun mechanic is not it's not a hard and fast line, it's very much in a state of flux, you don't know until you try anything. Which is just brilliant and kind of appeals to me. Definitely. So speaking of developments, and you've mentioned a few things like maybe doing some writing on stream what else is next in a in the pipeline for yourself and or, or even your, your fellow creator? What have you guys got? or what have you maybe got planned or or planted in the back of your mind already in progress? What's in the future for you?

Bee - Wyldrvir:

There's a couple of things to set out to do. The Corbett campaign we'll see what happens. Return to the third best way to describe optimistic spin offs so what doesn't vampire look like? That was it was awesome. It's also so far they've only had an impact is no Halloween.

Snyders Return:

very fair and valid point.

Bee - Wyldrvir:

So we broke a rule that one time and I think it's kind of sassy. China's eventual there will be closer to baseline, essentially. That's how we get there. Here's a big here's a couple of long shots. Here's a couple of things and go Yeah, And then we're gonna go into the third one was a bunch of like, a bunch of little ideas and kind of small, white big enough to be you know. Yeah. So okay, let's get ourselves a seven page books, then we'll do some smaller expansions just little things we find interesting. So then we did the things I want to trade and the whole day was built around, you can have its own little bit of a couple of reasons which was that I just decided that these were things that I was just thrown here for too cool to be that's my favourite, my one favourite thing it has reach out to the Corps of Engineers that the intended explanation came out and I think I am still in this world is so far necessary that now are way more

Unknown:

All right.

Bee - Wyldrvir:

There are a bunch of kids who got into a certain aesthetic all kinds of conference rooms and each of the citizens have a different time. So it is a modern day sunglasses. Tory is way more rather than what the city states then romanticise the childish, super cool done by a bunch of teenagers who have interviewed by playing sports. And like your character could do that. That's such a bad show is the weirdest. I love it. I'm loving it too. I love pirates. Pirates that just had fun with that. axolotl, kobolds and selkie in the merfolk. aquatic so we're in the middle of Matt. Two more little things and then that can want to tackle and then if somebody has passed out hopefully by the time this comes out, I can say summer, which is just setting for him because why build a new course. So that's another thing, like a couple of new workshops and within small groups. And then after that, around September is Magic School, which is hilarious. They're a couple of weeks. Next week I started and For those who may very well say something. But the story behind the school came out of one of those moments. What question marks about magic functions? Well, nobody knows what they're doing. And it's way more it's way more. And way less. Yeah, so it was way more just an excuse to get a lot of smart people. That sounds really fun.

Snyders Return:

That sounds good.

Bee - Wyldrvir:

Yeah, so those are kind of things that have come up. I have always, I always have like, 10 different ideas in one I'm trying to push him to get a better name at some point. It's a weird show idea. mixes with most of the show us this one character bouncing the most children's bounce stringing you along with your story. Wow. That's probably incredibly difficult. I'ma go for it.

Snyders Return:

Yep. I, again, you got so many great ideas that once I was brilliant, I think I could work might not always be as smooth or as straightforward as jumping from one to another. But I think he could work brilliantly. I think it'd be a lot of fun. I mean, I said absolutely.

Bee - Wyldrvir:

And we're always wanting to be more impulsive. I don't adult. That's word.

Snyders Return:

Don't be afraid and try. Again, I'm sure it's not I'm sure someone has said that in a far better way than the neither of us have put it but So you mentioned how much you you sort of love to run a you've mentioned these these great creative ideas and the source material that is out there for for gyms to pick up and use. So if someone does, pick up a copy, download a copy, obtain a copy, borrow a copy from a friend, however they get it and they want to run it for the group. What advice Have you got to give them to run the game in the spirit in which you've created it?

Bee - Wyldrvir:

I'd say I would say the best thing to think about if you're planning on making a parking lot of people put themselves in the headspace of a cinematic movie I guess so. And I find myself often saying all that is so important. I think you can will be in the spirit Well being okay with the fact that there's some elements in this world someone took like a very academic coach and so I know the core rulebook my favourite thing to point that out is the core rulebook has a whole list of what happened to horses and activity nobody like it's just the middle of the monsters action is such a hard thing to motivate. Exercise actually helps humans to came up with some point horses and ask him is just a mental image. Yeah, that's a coin. Oh, so let's take off now that's Yeah, that's it it's really funny.

Snyders Return:

It's very it's, it's, it's you I've got up in front of me it's, it's humorous and that the through line is is just brilliant. Again.

Unknown:

Yeah, brilliant.

Snyders Return:

I mean, we've spoken about a lot. We've touched on a lot and I'm sure there's there's so much more we could dig into but is there anything from this interview that maybe we haven't discussed yet that you want to bring up for? For the

Bee - Wyldrvir:

I think personal note, I want to toss out a little bit. But I'm not that cool. So happy to see you grow beyond just me. Then I just want a shout out to put up with my crow. Everyone in the creative team will on a Monday morning. Okay, what is this? Awesome. I know it's true, but one of these days. Okay, I just have it was this Connect dots but don't make it too close to notice, you know, one of my favourite examples and they needed magic items. I didn't know how to do that. I was like, What if they just that's so obvious. To close up the picture. You

Snyders Return:

can see the wood for the trees in

Bee - Wyldrvir:

exactly. And I think when you're working on a project like that second set of eyes because something is so amazing how can I help you Yeah, well we the backup. I tell us to quiet now. And Kremlin's Awesome work without the podcast exhausting the amount of people who have thrown their hat in the ring just for like two minutes and sometimes it's so much credit social role for their own stuff. So it really does take

Snyders Return:

Yeah, yeah accros artwork just to also sort of shout out is is amazing from the cover through the through the book it's Yeah, definitely if not checked out, go and at least have a look and appreciate the the artworks to go to go along with the wonderful world and game that has been created. So yeah, I just like to do that. Be it's been such a pleasure to get to, I know, it's like a bit of time for us to, to actually organise this and have a conversation. But it's been such a pleasure to be able to speak to you about worldview and all the things that you in, and you're sort of team if you want to

Bee - Wyldrvir:

technically correct but also like,

Snyders Return:

friends, group, community, all these good things that that that all of you, especially yourself have sort of brought together and put out for, for us to play and enjoy. So it's been an absolute pleasure to, again, get that time to speak to and learn more about more about it. So thank you for, for coming on the show. It's great. If there's a chance to do a one shot or or something in the future. I'd love to interview you about future projects. I'd love to have you back on the show now. Will we I'm sure we can leave the planning to another time. But it is it's been such a pleasure. So thank you, B Thank you for listening.
