Charles, we've just uh moved into the shade because it's getting incredibly warm here at Thruxton, isn't it? Which uh brings with it its own challenges. But FP1 over and done with and uh an opportunity to start weighing up uh the fact that we've got a medium tire for qualifying.

Yeah, exactly. Well I usually use a carryover hard and then a carryover medium. I must say I very much prefer the medium, but I think all drivers are gonna say that. Um did one push lap at the end of the medium, half felt amazing on the medium tire. Um I can't remember how much I'd have time. Fine, it was over a second I found just by doing nothing, uh, just in tyres, so it's it's bonkers. Um but yeah, no, so looking forward to driving the medium later for new for qualifying, um, which is gonna be great. The car's mega. Um, it was gonna be very hot, so we'll see how the tire lasts. I did one push lap and was relatively happy with the car set up there, so wanted then save what I've got then for uh for qualifying later on.

It's gonna be one of those qualifying sessions where picking your opportunity with uh some space to go for it, because you you're not gonna get many laps out of that medium tire, are you? No, exactly.

I also can't tell my strategy yet. Um so because you haven't made it made your mind up or something. Ah, must have been true, yeah. Uh bit of both, bit of both. I think more than fact we haven't decided what we want to do yet. But um, you know, it's gonna be interesting. I think the tyre will hang on for two laps with us. Hopefully that means it's one lap for the front wheel drive car, so if we get an extra stab at it, it might hold some of the difference. Um obviously we're then racing on a hard anyway for the qualifying race later on, so um, I've just got to hope it gets hotter so we can see some degradation, otherwise we're gonna struggle this weekend.

Um back at school, as it were, uh here at Thruxton for the second half of the season after the summer break. Uh a quick sum-up of of the first half of the season for you.

Yeah, I think it's been good. I mean, I've been there or thereabouts at most rounds. Um I think we sit P4 in the in the in the championship, which kind of proves that point, really. Um it's been really good, you know, to get to two race wins and one qualifying race win. It's it's been a fantastic start of the season. I've doubled my win tally from last season already, obviously it wasn't much, but um that's nice to do, and I've already equaled my amount of podiums I got. So I'm very happy, you know. I've been very happy with my performance. I think we've made a big step forward with the car, which has been fantastic. So um we always knew we were gonna struggle with this round, but certainly not kill, if it's hot, then we'll be back on that top step. I'm certainly sure of it. Have a good weekend.
