Tom Chilton Team VERTU - Race 3 - Knockhill - 09 August 2026

SPEAKER_00

Uh had Adam also had a great great finish in second, but let's go back to Team Virtue and me. I won! And I was I was gone within the first split second. I was in Edinburgh where everyone was in second gear. I just was off on the line and got a great start and thoroughly enjoyed it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, uh on the softs as well. Commanding lights to flag victory, big smile on her face when he got out, the sun's shining. Can it get any better than that?

SPEAKER_00

No, winning in the British touring cars is the hardest thing I've ever done in all the championships I've raced in. I do think this is the hardest, so very happy. I you two star on the hate. I saw you, I was like, I best use my boots now.

SPEAKER_01

Adam Morgan congratulating you there. Um, you've had so much bad luck this season. We've spoken many times, you've been on the front of the grid, you've done well in qualifying, and then for whatever reason, it hasn't been your lucky day. Lady luck has shone on you today, but you've earned that one.

SPEAKER_00

I feel I have earned it, yeah, and never giving up on that race one, I think was key to the success in that last race game. The wings I was up there for race two to get the reverse grid, so I just just so happy because, like I said, I do have rotten luck for whatever reason, and when it comes good, it means so much more to me, I think, than anyone can know.

SPEAKER_01

It's been a strange weekend again here, hasn't it? Because of uh the well, the sun's out now, but it's raining and we've we've had the cold and and everything else that goes with it. Does that make it even more special?

SPEAKER_00

Uh yeah, I mean it's it's so different the car in every session over the last two days this weekend because the grip level's different every time. And Barry, my poor engineer, he's been doing so much forwards and backwards. I've just let him get on with it because he's he's a pro, I'll just let him get on with it. And uh, you know, he's done a great job with the car this weekend. It was it was it wasn't a great qualifying car, in all fairness, but I had a very good uh race car.

SPEAKER_01

Can you carry that momentum now on to Donington Park?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, absolutely. Yeah, we'll we'll carry that on. I mean, how I had the car last year, I qualified pole there and won, so I think we should start with where we finished last year, there, to be honest. It was very good.

SPEAKER_01

It was really good to see you get out of the car with that huge smile on your face, means a lot to you. Congratulations. Thanks so much, cheers.
