Almost Cooperstown
We're a father & son who love to talk and argue about baseball! Baseball is the professional sport that has the longest history so there is a lot to talk about. We launched Almost Cooperstown noting that baseball contains a long history of players that, for whatever reasons, have been shunned by the electors of the Hall of Fame. Consequently here are many 'Almost' players still waiting their turn for induction. With less than 1.5% of the now more than 23,000 players in the HOF, we feel there should be more players included. Part 2 - 36 players we'd induct into Cooperstown right now - Ep. 234
In our prior Ep. 233 we covered 18 players we believe should no longer be passed by and should be inducted into Cooperstown. There are 263 players and 70 non-players in the HOF. Adding 36 players would make it 299 players - which is 1.27% of all players including those in the Negro Leagues. Even adding controversial players including a PED users and 4 new Negro League inductees, we feel short adding only 35. We should argue about Vizquel, not about Joe Mauer!
