“Coincidence or Coordination?” That was the name of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology and Inclusion hearing I testified before last week. I am honored to have been invited to testify at this new subcommittee’s first hearing, but there wasn’t enough time to say everything I had prepared. I think it was also a missed opportunity by the Subcommittee to explore the impact of regulatory uncertainty on marginalized populations.

Today, I want to expand on what I did (and did not) have the chance to say during the hearing. This week, episode 149 of the Tech Intersect™ Podcast is about the federal regulation of digital assets, financial technology, and inclusion.

POWERED BY ADVANTAGE EVANS™ ACADEMY

After beginning the year below $17,000, bitcoin has quietly floated near $25,000! Ethereum is rallying, as well. Experts are hinting the market may have bottomed out and are predicting we may see the beginnings of another bull run by year’s end.

Only time will tell whether this is a bump or a boom. But if past is prologue, markets always rebound. Stocks, and crypto assets. It’s definitely time to stay ready so you don’t have to get ready. So I’ve developed an exclusive premium webinar to share my 2023 six-step D.E.T.A.C.H. framework for the prudent crypto investor. If that’s YOU, secure your seat today (VERY limited tickets to maximize impact during Q&A).

The market never sleeps. So, it’s time to wake up and D.E.T.A.C.H.!

Some of the talking points I go over in this episode include:

  • Concerns of the SEC using its broad discretionary powers on a piecemeal basis without providing clarity or a fair opportunity to understand the rules of the industry.
  • How the Biden administration’s digital currency policy doesn’t provide the framework that it claims to.
  • The lack of discussion of inclusion - even though it’s in the name of the subcommittee.
  • The double standard of major banks’ perception of digital currencies and assets.
