Most people spend their entire life stress without ever given a single thought. As to what it is they really want and what's important to cut all the noise connecting you yourself and the life that you have meant to live. I think it's completely a comfortable job, and I hate it. It's time to clean this. If you are, if you're there or if you have gone there, then that is totally okay. The reason why I'm here is because I was there. And I want to give you guys a just a strategy in terms of how do you like just reconnect with what it is that you're going for so you can keep moving forward and also just to make yourself feel good as you're moving towards the desires, right? Because isn't that the purpose? You want to move towards the things that are pulling you, but also you want to feel good. So the three things I'm going to talk about one is just remembering what your intentions were. Like, what did you say you wanted in life? And with those intentions, like, why did you want it? Like, what was the reason behind it? What did you think that that would give you? After you've remembered those intentions, I want you to just keep that at the forefront of your mind because out of sight, out of mind, oh no, what is it? Out of sight, out of mind, out of mind, out of sight. I out of sight, out of mind. That is the that is the correct term. Um, but out of sight, out of mind, when you put these things away, it almost robs you of that, the emotional richness that you could be feeling in your day by staying connected to your dreams. And then the last thing, I guess I'll I'll add two more steps. One, the next one is monitor your self-talk, monitor what is going on inside your head. Because really everything is showing up in your life to serve you. The uh the the problem arises when we create meanings that uh we we look at something happening in our life, and rather than look at it as a uh a guide to where we want to go, we we look at it in the opposite direction, pulling us back, giving us ourselves reasons as to why we can't have or go after what it is we want because of X, Y, and Z. And then the last thing is just to take steps, start to get momentum, keep going in that direction of where you said you wanted to go. So, this episode here, I'll give you uh this has been going on in my own life. I've been making strides towards creating my espresso and meeting a lot of hurdles, um, or I should say, challenges that are helping me get new distinctions. And I notice I'm being very intentional about the words that I'm using here because that's not how I had been using it. I've been getting stuck, feeling like it's never gonna happen. And as a result of that kind of language, it was just putting me in a place that I did not want to be. It's putting me in a place where I didn't feel like doing the things that I know I had to do, such as showing up for this email. And by the time I get the last step, that is why I'm here on this video. And so I just felt very disconnected from the things that I said that I'd wanted because I was too focused on the things that weren't going right. So reestablishing my intention, I said, Well, what is my intention? Well, my my overall intention is I want to create a life of freedom. I want to create a life where I'm able to travel around the world, do coffee, inspire, share stories, but have the coffee brand working for me as well. And having that intention caused me to uh one, when I when I that's the forefront, and I'm focusing on that, all of a sudden I feel really good. I feel energized. I feel like, and I'm and when I vocalize it, I just feel so connected to that vision. But then what happens is sometimes that self-talk trips me up. Sometimes that self-talk is like, you can't do that. Like you're gonna try doing this, you're married to your business. This business is gonna keep you caged there. But notice what the intention I said, right? And and I would know sometimes I would allow myself to take that that that self-talk and and uh and and to hold it as truth, or I would see other people who have kind of achieved a certain level in the coffee industry and think that because they had that, that it was not or in some way it was not available to me, which is not the truth. So looking at that, uh for instance with the with the freedom, I looked at that and I said, Well, what is my intention? As I just mentioned, I want to create a life of freedom, a life where I could travel, do coffee, inspire, and I wanted to feed through the coffee brand because I love coffee. And then I said, using my coffee brand as the liberator, you know, as as the vehicle for for this lifestyle. Notice the difference there, right? I went from switching it and using it as the thing that was inhibiting me from having a life to the thing that was allowing me to have that freedom and also the connection and the impact that I want to have with you guys. And it it sounds so like such a small little change, right? Well, yeah, you said this and now you're saying that. It sounds like such a small change, but it reframes everything that you're going through. Right? And for instance, um, when I was looking at a friend of mine or my my sister-in-law gave me these group of magazines, they're called drift magazines. It's like coffee culture from like all these cities in the world. Each issue, each volume, I should say, not an issue. Each volume is like a different location. They give you like a list. And looking through these things, I'm like, I don't fit in with any of these, any of these people. First of all, like the the dramatic uh imagery of these, the these illustrations, like the illustrations, you know, everyone with these, like the serious, serious coffee look, they'll be very pensive. That's not me at all. If you've been to a market with me, you know that my whole thing is about energy. I like, I want to feel good, I want to feel vital, I want to feel alive, I want to smile, right? And no one in these coffee should have smiles. How? How don't you smile? Um, and so I was looking at this and I was like, oh, well, that's not me. Like this is, and I was creating a narrative in my mind that I would never have this achieve this level because I didn't fit this norm of what uh what coffee professionals were. I I mean, I don't even know how old these machine, uh, these magazines are, but I think the the Fedora days have thankfully have long passed, at least here in the United States. And um, and so I was creating a just a dialogue in my mind that was preventing me from moving forward and made me want to take a step back rather than forward. But when I looked at that as rather than look at at these pictures and say, like, well, you know, wow, they've achieved this, I'm still here and get discouraged about it, looking at it and say, Well, this is reminding me of what it is that I want. These people started somewhere. And if I'm not feeling uh like my espresso is like up to level, then what do I have to do to change it? So it gave me ways of being proactive and also really looking at myself and give myself credit for how far I've actually come, the good the following I created with uh with my espresso, like my cold Roman espresso. Um long story short, the reason why I tell you this is just because you get to decide the story, you get to decide the narrative that's going on in your mind. So you could allow the narrative to work against you, or you could change narrative to work for you. Both are available to you all the time. It's all a matter of where you're choosing to put your focus. And lastly, is just taking the motion. Sometimes we get lost in life and we just because of we're we we're stagnant, we're not moving in our day, we're not making good on the things that we say that we want to do, or maybe sometimes things just pile up. Maybe you're like there's just so many things, and now like the things that you had committed to, they just kind of fall through the cracks because you're an overwhelm. But by recommitting, by recalibrating and what is important, why it's important to you, changing that inner dialogue, and then just taking the steps, even if you're not gonna get everything done, but just allow yourself to be in motion. The only way you're ever gonna do anything is to be in motion and and allow yourself to stack those wins by doing it. So, you know what? I didn't get everything done today, but I commit to this. I showed up here on uh this video here because I knew that I could help the people who are enjoying my coffee and watching this video or reading my email. I know that I could help them set and be more intentional today to create the lives that they want to uh that the desire and want to create to live their one life. And so that that is what inspired me to get on here today. And as a result of doing this, then I feel a sense of accomplishment and I could stack that win to the next thing, which is going to be to work on my video uh from Nongkyao in Laos. And because again, this is something else I'd been putting off, but then I would get discouraged because it wasn't, you know, I had made commitments to have this video done by a certain time, but then the bit the week would get busy and I wouldn't make that progress. And then I would start to get uh you know get mad at myself for not staying true to my word. So this moment right here, this is where we we realign and we get back and we we hold true to our word. What is it that you said you committed to? What is the intention that you have for your life, for your year, for your week, for your day, for your family, for your health? And how can you keep that in the forefront of your mind? So this way you see not you don't see it once, but you see it daily. Because by seeing it daily, you're constantly being reminded and you're constantly going to be moving towards that because now you have a check and balance. You're like, oh well, uh God, if I eat that Oreo cookie or the 10th Oreo cookie or the entire package, that's gonna move me further away from that place I want to be. And then also monitor that self-talk. Maybe you did eat that sleeve of Oreo cookies. I'm kind of joking here because I I've done that. I I am Oreo cookie is one of my favorite cookies. I've said this many times, but maybe you did eat that sleeve of Oreo cookies and now you're like you're you're going into bad talk about yourself and you're starting to beat yourself up. Rather than just wipe the sleigh clean, state your intention again and then take the next action of integrity. Like, what is the next action? Maybe you ate that thing, but you had been sitting on your butt all day. Like, maybe the next action of integrity, you're like, you know what? I've been feeling a little tight and like a little, I need to get outside and I need to get some movement and exercise in. If that is it, then you notice what that next step is and go take that step as a result. You start to get back into that positive momentum loop, you start to feel good, and you allow yourself to take the next right action of integrity. So I hope this helps you. I hope um this helps you re-establish your the intention that you have for all the areas of your life and uh and and just get you thinking differently about making sure that you always have that focal point. So this way you're never being pulled in a different direction. You could have kind of take the reins of your own life and steer your ship or your reindeer, whatever, right? Rain serve for reindeer. Um and and ultimately just to get to a place where you're feeling fulfilled, you're feeling satisfied with the work you've done because it was your work, your calling, doing and bringing you to where you want to be in life rather than where the rest of the world is trying to pull you. So get intentional, take the steps, notice your progress, and be like be easy on yourself, making sure to notice the self-talk and being able to reframe it to a positive, uh, a positive phrase whenever you can whenever you notice it. So I hope you enjoyed this episode here, guys. I hope thank you so so much for tuning in. I hope uh this hits you at the start of the week and sets you inspires you to start moving the direction of the and doing all those things that you promised yourself you're gonna do. And by doing that, that you get a new level of momentum, new level of excitement, new level of passion in your life. Because remember, you only get one life. Live passionately, live wow. I just did I just forget my own timeline. Live passionately, live fully, and most of all, live now. That's funny. I did the first time. Well, no, not the first time it's happened, several times it's happened. But God bless you guys. Thank you so, so much for tuning in, and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
