In 2014, 50,644 foster kids were adopted — a number that has stayed roughly consistent for the past five years in the US.  The average age of a waiting child is 7.7 years old and 29% of them will spend at least three years in foster care. They say the most current figure is there are more than 400,000 children in foster care in the US. And there are 153 million children worldwide who are orphans.

Guest #1 - Pam Davis Litman is a mother of 3 children and just started working at the same adoption agency, Spencer Chapin, that she was adopted at, at the tender age of 2 and ½.
