Consistency, Capacity & Creation: Finding a More Sustainable Rhythm

In this episode, I’m sharing an honest update on the podcast, why I took a big chunk of time off from recording, and the shift I’m making to a more sustainable rhythm. We’re talking about consistency, capacity, and what it really looks like to create meaningful content while balancing daily life and business, without stretching yourself too thin.
Hey mama, welcome back to the Insider Mom podcast. If this is your first time here, this is a space where we talk about what it really looks like to build a business while raising a family without burning out in the process. And today's episode is going to be a short, honest update, just me pulling back the curtain a little bit on what's been happening behind the scenes and what you can expect moving forward. So if you listened to the last couple of episodes from a few years ago, you probably heard me talking about stepping into a new season of the podcast. And I meant that at the time. I had plans for more consistency, more episodes, possibly even weekly content again. But the truth is it didn't happen the way I expected it to, and I want to talk about why. Because I think this is something so many of us experience, especially as moms building businesses, but we don't always say it out loud. Over the past while I've been in a really full season. Client work, creative projects, moving, building out new offers, and motherhood woven into all of it. And at the same time, I was trying to step back into producing weekly podcast episodes. But here's the part I don't always say. This entire podcast is created by me. Every episode you hear, I plan it, I record it, I edit it, I produce it, I upload it, all of it. There's no team behind the scenes. There's no editor I'm sending this off to. It's me, usually fitting this into the in-between moments of everything else I'm balancing. And I love this podcast, I really do. But trying to keep up with weekly episodes in this season sounds like pressure to me instead of purpose. Because I don't believe in building a business or a platform that looks good on the outside but feels heavy behind the scenes. And I think we've normalized a version of consistency that actually leads to burnout, especially for moms. Weekly content is great, but isn't always the gold standard. Sustainable content is. So I had to take a step back and ask myself a better question. What actually works for me right now? Not in an ideal season, not when things slow down, not when I have more time, but right now. And the answer was clear. So moving forward, you can expect one thoughtful, intentional episode each month. That's the rhythm I'm committing to try. Now, that doesn't mean that's all you'll ever get. There may be seasons where I show up more, where I share weekly, where I bring on more interviews, and I'm leaving space for that. But I'm no longer committing to a pace that stretches me too thin, just for the sake of being consistent. Because I want every episode you listen to to actually be worth your time, to feel intentional, to feel grounded, to give you something you can take with you, not just something I rush to get out. And I think there's something in this for you too, because if you've been feeling like you're falling behind or like you're not keeping up with what you said you were going to do, you're allowed to adjust, you're allowed to shift. You're allowed to choose a version of your business that actually supports your life instead of competing with it, even if it looks different than what you originally planned. So this is me practicing that in real time, choosing sustainability, choosing alignment, and building this podcast in a way that I can actually continue showing up for. So with that, make sure you're subscribed to the podcast. Since the podcasts won't be on a strict weekly schedule, I don't want you to miss when a new one drops. And if this episode resonated with you, I would love for you to share it. And please leave a podcast review telling me what you're experiencing and how the podcast has helped you. I always love hearing what you're navigating and what would actually support you in this season, because that's what this space is for real conversations, real life, and building something that actually works. Thanks for being here, and I'll talk to you in the next episode.
