Loosely inspired by the 1987 thriller Black Widow, Furious follows Alice Black (Emmy Rossum), a former NYPD detective turned FBI rookie, as she connects a suspicious string of murders to a sex trafficking case from 2012. The cat-and-mouse story is less of a whodunit and more of a character-driven, trauma-centric, psychoanalytical look at two former victims whose lives have been redefined in completely different ways as a result of their trauma.
