Tod reads Pickman's Model, story first published in the October, 1927 issue of Weird Tales. It's about a painter, Richard Upton Pickman, whose talent in depicting nightmare portraits exceeds that of comparable realist artists Johann Heinrich Füssli and Gustave Doré. The story focuses on the night one of Pickman's few remaining friends visited his studio, and the horrors witnessed there.
Also, a quick note: If you're listening to this episode, today's probably the first day you learned about the show. Like with all podcasts, we didn't really know what we were doing until a little later. We'd say Episode 19, The Book, is probably a better starting point these days. Go ahead and skip up to that, then come back here if you're a completist.
