Episode 3: The "Mother" of Invention: The Story of Barb, Becca and UnbuckleMe
Show Notes

On this podcast, I have the great pleasure of talking  with  OT Barbara Heilman and her daughter Becca Davison, the creators of UnbuckleMe,  a patented, award-winning tool that makes it more than 50% easier to unbuckle a child’s car seat. This podcast will take you on their journey which includes a feature on ABC's Shark Tank this past May that resulted in a deal with not one, but two, sharks!

I love the story of Barb and Becca for so many reasons.  They prove the point that identifying a need is a great foundation upon which to build a successful entity, and they show a positive mother /daughter  multi-generational collaboration, something near and dear to my heart. Barbara has been an OT with a specialty in hands for over 40 years.  She gives all therapists  over the age of 55 enormous pride and validation  that as we  get older, we can transition literally from hands on to hands off,  still make meaningful contributions, and be successful. And of course, as Mark Cuban said, this "American Dream Team" can certainly inspire a whole new generation of OTs. Tune in, and check out their great product.
