What if the secret to consistent success could be found in just five minutes a week? That's exactly what we explore in this lightning-fast but insight-packed episode on the five-minute habits that separate winners from everyone else.

We all have the same 168 hours each week, but winners allocate just a handful of those minutes to practices that dramatically amplify their effectiveness. First, they review their wins—not just to celebrate, but to strategically analyze what's working so they can replicate success. They also set clear priorities based on what will genuinely move the needle forward rather than just staying busy. While the specific focus might change week to week, winners always know exactly where they're headed.

Relationship investment is another non-negotiable five-minute habit that pays exponential dividends. Something as simple as sending birthday wishes, engaging on LinkedIn, or reconnecting with old contacts can build a network that creates opportunities for years to come. Winners also take time to prep their environment, ensuring their workspace supports rather than hinders their goals. And perhaps most counterintuitively, they intentionally disconnect—stepping away from technology through phone-free walks or other decompression activities that actually enhance productivity and creativity.

These five practices—reviewing wins, setting priorities, investing in relationships, prepping your environment, and intentionally disconnecting—require minimal time but deliver maximum impact. Which of these winning habits will you implement this week? Subscribe now for more actionable strategies delivered in bite-sized episodes perfect for your busy schedule.

It is five-minute Friday and I'm Jordan Edwards and we're gonna be talking about five-minute habits that separate winners from everyone else. So what that means is we're gonna be discussing wins, priorities, weekly, investing in relationships, prepping our environment and intentionally disconnecting. Now, remember, this is only a five-minute clip, so it's gonna be super short and action-packed. So the first part is review wins. What does that mean? It means look back on your week and see where the wins came from, what provided a win, what gave you wins and what made you feel like you are winning, because it's important to do that so that you can replicate for the next week. The second thing you want to do is set priorities for the week, so you want to see what is your goal for the next week, what is going to move the needle forward. What that means is some weeks you might be traveling. Some weeks might be more focused on one area of your business. Some weeks might be focused on another area of business. You have to know where you're going and what the priority is. The third thing you want to do is invest in relationships, so this is one of the best things you can do. One of the things I do that's super easy is I send people on their birthday happy birthdays. I try to stay connected with people. I go on LinkedIn and I'll spend 10 minutes commenting on everybody's stuff. I'll put out videos. How do you stay connected to the relationships?

Speaker 0:

And maybe on Friday, actions that for you could be just reaching out to an old contact and reconnecting with them. And then four is you want to prep your environment. So what that means is you want to keep your environment clean and by doing that is each week, you can kind of sit down, rearrange it and really look at hey, this is in the right place, this is clean, I understand where I'm going and I understand where I want to be. And then the last one is intentionally disconnect. So what does that mean? That means maybe you want to go on a 45 minute walk and don't bring your phone.

Speaker 0:

Maybe that means working out or doing a way to kind of debrief and let yourself kind of unwind from the week. So the disconnection is always good, because even if you're still working that day, it's not a big deal. It's just how do you give yourself moments of calmness and really separating for a moment or two to really get you to where you wanna be. So in this five-minute Friday. As promised, it's under five minutes and what we discussed was reviewing wins, setting priorities for the next week, investing in relationships, prepping your environment and intentionally disconnecting. I hope you got value from this and I'll see you on the next Five Minute Friday.
