5 Minute Friday - 24-Hour Reset, Not New Year’s Resolution
Waiting for January won’t change your life. Choosing a single day will. We break down a simple 24-hour reset that trades resolutions for action and shows you how to create momentum with five clear moves you can make before tomorrow.
We start by reclaiming your morning. No phone for the first twenty minutes gives your mind space to breathe, think, and set intent without the flood of alerts. Then we shift your state with movement—just twenty minutes of walking, lifting, running, or any practice you enjoy. You’ll hear why early light, breath, and body awareness sharpen focus, improve mood, and make disciplined choices feel easier.
From there, we take aim at noise. Learn how batching messages at set times protects deep work and stops constant context switching from draining your day. We talk through practical ways to mute nonessential channels, say no to low-value invites, and trim recurring commitments that eat attention. Clearing both physical and digital clutter reduces friction and frees you to do the work that matters.
To lock in momentum, we close with a habit most people skip: tracking wins. Recording three specific wins each day rewires focus from gaps to gains, builds confidence, and compounds motivation. With these five steps—reconnect your mind, energize your body, simplify your inputs, eliminate clutter, and track your wins—you’ll have a repeatable reset you can run any time life feels noisy or off track.
If this helped, follow the show, share it with a friend who’s stuck on “someday,” and leave a quick review so more people can find practical tools that actually move the needle. What will you tackle in your 24-hour reset today?

This is Five Minute Friday, and it's the hack that beats New Year's resolutions. Most of us want to wait till January 1st to make the change, but the truth is we can make a change in 24 hours. And I'm going to tell you how with the five tips. It's called the 24-hour reset. When we build momentum, it takes one step at a time. So the first part of the reset is I want you to reconnect with your mind. I want you to wake up, no phone for the first 20 minutes. Why? So that you can actually process your thoughts and think correctly instead of just being inundated with so many things. Then I want you to energize the body. Part two is energizing the body. That means take 20 minutes, go on a walk, get outside, work out, run, Muay Thai, whatever you want to do. Do something to reconnect with your body. You have one body, you got to take care of it. The third part is I want you to simplify your inputs, meaning you don't have to respond to every email right away. You don't have to respond to every text right away. What's helped me a lot is I've actually done batches, meaning that I get all my emails at like 8 a.m., 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. So it batches out so that I can see them and I can handle them all at one time, because one email at a time doesn't really move the needle and it's just a distraction to you. So you want to just batch them up so you can do them all at one time and work through them. Then you want to start to eliminate clutter, meaning if it's not needed in your life, you don't need it. Because the truth is that a lot of us acquire too many things in our life and those become distractions because there's just so many variables moving on. So we want to eliminate things that are taking from us. And that elimination might be the 10 groups that you're a part of, or it might be the 27 events that you're going to this week. You might want to cut down so you have the real focus time. And then the fifth part is that you want to actually track your wins. You want to feel good about yourself. The biggest challenge for a lot of us is that we don't allow ourselves to win. We never feel like we win. Even when we get a sale, even when we have good things, we focus so much on the negative. So I want this to be a flip-the-switch moment for you where you start to focus on those wins. So the five 24-hour resets, the five things that you got to do today to get that reset and not wait till January twenty January 1st is gonna be this. I want you to reconnect with your mind. So I want you to take time to be mindful, maybe 10 minutes of breath work, maybe just to walk outside without a phone. Then I want you to energize your body. That's where you're moving, you're getting outside, you're getting excited, you're doing things. The third is gonna be simplify your inputs. Cut down on all the messages, cut down on the groups, mute them, maybe check them periodically so you know what's going on, but you don't have to do it all at once. And then eliminate the clutter, eliminate the extra, and start to track your wins. Start to see how you are improving because without measuring and monitoring, we don't see growth. So the more you measure, the more wins you're gonna have and the better experience you're gonna have. So this is gonna be a huge mindset shift because a lot of us wait too long for the resolution. I'm gonna change when. No, I want you to change today. Today's gonna be the change for you, and I can't wait for you to do it. And I want to thank you for being on Five Minute Friday. Thank you.
