How 75 Hard Helped Me Rebuild My Life
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
You can work for years toward the “perfect” job and still feel like you hit rock bottom the moment you arrive. That whiplash is brutal, especially for driven people who were taught that the next milestone will finally make everything click. We talk about what it feels like to realize you’ve been aspiring toward something you don’t even want and why that moment can be the most honest turning point of your life.
From there, we get specific about the catalyst that helped us rebuild: the 75 Hard challenge. Two 45-minute workouts each day, one outside, a gallon of water, no alcohol, clean eating, ten pages of personal development reading, and a daily photo. The real payoff isn’t a new title or a different company. It’s a new standard. Discipline becomes a way to prove what you’re capable of, expand your mindset, and stop accepting a life that looks “successful” but feels wrong.
We also zoom out beyond career change and focus on redefining the whole foundation: mental health, physical health, relationships, spirituality, community service, and philanthropy. If you’ve been thinking “I just need a new job,” this conversation offers a sharper question: what if you need a new direction and a higher bar for yourself?

The 75 Hard Reset
Raising Standards Beyond Work
A Wake Up Call To Start
Share Your Takeaway With Me
SPEAKER_00This is Five Minute Friday. And I at the top of my career, that's when I felt like I hit rock bottom. The reason was throughout all of high school, throughout all of college, I wanted this job. And I wanted to get this job. And it was at a cute, massive organization. And I did it. And I hit the job. And I started to realize that I was aspiring towards something I didn't even want. And that was a really catch 22 for me because it's hey, we worked so hard for this, and then we get there and we realize like how silly this is. This isn't what I want to do. This isn't how I want to live my life. And so I mean, in this short thing, I'm going to explain to you guys how I kind of rebuilt this and how I rebuilt who I am. And one of the biggest catalysts for that was actually doing a challenge. I did this challenge called 75 Hard, which was 75 days of inside workout, outside workout, 45 minutes each. Then you'd have to drink a gallon of water, no alcohol, clean eating, read 10 pages of a personal development book, and then you take a photo. And that challenge completely changed my life. Not because it changed the job that I was in, but because it changed my standard and it changed what I was willing to accept out of life. And it made me realize what is possible. And that's where I started to put into a different perspective of what I am capable of and what I'm able to do. And that's where the podcast came from. Honestly, like that's where it all came from. Because if I didn't put myself out of this situation, if I just said, Whoa is me, I'm gonna go look for a new job, instead of, hey, I'm gonna redefine my life. I'm gonna redefine my mental health, my physical health, my community service, my philanthropy, my spirituality, my relationships with people. If I didn't focus on that, then I wasn't gonna make a change. And that's what I did. I made that change, and now I'm proud of the person I am today. But it took a lot of work and it took time. And that's what I want you to start to do. I want this wake-up call to be a wake up, this podcast to be a wake up. Am I going the right place I want to go? Do I want to do something different? Do I want to make a change? And then start. Start. Take a little action. Make a little little step that will put you in the right direction, that will get you closer to your goal and get you more aligned in what you want to do. I hope you got some value from this. And if you did, I'd love for you to email me at Jordan at Edwards.consulting or send me a DM on Instagram at JordanF Edwards and tell me what you learned. Tell me what your big takeaway was. I look forward to hearing from you guys and we'll talk soon. Thank you.
