5 Minute Friday: You Can Start Over Later Than You Think
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
“Is it too late for me?” is one of the most common questions I hear, and it usually shows up quietly when we’re alone with our thoughts. If you’ve been weighing a career change, a fitness goal, a move, or a big personal reset, this quick Five Minute Friday is built to cut through the mental noise and give you a clean next step forward.
I share proof that late starts are real starts, using stories like David Goggins and Ray Kroc to challenge the idea that you missed your window. We also talk about the belief that growth stops as you get older, and why that belief is often the real barrier, not your age.
Then we land on a practical mindset shift you can use today: stop measuring your life against other people and measure it against yesterday’s you. That one change makes progress measurable, reduces shame, and turns personal growth into something you can actually repeat. You’ll hear concrete reminders that you can change your career, your body, your location, and your beliefs, no matter what decade you’re in.
If this hits home, subscribe, share it with someone who needs the push, and leave a review. Then send me your biggest takeaway and what you’re ready to break through on.

SPEAKER_00This is Jordan Edwards with Five Minute Friday. Most people I speak with are quietly asking the same question. Is it too late for me? And in this five minutes, we're going to answer this for you with results I've had, with mindsets, with how to think about this, and really how to move forward. So I want to leave some examples with you. So you might know David Goggins. He's ran 100-mile races. He's done incredible tasks. He's lost 100 pounds in three months. He didn't really start until he was 24. Or Ray Kroc, McDonald's, have you ever seen McDonald's? He didn't start until he was 52. So yes, there's a belief that our brain doesn't keep growing. But as we're getting older and older and older, like we're going to make changes. So the three major shifts that we have to start focusing on is one, let's not measure ourselves against others. Let's only measure ourselves against yesterday's us, right? I want us to realize that. Meaning that they made the change in their life anyway. Why? Because at 50, at 60, at 70, at 20, and 30, you can always make a change in your career. You can always make a change in your life. You can go live in a new location. You can break your belief. You can lose 50 pounds. People do it every single day. So I want you to realize that if this is at home with you, I want you to write a message to me. I want you to email me at jordan at edwards.consulting or DM me on Instagram, even better, Jordan F Edwards, and tell me what was your big takeaway? What are you looking to break through on? What are you looking to make a change on? Because I look at these every single day, and I cannot wait for you guys to have an incredible day, incredible weekend, and I hope you keep winning and stay clocked in.
