Rejection can feel like a spotlight on your flaws, even when it’s really just someone declining an offer, a pitch, or a moment in time. We keep this Five Minute Friday tight and practical, because the goal isn’t to “never feel” rejection it’s to stop letting it drive your choices. If you’ve been hesitating to sell, ask, apply, post, or follow up, this is the reset that gets you moving again with more confidence and less emotional drag.

We walk through two shifts that change everything. First, we separate your identity from your offer: most people aren’t rejecting you, they’re rejecting what you presented, how it landed, or whether it fits their needs right now. When you see rejection as feedback, you can adjust the offer, improve the message, and keep your self-worth intact. That’s a crucial mindset for sales, entrepreneurship, leadership, and personal growth.

Second, we talk about reps and detachment, including a memorable framework shared by David Meltzer: look for 25 no’s to get to a yes. When you learn your numbers and expect “no” as part of the process, rejection stops being a surprise and becomes progress. You can say “thank you,” move on faster, and stay focused on becoming the most authentic version of yourself the one who shows up, trusts yourself, and goes after what you want.

If this helped, subscribe so you don’t miss the next Friday drop, share it with a friend who’s playing small, and leave a quick review so more people can find the show. What’s one ask you’re willing to make this week?

Hey, it's five minute Friday, and what we're gonna be focusing on today is fear of rejection. Who's scared of getting rejected? I know you're raising your hands out there because we all are. No one enjoys rejection. So, how do we overcome it? When I'm working with my clients, I always ask them, what are the things that are holding us back? And the two biggest fears are fear of rejection and fear of failure. So this episode, we're only got five minutes, so we're gonna be focusing on how to overcome fear of rejection. The biggest way that I've found out for myself of overcoming fear of rejection is two things. One is asking myself, are they rejecting me? Because if they're rejecting me, then I'm gonna feel the fear of rejection and I'm not gonna enjoy it. But the truth is they're not rejecting you, they're rejecting what you offered. So if you adjust your offer, you will get a better result,

meaning that there's no fear to be had there. The second thing about fear of rejection is that we attach it too much to ourselves. We're thinking about it too much. But in reality, fear of rejection, as we get more reps, as we handle it more, as we go through it more, we become more detached, right? So there's a big click that ended up happening for me when David Meltzer came on the podcast. He talked about how he looks for 25 no's to

get to a yes. And that was just the formula he came up with between the amount of clients he had, the versus the yeses he was getting when he was selling cars. So you have to be in you have to realize where you're at, and you have to start to understand what it takes to get to the result you're looking for. And if you're looking for the no's, then you move on and you just say thank you. Thank you. This is what I wanted. Now I'm able to get closer to where I want to be. So throughout this Friday coming up, I want to challenge you. I want you to start to step into the authentic version of yourself. Not the one that's scared, not the one that's fearful, the one that's willing to go after it. Go be the best version you can be because that's what the world needs. The world needs authentic people. They

need people who are willing to sell, they need people that are willing to trust themselves, that are willing to show up and be the best versions of themselves. And if you're listening to this podcast right now, that is you. You can do this. You got this. So, what did we talk about today? We talked about how to overcome fear of failure. Realize that the offer they are saying rejecting is the offer. They're not rejecting you. You are a good individual. Don't put your self-worth and your offer, don't have them connected. The second thing they're rejecting is the second thing you should think about when rejection's occurring is

Step Into Your Authentic Self

the amount of no's you get are getting you closer to the yes you're looking for. This is very important. Framework. Carry this and comment below and let me know if this helped you along the way. Or shoot me an email at jordan at edwards.consulting, and I'd love to hear from you guys and let me know if you got value from this episode. Thank you very much. Happy, fun Friday.
