Welcome to A Counselors Journey To Private Practice. I'm your host, Juan.

Today we focus on surviving the summer in private practice.

The episode covered the following recommendations to follow during the summer as a way to build success in your counseling private practice:

  • Engage in building SEO. As a goal, you can work to create 10 to 15 blog post or video post during the summer focused on key services that are provided in your counseling practice.
  • Connect with referrals to see what they are doing during the summer. Evaluate if you can support their clients or if you can be of help.
  • Create new services that connect to the needs of the summer. As an example, start a teen therapy group or explore if couple's workshops would be a good fit for your community.
  • Practice self-care during the summer. This is a vital step that should not be skipped. The more you take care of yourself the better you'll be able to manage the challenges in your counseling business.
  • Create a niche. Use the summer to pick a niche that can support you in building a brand. For me, it's writing immigration evaluation. CLICK HERE to see how I've created a specialty in this area.
  • Add additional services. Think about the current services that your practice offers. Now consider how you can add an additional service to the current service. As an example, if you provide individual counseling for anger. Could you add an anger management group?
  • Create products. Use the summer to work on your big idea. Do you want to create a book that covers how you help people? Do you want to create a product that people can hold or play with it? Do you want to create an app for phones and tablets? Use the summer to transform your counseling private practice.

I hope that this episode supports your growth in your journey of growing a counseling private practice.
