Episode 8
Death metal artist Pablo Vergara, whose stage name is Morbid, posted videos of himself during a stay at downtown Los Angeles's infamous Cecil Hotel. One year later, in 2013, a young woman was found dead on the roof of the building (there's a Netflix true crime special on the case). Some online 'sleuths' accused Morbid of committing the murder. Undeterred by the inconvenient fact that he wasn't even in the country at the time, the cancel mob went after Morbid and drove him to the brink of suicide. Vergara relives the painful experience to Rob and Desma and tells them what he's doing to help other victims of online cancel culture.
