Gearoid Towey is an Olympic hero - an athlete, former World Rowing Champion, and Trans-Atlantic rower.
He competed at no less than THREE Olympics:
Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.
Towey, along with Ciaran Lewis, attempted to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a 23ft rowing boat.
After 40 gruelling days at sea, their boat was capsized by a 10m wave, leaving them adrift 900 miles from landfall.
