Thought and Leaders
The Crisis at Christmas Interview
Show Notes

Christmas 2020 will be exceptional.  For some, the hardships and sacrifices will be especially acute.

In London, between July and September this year 3,444 people were recorded as rough sleeping in the capital and nearly 2,000 of these were new to the streets.

One in four people who are homeless will spend Christmas alone.

In this Xmas appeal episode of Thought and Leaders, Jonathan Gabay talks to Jon Sparkes, the Chief Executive of Crisis, as well as Laura, one of the people whom Crisis has helped support.

Before joining Crisis, Jon was Chief Operating Officer of UNICEF UK and Chief Executive of SCOPE.  He also had a successful commercial career as Human Resources Director of the international technology firm, The Generics Group.

Jon is a Non-Executive Director of South Yorkshire Housing Association, Chair of the Welsh Government’s Action Group on Ending Homelessness, and is a member of the UK Government’s Rough Sleeping Advisory Panel and the Scottish Government’s Homelessness Prevention and Strategy Group.

As you will hear, Laura is a brave, resilient, and positive person - supported by Crisis.

No one wants to be alone this Christmas.  For too many there will be no choice.

It costs just £28.22 to give someone a Crisis Christmas. If you can help or would like to volunteer, please contact  today.
