This week Ray Farris welcomes the newly appointed FBINAA President, Tim Brandiff, to the podcast.
Tim began his law enforcement career in 1983 with the Zillah Police Department, in the Yakima Valley, WA, then he started his employment with the Washington State Patrol (WSP) on March 4, 1986, as a trooper cadet and was commissioned as a Trooper on January 9, 1987. He worked his way up through the ranks of the WSP to Captain working in various assignments throughout the agency including Field Operations, Technical Services, Professional Standards, and his final command in the Investigative Assistance Division overseeing Hi-Tech Crimes, Missing and Exploited Children’s Task Force, 18 statewide tasks forces, SWAT, and starting the Washington State Fusion Center before retiring on February 11, 2011.
On February 14, 2011, Tim was appointed to serve as Undersheriff for the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office. As Undersheriff, he is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Sheriff’s Office, which consists of 247 commissioned and civilian staff and a budget of over $42 million.
Tim has an AA in Business from Yakima Valley College and a B/Science Degree in Business Administration from City University of Seattle. Tim is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Session #226 and was elected in July 2015 to serve on the FBI National Academy Executive Board. Tim is also a Charter Member and Board Member of Gateway Rotary of Thurston County.
On March 4, 2021, Tim retired from law enforcement after 38 years of law enforcement service to the state of Washington. He is now employed by Sound Transit as a Public Safety - Emergency Management. Program Manager.
During his off-duty time, Tim enjoys spending time with his family skiing, bicycling, golfing and working in his yard.
