Jeff Tarkington is a veteran law enforcement officer with more than 25 years of experience serving the Middle Tennessee area. He began his career as a patrolman before advancing to roles as a K9 handler and member of the SWAT Team. Over the years, he promoted through the ranks, serving as Training Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, and now Lieutenant.
Lt. Tarkington is currently assigned to the Professional Standards Division of the Gallatin Police Department, where he oversees training, records, crime prevention, fleet and facility management, special events, CALEA accreditation, property maintenance, and public information. He also serves as President of the Tennessee Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA).
Jeff is committed to advancing officer training and wellness. He is a graduate of the 265th Session of the FBI National Academy and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Bethel University.
John J. DeVoe is a retired law enforcement executive with more than 27 years of experience. A proud graduate of the 252nd Session of the FBI National Academy, John led the FBINAA New Jersey Chapter as President and now serves as Director of Strategic Partnerships for the FBINAA National Office, where he focuses on building meaningful relationships and advancing initiatives that support members worldwide.
Over the course of his distinguished career, John served as a Lieutenant with the River Vale (NJ) Police Department and as a Senior Investigator with the Bergen County (NJ) Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Task Force. As a certified police instructor, he guided both new recruits and seasoned officers through the evolving challenges of modern policing. Today, he draws on these experiences as an engaging speaker and passionate advocate for first responder wellness.
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts from Seton Hall University.
